I sat on this review for a couple of weeks but it bothered me the way things played out at the restaurant so here we are. The Elk Grove Yard House location is new and of course was quite busy which is always a good sign for a new restaurant. Things however went south pretty fast. I sat down and ordered fish and chips because if any restaurant offers that, that's my barometer for how the rest of future meals might be experienced there. I ordered water to drink and when the server left, I thought she was going to return with water but instead she returned with the bill. It was very odd to me but certainly not a dealbreaker. I don't dismiss a business over things like that. I have been seated at the bar and was waiting for my order there so I was in the center of action so to speak. I happen to be sitting in front of the salt and sugar rim containers which were splayed open. I mentioned to two servers that the flies were crawling all over these sugar and salt containers. The one server walked off and the second one took her table cloth and swished a fly off and then moved off to speak to someone else because she was annoyed I had mentioned it. I watched flies crawl all over that container for the entire time I was there. I actually wanted to cancel my order and walk out because if this is not an issue, whatever is going on in the kitchen that I can't see is definitely not an issue. When I received the fish and chips, I was shocked with the lack of quality which, I wasn't expecting a lot of but it was squishing and dripping in grease. There was a thin greasy wafer of fish that was both difficult to locate within the greasy batter but also pretty surprising for a $23 dish. This was not a cheap meal by any means. I requested garlic fries and asked if there was a surcharge for that and they replied there was not. However, I did receive a surcharge that I discovered before I received a drink and after I had placed the order. I did not receive garlic on the fries. Even after paying $27 for this fish and chips meal, I really couldn't eat it because I was still sitting next to the fly trap that staff was not concerned about. I realize this is a new restaurant so people are going to want to try and have their own experiences there but my first visit was completely unsanitary, unacceptable food wise, and poorly executed in terms of the bill, up charges and not receiving what I ordered. I have filed with the health department in hopes that they will train this restaurant regarding some of this but that is more of a favor to them because I won't be back. So excited that a yard house opened up by my house! It's still very busy here since it's been opened for less than a month, so be prepared to wait, especially during happy hour which is M-F from 3-6pm. We decided to come during happy hour for half off appetizers on a weds. We put our names down for a party of 6 and waited about 40 mins. After we got seated, ordering on the ziosk was seamless. All of the happy hour menu was in there and just a click away. Our server was amazing! He kept coming in several times to check on us and to refill our waters. We ordered a bunch of things from the happy hour menu and got to try all of it. It came out super quick, only like 10 mins after placing the order. My favorite was the chicken nachos and the white truffle mushroom pizza. My least favorites were the carnivore pizza and the sliders. They were whatever to me. I did enjoy the calamari, but felt like it had a lot of batter on it. Wings were good but a little salty. Really busy place inside. Thought it would be bigger since it was a new construction but bustling inside nonetheless. Very worth coming for happy hour. I was excited to check out this new location. I heard it's only been open for about a month. The food is consistently good at every Yard House location. The pricing is pretty reasonable. The service here was rough at first, but once I received my orders, it improved. When I walked in, I immediately realized there was something going on. They were playing the World Cup on TV. People were waiting for tables and booths, but since I was by myself, I looked for a spot at the bar. There were a couple spots available, so I sat down and took one of them on the corner. It took several minutes for someone to approach me, even though a guy sat down a couple minutes after me and was approached within a minute. The female staff were attentive to everyone but me. A male staffer eventually came up to me and asked if I had been helped, then placed my order. He was the only one who was attentive to me. Another guy was standing at the bar "cleaning", but was mostly just watching the game. My drink was made in a timely manner and tasted great. I soon received my food order. Both my salad and burger arrived at the same time. I asked if they could bring the burger back out later because I wanted to eat my salad first and didn't want my burger to get cold, but they wound up just remaking it and bringing it out later. I appreciated the accommodation since I didn't clarify that beforehand. Once I made that request, a female staffer chimed in, but I told her the male staffer had it taken care of. She came by later and asked if everything was good. Once I was ready to go, a different female staffer closed my bill. Not sure which one was my actual server (even though neither of them served me), but I noticed one of their names on my receipt instead of the male staffer. I hope my tip actually went to him, but he might have been the manager? I have no idea. Besides the confusion with the ladies, I thought everything else was good. The male staffer was great and accommodating, and the food and drinks were perfect. This wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but it wasn't the best first impression. We ordered a couple items to share. We had the giant pretzel it came with beer cheese and ground mustard. I love giant pretzel and like to order it anywhere that has it. The beer cheese is not for me because I don't really care for beer. The mustard was ok. We also ordered some wings . Bbq and original hot. I liked the bbq wings. I'm not an original hot flavored girl. For our shared entree we ordered the truffled mushroom pizza added sausage and pepperoni. The pizza was hot and good but it tasted a bit on the salty side. Waited a few weeks after Yard House had their grand opening because it's always crazy when a new restaurant opens in Elk Grove and takes awhile for the staff to get into the swing of things. When my small group arrived on a Sunday evening, parking was easy, we were quickly seated, and our waiter dropped by within minutes. The waiter had great suggestions especially when it came to the beer on tap. The atmosphere was popping with happy conversations and music that matched the videos on the multiple TVs. Our dishes started arriving after 5-10 minutes. Most tasted as expected; the best was the Mac & Cheese, but the Cheesesteak could've used onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. We were told this restaurant has only been open about a month, and judging by the crowd, it's already a huge hit! I guess Elk Grove needed a Yard House!! We arrived around 1:30 on a Sunday, and the place was absolutely packed. There was about a45 minute wait, and people were everywhere. It was honestly pretty crazy. Temps were hot as hell outside but the restaurant was nice and cold!! Parking sucks a$$ because it's under construction. No fault of Yard House. Despite how busy they were, the staff had everything running like a well-oiled machine. Our party of seven was seated within the estimated wait time, and our waitress was friendly, patient, and attentive while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. I like that we didn't have to have our whole party to be there in order to be seated! The biggest surprise was how quickly the food came out. Busy new location with a few opening-week hiccups! This new Elk Grove location opened on 6/22/2026, and the public interest is definitely high. I came on 7/7 around 5 PM and was surprised to see the line going all the way outside. The indoor dining room, bar, and outdoor patio were all packed. Luckily, my friend had already put our group on the waitlist around 4:30 PM. Parking: Free, but limited for now because the shopping center is still being developed. Several businesses are under construction, so some parking spaces are taken up by construction vehicles, materials, and portable toilets. Restrooms: Clean and decent. Service: Friendly overall, but there were a few hiccups. Water was served right away without us asking, which was nice. They started taking drink orders first, but then also took food orders from some of us, so it felt a little unorganized. I asked for a sample of a beer I'd never tried before so I could decide what to order. I expected the sample to come first, but it arrived together with everyone else's drinks, so it didn't really help me make a decision. Our food also came out in two batches. About half the table got their meals first, while the rest of us waited a while longer. We ended up sharing food until everyone's orders finally arrived. Our server checked on us a couple of times and cleared empty plates and glasses. There was one funny moment when he asked if I was done with my drink. I said, "Not yet," but he had already picked it up. As soon as he realized it, he put it back and apologized. Afterward, they offered dessert, and a few people in our group ordered some. One thing that stood out was how loud it was inside. There wasn't any music playing, but the restaurant was so noisy that we had to practically shout just to talk to the people sitting next to us or across the table. If you're coming with friends and want to actually have a conversation, I'd recommend sitting on the outdoor patio. Overall, it's a great addition to Elk Grove. I was anticipating the opening of Yardhouse in Elk Grove. I like their Downtown location but parking is tricky in DOCO and sometimes pricey! So, parking in EG will be much easier! We braved the crowd and came here on Thursday for their Happy Hours between 3-6 pm (Mon. to Fri.). Not sure if it was the 4th of July weekend or they are still new, or both....it was packed! Arrive early if you want to take advantage of their HH. We got here at 3:00 pm and waited for about 15 min. to be seated but the lines started to form outside very quickly. You don't want to get here at 5 pm, wait in line to find out you didn't make the HH. DRINKS $2 off on a selection of cocktails, beer and wine. My Lychee Cosmo cocktail was pretty, sweet and tasty but I barely felt the alcohol. My sister got the Blue Moon beer. For pint size, it was less than $5 after the HH discount. It was cold and served in a chilled beer glass. APPETIZERS A good selection of appetizers are half off during HH and we took full advantage of that. -Margherita Pizza - I love the crust. It's not too thin with a nice texture. I can use a little more tomatoes sauce. 5/5. -Seared Ahi Sashimi - The sashimi is fresh but the sauce is a bit salty. Nice presentations. 3.5/5. -Calamari - It was overly fried with lots of small hard pieces. The two sauces are good. 3/5. -Poke Nachos - The first time I had it in DOCO was amazing. They use different kind of nachos. It's not as fresh and crunchy. I think the portion is a smaller too. 3/5. -Brussels Sprouts - I like that they put a twist to the sauce with a nice kick. Tasty dish. 5/5. -Classic Sliders - it comes with 4 mini sliders with french fries. Good portion. 4/5. -Chicken Wings - We got the Korean BBQ. It was just okay. Your average party wings. 3.5/5 You can order with your server and/or using the tablets on the table. We opted in to order the food on the tablet because we can see the pictures, prices, and customize the item. For some reason, we couldn't order the HH Chicken Wings on the tablet and the server put it in for us. When I got the bill to pay, I noticed we were charged full price for the Chicken Wings. It was $10 more and I address this with our server. She came back and said that it wasn't a HH item and that's why we couldn't order it on the tablet. That doesn't make sense because I can see the item and the HH price but couldn't add it. Even if that was the case, she should say something right off the bat. I didn't want to argue about $10 and ruin my evening. Clearly, they still have to work on some grand opening issues. It's a large restaurant with patio seating. My husband, our two kids, and I were invited to participate in the soft opening of the Yard House on Elk Grove Boulevard. We were both offered two complimentary beverages of our choice if we wanted them. They also had multiple draft beers to try. They had several seating options, and we chose to sit in the indoor/outdoor area. It was very warm outside, so we asked for the fans to be turned on. I think our waiter forgot to turn them on. The food was very good. I ordered a pineapple chicken dish that was flavorful, and the temperature was perfect. The kids ordered from the kids' menu. My husband's meal, on the other hand, had some issues. His T-bone steak was overcooked, so it was sent back, and his sides were incorrect, so those were sent back too. The order was finally correct, and once it was, the taste was amazing! Our server was friendly but could benefit from additional training in getting familiar with the menu. You check in at the door & are then called to the hostess desk & are seated. We had a nice booth inside. Lots of seating inside & out, even have like an in between area to sit plus a full bar. I came here for lunch over the weekend, and the wait was about 20-30 minutes. The restaurant is much bigger than I expected, with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a large bar area if you'd rather sit there. Considering it was their opening week, the service was pretty good. Some menu items are ordered through a tablet at the table, while others have to be ordered directly from your server. Our food arrived fairly quickly. The giant pretzel was decent--soft and not dry at all. However, I wasn't a fan of the beer cheese or the mustard, as both sauces were a little too strong for my taste. We also tried the truffle mushroom pizza and added sausage and pepperoni. It was decent overall. The truffle flavor was subtle, which I liked, but the pizza was a bit saltier than I would have preferred. The wings were another item we ordered. So happy YH is finally open! But it was busy being that its still their opening week. It was already busy when we got there, but people were coming in and out. The reception area was crowded, with what seemed like too many staff members standing around. We were seated right away though since we didn't have a seating preference and just wanted the first available table. You can order from the little kiosk at your table, which makes it super convenient and easy. We had a server, but it was easier for us to just place all of our orders through the kiosk. Everything came out quickly, and our server checked in on us throughout our meal. HH FOOD Poke Nachos 4/5 - Good, but the portion looked smaller compared to other YH locations. Cheese Spinach Dip 4/5 - It was good, but the chips got saltier as we kept eating. Calamari 4/5 - I'm a fan of the jalapeño tartar sauce served on the side. Brussels Sprouts 2.7/5 - My least favorite. They were drenched in sauce, came out soggy, and I think there was some buffalo sauce mixed in too. Hummus 3/5 - Decent. I'm glad this location finally opened after a couple of delays here and there. I have to say I enjoyed my time here during happy hour, which might be my new favorite happy hour spot in the city. The ambience is kind of like BJ's so it can get pretty loud inside. I was seated immediately even though it was pretty busy so that was a good start. My server asked if I had any questions and even gave me a few samples of some beers since they had so many options and I wasn't sure what I wanted. I ended up getting their honey blonde ale in a 32oz half yard glass which looked comically large but I still enjoyed the beer. I started off with some poke nachos then eventually got some chicken tenders with fries. Their prices during happy hour (half off pizzas and certain appetizers) were really good although I'm not sure if I'd get appetizers during times when happy hour isn't offered. Came out for opening night and so glad we did. The place was packed, as you'd expect for a debut, but the staff handled the rush like pros. Genuinely positive attitudes across the board and still attentive even with a full house, which says a lot when a brand new team is finding its rhythm. The food did not disappoint. We worked our way through the buffalo chicken tacos with that creamy slaw and a side of Spanish rice and beans, the seared ahi over a bright broth, shrimp street tacos loaded with crispy fries and guac, and a massive cheese pizza that easily fed the table. Every single item was a hit. The space itself is a great hang. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and TVs everywhere you look, so it's perfect whether you're catching a game or just gathering with friends and family. Elk Grove needed a spot like this. We decided to check out the new Yard House location in Elk Grove! Since we didn't have a reservation, we had to wait a little bit to be seated, which was totally expected since this place is the new hot spot in town. Once we sat down, our waitress greeted us right away. The overall service was a little on the slower side, but the restaurant was incredibly busy, and they are still working through those opening-month rushes, so it was understandable. The drinks & food were good. We ordered a burger and the jambalaya, both were a solid 8/10! We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon, and even with the crowd, the wait for a table was only about 25 minutes. They offer indoor seating, outdoor seating, and bar seating, so since there were only two of us, we grabbed a couple of spots at the bar. We were greeted immediately by one of the many bartenders working, and service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. They have an impressive selection of draft beers and Truly options. We started with margaritas, which were amazing as always--strong, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For appetizers, we ordered our favorite: the poke nachos. The portion is generous and very filling, featuring fresh, delicious tuna, crispy wonton chips, and a slightly sweet flavor profile that we love. For my entrée, I had the garlic noodles with shiitake mushrooms. The noodles were tender, slightly sweet, and well seasoned, and the meaty shiitake mushrooms made the dish even better. My husband ordered the turkey club sandwich, which was huge and loaded with turkey, crispy bacon, and lettuce. The only thing that missed the mark for me was the fries. I'm pleasantly surprised by how good the food and drinks are at this location. I used to go to the Santana Row location in the Bay Area, and the food there wasn't nearly as good. The beer selection is amazing, the cocktails are excellent, and the happy hour prices are the cherry on top. The service has been great, you can tell the staff and management are working hard. Just be patient since they just opened and are still getting into their rhythm. Don't let the early negative reviews keep you from giving this place a try. Ayah was our server, and she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Johnny, the manager, also stopped by to ensure everything was going well, which added a personal touch that we truly appreciated. We started with the hot wings tossed in spicy garlic sauce, which were flavorful with just the right amount of heat. I also enjoyed a Sweet Tart Martini that was refreshing and delicious. For our entrées, we ordered the Spicy Jambalaya and the Beef Noodles, and both dishes were served hot, generously portioned, and packed with flavor. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying a dessert, and the Oreo Brownie did not disappoint! It was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. What impressed us most was that this was only a soft opening, yet everything ran smoothly. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. As a nice surprise, guests also received Yard House fanny packs, two drink tickets per person, and $10 gift cards, which made the experience even more memorable. We've been waiting to find a new go-to restaurant in Elk Grove, and after this visit, Yard House is definitely at the top of our list. My party was sat after about a 25 minute wait. This was this new location's first weekend/Saturday evening having opened this week. The restaurant was clearly busy, but the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. As it got more sunny, I noticed the staff was actively adjusting the outdoor shades and indoor lighting which was nice. Our server Carina was great. She clearly explained the tabletop kiosk/ordering system, was super friendly, and frequently updated us on our orders. Carina was on it. She provided us with everything we needed from refills, sides, and updates/delays (as there were several). Our fried calamari appetizer arrived quickly but was noticeably cold upon serving. It tasted well-seasoned and crispy, but even the spicy marinara and jalapeño tartar sauce cups were warmer to the touch. After our server relayed further delays from the kitchen and had the manager talk to us. Tyler, the manager, was very understanding and graciously apologized after hearing about my party's experience. About over an hour after ordering, we got our food which was fresh and tasted great. Tyler revisited and we were fairly compensated for our troubles. Overall, I was pleased with the food and service from Carina and Tyler. The interior looks quite nice and it's super new and clean. Honestly a little let down that everything was cold when I went to pick it up my food. Everything tasted like it was already cooked ahead, because there was no steam at all in the containers for both the burgers and fries. I ordered ahead because my family wanted to try yard house for dinner and then when I went to pick it up at the time, I was only 8? min after the expected pickup time just to give them time, pickup was easy food was already ready when I went to pick it up. When I got home however my family was a little disappointed by our food. My mom said it was good, but it just needed more to it. Me and my brothers, truffle cheese burgers were cold and our fries were cold too. I thought when we picked it up it would be warm at least? The burgers and fries were good when I warmed them up again I really enjoyed my meal and it was medium rare as I requested. Brand new location in EG near Costco, Chick-Fil-A, Whole Foods. We arrived to an hour + wait but we had 8 people at 4pm so expected a wait. This location is large, has multiple locations to sit, outside area (which we wonder if they will cover in winter??) covered outdoor patio, large inside area on both sides of bar. Once our wait was up we were sat... the waitress did a good job wrangling our table. I would say Im giving a 3 for multiple reasons... one our silverware was dirty we had to ask for new, then all of our food was delivered at different times, we had multiple waitresses try to deliver us food that wasnt ours so it seems they are still figuring out the table number configurations. Then we made a mistake and ordered dessert-- we waited and waited - our waitress must have went home as we continued to wait and asked multiple people - finally half of the desserts came out - then we had to hunt down the other - the issue was our waitress had left and we already paid!! so it was annoying. we finally got our last dessert but it was quite the wait. clearly some kinks to figure out which is normal -- been to the YH at Doco and Roseville and they dont have these issues. read more

Maaan I could not wait for this location to open! As soon as I saw it was open as I was passing by and immediately swooped in. There was a waiting list for tables but I was alone and on a mission. I went straight to the bar and found a seat right in front of the TV that was showing Serena at Wimbledon. The beautiful young lady who served was so amazing in how she was able to be personable no matter how busy the bar area was and it was busy y'all! Her name was Chloe so make sure you sit in her area for great service . I also want to give a quick shout out to Mr. BANKS for his wonderful personality and beautiful smile. I even saw an old friend from Iron Steakhouse on Broadway and he still remembered me and what I used to always order from almost 10 years ago!!! The first thing we noticed upon our arrival at the Yard House was that the maître d' / host reception area had a very light, airy, bisy, and happy feeling about it. As this was the opening week at Yard House we were expecting utter chaos, but although it was quite busy, the staff was highly attentive and professional. Our wait time was approximately twenty (20) minutes. That was surprising because we did not make prior reservations. Our first observation was that there are multiple big screen tv's throughout the establishment with standard table and seating accommodations, with a large centrally located bar. There are also small booths at the surround. There is an outdoor enclosed patio area for dining, with an additional open patio area for "Open air dining". The service is quite exceptional with quick and friendly service. The food was exquisite, devine, and flavorful, and actually came as ordered - with clean and crisp plated presentation. The menu is quite extensive, and the beer list is amazing. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained, and the ambient music playlist is great. I recommend that you try a few of the appetizers before your meal. Also I was told by staff that they have an awesome Happy Hour. ​Weekday Happy Hour: Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. ​Late-Night Happy Hour: Sunday through Wednesday from 10:00 PM until closing. *A very unexpected side note: No less than six (6) people stopped at our table throughout our meal, each asking if we needed anything else, or just simply re- filling our drinks. I'm not sure that this situation could have been handled any better and more professionally. We understand that things do happen, and as busy as the Yard House was on our second visit, the exceptional service was and is outstanding! I highly recommend that you bring your first date, family, friends, colleagues, and anyone else, you know who loves to dine out to come specifically to Yard House for a wonderful experience. Came to the soft opening on the Saturday night (after the event but they were still serving) and the greeting and service was excellent for a brand new establishment. Have been back a couple of times since during World Cup events and the place has been packed. Has still been great service. A friend and I visited for happy hour today and I will say the food and service were both excellent. No issues there. My complaint is the volume of the music was obnoxiously high. The extreme LOUD music and the patrons having to speak at high volumes to hear one another over the music made the experience almost unbearable. This is a restaurant, not a night club. I would like to be able to enjoy a conversation while dining. I left with a splitting headache and I will not return unless this is resolved. read more

1st of all this was my first time to the new Yard-house in Elk Grove. I usually go to the one in Sacramento but Elk Grove is closer now. I ordered my regular 1/2 yard of Voo Doo Ranger and it was great. I was kinda debating on ordering the 20oz rib/eye boy was I happy that I ordered it. It was delicious tender and cooked juicy and to the right temperature. Our server Diego man this guy was point on with all our orders, we got it 100 percent correct and there was 8 of us. I liked how he read back our order to make sure it was correct. And Ashley I hope i got her name right she brought our food out with a smile got what we needed and she was a pleasant employee. The restaurant it self was packed but it was a great vibe inside it was a Sunday afternoon and we waited maybe 20 minutes. They said 30 but it wasn't that long. Can't wait to go back!!!
