As you can see from my past 3 reviews we used to visit here often when we first moved here in September 2021 for happy hour or any seasonal holidays, because they always decorate during the holdidays. We have not been here in awhile. I still had one of their gift cards so we decided to eat here on Cinco De Mayo, because as I mentioned they always decorate the restaurant for every holiday. We waited about 15 minutes for the last table 41 on the right nearest to the bar to become available. I started with my two margaritas with salt for $7 each. The ambient noise here is very loud when it is this crowded. I also enjoyed my chicken and chorizo poblano skillet with chicken tingo, chorizo, poblanos and onions over Spanish rice with queso and cilantro-lime crema served with a guac salad and tortillas for $23. It was served on a hot cast iron skillet. When served my dish looked different from what was on their website. It looks like they topped the dish with queso and cilantro crema. I would have preferred what was on their website without the queso and cilantro crema on top. There might be a disconnect between the website and the kitchen. Anyway my dish was different from the normal. There was a lot of food to eat. I ate half and also took half of the skillet, the guac salad and tortillas home for my late night snack and tomorrow's lunch. Arissa served us very well. Our total bill was $77 excluding gratuity. My gift card had $51.50 remaining so I applied my credit card for my $25.50 balance due. read more

Okay ... had been to this place in 7-8 years when they were at their old location up the street. They have a much larger new space. The decorations were odd and all over the place. It was a pretty good atmosphere and there was live music outside at 6pm or so. We were inside and could still hear it some. The food is all over the place and more sports bar than Mexican restaurant. I ordered fajitas triple (steak, chicken, and shrimp. The platter was on a sizzling dish. The portion of meat was acceptable but as the old lady from the old Wendy's commercial said "Where's the Veggies". Im not sure if they were running low or what but honestly it was hard to find the onion or peppers. And astonishing but no rice and beans. So for the $25 or so price it was too small for all the wrong reasons. The wife wanted chicken casadilla. But it had buffalo sauce. We had a nice waiter from Romania but not sure why he didn't recommend no sauce but she wound up with shrimp & crab. Honestly I tried them and it was just weird. After living in the area over six years, we decided it was time to try The Salted Rim, despite the so-so reviews. I'm so glad we did! We had a very nice experience: it's adorable inside, with a very inviting interior and strings of lights all around. We ordered margaritas and were told it was happy hour pricing, so they were $7 instead of $9. Tasty! The server brought complimentary chips and salsa - you could tell everything was fresh/homemade. For a Mexican restaurant, there are a surprising number of non-Mexican items on the menu. We both had items labeled "new" on the menu: tuna nachos and a Cajun grilled chicken sandwich served with homemade potato chips. Everything was delicious! The nachos were made with fried wontons versus corn chips - a clever decision. I forget all the toppings on my chicken sandwich, but it was all delicious. Read the reviews before hand and still decided to give this place a try. First when you walk, the decor is a hodgepodge not sure what they were going for. We ordered the carne asada which had no seasoning on it what so ever. Rather boring. We also order two bowls, the veggie bowl and steak bowl. They were better as they had a variety of ingredients which gave them flavor and texture. Our server was just okay he really didn't seem like he wanted to be there typical unfortunately for some of the beach restaurants. Don't think we'll be back as there are more options that I think will provide a much better experience. read more

The food has lots of canned provisions. Staff act as if inconvenienced. Chicken wings are good. Margaritas taste like a bad mix with cheap liquor. Nachos have a lot of canned corn and jalapeño. A once and done restaurant. read more

Food was honestly lacking seasoning I got the veggie tacos they weren't bad but could've used some seasoning to make it better. My appetizer was very good though. Halloween decor was out and there was literally a decoration's hand hanging in my face while I was eating it was so uncomfortable, I felt like I was eating in a spirit Halloween food court. We like the Rim for the live music all summer long and the cool breezes outside at the tiki bar. My cheesesteak egg rolls were kinda meh -- Not one I'd order again. But my gf's Cobb salad was a real treat -- nice presentation, very fresh and crunchy. Our drinks were a little slow in coming, but worth the wait .. They packed a nice punch. I'm not sure what these other reviewers are talking about negatively. This place has some really good Mexican dishes. I was so thrilled to finally go somewhere and get traditional tacos instead of all these other restaurants that have fish tacos. They were the best tacos I've had in a long time. My daughter ordered Steak Fajitas. They were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. And idk about you, but I love salsa and theirs is amazing!! I also loved my creamsicle Crush. You should know it was a Sunday and a note posted on the bathroom door way way way back in the back of the restaurant a sign said the Rim was short staffed and to be patient. So yeah service was minimal to nonexistent which is too bad because she seemed like a fine person. C'est la vie. We had the Veggie quesadilla (me) and hamburger sliders (her); we started with some Queso. One of us liked the Queso. It was too thin, too soupy and decidedly not velvety. Plus a general complaint I have: why do most restaurants serve drippy Queso or salsa and chips without providing side plates? Need we have to ask? The sliders were good. The quesadilla better than expected and were quite substantial but lacked taste, so yeah me! I have driven by The Salted Rim quite a few times and have always wanted to eat there. The name conjures visions of margaritas and Mexican food. So I was surprised to see "prime rib night". Then I saw the menu. It had a few Mexican items but it was more a mixed bag of food items. It definitely wasn't Mexican. Chicken Alfredo next to wings. I ordered the Perfect Margarita. It was any but prefect. I asked for salt around the rim. It tasted like the salt was mixed into the drink. My wife tried it and could not drink it. I asked the wait person to return it and give me a regular Margarita. With that, the service seem to tank. After a long wait, she quickly left it on the table, never speaking to me or asking how it was. This had no taste at all. Trying to make due and not wanting to return another drink. I ask for a shot of Tequila. After another long wait, she again quickly dropped it at the corner of the table not saying a word. The sot didn't help so I put the drink on a empty table. The wait person saw it and never asked what was wrong. My wife order the Grouper sandwich, which didn't look or taste like group. Our friend order chicken fajitas, which came with big chunks of chicken. Not strips like most due. They both said the food had no flavor. I ordered Naco's Grande with "taco meat". The meat was ground beef with no taco flavoring. I had not eaten all day, so I ate it. We were all disappointed in the food and service. Just a disappointing dining experience. Honestly, I don't know what I expected from here. I work in the area and try to eat something different whenever I am working. I will start off with the chips and salsa. Well, I am from Texas and that is not salsa. This was a sweet mash of tomatoes, and maybe a few flakes of cilantro thrown in there. It was definitely bothing close to salsa. I ordered the queso, and it was absolutely disgusting. It look like it had been sitting in some type of container with some grease around the edges. It was not only runny in some spots, it was almost like slime in others, and then chunky in others. They also served it to me in a cold glass dish. In order for salsa to remain the consistency in which it is supposed to be, which is runny, it needs to be in a warm dish. I ordered the shrimp tacos with the corn tortilla and a side of sour cream. Our waiter must have just not been on his a game this day because he got everything wrong, kept giving my partner, I each others food and kept messing up the check. All in all this was definitely not a good experience and we will definitely not be returning. The only good thing that I can say is that the shrimp tacos were decent. Also, the water tastes like pool water. My partner and I both noticed that it had some sort of chlorine taste to it. read more

Came here while in an annual weekend cousins trip. We came here as we were all hungry. Service was great but the food was meh. I had the carne asada and needless to say it appeared as though they just grilled it. No seasoning nothing at all. Steal was rubbery and tasteless. I also had the painkiller which was I must say possibly the best thing in this place. My son had the chicken burrito and he said that if it wasn't for the onions and peppers the food would be horrible In terms of taste. He said the rice and beans were not good and he left them alone after one bite. My cousin had the fish and she said it was seasoned good. First time visiting after years of vacationing in Bethany. Salsa was delicious, fish/shrimp tacos were some of the best we have had and the rice bowls were also a hit. This restaurant is really a mash up of a lot of different things. By the name, you would think Mexican inspired. By the interior, you would think an event hall. By the menu, a restaurant trying to cover all cuisines. This was certainly an odd dining experience as the restaurant really lacks an identity. They are strict on some things, such as modifications on your meal, which can be a struggle for those with allergies or just simply don't like something. For my meal I had a margarita and a bbq chicken quesadilla as I had gone in with the expectation of eating Mexican, although this entree was not my first choice. The margarita was good, but it tasted like Jose Cuervo out of the bottle. Nothing special here. The quesadilla was large and had good flavor. It came with a guacamole salad on the side as well as some sour cream. My spouse had the ground beef tacos and she said they were good as well. Overall I think that you can get a decent meal here, but if you want a meal that is specific to a cuisine, I would recommend trying a different spot. read more

Service A+: Our server was Mike over the holiday weekend and he was very friendly and quick with his service. He was on it with great suggestions with drinks and appetizers for our food. Even with the busy holiday schedule he made it to our table often for refills and extra chips & salsa. Food A+: The table split some nachos which were delicious and it was plenty for a table of four. My family and I have been here several times during happy hour and have always had a pleasant experience! Friendly service and great happy hour food and drink specials. I love their Trio Fajitas and Strawberry House Margarita. The outside area is a fun place to hangout or avoid the noise of the live band when they are playing.
