The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because there was a sermon underway when we arrived mid morning on a Wednesday. After a day I'm the snow this was a perfect place to stop and get lunch. Food was good, service was great, quick, the owner was attentive and they had the best hot chocolate for the kids! There's also a small area behind that you can play in the snow. Me and my husband had cheeseburgers and they were filling and good. Cute decor and there's a coffee bar. Surprisingly poor customer service. When we (two of us) arrived, the waiter brought us water but didn't ask if we wanted any other drinks. The restaurant wasn't very crowded. We were at the table for 10-15 minutes waiting for the waiter to take our order and when he finally came by he said that it would be an hour wait for our food because a school bus had just pulled up (after we got there) and placed a big order and the kitchen had just started cooking it. We were surprised to witness such a blatant disregard for the order of arrival, especially considering there were only two of us. We politely requested if it would be possible to expedite our order, given the circumstances, but to our dismay, the waiter refused and insinuated that we should leave. We travel through this area a lot and we'll make sure to warn people against The Rustic Table. Sincerely, two very hungry customers who would have tipped well. read more

This was soooo good. We stopped on our way through the area. Just a minute off the interstate, the building is deceivingly unimpressive, but the food is genuine 5-star quality. I had the brisket with macaroni and cheese and the brisket was tender, but smokey and crisp at the same time. The Parmesan and cheddar sauce for the macaroni was delicious. My husband had the chicken fried chicken with genuine homemade gravy and a side of sautéed mushrooms and squash. Everything was perfect. Another review recommended the Italian sodas and the menu listed customers favorite combinations. I had strawberry and vanilla and it was the perfect sweet, but light drink. Service was attentive and we chose to eat outside because it was a beautiful day. And amazingly surprising was that our bill was so affordable. Great food for a good price. So glad we stopped here. The food here is really good. The salads are fresh made and the fish tacos were generous and tasty. I couldn't eat all. The tortillas tasted homemade. My husband had a Chef's salad which was huge and tasty as well. Service was prompt and courteous. Downside was a worker washing down the entrance area with a power washer during most of our lunch. It was a Monday so maybe not so many customers but during lunch hour? Very noisy even after the windows were closed. We'd eat here again as long as the power washer guy isn't working. read more

Came here after some fun in the snow nearby. Place is small but cozy, with a good variety on the menu. However service was pretty slow even though the place wasn't busy, and we could see quite a few workers in the kitchen. The burger was really dry, the sandwich was dry too. We had to ask for a side of mayo to attempt to salvage it. Both our plates were served without fries even though it was listed on the menu. Maybe they ran out of them, but no one mentioned it when we were ordering. The clam chowder was very thick and salty. The kids food was ok. Our son ate his pancakes, our daughter didn't want to finish her French toast. Let's just say we've had better food. read more

Had a fabulous brunch here with my son and daughter-in-law last week. Cozy but uncluttered decor, absolutely wonderful coffee bar, and delicious food. My son and I opted for the French toast special which was cooked perfectly, filling and delicious. My daughter-in-law, a vegetarian, liked her omelette. I enjoyed a perfect Americano while my son and daughter-in-law tried a couple of the specialty coffee drinks, one with hazelnut and another with toffee. On par with the wonderful food was the excellent service that we received from our server, Josh. He made us feel like welcome guests in his own dining room. Just wish this place was a little closer. But we will certainly dine here again the next time we head to Tahoe. read more

A very quaint restaurant with a beautiful view of the mountains. Clean and well kept. The staff were very nice and food service was good, albeit a little slow. We came across this restaurant as the entrance to the RV resort we stayed at was blocked due to illegal parking! Because of that, we found this place! Super cute and cozy restaurant. We ordered hot chocolate, Mexican mocha and panda bear. It was so good!! For dinner, we had a Cesar chicken wrap, chicken fettuccini and biscuit and gravy (my kid loves bfast for dinner). The food was delicious! The decor was nice and service was awesome! I didn't get our waiter's name, but he was attentive, genuine and awesome! We definitely want to come back here again. Two weeks ago my boyfriend and I had dinner at the Rustic Table. The food was great and the people were even better. All the staff there make the experience so welcoming. I didn't realize what this place really was till one of the waiters told me about it. It's a center that men can learn life skills and learn about the love of Christ and watch how their lives can change in around 13 months. The men move through different departments such as housekeeping, to maintenance to kitchen to waiting tables to finally being a barista at the coffee shop. Each area requires them to perform at a certain level to before they can move on to the next department. Our waiter Kevin, was so out going and did such a wonderful job that alone it will bring me back again. The food was so good and it's so cool to know that the cooks are learning how to cook while being in the program Teen Challenge. To anyone that reads this post, please make this your stop along I80 and remember to give the guys a break, they get moved from one department to another very quickly so they can experience them all before making a permanent choice on where they want to work for the second half of there program. But most of all know that the money you spend here goes to helping change men's lives for ever. If you can dig deep into that wallet and throw some extra money their way, you never know if that dollar just saved a man's life. Thank you Teen Challenge for such a great all around experience. Tried this place out Sunday afternoon after a day playing in the snow. The staff was friendly, place very clean, and easy to find. The salads were fresh and really good. What I did like is they customized a meal for my 4 year old who wanted pancakes and cheesy eggs. I had a burger as well as my husband. My parents had a club and a turkey sandwich. The pancakes were ok but didn't taste very good so my daughter didn't eat them. My burger was really good but they overcooked my husbands. My dad had the clam chowder and he said it was good nut luke warm. We were never offered refills on our drinks. It seems like a small mom and pop place. It was okay and better then a fast food choice but I felt it could have been better. We will give them another try as maybe it was a off day for them.
