This year I ordered the Cho co shrimp. It was delicious but I didn't realize it was going to be so saucy. The baguette was nice but there was so much sauce and not enough bread to eat it with. Flavor was great. But I would have liked some more bread to sop up that delicious Cajun sauce.

Definitely check this place out! It has excellent service, a fun atmosphere, and the food was excellent and worth the price! Our waitress Alana was attentive and patient. She made good recommendations and proved quick service with a friendly smile. The jerk Chicken tacos were delicious! They were medium level spice with good flavor. The candied pineapple on top provided a nice balance to the heat. The chips were homemade and perfectly cooked. The salsa was great as well. The Tuscan seafood pasta was to die for! There was a lot of generous sized pieces of shrimp and scallops mixed in a delicious creamy sauce (though it was very heavy on cracked pepper, which have it a little kick). The drinks were good, but the peach mule had very little peach flavor. Still a good mule. We are already talking about going back this trip as it was the best food we've had so far!

Great time after time. Service was fast and food comes out fast. Everything is a hit on the menu, I always order the deep eddy peach colada because the peach puree is out of this world, this time we got Rockefeller oysters, chicken sandwich and bacon wrapped scallops. We saw so many amazing burgers and nacho plates passing by us. Dog friendly and music on the patio is always great! Do not miss this place

    Steak Nacho!! Very good

Steak Nacho was fire. Steak was tender. The portion is like an entree. Burgers were fine. Onion ring was a bit doughy. Fish n Chip was very good.

The Shrimp and the blue crab were excellent in the salad. There was no need for dressing. The pieces of blue crab were sizeable-- which was surprising considering blue crab meat is limited since they are so small. The she crab soup was delightful. The night before I tried the she crab soup at Poseidon which was completely different. This one was a cream base which reminded me of New England Clam Chowder. This really hit the spot satiating a seafood craving. The service and server were super friendly and talkative. Our waiter was working real hard in the 90 degree weather in the outdoor seating. All with a smile while sweating profusely. There was a fan blowing nearby to keep us cool. overall, had a positive experience! Would recommend!

Don't let the fact that The Sandbar is not on the water keep you away, because they have figured out a way to make you feel all the beach vibes without a drop of sand. We came here in June on a busy Thursday evening with our two teens. We had to wait 40 minutes, but it was no big deal given that there are shops in the parking lot to wander while you wait. After a little bit we split from the kids. While they were shopping me and hubby grabbed a drink at the bar. They had a band that was really good which helped contribute to the coastal atmosphere. The pretzel with beer cheese was a total hit amongst all of us! I didn't try the quesadilla but my kids said it might be the best they've ever had. That's high praise from those two flour, water and cheese connoisseurs. My kids had burgers (they had seafood the night before and wanted a break). They said they were good. I didn't try it but they were thick patties, cheese was mostly melted and the tomato was thick. Hubby had the Tacos de Pescado and they were delicious! I had a bite and I loved them. They had the perfect crisp. The flavors and the texture of the fish was excellent. I had Grilled Scallop Tacos and they were yummy. The flour tortillas were fried to perfection however, the scallops were a bit over cooked. And I really was not a fan of having the rice in the taco. At a certain point I dumped the taco out and ate it with a fork, but it was delicious. Aside from the scallops, every other individual part was cooked really well. We came here for it's proximity to Sonesta Resort but I'd make a little trip for this place any day. It was an enjoyable time.

For a lowkey night out on vacation, this place checks all the boxes. Quick, friendly service makes it easy to get in and out of in a crunch. The soft pretzel and corn dip appetizers are out of this world. They paired perfectly with the fish tacos (chosen based on server rec). I was perfectly content with the size of the tacos as well. Definitely adding this spot to the rotational whenever I'm in the area!

I'd probably give it 3.5 stars if I could. We started with what would end up being the highlight of the meal - the She crab soup. Simply delicious. Possibly the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, our main dishes were a bit of a let down from there. My wife got the shrimp tacos. They were functional but nothing special. I had the grouper sandwich. On the positive side, it was a beautiful fillet that looked and tasted fresh. But unfortunately, there was almost no flavor to the dish. Basically salt and fish. Maybe add some garlic powder, or paprika to the batter? It was too bland. That said, the atmosphere was nice, waiter attentive and soup incredible. I'd comeback for the soup and a drink.

This was our second visit in two years, and overall, we had another great experience! The food was delicious, the prices are very fair for a vacation spot, and my kids absolutely loved it. The only downside was a 30-minute wait just to have our order taken, despite the restaurant not being busy. However, once we brought it to the staff's attention, our server was extremely apologetic and took fantastic care of us for the rest of the meal. We'll definitely be back!

So disappointed and embarrassed I recommended our family go here for lunch. They sat our group outside and we had to beg for a fan because we had 2 infants. The first person we asked said we couldn't, and later our server was able to procure one (there were 2 at the host desk and one was blowing literally nowhere, and 2 that were unused at the other end of the patio). I would advise them to get oscillating fans for these hot summers. It was super slow service for having kiddos, they were not offered drinks with their kids meals and we had to ask twice (it's supposed to come with meal). When we asked for the tab it took a while. They did not ask us before they started taking things away from the table and they took my daughter drink and my meal before I was finished. It left her crying (after being overheated and fried stale food) and me pretty frustrated. There was also a cockroach on the floor inside for like 15 minutes which gave me the ick. The shrimp tacos and pineapple salsa were tasty other than the shells were super stale and chewy. The popcorn shrimp were mostly fried breading. So many fried options. I wish there were more grilled options because our kids loved the shrimp that was inside the tacos but that wasn't an option. We never got our waters refilled and everyone left just exhausted and overheated. Overall just not a great experience.

Witch Doctor - ate what I could despite much of the peppers, onions, and sausage being burned.
    Chris V.

Service was great but food was not. $18 Grouper sandwich my wife got was frozen, not fresh. The Witch Doctor sandwich I got had shrimp, sausage, peppers and onions. Some of it sat on the grill far too long and was black (not blacked) and burned. Gross. How can you serve it like that? Not to mention the prices shown on the menu are cash only. 4% up charge for credit card. Giving them 3 stars only because I didn't have the time to bring it up to management so we ate our food, paid and left.

Good place to stop for dinner and drinks near Coligny. Love the outside patio and the daily live music. Enjoyed the quinoa bowl with blackened shrimp and a side of onion rings. Service was quick (sat at the bar).

Love the happy hour specials, live music, and proximity to the playground! Classic beach bar food and chill vibes all around, well worth a stop in

Maybe there are better things on the menu, but our food was disappointing. The trio (guac, queso and salsa) were just ok. The bland salsa needs some attention. The guac was good enough. First off, the restaurant is located perfect in a shopping center with plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating. The ordering style is synonymous of most of the "build-your-own" restaurants. I opted for a burrito and chose the "Java Special" as my choice of protein. It has a mix of steak and chicken, cooked in queso. The burrito was delicious and well portioned. Typically, a leaky burrito would turn-off some people from the food, including myself, but it was delicious nonetheless. I went back the next morning for some coffee and opted for a speciality Dubai Chocolate coffee. It was delicious to the point where we could not stop talking about it all morning. All in all, I love eating at Java Burrito whether I want a hefty meal or just some quality coffee. It's to the point where it's a guaranteed visit whenever I make my way down to the island.

Hilton Head Island has seen some changes in food offerings in the last decade, but fresh and new American fusion isn't common. Enter Chow Daddy's. With two locations (the other in Bluffton) we hit this one on Hilton Head. It's a risky place to put a restaurant, buried in the back plaza of a nondescript but high-end shopping center deeeep in the wooded neighborhoods of the island's Southern tip. If you're staying elsewhere on the island, you'll find you have to pay a small fee to access Sea Pines but many people do to get to the Salty Dog Cafe as well. While it may not get a lot of visibility, it is definitely worth seeking out for the very good Latin American cuisine being offered. Out party of five arrived on an August Friday evening after making reservations and were impressed with the cleanliness and upscale minimalist vibe. Dark booths and Edison-style lighting are offset by the daylight let in by picture windows. There is outside seating in the patio (very pleasant in the shade) and a small bar open off the host area. Inside seating is large enough for bigger parties of 6-8. Definitely not a post-beach day place, but perfect for date night, or more dressy family dinner out. Service was quick and talkative; we enjoy chatting beyond food with out severs which makes the experience even better. Apps and mains were delivered quickly with good presentation. We started with the fine fresh corn dip - extra tortillas were helpful to get the last bits. Mains included a fresh and well pattied cheesburger, mix-n-match tacos and two specialty bowls - cajun shrimp with spicy fine fat prawns and an Ahi-tuna poke style bowl. The rice in both was excellent and the portions were perfect. I'll try to un-hide this hidden star with this review and encourage you to seek it out if you live on "HHi" or make your next visit. I came here with a bunch of friends from my undergraduate research lab while we were in Hilton Head presenting at a conference. We had rented a condo to all stay together and this place was in walking distance, so we headed over. I don't remember what all everyone else got to eat, or much about the service, but I do remember it was a total vibe. Beachy decorations that were fun but still classy and not too kitschy, warm lighting, good music. I ordered an item probably not even on their menu anymore: pulled barbeque chicken on a hunk of spicy cornbread with a side salad. I checked online and it's nowhere to be found, but it slapped at the time, and from pictures it seems like you can still maybe order their spicy cornbread at least, which was the best part! It had a great cakey texture and some legit heat. The chicken was succulent and tender and the smokiness paired well with the salad. It seems Chow Daddy's enjoyed a decade of success after my visit so long ago. I hope the temporary closure listed on the Yelp page doesn't turn into a permanent one. It was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of this visit and my time with friends.
