Best service we've had in Kauai! The filet was perfectly cooked and the meals came out fast. Our server was incredibly welcoming and personable. Felt like home here at The Saddle Room. You need reservations via their website but they still got us in! Love this place - great place for early dinner then catch the amazing sunset at Kekaha Beach.

The restaurant had live music which was lovely. We sat in the lower area which was air conditioned. Our order got "lost" so food was delayed a bit. The garlic fries are to die for. My husband I thought they were possibly the best fries we've ever had. Burgers were good but not great.

As another helper submitted. The cheeseburger and a Bloody Mary is a good combo. And I fully concur. For a small charge your burger will come with a nice side of steak fries. Bartender will adjust the spiciness of the BM to your liking.just ask your server. Burger is a nice grass fed number. Nice and meaty patty and well cooked. ambience is nice and it's connected to Wrangler if u need a finer dining experience. Only separated by a door and ownership Stop in sometime on the way back from the pacific Grand Canyon for a delightful treat. And save room for the pie

We spent much of our trip dodging storms and floods in our rental Nissan Versa with no insurance coverage, so boy we're we glad to find some sunshine on the west side of Kauai. All that driving and angst made us pretty hungry so I looked up BBQ in Waimea and am so glad we found this place! It was a Sunday so we were relegated to the small bar area (there's a larger restaurant attached that is open throughout the week). The grill outside was fired up and manned by an employee flipping a number of Burger patties over a wood flame. Those are apparently the star of the show so we each got one. I got the BBQ and caramalized onion while my wife got the blue cheese. We both added garlic fries which was worth the upgrade. They have an extensive beer list and a great selection of cocktails as well. I went with a Maui POG IPA while my wife got the passion fruit Mai Tai. Unlike other places on the island, her drink had just a touch of juice and loads of rum. Would have given the place more stars, but the smoke from BBQ overtakes the whole place so we smelled of firepit for the rest of the day. Without a place to shower before jumping on our flight this wasn't ideal. Given all the rainstorms, the ocean was out as a rinse option as well! Sorry fellow flight passengers! Anyway, if you are adverse to the smell of bonfire, maybe make your order to go!!!

We stopped by this restaurant after our boat excursion. I'm so glad we did. It was delicious! We were greeted and seated right away. The employees are very friendly. I love the both the outside and inside of this place. Outside on the porch is where they grill your meat. Inside had good vibes and very chill. We had come at lunch time but we were told at night time they have music. We ordered the "Wrangler Burger" with garlic fries and ordered a rib eye which the grill for you once you order. The burger was tasteful. The rib eye though was delicious. It didn't have too much seasoning but just enough to be delicious. It was cooked to perfection. I definitely recommend this place and will definitely come back..... hopefully for dinner.

I was invited to do a Holiday Safety Training here as well as be part of the holiday luncheon, and it was beautifully decorated. The place wasn't open to the public so we had the space of ourselves, and even though it was a smaller space, it was still spacious enough that we weren't bumping elbows. There was one person working, and she was our waitress/bartender.. she was absolutely awesome! She was really friendly and attentive the whole time; our cups were always filled with water and she kept asking if we wanted another drink. The food.. my prime rib was absolutely delicious- flavorful and tender! The person next to me had the fish option, and another person had the vegetable dosh.. everything smelled so delicious- I was especially intrigued by the vegetable dish because it was veggies with pasta mixed in a pesto sauce.. I will definitely come back to try other items on their menu and recommend you stop by if you're in the area.

Great new bar in Waimea that's similar to a gastropub with a country twist. We tried several of their fancy drinks including the Moscow Mule, the bloody mary with peppered bacon, the spiked Palmer and the specialty pickle mango martini and they were all delicious and very reasonably priced. The food was amazing too! We ordered the bone marrow, pork tinono and wrangler burger and the food was all excellent. I'd highly recommend giving this place a try for drinks and/or food. read more

Pretty good spot. Usually come here for taco Tuesday's. But today went in to get some drinks with my wifey and the mojito was watered down, and I got an ipa in a bottle and asked for a glass to poor it in and it wasn't even chilled. Pretty disappointed. read more

Wow. Really, really good. We are visiting Kauai and after a long day of exploring, wanted some hearty grub so looked on Yelp for a good Burger place. This popped up as we were driving thru the town and we are really glad we stopped! ***Fair warning*** This establishment shares walls with Western Wrangler... Which strangely serves no burgers or beer on tap, and if you aren't looking for the Saddle Room, may not find it. It is run by the Western Wrangler's daughter. Man, she has done a great job. Their portions are not gargantuan, which was kind of a relief from typical fattening Hawaiian fare. It's just right, and cooked fresh, and really, really well. Everything is well seasoned. We had a lava cake for desert. My only curiosity is that the lava cake had no lava in the middle: the lava was sprinkled on the plate. The atmosphere is terrific, and they have live musicians working with the crowd (it's a small room). Everyone seems to know everyone, so it's a great place to make new friends if you're looking for new acquaintances. Definitely make your way here if you are traveling the island or just looking for a great weekend time and experience! read more

This had a western feel. It was nice to have a sit down restaurant after eight seeing and shopping with my family. We shared the Mac nut ice cream on a thick chocolate cookie crust that was perfect for the afternoon. My kids and I had chicken quesadillas and the salad bar which included soup? Jello and lettuce. I was just happy to be in Kauai. read more

We stumbled upon this place. It's fun and the people are nice. We sat at the bar and I sat on one of the saddle seats. At first it didn't hurt but towards the end of the meal, my leg was getting numb. But this is not their fault. We ordered: Butterfish sandwich Daikon burger Both were really good. The butterfish is not really "buttery" so don't be fooled by the name. ;) We had no complaints about the food. It's a fun place to eat or just hang out. read more

The staff is amazing. Atmosphere is charming and food is delicious. This was our first time visiting as we were tourist on the island. We could not have enjoyed our lunch anymore after a strenuous hike at the Canyon. I had a burger and my husband selected his own steak which he thoroughly enjoyed, I heard how delicious it was multiple times that day. The adult beverages were also quite delicious! read more

We love Saddle room; its our go to Sushi in the westside. They are also improving by the min- I would go so far to say they are headed to be the best sushi spot on the island! Its honestly incredible the amount of growth/ sophistication strides they have made since they have opened their sushi menu. They get best/ best quality fish selections period. I am truly so glad that we continued to go and are seeing their success first hand. Now lets get into their amazing sushi which btw mostly comes from Japan: Toro Sashimi (we love so much we usually get 3-4 orders), ahi nigiri (great and in line with other two high end spots on the island), hamachi nigiri (pretty good and we usually get the sashimi option as well), Madai nigiri (delicious and they are the only ones we've found it with in kauai so far), unagi (same as ahi), sake (same as ahi), saba (delicious and best we've had in kauai), kenpachi (delicious!!), Kani (delicious) and Amaebi (incredible and they are the only ones we've had it with as well) and Wagyu (also best on the island!). We truly love our splurge family dinner here and I highly highly recommend them for Sushi!! One more of our go tos is the pupu platter; which never disappoints and all items are executed well. Our kids love their sushi as well as their teriyaki dishes. If you are on the west side or looking for the best sushi on the island give them a try, trust me (worth the drive and $)! read more

Have been several times to this little bar/burger joint in Waimea and it has been consistently good. Burgers well-cooked, garlic fries delicious! Service always aloha and the mix of locals and hikers/beachgoers friendly and fun. Last time we were there they had an excellent duo singing and playing ukelele and guitar. read more

I am so grateful for the Saddle Room. There are not many delicious spots to eat late on the weekends on the west side. Their meat is cooked to perfection with a flavor you really can't get anywhere else. When you come as often as I do, you feel like the staff are old friends. The garlic fries are a must upgrade! Not too salty and the right amount of softness and crispiness. I tend to get the classic burger, but I have tried the steak salad too. And my husband had the Kalbi special, which are Korean marinated short ribs. They have a full bar and fun music. They are always busy, but we have never had to wait long. And the food come fast. Love it here! read more

Buy the tshirt. A. It's wicked cute and b. It's the most non-touristy shirt that you will buy in Hawaii. This is a family run business. As a daughter of a family business I am very impressed with what the owner has done (daughter of the business). She also did an amazing job with the decor. Keean (sorry spelling?) was the most friendliest bartender, which is a bold statement because everyone is friendly here at this place. We found this place because we were driving with our windows down and followed the smell of wood fire BBQ. If you are returning from Waimea Canyon, this is a must stop for either food or just a drink. Passion fruit Mai Thais were amazing! read more

We had the most deliciously strong Mai tais. I think I'd go back just for those. We also had the steak (good but doesn't come with any sides!) and the loaded fries. There was live music which we enjoyed. read more

Great burgers and great drinks! The pupus are delicious as well. We had the bone marrow and pork titinono to start and the wrangler burger to finish. The burger was cooked perfectly topped with thick bacon. Loved the pickled mango martini and the Alcoholic Arnold Palmer. read more

Wow - Everything was fantastic. The peppered bacon in the bloody mary was so crunchy! Even after sitting in my drink for a few minutes the bacon was still crisp! My husband and I both had burgers - and we were both extremely pleased with the juicy burgers grilled to perfection. The garlic fries were just a good as the other Yelpers said. I regretted not getting them and ate half of my husbands. The service was fast and very friendly. You don't have to be a local to get the Aloha spirit here. The Saddle Room is easy to miss, but it is attached to The Wrangler which is easy to see. The parking is in the back and you can walk through The Wrangler to get to The Saddle Room. If you get a drink with salt on the rim ask for the special local salt with a sweet flavor added. read more

Excellent is a word to describe The Saddle Room. As my 9 year said after just one bite, "You can't find a delicious burger like this anywhere." There are 5 of us in the family and we all tried different burgers. Each of us called it our favorite. The wood bbq grill adds such flavor to the burgers. The garlic fries were a great addition. Definitely get them!!! The drinks were delicious. We tried the Mule drinks and the Bloody Mary. To get a Hawaiian twist to the Moscow Mule try the one with Passion Fruit Vodka. The Bloody Mary has their homemade tomato juice base. Yum! The staff was so attentive, helpful, and super friendly. Would absolutely come back!! read more

Fantastic food and atmosphere. If you go at night, understand that it's located at the end of Wranglers Restaurant despite maps showing it up the road a bit. We circled the block looking for it as it doesn't have lit signage so you can pick it out from the Wranglers building. We were definitely tourists among the regulars, but were well received by the wait staff. Small seating area, but simple and fun decor. The burger and fries were fantastic -- simple offerings, but very well done. The burger was very juicy and full of flavor, kissed with just the right amount of charcoal smoke. I wish I had eaten lighter during the day so I had room to try the Hawaiian Sweet Bread Pudding -- all the more reason to visit again if I ever get back to Kauai. And yes, as other posts have mentioned, the shirts are great --- but they were all out, so I'm hoping I can get one shipped once they are back in stock. read more

I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews... My parents, boyfriend, and I found this place after a long day in Waimea Canyon. Lots of hiking, some of it unplanned, 3 out of 4 of us were bleeding (long story)...you get the idea. Time for a drink. We happened upon this place based on reviews of a couple sites, and man, I'm glad we found it! My extra-spicy bloody mary totally hit the spot...as did the Moscow mule I followed it with. Everybody else's drinks/wine/beer were great. And the food! DELICIOUS! The burgers and garlic fries were perfection! Pleasant, efficient service. Great food and drinks. VERY fair prices given the location. If I lived closer, I'd have a new neighborhood haunt. Highly recommended! read more

Luckily and gladly my husband and I stopped by this place for dinner tonight during our trip in Kauai. Everything went above and beyond: FOOD, DRINKS, and SERVICE! Wrangler burger with garlic fries is awesome, the special version of Moscow mule is fantastic, and more importantly, the staff there are super nice, having great menu recommendations and checking on whatever you need frequently. All in all, we're impressed by this restaurant, which only opens Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Would love to come back again if we get a chance. read more

We decided to stop at this little bar based on other Yelp reviews, and we were not disappointed. I had the lamb burger, which was perfectly seasoned and very tasty. Others in the crew had various hamburgers that they loved. It was great service, great atmosphere, and a perfect ending to a long morning of hiking. read more

Great night at a great little place . We had the steak , garlic fries , Portabella mushroom burger, chicken wings & calamari. All the choices were perfect and yummy .... Drinks : Moscow Mule with the passion fruit was delicious. We decided in a whim to stop here and feel lucky to have had the experience at this cute place . We listened to a local singer Michelle who played live with another singer (did not get his name ) and they were amazing . Perfect night in a perfect town. Thanks to the locals for showing us a great time . We will be back . read more

This was a unique dining experience. We stopped for lunch and were seated in a quaint area for lunch. The dinner area looked intriguing with many old western artifacts. 3 ordered hamburgers and 1 ordered a chicken sandwich. All were cooked on an outside grill over wood in the front of the restaurant. These were the best burgers we've had and we live in Texas. It was worth the upgrade for the garlic fries. I would definitely recommend this if you want a unique dining experience. read more

Burger was good. Salad bar leaves a lot to be desired. We got into trouble because we waited 4 minutes at the unattended desk and then seated ourselves at one of the many empty tables. We then got ignored for 12 minutes by passing wait staff. We were getting ready to leave when a grumpy hostess came over. Things went smoothly after that. read more

I've been to Kauai many times but somehow never found this place. Actually found it by accident when trying to go to Wrangler's next door. Good sized burgers and nice staff. Drinks in mason jars, modern but casual decor. Garlic fries are excellent. But if you like your burgers well-done, speak up! Medium rare seems to be the norm, so if you like juicy, this is for you. read more

Nice service, restaurant opens later than regular Kauai places! I got midori sour and my gf got a Hawaiian drink, forgot name but it was sweet and yummy and fruity with vodka :) the food was alright, I got pork belly and that was super greasy--obviously right? Lol. There's no restroom in the bar but there is a restroom next door in the steakhouse restaurant. read more

Burgers were tasty but small. And they charged a $1 for a tiny amount of ranch. The meat on display looked horrific, I think it might be a good idea to take the browned and gray meat out. They cooked the burgers in the front of the restaurant which was a little different. Overall, not the best meal but there were not many choices out this way. read more

Great spot and awesome attended staff. Gift shop attached. Very cute building! I have celiac disease and they let me get a salad from the salad bar. Yummy marinated Diacon (sp) to top off the salad and a bun- less mushroom and blue cheese burger. That are normal prices! read more

It was a good portion, but they packed it so high in a bowl that you could not get to the chips that were under all the toppings and everything kept falling on the table when you tried to get to the chips. It would've been nice if it were on a platter and easy to access the chips and all the toppings. The table service was bad. They took our orders for drinks and food and we didn't hear out of them until he came back and wanted to know if we wanted shots, in a joking manner. We were four adults with two children under six. They also charge a 20% gratuity on parties of six or more, have to pay for bad service. We also were seated on the patio feet from the live music. There was no conversation at the table as we had to compete with the live music and no other option for seating. The merch is too expensive, at the high end here but higher than similar businesses. First and last time for us, being on vacation will try something different.

A bunch of class of '86 classmates got together for an informal reunion. It was such a great experience... mainly reconnecting with old friends in a casual local karaoke bar setting. The floorpan is simple. It's one large room with a large bar on the opposite wall from the entrance. From what my friends told me, Troy's doesn't offer any dishes. However, you are allowed to bring your own. There are rows of tables that hints to luau party/community style seating. I also ran into Norvin, the big buffed security guy who is an old buddy from Kauai High School. I believe Troy's may be one of the few places that closes late. Everyone at Troys were having a good time. Positive vibes all da way bruddah.

Great fries. Friendly staff. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of food for the price. The relish was delicious. My daughter didn't care much for her chili dog, but everyone else in the family enjoyed the corn dogs, hamburgers, French fries, and onion rings. A good burger, with good onion rings.
