Their service was great. Our server was very attentive to our needs and kept asking at appropriate times if we were good. The menu is customized to say our names and 5th anniversary on top. My Husband's name was misspelled, but we had a good laugh about that. Drink were yummy. The location was beautiful. Only other thing was that we were told they take a photo of us and put it into a keepsake, which we didn't get to unfortunately experience. Someone offered to take a photo of us on one of our phones.

Came to to dinner with my linesisters. Not only did we have a good time catching up but we had a great dinner. I had the GRILLED SALMON with garlic mashed potatoes, fried brussels sprouts and maple bourbon glaze. I accompanied my meal with a glass of Cabernet. Everything tasted wonderful and service was great as always. I love coming here for occasions with people as they make you feel special with the picture and great food! Great place for dinner with partner or girls as the ambiance is always classy, not too loud and inviting. Will be back again.

We went to Sheldon Inn Restaurant & Bar on a Saturday night, and honestly, this started off as one of those "let's just try our luck" kind of dinners. We had checked online and even called and were told no tables, but figured maybe we could grab a spot at the bar. When we walked in, I thought, " What's the harm in asking"...and somehow a table for two had just opened up. One of those meant-to-be moments. I started with a martini, which was great, and I ordered the macadamia crusted halibut special with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The fish itself was really good. The potatoes needed a little help, though. I definitely wish I had asked for extra sauce and a little salt and pepper, but I did appreciate that they tasted homemade with those bigger chunks. We also got the French onion soup to start, and that was so good. It had little tips of filet in it, and honestly, that might have been my favorite part of the whole meal. My husband ordered the stuffed chicken, and this is where things kind of went sideways. The chicken was really dry, and then halfway through, he bit down on what looked like a cherry pit. Definitely not something you expect, and kind of a mood killer. We called the waiter over, and they were very apologetic, and the service the entire night really was great. But between the dry chicken and that surprise, we were kind of done at that point. We were planning on dessert, but just didn't even feel like it anymore. That said, we've been here before and have had really great meals, which is why I wouldn't write it off. The service was great, everything was clean, and it still has that nice, classic feel. Also, a side note, I used the restroom before we left, and I have to say, as a mom, seeing an actual changing station with drawers and supplies made me so happy. I remember those flimsy fold down tables and being nervous using them, so this felt like such a thoughtful touch. They even had a bidet, which I tried to check out, but it wasn't working. Helpful tip: Get the French onion soup, and if your dish comes with a sauce...ask for extra. Not a perfect night, but enough good here that we'd come back again.

This was a really good dinner experience. It was my first time and I didn't know what to expect but it was great. The brussel sprout appetizer was incredible. The burger was absolutely fantastic. Even our server Jada was a rockstar. This is an easy 5 star review.

I am well overdue for this updated review but here I am nearly a month and a half later. My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day even though I mentioned to him my prior and only experience was not the greatest. What convinced me was their Valentine's menu and let me say it sure didn't disappoint! Our server was Mia who was an absolute pleasure to have. She was attentive, kind, and very informative of the menu when we were indecisive. We were seated in their speakeasy, completely separate from the main restaurant, which I enjoyed much more. (less hustle and bustle) The ambiance was more romantic and intimate. I chose the Grilled Salmon served with garlic mash potatoes, fried brussels sprouts, and maple bourbon glaze. This was 15/10! Everything was perfection. The salmon wasn't too wet or dry, brussels were lightly crispy and not bitter like I've had at other places, garlic mash was well-seasoned and so creamy and fluffy. That glaze was everything that pulled the dish together! The maple glaze wasn't too sweet and had a nice subtle flavor. If they ever have this on their regular menu I'd order in a heartbeat. My husband got their North Atlantic Lobster Tail. They did not skimp on the lobster at all!!! His plate was served with bistro rice, broccolini, and butter to drown the lobster in of course. Rice was fluffy but could've used a bit more seasoning and broccolini was cooked well while still having a bit of a bite to it. We ended the evening with their Pot de Crème served with hazelnuts, strawberries, and whipped cream. This was another delicious bite! Yes, it is chocolate so you would expect something super decadent and overly sweet. That was not the case... It was similar to a mousse but a little more denser and rich but still offering such a creamy and silky texture. Glad we came here to celebrate Valentine's Day! Cheers to second chances!

Came here for the set menu Mother's Day brunch . It was nice experience. The service is good I just wish we weren't seated at a table that seemed out in the open In the middle of the restaurant. We definitely want to comeback and try their actual menu to see if it's just as good .

This visit wasn't our first time & I'm sure it won't be our last. We had been here for my wife's birthday in the past maybe 5 years ago? It had been so long ago that it was time to revisit for dinner. They had a dinner special we took advantage of back a few months ago. I'm sorry I waited so long to write a review as it was well worth our time but life happens! It was like 2 for 85 dollars. I think my wife got the special through her email but don't quote me on that bc they didn't advertise it on their menu. We had to let our waiter know that we knew about this special btw. We ordered the fried brussel sprouts, caesar salad, Portuguese bean soup, braised shortribs & my wife had her 6 oz lobster which was cooked to perfection! They also brought us bread with butter. We were way too full by the time it was dessert despite it sitting adjacent to us! What a treat bc everything tasted delicious! Wow we are surely ready to return:-))) This restaurant's ambiance was swanky & perfect for special occasions! They even have special events once a month for entertainment if you're into live music but mainly during the summer months as it's outdoors with a cover charge. It's well worth it if you want to do something different. Yes you can have dinner here with live music! You can make it for a date night! Right??? Ok I'm sure we will...lol

We had a great experience for dinner at Sheldon Inn. There's plenty of parking. We're welcomed and seated promptly. Every server that interacted with our table was very nice and welcoming. They continued to check on us throughout and they even offered to take a picture for us. We were given a complementary photo which was a very nice surprise. The food was brought out promptly. Everything that we tried was amazing. The bread and butter was so good. They offered us more bread without hesitation. The brussel sprouts, and the calamari are a must for appetizers. I had the ribeye and it was cooked and seasoned well. We also ordered desserts. The bread pudding cake was really good as well as the berry pie à la mode. Overall great experience and great service. We were well attended throughout the night!

After our first visit, we returned to Sheldon Inn and were thrilled to find the steak quality had improved dramatically. The steak was 10 times better than our initial experience. My husband requested steak sauce just in case, but it wasn't needed! The staff's exceptional service remained consistent throughout.

I recently celebrated my birthday here and can highly recommend it for food, ambiance and events. As I assumed it would be a warm evening i reserved a table for 10 outdoors. Of course a few people weren't able to make it so it ended up being 7 of us. I had dropped off my cake , flowers, candles balloons and brought two bottles of champagne for corkage . Everything looked lovely when we arrived however I wish they had a table cloth on the black iron table. The service was polite and professional and the hostess was super sweet. Most importantly the food was delicious and everyone seemed pleased with their food. I have a tough crowd to please. My chimicurri flank steak was delicious. I am surprised that living in Elk Grove all of these years I am not sure why I had never eaten here before? However after such a grear experience and delicious food I will definitely return.

Wow! The amount of times I have driven past this gem on Grant Line... countless. Came here to celebrate my parent's 30th anniversary. They had their names on a printed menu for our table to recognize their anniversary, took a complementary picture and put it in a cute frame. Nice touch! More of a fancier vibe (they give you warm hand towels at the end of your dinner). The bar area is more causal for sure. Definitely a spot to come if you're celebrating a special occasion. Service was really great overall. Food was amazing. We got the ribeye, the salmon, and the fried chicken (not on the regular menu it's the Tuesday special), calamari to start, and finished with a slice of cheesecake. Everything was flavorful and came out hot. The mashed potatoes had a bacon gravy that was to die for. Ribeye was cooked a perfect medium. The green beans were crunchy and garlicky. If you're looking to treat yourself or loved ones, check out the Sheldon Inn!

Yesenia and everyone at the Sheldon Inn were the most incredible people to work with and truly made our wedding the best day ever. From the amazing support/planning by Yesenia, the incredible wine and food offered, all the way to the breathtaking venue it's self. It's truly the most perfect location to get married at. We are so thankful and blessed to have worked with everyone at the Sheldon Inn and recommend them to anyone looking to have their dream wedding/event come to life! (Photos by Larcom Productions)

I had a lovely Sunday Brunch here today with an old friend. Make sure to have a reservation because when we arrived the ladies in line in front of us did not have one and were ultimately sent to the bar to eat. Although all the tables were full, the ambiance was still classy, calm and quiet and my friend and I were able to catch up with no problem. The decor here is lovely and the seating was comfortable. We had some mimosas to start and I ordered the omlette florentine while my friend had the french toast and fried chicken. Of course when the food arrived we shared, as good friends do. The chicken was excellent and everything else was good as well. We asked for a few modifications and everything came out exactly as we requested. I think the best thing of all here is the service. Our server was Jordyn and she was amazing. Everyone was very professional and helpful and we never felt rushed. This would be an excellent choice for a romantic dinner or date as well.

    Do they do take out?

    I don't know.

Do they have a bigger cut than a 12oz rib eye?

Is the patio pretty shaded or comfortable on super hot days (100) around 6:30 or should I do reservations inside? It's our 1st time going. Thank you for any feedback

    Beautiful patio that is shaded

Is this kid friendly? Do they take reservations?

Are your kids fine-dining friendly? :-) If they know how to behave in an environment like that and have adult palates, I'm sure it'd be fine to bring them. However, if they're not yet to that level of maturity and don't do well with fine cuisine, it…

Are vegan diners able to be accommodated?

Yes, they have a vegan cauliflower steak entree

    Will they do thanksgiving dinner?

    Is patio dining available here?

Yes, they have a beautiful outdoor dining patio area that is also socially distanced.

    Are they open on Fridays?

Yes, based on the Friday I went on during the summer. I suggest you check their website or give them a call to confirm.

What's the dress code here? Would a collard shirt and nice shorts be acceptable?

You can run the gamut. Jeans and a polo shirt. Suit. Shorts and a polo shirt. Great for date night. Proms. The wait staff is in collared, long sleeve button down shirts, classy. The patrons are of all ages and dress styles.

She worked with the kitchen to ensure my scallop risotto was prepared using oil instead of dairy, and I felt completely confident that my dietary needs were taken seriously. Even though it was fairly busy for a Thursday night, the service was attentive and friendly. We started with the fries, meatball soup (I didn't eat because it had dairy), and the arugula and peach salad, all of which were delicious. For our entrees, we both ordered the scallop risotto. My husband had the regular version with all the usual ingredients, while mine was modified for my allergies. He even tried my risotto and commented that there was very little difference between the two, they tasted just as good as each other! That really speaks to the skill of the chef. It's not always easy to find restaurants that can accommodate allergies without sacrificing flavor, but Slough House Kitchen absolutely delivered. My only suggestion would be to consider adding a few more gluten- and dairy-free entrée options, as well as a dessert choice for guests with food allergies. Even something as simple as a sorbet would be a welcome addition. Excellent food, outstanding service from Alisa, and a kitchen that clearly knows how to handle food allergies. We will definitely be back! Thank you.

It is a classic old building, with loads of charm. We were seated in the bar area looking out on the outdoor patio. We started with the house-made smoked salmon. I have an affinity for smoked salmon, this was by far the best smoked salmon I have ever had. But wait, it got even better as it was served with house-made bread that was toasted to perfection along with a fabulous dill sauce. It was wonderful. We then shared an arugula salad with beets and many other items. It had the most amazing dressing. The freshness of the ingredients made this simple salad fabulous. For our entree we shared the catch of the day, a barramundi served with a house-made lemon caper sauce. We humbly requested to replace our sides with some roasted vegetables. The young woman who was our server (we later found out she was an owner) said she could accommodate us. The fish was amazing. The roasted vegetables that were added as an accommodation was the highlight of the meal. They were cooked to perfection, with a smoked flavor that made it taste like o was eating vegetables for the first time. I eat out often, but this is instantly one of my favorite restaurants. I can't wait to eat there again. We already have plans to eat there this Saturday as we celebrate my girlfriend's son's 12th birthday. You MUST try this restaurant as it is worth the drive.

I made a reservation inquiry for my birthday at exactly 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, for a party…read moreof two. I was told the earliest available reservation was 7:45 PM. I then asked if there was any chance of being seated sooner as a walk-in, and Aubrey told me they had room for two at a table in the bar area. I specifically asked whether it was an actual table where we could comfortably order food, because I did not want to be stuck at some tiny corner setup where only one plate could fit. I also made it clear that it was my birthday and that I wanted something a little more formal and comfortable. I was told it would be in the front by the bar, not shoved in a corner, though it could be a little crowded if people were in the waiting area. When we arrived, the first issue was parking. For a first-time guest, parking was unnecessarily difficult to figure out, especially during a rainstorm. Since the restaurant is set up like a small house, it was not obvious where to park, and there was no clear sign letting us know there was parking around the back. Once we walked in, I immediately saw the table that had been described to us. It was right near the bar against the wall, and it was much smaller and more awkward than I had been led to believe. My girlfriend was wearing a dress, and because it was such a high table, it made it uncomfortable for her to sit naturally and comfortably. As soon as we sat down, I looked at the table and asked if we were really going to be able to order multiple items and eat comfortably there. I was told they would "pace it" and "make it work." That should have been the warning sign right there. We started with two ice waters, and even that nearly filled the table. They brought a pitcher and poured the water into the glasses. I asked for a separate cup of ice, and because there was so little room on the table, I had to ask the waiter to take the glass back and pour it for me so I would not spill everything. That is how cramped this setup was. We ordered the chicken breast special and a half dozen oysters. First came the garlic bread, and now we had bread, butter, two waters, silverware everywhere, and barely any room left. Then the oysters arrived, and everything had to be shifted around just to make it fit. At that point, the table had bread, oysters, hot sauce, waters, and multiple pieces of silverware for each guest, and it felt like one wrong move would send a glass to the floor. After we finished the oysters and bread, they cleared the table and brought out our entrée. We ordered the shareable chicken breast after I specifically asked whether it would be enough food for both of us. The waiter said it should be. In reality, it was about four small pieces of chicken once cut, three asparagus spears, and two very small scoops of mashed potatoes. For the price, it was honestly disappointing. I cannot remember the last time I paid that much at a nicer restaurant and still left hungry. What made it worse was that they knew it was my birthday and did absolutely nothing to acknowledge it. No small dessert, no candle, no gesture, nothing. Ironically, the only people who made the night feel special were another couple who had apparently been dining there for years. They overheard us mention it was my birthday and kindly bought us two sparkling wines. That was thoughtful, but it also added even more clutter to an already ridiculously tiny table. The service overall was underwhelming. We were barely checked on, and the whole experience felt awkward. The hostess kept staring at us throughout the meal, and at one point, she rolled her eyes when she went to take the Tabasco sauce, and we told her we still needed it for the chicken. For the prices Boulevard Bistro charges, I expected much better service, better communication, and a much more comfortable dining experience. Instead, the whole night felt misleading, cramped, and disappointing. I will not be coming back.
