The outside of the place isn't hard to find or see. When you look at it from the outside, it looks more like a tropical type of theme. Parking did seem pretty limited as they were busy when my mom and I got here. Based on that, parking can be severely limited during peak times. Once we came inside, it definitely looked like a tropical theme, which was easy to see throughout the place. Another big thing I noticed as soon as we came in (and remained the case the entire time) that it was excessively loud. It was hard to hear each other, and even our server. I never got over to the outdoor seating area as it was pretty busy. We were greeted by a hostess at the counter and we were immediately seated. With it being busy as it was, our server came over to the table and said she would be back shortly, though it was a bit longer than expected. Someone else came by to ask if we wanted water while waiting for her to come back and we both did that. Once she was able to come to the table, we weren't quite ready to order yet, but I did get the Bay Bloody Mary. The Bay Bloody Mary was good and did have a kick to it, as expected, though more than I thought. It was still good though. After a few more minutes, we were ready to order. I decided to go for The Lesner With a Waffle as the main course item, scrambled eggs, and bacon with Cheese Grits and a Fried Biscuit as the side items. My mom ordered the Jamaican Dark Rum French Toast entree with bacon and a fruit skewer. Given how busy it was, I was surprised that food came out about ten minutes later after ordering. The food looked really good and hot when it came out. I don't normally do a waffle, but that waffle was really good. I only put butter on it as I didn't want to add even more sugar to the meal already. The bacon was nice and crispy as requested. I wasn't sure how the Cheese Grits would be, but they were surprisingly good. The last item I had was the Fried Biscuit. Wow that one was a highlight for sure, though I won't do that one too often. My mom said the entree she had was good too and there were no issues. Overall, this was a good visit. I would give it 3.5 stars but rounding to 4 in this case due to the great food. The biggest negatives were the noise levels, as it was hard to talk to anyone there, and they automatically add an 18% tip for all transactions, regardless of party size. Given the circumstances, the service was good too. I will come back in the future, but maybe not on a weekend or around a holiday where it gets busier than normal. This place is worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for something to choose from to eat at.

Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. This location was extremely busy and packed when I visited, and honestly, that's usually a good sign...when a place stays that busy, clearly something is going right. What really stood out to me, though, was Colton. He went well beyond what I would normally expect from someone working the host/to-go area. He personally made sure my steak was exactly how I wanted it and genuinely seemed concerned about whether I was happy with my order. That type of customer service deserves recognition. He knows how to take care of customers, and in my opinion, he deserves a raise! I do think there is an opportunity for improvement when it comes to management. There was a manager positioned at the front during my visit, and while I obviously don't know her personally or whether she is generally a nice person, her disposition toward customers did not come across as particularly friendly or welcoming. More importantly, I noticed a clear difference in how warmly she interacted with certain customers versus others. When you're in a management position, customers should feel like they're receiving the same level of courtesy and hospitality across the board..you shouldn't pick and choose who gets the friendly version of you. It was especially noticeable because she remained at the front for much of the time, closely overseeing the hosts, so those of us waiting on to-go orders could clearly observe the differences in her interactions with different patrons. If you're going to be that visible and hands-on with your staff, I think it's even more important to model the same customer service you expect from them. Thankfully, Colton did exactly that. Despite how packed and hectic the restaurant was, he remained attentive, personable, and genuinely cared about making sure I left satisfied. Colton was absolutely amazing and was easily the standout of my experience. Management should recognize him because employees who care about customers like that are a huge part of why people come back.
