I was on a work trip to Riverside, CA and one of our customers suggested this restaurant. It did not disappoint. It's in a very unassuming location. We went right when it opened so it wasn't crowded but tables filled up quickly. The server was very friendly and attentive. We had Brussel sprouts appetizer and the balsamic drizzled bread. This was our first time visiting this restaurant after all the reviews and our friends telling us about this place we finally decided to try it! We came for dinner and it didn't disappoint us! The employees were super nice and helpful. My wife ordered the Braised Short Ribs. It came on a bed of Polenta which was smooth and creamy. The hugh peice of Short Ribs were cooked to perfection with a sauce that wasn't over powering! A few vegetables and a meal that was perfect. I ordered the Rustic Burger which was a half pound and on a brioche bun with all the extra goodies, cooked medium! One of the best burgers I have ever eaten! Kylie and Chelsea were fantastic. Very cheerful and friendly. Menu was intriguing with many rich and healthy options. The restaurant was louder than any I have encountered outside of a college dorm cafeteria. I am hearing impaired and generally do very well in loud places (50 years of learning how to block out background noise) and I was lost. My partner was struggling as well with the noise. Our food came out cold, but was quickly and kindly taken care of. Other than the host and server, no one else seemed very friendly. With not many options in the area we found this hidden gem, thanks to Yelp! The staff was extremely nice and welcoming, the Resturant had rustic decor down to the tea and was super clean! They don't have a liquor license so they can't make hard cocktails which was the only con but the drink was still very good and refreshing! The food was fresh and had tons of flavor! Our favorite was the starter of the grilled bread with oil & balsamic. It was grilled to perfection & had the right amount of sauce. How do you rate a place with great food but horrible ambiance? The light was so bright above our table, I was pretty sure that I was about to be interrogated by the authorities. If you need to take your grandma to dinner, no worries...she'll see her plate. However, grandma is going to be pretty unhappy about having to use the QR code to get to the menu. Having said that, the server was exceptional. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, but the busperson seemed like clearing empty plates and glasses was just a bit below him. The food? Fabulous! The short rib was perfection and it was really nice to get a lobster cooked (and seasoned) correctly after just being served a raw one at Duane's. My daughter loved her vegan burger. She even made her carnivore mother try it and I thought it was really good. Just be prepared that this is a very loud and bright restaurant. Not a romantic place, in my opinion. Was very excited about this place - went with a group of friends on a road trip. We're hoping for a quick and easy stop. Felt pretty taken advantage of by the end of it. Food was too expensive for a few of our team members so they just ordered coffees. Few price examples from their menu: Black Coffee($7); 3 eggs + 2 strips of bacon($22); eggs Benedict ($30-$45). The place wasn't busy - but it took about an hour to get our food. Server came by to refill water maybe twice within that hour. Food was good but multiple people had issues that they didn't voice because the wait was already so long. One persons steak was clearly burnt but she refused to send it back because she didn't want to wait any longer. I don't know if it's normal but I'm not used to places that add mandatory charges. We were charged 20% of total bill in a mandatory service charge and handed us the iPad with 18%, 20%, 25% tip options. The food was good. But the wait time, prices and paying an extra 38% minimum for bad service really sucked. read more

We decided to try out their brunch since they recently brought it back. Usually there is a wait and they take reservations, but we got lucky and were sat down right away. The hostess was quick and polite and the servers were nice. The food overall was a bit lacking. It was a hit and miss on some of the dishes: Crispy Brussel Sprouts - The starter came out really quick and they were at a good temperature. The brussel sprouts were cooked well and had a good char on them without having a really strong burnt taste. The bacon and sauce they used tasted great. Dish was seasoned well and would highly recommend offering if you decide to stop by. Chicken and Waffle - The chicken was tender and had a good flavor. The skin and batter was crispy but kept falling off. When I tried cutting the breast the breading would just separate. The waffle was very dense and tasted a bit undercooked. Everyone commented that it felt and tasted like a piece of hard bread. Wagu Benny - Steak was cooked well and was very tender. It came with potatoe cake instead of an English muffin which was a nice change. Eggs were poached perfectly. Fried potatoes were a bit mixed. The seasoning on them was great but they were a bit soggy. They looked like they were once crispy. Burger - Nice medium cook on it and buns we're good. Burger patty seemed a bit bland. It tasted like it was only seasoned on the outside. Shrimp and Grits - Very good and world recommend. Grits were creamy and cooked well. Shrimp was perfect. Had a good amount of sausage and tomatoes. When talking about this weeks date night, we decided to give dinner at the Rustk Fork a try. The restaurant was crowded and had a lengthy wait as we didn't make reservations. Prepared to wait, the hostess offered us seats in the bar area right away. Service was prompt and we were never made to feel like we were sitting in the bar area. We started with the bread plate, the bread had a great toast to the top, bottom was toasted in the brightest olive oil and finished with a flaky sea salt. The balsamic reduction was perfect, the perfect amount of acid to cut the olive oil and just thick enough stick to the bread. I decided on the braised short rib with polenta and seasonal veggies. The short rib was so tender and had great depth of rich flavor, like it had been cooking all day. The polenta was creamy, salty and exactly what the short rib needed. The green beans were fresh and light. Overall i loved it, I couldn't get my husband to stop snacking off of my plate. My husband decided on the surf and turf. He said the steak was seasoned well, shrimp were massive and grilled well. It was served with pearl couscous, good flavor and green beans. Overall thoughts, it was good and he would probably order it again but might ask for some salt (he's an over salted though so...) Lastly we tried the crème brûlée. First the size, we could share this and not like cutesy share but share this. It was delicious. The iconic caramelized sugar and delicious custard. There was nothing left. Great restaurant, but a bit on the pricey side. I love their concept of locally sourcing their ingredients. Also, keep in mind that they are by reservation only, at least according to the sign outside. I had the steak and added on shrimp as I really wanted to try the potato gratin. The steak was nice and tender, perfectly cooked. It came with a nice dollop of garlic butter on top. The shrimp was pretty tasty, however, I wish it had more of a char like some of the pictures had shown, but it looked like it was fried in a pan based on how it appeared. Still very plump and fresh. For an appetizer, we had the grilled bread which I would say is a pass at $5. It was drizzled with olive oil and balsamic but was still rather plain tasting and the cuts of bread were extremely thin. Overall, this place is a solid option if you're looking for a good meal. The flavors weren't too adventurous, but the preparation is very well done. As for the pricing, I did find it to be a bit pricey for what it was. The service was fantastic. read more

We've been wanting to try this place for a while now. Back when Covid started it seemed to always pop up in my recommendations. So after a long awaited time today was the day. We pulled into the private lot and there was plenty of parking. Walking in the place has a rustic steampunk vibe to it. Simple decor wide open. Choices of high table or low table and all metal chairs. Views inside are of the chefs working hard in their glass enclosed kitchen (think Hells Kitchen minus a bloody Englishman yelling). We sat down and water was brought to us within seconds. We started off ordering drinks and the goat cheese prosciutto wrapped dates. They were very good, my only qualm was that the dates needed a second layer of prosciutto (not a deal breaker). The wife ordered a sangria which was delicious and I ordered the Rustik razz drink. Both drinks were pricey $13+ and didn't have much alcohol, but they were delish. While enjoying these we ordered our main course. The wife ordered the goat cheese salad and I ordered the braised short rib with prawns. The meals came out in about 25 minutes and the presentation was elegant (see pictures). My wife's salad was pretty good. It had decent sized hamburger patty but the salad doesn't come with a dressing only a thick garlic aioli. My wife asked for a vinaigrette and they had a choice of blood orange or lemon, so she went with the lemon vinaigrette. It definitely needed that liquid. My short ribs also were good. The lacked a little flavor and quantity of Au Ju, maybe just some salt would've helped. I had two tiny carrots, two asparagus and some micro greens. The smoked Gouda was delicious but needed salt towards the end as well. They're dessert menu looked amazing but we did not have room. We will save room for next time. But be prepared to spend north of $100 for two people if you have an appetizer and drinks like we did. All in all we enjoyed our first visit and look forward to going again as seasonal items become available. read more
