If you're looking for something a little more unique in Riverside, this is the spot. I appreciate the fusion mix. Here's what we had: + I went for the mocktail called Kaya Kolada. It's basically an ube drink with coconut. Great taste if you're looking for a tropical drink. + Scallop crudo was where I took off a star. While it's different, the sauce overpowered the scallops a little too much in my opinion, so you couldn't really taste any of the scallops or how fresh they were. + My boyfriend thought the falafel burger was good. + I loved the sea bream. Very fatty and everything is well balanced with the sauce and toppings.
The food was really good, I ordered the lamb and it was well cooked and seasoned. The cocktails are super cute they put a jack-o'-lantern face on the Martini and dehydrated pineapple slice. We also ordered the pork belly sandwich. Which also was good minus the jalapeños. Our service was a little slow, but our waiter was very nice but it came to a point where we would go to the bar to order a drink to try to make things move a little quicker. It's a fun spot kudos to the bartender and being creative love that!
I'm so happy they have a new location close to The Mission Inn. It's a short walk from there. I took my husband for his birthday and this was a great place to stop. We sat at the bar and ordered dirty fries. It's a large portion and was more than enough for both of us. The beer, drink and wine selection is great. Our bartender was attentive and even exchanged a drink for me. The restaurant has a good layout and the vibe is good. We will definitely be back.
FUN FACT: I came here (their old location) manyyyy years ago for my 18th birthday! With fond memories, I decided to checkout their new pretty location near Mission Inn. The decor is beautiful!! My favorite is always the macaroni & cheese! It never disappoints. The perfect amount of gooey cheese and flavor. We also tried the Salmon Laab, which I loved! It is on the sour side, but it definitely has classic Lao flavors. Reminds me of home! For my main entree, I tried the Date Night Burger. They do not skimp on any of the ingredients! Generous sized burger patty and veggies. I do wish it had more date jam though. At the end of the day, the dirty fries really stole the show! Their fries are similar style to In-N-Out fries, but topped with GARLIC CONFIT and cheese??? Sooo deliciously simple. I wouldn't spend $15+ for it... but +$3 on my entree? sure.
Just like the mneumonic, Never Eat Soggy Waffles for north east south west, Salty Pig needs a lot of help in multiple directions. Their food is overall OK/meh. But they severely lack in other parts of meal service. We had the burger with dirty fries, bone marrow, and the waffle. The burger was OK, but afterwards we both agreed that Shake shack would've ended up with a happier outcome for the amount of time and money. The bone marrow was roasted nicely to fulfill a bone marrow craving however the tragic star of the show was a terrible waffle. The waffle fully lived up to the never eat soggy waffles phrase. Awful in presentation and okay in taste. For a better idea of what the texture of the waffle tasted like, I'm pretty sure the continental breakfast waffle at a motel 6 would be comparably better in crisp. We came for a Sunday lunch, of which we had about a 15 minute wait to get seated. However, when seated , we noticed that there were several empty tables. We suspect that today's service was understaffed and so they were trying to space out diners. We had a 40+ minute wait from ordering to receiving our first dish. This wait does NOT include the time we waited to get seated. What was more shocking is that the waffle was the last dish to be served and 5 min longer to bring out. I would like to say that our table was an outlier but our surrounding neighbors also suffered from the same 40+min wait times. I think it would have been helpful if staff just acknowledged/gave a quick "I'm sorry" for the long food prep times along with a subpar service. Bottom line: I left Salty Pig sort of feeling like the guests that attend the dinner service on Hell's Kitchen...only here, the food didn't make up for the long wait time.
Had lunch here right when they opened. We thought they were still closed because the door was hard to open. But the host opened the door for us apologizing saying door is heavy. We ordered a bloody mary for starters and it was made really well. Also ordered the chicharron and it was really good. I had the pork belly sandwich with dirty fries. Pork was so tender and delicious. The dirty fries were very good. The catsup they served was really good. They make their own catsup here. We also had a falafel sandwich. The falafel was very tasty and not dry. Will definitely come back here again if I ever visit this place.
My main problem with this restaurant is that when we dined at lunch on a weekend they were already out of 4 items on their menu; which the menu is already small to begin with. Food was good. I enjoyed my avocado toast even though it was a bit messy to eat. My whole table enjoyed their food as well. The fries are a MUST HAVE if you like cheese and roasted garlic. Our waitress was awesome and made sure we were always taken care of. The bathroom situation is a bit weird with a communal area for washing hands that people in the dining area can look in on. I would suggest making that more private because it felt wrong having people watch me wash my hands. Overall it was a good lunch with yummy food but we were all severely bummed on the missing menu items.
Really excited to try this place during my first time in Riverside! Seemed to be highly rated, modern, and exciting. Went early to the Mission Inn Festival of Lights and caught their 2-5pm Happy Hour. Just a heads up that their HH food menu is pretty slim. Service was very kind and attentive, helping pick menu items. The place was very aesthetically decorated. There seemed to be a mix of folks there with laptops to study along with folks at the bar there for drinks and light bites. We got the dirty fries and the burger. Both were pretty delicious. Surprisingly, my favorite part was that the side salad had the best tasting dressing I've ever had. The cocktail I got was on the smaller side in terms of portion, but it was unique and herbal without being too sweet. I wish I could try it outside of their HH period!
I was a first time customer at the Salted Pig this past Friday night. I had high hopes for this place since my cousin raves about how good the food is. When we arrived we were seated immediately, the waitress was great! The ambience was nice; background music was tolerable, not too loud that you couldn't hear yourself converse. For starters, we shared the dirty fries which were good but I wasn't blown away for they were saturated with cheese and roasted garlic cloves; the garlic was the best part. Needless to say; too much cheese. Moving on.. My cousin ordered the pulled pork, which he rated a 7.5 out of ten, there was not very many options for vegetarians so the Falafel sounded appetizing. For those who don't know, Felafel are typically round, soft, and gently lightly crusted on the outside, with a drizzled of a good savory sauce, sounds good right? NOT Unfortunately for me, I received jaw breaking falafel balls which I could only take one bite of. The waitress was very polite and displayed great customer service when I told her about my next dentist I had to make (kidding) she did not hassle me, instead, she was apologetic and removed the dish, she then asked if I wanted another item on the menu, I kindly declined. Oh I forgot to add, the dressing was mayo. The taste was exactly as the mayo you scoop out of a jar. Great customer service, the food however, could use some polish.
My friend invited me here as she typically comes often. We came during the happy hour which I found to be a great deal and overall good pricing. The drink menu and the food menu goes on the happy hour. I really enjoyed the food it was refreshing and just tasted different. Service went well too, it was slow but in general when I visited it was a slow day period. I really loved the inside of the place it's super cute and has great lighting inside. I will return!

I LOVE the Salted Pig!!! I have been coming for years for the Bloody Mary and dirty fries!! The service is friendly and the server is attentive. The vibe is super chill, a great place to come and have drinks and good food!!
kinda bummed I'm just now trying this place. They're really freaking good! From service, to inside decor, to food, this place does it right. Had a mimosa with grapefruit juice, the really good burger & some cheesecake. Everything tasted delicious - service was friendly all day and everyone did a good job at always making sure our table had water refilled. Definitely a good spot for a small group, a date, or catching up with a friend. Saturdays & Sunday's they have a brunch menu, but you can also order off their normal menu. They change menus periodically throughout the year.
Incredible modern restaurant! The interior design is unique and sleek while the customer experience is phenomenal. Pork belly sandwich had a huge piece of meat and I couldn't stop eating the popcorn and the Brussels sprouts. The cheese fries were tasty as well! The burger was amazing as well! Highly recommend for anyone in the Riverside\LA areas. The parking is the only thing you need to drive around for but there are plenty of street parking and garages. You definitely have to walk there but it's worth it. read more
Casual, classy, slightly hipster atmosphere with some very creative cocktails and a decent selection of craft beers. On the ocassion I was here they happened to have Pliney the Elder and Pliney the Younger (rare) on the menu. We were just grazing and had the "Dirty Fries", hand cut fries with a delicious English cheddar sauce and sprinkled with confit garlic and chives. I would highly recommend this as a snack or appetizer. The staff is friendly, attentive and professional. It is located on the promenade just across from the Historic Mission Inn hotel. read more
Decided to drop in here on my lunch break, I was very surprised with the menu options. The drink menu looks amazing, I watching the bartender make a few drinks, and let me tell you he makes them with a purpose, very well crafted drinks. The food menu is very diverse, and the taste was outstanding. I tired the Bibimbap with pork belly, the pork belly literally melts in your mouth, the plate was bursting with flavor. Came here for dinner on a Thursday night, made reservations just in case it was packed. It was a very fancy, trendy ambiance. It almost felt like spot that turned into a bar/club later in the night (not sure if it actually does). I ordered the Mushroom banh mi + Mac & cheese side, which was delicious! Banh mi is definitely a fancier gentrified sandwich compared to an authentic banh mi but it's exactly what I expected and I really enjoyed the mushroom flavor and it was packed with veggies. The mac and cheese side was SO good and I think it was the same portion size as the mac and cheese appetizer so price wise I'd get it as a side. This is the perfect brunch spot! Huge full bar, esthetic, friendly staff and great food! It's located in downtown riverside and you really have to know where you are going as you will miss their very small sign out in front. The vibe is 10/10 along with the food. I'm pretty sure I wrote a review. Maybe they didn't like what I said and got it removed lol Service was non-existent. We had a reservation, we sat down, ordered our drinks, waited and waited. Ordered our food. It was okay. Mediocre at best. No one ever came back to check on us or asked us if we wanted more drinks. I was there for a girls weekend. We were ready to drink. I think I'm more annoyed now that my review was removed. The dirty fries and Brussels were pretty okay. I got the glazed duck. It was ehh. I think the service is what turned me off of the whole thing. Final thought: over priced, bad service, mediocre food. Don't come if you're looking to have more than one drink. read more
Ok... Um.. this is like a really trendy spot with welcoming vibe. There's not much selection in the menu but a wide variety of alcohol choices. Feels more like a dating spot than a eating place. I think the price is a bit expensive for what you are getting ... almost $30 a person per entree with no alcohol, and this is not really restaurant quality food, more like small bites. It's not bad or good, I guess just depends on what you are looking for.. read more
This place does not take reservations. There was a 30 min wait on a Thursday night. We walked around and came back after receiving a texted. Idk if they were a little slammed because they were busy. But it took us a while to be acknowledged when we sat down. At least ten minutes. We were close to walking out but glad we didn't because the food was really good. Just know they won't move fast there. We happened to go on tiki Thursday. They had a decent happy hr menu with tacos and tiki drinks. read more

Been here twice, cute interior and trendy place to eat. They have a rotating menu which keeps it fun. Also seasonal cocktails - my fave was the pink elephant. As for the current summer menu, I enjoyed the snow peas (it's as good as it looks) and the grilled peach salad. Bone marrow looked really good but we were underwhelmed by the amount of actual bone marrow in each bone. Be sure to make reservations as it can get busy! read more

Came here for lunch. Had the Cold Sub with the dirty fries which was excellent, but the award goes to the house-made ketchup, a mixture of tangy, sweet, and spicy. The bartender Clayton was super friendly which created a great atmosphere. I paired this all up with a draft of Pliny the Elder which put the accent on it all. I'll be back for sure! read more

Oh for the love of Carnies...this place screams get in my belly! The bacon fat popcorn.... Definitely not the worse thing I've had in my mouth...The pork belly sandwich was straight breakdance Vietnam! The service, speed of delivery and quality of food dropped kicked my food lust from wham bam thank you ma'am to whap slap no thanks Jack...fully satiated...the atmosphere was the dopest dope I've ever smoked! I felt so good I could swear I was in a canary yellow Camaro, with my hair feathered, my pants pleated and listening to Gun N Roses... This place has all the pieces to be a delicious and great experience but misses the mark. Came for brunch on a Saturday around noon and there was no wait to be seated. The brunch menu is relatively small but has a decent selection of sweet and savory staples. We went with the PBLT and Juevos. For a place with "salted" in its name everything was severely under seasoned. The pork belly in the sandwich was a bit tough and didn't melt in your mouth like the good stuff should. Happy the sandwich came with a side of potatoes because if we had paid the $8 they were charging for the side of soggy potatoes we received we would have been quite disappointed. The juevos was prepared well, but again it was like they used zero salt or pepper on anything. It took a bit too long for our food to come out of the kitchen (almost 30 minutes) and our water glasses tasted like soap. Service was friendly, but the service does not make a meal. For the prices, difficulty of parking and overall experience I wouldn't really recommend coming here. Maybe dinner is better, but we probably will not be back. read more

I used to come here years ago before they switched locations. Was not like what I remembered. We came right at 5pm when they opened on a Saturday and were lucky to get a table. I'd recommend getting a reservation if you're coming in a Saturday. I went with the pork belly samich with dirty fries and my gf had the steak and potatoes. They brought me my samich and fries without ketchup, cuz you know, that makes so much sense. The samich was tasty. The fries didn't have much cheese on it, and most of it sank to the bottom below the tower of fries. Nothing special about the fries in my opinion. My gf enjoyed her steak and potatoes. Service was ok. Our waitress was very nice and friendly, but our second drink order took a bit long to come out, and I already mentioned the ketchup fiasco. Prices are a bit high. Overall the food is decent I guess, but not sure I'll be coming back any time soon. read more

I had to breakfast Chilaquiles with pork belly, they were off the chain. Plenty of flavor the red sauce was well seasoned had looked kicked to it. The chips were nice and crunchy and pork belly was on point. It was top with some sliced radishes and pickled onions so good. I tried the bloody Mary, which was also on point. The bloody Mary mix wasn't too thick, but just right the service was outstanding. I would go back and enjoy another meal. read more

Surprising place in middle of downtown riverside. Their menu seems to rotate and seems to have a little Asian influence. Food was pretty decent with our favorite being the pork shank! The fries were also really good. We liked them dirty. Interesting take on bone marrow dish where it tasted like pizza. Only thing was the duck curry was very salty. Service was great as they offered options to accommodate for the salty dish. They were also very friendly. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in downtown! read more
Well I had this saved for awhile to go check out. Glad I did, but won't return. Customer service was very nice. Popcorn in pig fat and brown sugar now this was awesome!! Butter rum drink, was good, waitress said it was sweet so to get it cold instead of hot. She was correct, was sweet Pork belly sandwich, ok but had a weird after taste Loaded fries, good very salty.. I like salt so was fine for me. Others at my table not so much Burger was ok, not much sauce on it so dry. Mac n cheese, again a weird after taste. Almost like cauliflower, looked wasn't in the recipe. Lunch menu also not much to pick from. Dinner probably better. Three of us with tip came to $140. Pricy read more
The food wasn't bad. I ordered the: Roasted Brussels sprouts (Didn't like it) Patatas Bravas (delicious) Bacon Fat Popcorn (exactly what it sounds like and it taste pretty good) Crispy Pork Belly Larb (it was ok) Wanderer Steak (delicious) Mac n cheese (worst dish) Ambiance is nice but doesn't fit the theme. The music also doesn't fit the theme, I thought I was eating at Johnny rockets. If you're packing junk in the trunk (you got wide hips) the bar top is not for you. I way 220 plus and the chair was hugging my waist like a prom date. Not comfortable at all. Drinks weren't bad The bartenders are good, they just take a little longer to acknowledge you. You make eye contact and they turn quick hahaha Two minutes or two bites is normally the rule but we're just getting out of COVID so I get it. read more
I visited on a Sunday at 5pm and was seated immediately. Note: we were sat outside since the inside was "completely booked." If you'd like to sit inside I would recommend calling ahead or making a reservation. We visited for my cousin's birthday weekend. Their service was great all around, staff was attentive but not overwhelming and great with requests. We did not order drinks since we had drank earlier and just wanted dinner. We ordered the MSG burger with a side salad, the classic burger with Mac n cheese and a side of the twisted fries. The beef patties were delicious. I think they might be pressed in house. But am not 100%. This was definitely a good burger. The MSG burger has bacon, is really thick cut and not really crispy but has great flavor. I loved the coleslaw that it comes with. My cousin kept complementing the beef patty on the classic burger. The buns are brioche buns and very filling. The salad was very flavorful thanks to the dressing. The mac n cheese tasted very simple and homemade which I appreciated. I usually love all mac n cheese but this was classy, I liked it. The fries were delicious! They had melted cheese and garlic aioli which had whole pieces of garlic as well. Overall I think I will come back again if I'm in the area. I've heard of The Salted Pig being a staple in Riverside and glad I finally tried it. The interior of the location is super cute and chic. I went with a friend and we shared the Dirty Fries and White Bean Salad which is on the appetizer menu, both were super delicious and I really enjoyed the dishes. We also both got the I had the Don't Miss Me drink and I loved it. Was very impressed by the food and drinks. The service was also great. We went at 6 and we were able to get a table right away. Would recommend if you're in Riverside. read more

A couple suggestions on what to get: the Pig Board is AMAZING! If you like charteurie boards, you need to get this! Their candied bacon and mostarda is to die for! Perfect sweetness and crispyness. And it's not just these, there is so much variety on the board and everyone loved everything on it. We also got the steak of the day, the butternut squash tagliatelle, and the rainbow radish and pear salad which is super refreshing and sweet to balance the heavy meal. The interior is so modern and clean. Love the design and every detail. The staff was really good about COVID precautions. I see them sanitizing every menu after every use. And all the staff were wearing masks. The outdoor dinning area is marked off in an open plaza (not a parking lot or next to the street). All in all, 5/5 read more
Caught up with a friend here for dinner and we were in for a treat! Their new interior design and furniture was just the cherry on top of the good service and amazing food that we had at the Salted Pig. My friend and I shared a nice bottle of white wine and their Dirty Fries, not pictured bc we just couldn't wait... I got the MSG Burger with a side arugula salad and it was the perfect combination of melty, fatty goodness and freshness for a Friday night!! I would definitely come back here for this burger and their special made ketchup alone! read more

First time coming on a friday late afternoon. We ordered the bone marrow, it comes with sour dough bread and had sweet and spicy sriracha, really loved this one! Must try! Also ordered just their regular burger with fries, we told them we are sharing everything because we're not that hungry and they actually served it in halves/ separate plates,i think that was so thoughtful of them instead of just giving us extra plates. The vibe was cute and cozy, place was small but the spacing between customers were decent. read more

Tried this place out for dinner & was pleased with my overall experience! The service was super nice and polite. They didn't have one of the options I wanted, but the waiter recommended a different option. I ended up ordering oyster mushrooms, bone marrow, beef short rib, and duck tamales. Everything was suuuuper tasty! The mushrooms were cooked perfectly but were a tad salty. I really liked the sriracha pairing with the bone marrow. The short rib was SUPER tender, though I wish the serving size had been a little bigger. The star of the night was the duck tamale with mole; the mole was sooo rich and creamy! It's been a while since we have been here. The Salted Pig got new bar stools-yay! Very comfy. Make sure to check in with the front so they can seat you at the bar. I have always been impressed with the staff here. Our bartender made a beautiful and delicious Hendricks traditional martini tonight-frozen glass and lemon rind twist over the drink. As usual, we got the sweet, salty, smokey Bacon Popcorn-a must here! We also had Caesar salad and Mac and cheese-both delicious. As I said at the top of the review, the staff here is just so thoughtful and attentive. No fewer than six staff served us and asked if we needed anything-excellent service. read more

I've been to their old location years ago, and had brunch here at the present location last Sunday. I had the PBLT, which came with choice of fruit, salad or fries (I got fries of course). The bread was buttery, pork belly wasn't too fatty, and it was a delicious sandwich but very filling. My friend had the endive salad, which sadly she didn't really appear to enjoy; and her kids had the French toast and kid's breakfast (scrambled eggs, toast and bacon). They offer a kid's menu in addition to the regular brunch menu. The kids' meals looked tasty, and the fruit (blueberries & blackberries) appeared fresh as well. I recommend coming here for a leisurely brunch & drinks if you're in the area. read more

This place use to be amazing last I remember it around 2010, I think now with the new ownership the flavors have changed. Food is still good but the Menu use to be larger and more pig related I should say. Service is okay but the front were pretty rude a night we came in so we had to try it during the day and the gentlemen was nicer. Ambiance is cute and a pretty large place now since they moved locations. Kinda sad they no longer have the Bacon Ice Cream and Bone Marrow is more of a Dinner Menu. I recommend getting here early enough for Dinner and not too late where they don't want to seat 2 people for the least even at the Bar. Be aware Brunch, Lunch and Dinner Menu's are all super different now. read more

visiting this establishment was not disappointing. i came in on a friday night and there was no wait. having just changed their menu last week, there was not much to go off of in terms of recommended dishes on yelp. i went with what sounded good, and what sounded good was very, very good. we ordered the charred octopus, white bean salad, and rosemary sourdough for starters. for mains we went with the falafel pita, halibut fillet, and the cavatelli. my only qualm with the food was the charred octopus. with an uneven char, parts of the bite remained squishy and almost tasted a bit raw. i would have preferred to been served a more charred dish to ensure this didn't happen, but i understand the octopus shriveling into rambunctious shapes makes it difficult to navigate an even sear. the falafel in the pita also could have been a bit more crumbly, imo, and i would have liked it doused in a bit more tzatziki (personal preference). however, the rest of the dishes i enjoyed with no protestation. cavatelli was absolutely delicious, and the halibut was tender and mixed well with the mash and veggies. the whipped charred tomato butter paired with the sourdough was a delight i didn't know i needed tonight. in terms of ambiance, it is upscale casual, and it's definitely a medium end restaurant in terms of pricing. however, the portion sizes are sufficient enough for me to hold my tongue. if you're looking to splurge anywhere in downtown riverside for a night, i highly recommend the salted pig. read more

What a great find! We were in the area and stayed at the mission hotel.. so glad we stumbled upon this place! Excellent coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice! But the Sammi sandwich with a custard egg was by far the best breakfast sandwich we both have had! Service was also great! Shannon was super friendly, excellent at her job and she answered all our questions about the different dishes. We learned a lot about different prepared dishes! I came here Saturday night and met up with a few friends. I had the just friends drink, steak and potatoes and we shared the bacon fat popcorn. The popcorn was pretty good! I've never had popcorn at a restaurant before. You can taste the bacon fat but they added some sweetness that tasted like kettle corn. My drink was tasty! I personally don't drink often so I asked for the sweetest drink on the menu. It was just the right amount of sweetness. My steak was cooked perfectly and the portion size was pretty good. My fiancé got the pork belly sandwich, which he thought was just okay. But I enjoyed my meal! I definitely recommend this place if you are in downtown riverside! read more

Yes, they opened the new location beginning of this year. It is very nice modern vibes!
Do they have any mimosa specials on Saturdays and Sundays?
Currently, we offer Mimosas for $6 each during Sunday brunch. Our mimosas use fresh juice, Spanish Cava, and you can choose between orange, grapefruit, or pineapple.
Do they offer gift cards for purchase?
Our gift cards can be purchased digitally, and sent by text or email to the recipient of your choice. Clicking on our Yelp menu will take you to our online ordering site.
Do they still have gluten free menu alternatives?
Yeah, I ate there recently. Most menu items don't have gluten. The ones that do, you can get it without the bread. They let me know that they make their own sourdough using their own starter, if that relieves any of your bread-concerns.
What time does the kitchen close? Last call for food?
10pm although they serve Ramen exclusively from 10pm until midnight Thursday through Saturday.
Did anyone know that the waitress says they serve Ramen here on certain days of the week which were they does anyone know?
Thursday through Saturday after 10pm.
