This is a great diner with an amazing staff and lengthy menu. Definitely a local favorite worth traveling to!!

Newly renovated. The interior layout has changed a little. The booths have more privacy and are more comfortable. Menu still about the same. Staff seems to have changed a little - the host was a lot more welcoming. Service was good and the food did not disappoint. Worth a visit alone just to see the changes they have made. As we try to help out the local businesses during covid- we ordered dinner from them the other night. Food was fine as was the service. However, they charged us $2.15 for a SMALL soda. I found this to be insulting knowing: 1- it costs them a nickel, 2- we ordered a large and was shocked how small it was and 3- we ordered the food from them only to help them, a local business, survive during covid. A can of soda would have more contents in it. I knew the price prior to ordering it so that was NOT the issue, the issue was it was so tiny. Foolish way to treat a customer. Treat your customer fairly, provide value and service and we will forever be returning. But not when you charge $2.15 for such a small drink read more

Really wanted to like the food but it was a big disappointment. Ordered online the night before for curbside pick up. Everything tasted like it had sat out overnight. Nothing was hot and nothing was chilled. Cardboard containers were a joke. They had no way to latch them closed and were a damp mess. French fries were cold and soggy. Onion rings had the coating falling off Monte Cristo had soggy bread and rock hard cheese that was melted a long time ago. Cold Chicken salad club again had soggy toast and warm chicken salad. The chef salad was the only thing packaged correctly in a styrofoam container that could be closed up. However since they put all 3 orders in a flimsy bag, when I lifted the bag out of the car, it ripped causing the salad to fall out and spill all over my garage. Maybe stick with breakfast or burgers? I don't know but I will never waste my hard earned money on this place again. read more

I love this diner! Every time I eat here the food and service is always amazing! I love how they have a bar so I can get an adult beverage with my food. I wish all diners had a bar! The servers are always very sweet and the owners always come to the table and ask how the food came out and make sure that we enjoyed everything. If the bartender is busy I have noticed the owners never have a problem getting back there to make a customer a drink or to help out. I will forever recommend the Roxbury Diner and be a customer whenever I'm not exactly sure what I want to eat! read more

My family has always enjoyed this diner, good food most the staff friendly. Some of the younger staff is more worried about socializing with their friends then helping out customers. Food is great with the pandemic going on have to do take out. Recently ordered from there, was excited for one of their meals. Love the Roxbury Diner! Their food is consistently good. Portions are large, definite value for your money. Daily and seasonal specials are creative and delicious. The desserts are excellent. You HAVE to try the cheesecake. They make their own and it's the best around. Try the prime rib from the carving station on the weekend. It's perfect. Staff is very friendly and fun. We went to the roxbury diner for a nice breakfast. We thought! We all ordered eggs ,bacon and hashbrowns. Our ordered was delivered to table in less than 4 minutes. I said gee that was fast, waitress replied it was already in kitchen. When i looked at the bacon u could see it had been cooked hours ago . The hasbrowns were too and totally tasteless when i told waitress that the bacon was terrible. She completely ignored me. When i paid the check up at the cashier she asked how was everything and i relied not very good im afraid. The response i got from her was im sorry. Needless to waitress did not get any tip from us. Well my friends and I decided to go here for lunch one day cause we haven't been there in some time. Service wasn't too good. Diner looked very dirty and outdated. My friend got a grilled cheese and water and the total came out to over 5 dollars! That is absolutely crazy for a grilled cheese and water but don't worry it comes with a pickle! Wanted to support a small local business instead of block chain fast food. Biggest disappointment, food was so bland from the burgers, wings, pasta, fries, soups. All so depressing. I have been to many diners throughout NJ as I am a truck driver. I know my fair share of good places, bad places, and ones like the Roxbury diner that have been put to the top of my list as favorite places to go. From the welcoming staff to the amazing food, I look forward to eating there each and every time. I came in early this morning to order a breakfast sandwich. Safe to say it was better than any bagel store I have been to. Looking forward to trying more and more things off the menu and will be back soon. read more

Went for breakfast. Lovely sweet server but not much else good. Had the "the perfect flannel" omelette. Could really only taste the Swiss cheese which is probably a good thing because the corned beef hash in it was the minced stuff out of a can. Yikes. The diner served our drinks in unwashed dirty glasses with sticky like substance on the inside of the glasses. After addressing it the our server, all I got was a sorry. I did talk to a "manager" all I got from him was did you tell your server? No apologies , nothing ! The staff doesn't really care about the customers and the place wasn't even busy. My wife and I go to the Roxbury Diner Two - Three times a month. MY in-laws and also my best friend and his wife live around the corner from the establishment so in visiting them we usually stop there for something to eat. The diner in the past seamed to be Mediocre to GOOD. Recently we have noticed a decline in the QUALITY of the food. On Saturday January 21, 2017 not only was the food bad, the owner (GEORGE) treated us with Little to no respect at all. Whats worse he offered no solution and laughed and walked away. I ordered the lobster tail special that came with A stuffed mushroom and A stuffed shrimp. The Lobster Tail meat was not even the size of a silver dollar.The little plastic cup that the drawn butter came in was as big as the amount of lobster meat, The stuffing for the 1 Mushroom and the 1 shrimp was all bred that was not mixed with anything like crab meet or the anything else. the tiny shrimp and mushroom were totally encapsulated in this BRED like MUCK. What was even worst is the shrimp was not peeled. NOT JUST THE TAIL LEFT ON. It was unpeeled and totally covered in bred crumb muck. When brought to the attention of the Owner George he smiled and laughed and said NO one has complained about this special and then walked away. Not as much as an explanation or apology, NOTHING.We did not even ask to have the price of the meal taken off our check. Instead he disrespected us in an arrogant way. We would have been fine with all of this even though it was a sub-par meal if only the owner would have had the decency to treat us with respect as we did him and a simple sorry about that; would have went a long way. Went there for breakfast, as we have done many times. Asked for a table and we where seated in the dining room. The problem was the dining room was sixty degrees. We asked the waitress if the heat was not working, she went to the manager and he did nothing. It was to cold to sit there, so I paid for the coffee's and went some place else. Haven't been here in decades when it was Victoria Diner and was pleasantly surprised. Super quick service, food was excellent. I had breakfast, eggs and home fries, it was great. Will come here more often. Interior is a little outdated but as long as they keep slinging good food I'm OK with that, I did notice windows and the glass on the desert case could have been cleaned better. The atmosphere is cozy lots of holiday decorations that warm up the environment, from the cold chill weather of winter. Upon my experience my server Goran was exceptionally polite. Great for breakfast. I've been there several times in recent weeks and they always cook my eggs (over easy) perfectly. Teresa, the morning waitress, is so welcoming and attentive. My favorites are the eggs with ham steak or Canadian bacon. The coffee cups are tiny, and the steak knives are cheap and not helpful, but other than that I really appreciate this diner. read more
