I would give this restaurant 4 stars, but the staff sat my group in the corner, after waiting 25 minutes, and forgot us there without table service for an additional 20 minutes -- my group would have been totally forgotten, but I went and searched for a waiter to come to our table (took an additional 5 minutes). The location was extremely busy, even on a dark rainy Monday night. Otherwise, the staff was very nice, but due to no uniform, it was hard to tell the staff apart from regular people. I recently went to the Sinclair for a friend's birthday dinner. The ambiance was gorgeous, I almost forgot I was in Fairfield and thought I was in an upscale restaurant somewhere like LA! Our server was very prompt and friendly. She was patient with us as we struggled a little bit to figure out what we wanted. I had a glass of rosé and the penne vodka. Both were delicious. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it's a bit too pricey for what it is. But otherwise, this place is great. I hope to come back and try their brunch! read more

We had a very good meal with excellent service in a very warm, comfortable setting. I'll be back as soon as I can get here again. Here's the rundown: Beer Menu - decent but not deep. You'll find some rare offerings and all are solid choices. I didn't look at the wine list (because they have beer!) but my friends thought it was solid. Apps - Avocado Fries, Roast Pork Mac & Cheese, Fried BBQ Oysters, Pork Belly. All were very good. I would try any of them again. Entrees - Black Kracken Noodles were excellent! Others had mussels, salmon and chicken and nobody took anything home! The setting is unique. Lots of wood, leather and metal. It's dark but you can see, loud but you can hear, small but with room between you and the next table. I think the best way to describe the decor and public space is well-balanced and inviting. There are similar themed places but The Sinclair seems to do it in a very elegant and classy way. Sort of the way a very well made leather jacket can still look amazing even though it is fairly well worn. Portions are on the smallish side. They aren't skimpy but sharing an app with more than 2 people probably means one bite apiece. For us that was fine and the point of the portion note is to recommend that you go ahead and order apps because you'll have room for both them and your main dish. My bet is that you'll enjoy trying some new dishes. When I return I'll probably do 3 courses because the food is very good and I have lots of items I still want to try! Service was excellent. I visited this spot a few weeks ago for brunch which was so good (note they open at 10:30 not 10am) so decided to come for dinner. Started with the Brussels sprouts, would highly recommend if you're into the sweet and savory. The buffalo cauliflower was OK. I expected it to be super crispy but it was a little mushy and had to ask for more blue cheese as there was only a light drizzle and that sauce was HOT Would definitely recommend the goat cheese fritters, I would have that as an entree if offered! For dinner, I had the tacos from the small plates and the Mexican street corn. The tacos were meh but the corn was amazing! When I come in they are usually cool but i brought in my two black friends and they came in checking on us 8 TIMES, we were there for only a hour. They were quick to ask if we were done with our food when they clearly seen we were still eating. They werent friendly at all. We werent rude and we were not loud. We really liked this place. The dining area is divided into 4 different areas. You can dine outdoors in the patio area or inside by the bar or in any of the two areas indoor. It was a bit windy outside so we asked to sit somewhere away from their open window dining areas. The decor and lighting was really good. The service was excellent as well. Our meal was really good. For starters we had the oysters which were very meaty and tasted well. We had the Roast pork Mac n cheese which was different but oh so good. Finally we had an order of Chowder fries. The Chowder fries were absolutely ridiculous. You gotta try these. For our entrees we ordered the lamb chops, the Cubano and the steak sandwich. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly, the steak sandwich was good and the Cubano was good not great. I love Cubanos and I was not a fan of them using the Ciabatta bread and the sandwich just wasn't as flavorful as it could be when you mix all of the ingredients. Overall I think the small plates were really good and the entrees were ok. When I go back I think I would stick to the small plate menu because they seemed to have a lot of options I wanted to try. read more

Met up for holiday drinks and nibbles with my local friends on a Thursday night around 7. Buzzy bar scene with at least that night lots of men in their 40s in suits and a few women. We sat in the dining room and started with cocktails: the queens favorite mule and the hibiscus drink both delicious and seemingly made with care. The dining room has the mid to late 2010s look of subway tile and vintage bulbs, comfy leather banquettes etc, my only complaint is that it is LOUD. Not easy to have a discreet conversation you will have to speak loudly. Food: the ok - shishito peppers nice but not really special - big portion for sharing. The buffalo cauliflower was tasty but needed more hot saucy vinegar and blue cheese. The winners: the clam chowder fries are amazing! I didn't expect to enjoy potato on potato action, but this was divine. Kind of like poutine but simply creamy clam chowder as the topping. The mussels- large ample portion in a tasty Thai styled broth with two pieces of rustic toast. Mussels were plump and well seasoned. We passed on dessert this time but will return. Came here for brunch on Sunday for a friend's birthday. It was 8 of us and they said it was going to be a 30 minute wait. Service was amazing, didn't get the waitress' name but she was truly great! Very prompt bringing out drinks & refills. I got the Amelia drink and wow best drink ever, highly recommend! We ordered the avocado fries, meatballs, and calamari for appetizers. I came for Valentine's Day and had a great experience. The interior is inviting and elegant. The chandeliers and candles provide great lighting. The staff was friendly and efficient with refilling waters and checking in. I was impressed with the prices of the wine list and the cocktails looked good too. The food is very seafood forward, which I love and is somewhat lacking in Fairfield. They also have steak, chicken and a couple vegetarian dishes. We shared the lobster lollipops and had the bouillabaisse and a shrimp penne alla vodka special for entrees. We didn't have room for dessert, but everything was delicious. We have stopped dining at The Sinclair and no longer recommend it to others due to their humiliation of a guest of ours who had a very straightforward nut allergy. If a restaurant of their caliber can't manage a nut allergy, I question their safe food handling practices overall. Our guest that day was a global traveler who dines routinely and safely all over the world. I started flowing them through the construction process on their Instagram and time to time peaked my head in the window when I was in town, and man, they run a tight ship! The craftsmanship is seamless, from the layout of the restaurant to the beautiful antiques and artwork they have on display. My first experience was 7/2/18 for their Soft Opening. When you walk in the restaurant you are and you are greeted with open arms. There isn't anything like it in the Fairfield CT area. I sat at the beautiful bar and ordered the Seafood Sampler, which came with local oysters that literally came from the LI Sound, Shrimp Cocktail, Little Neck Clams and Crab. You can just taste the freshness of the seafood. The bartender told me they have great relationships with the local fish mongers and seafood distributors. Next I ordered the Lobster Lollipops and Brussel Sprouts. Both were out of this world! They have a great Beer/Wine/Cocktail Menu. One of my favs was "The Paper Plane" I will be celebrating my birthday there, can't wait to go back!! UPDATE: A group of us dined here for my birthday and man was it rocking! Great music and a beautiful looking crowd. We usually like to have a couple cocktails before we sit so I put my name down when we arrived knowing it will take some time, but we are here to have a great time! It's the weekend! After about 35min (which was a perfect amount of time for Cocktail Hour at the Bar) we sat at a circular banquet (great for conversation). The lack of class from the people who assisted us was evident and rather disturbing. Not only this, but they mixed us up and nearly sat us at the wrong table with total strangers. The lack of consideration for patrons left a lasting negative impression. To add on, the manager told us there were "three tables ready to walk out" and yet we waited on for at least another 10 minutes. Also, I have to add that the environment was not ideal. Wow, I am beyond words right now. I don't even know how to fully express the depth of my disappointment from my recent visit--no, my utter disgust. The way things have been handled at The Sinclair is absolutely appalling. Paul, your employee, is single-handedly driving your establishment into the ground. Not only is he distasteful, but he's also shockingly rude and arrogant. If you think this is an exaggeration, think again. His behavior is not just a minor issue--it's a catastrophe in the making. At this rate, it won't be long before this business is run into the ground. This is a negative 100 stars review! Don't go there, don't talk to Paul and I would advise stay away from the rest of the Restaurants they own, Sophie's Pizza and Malibu. When our dinners finally arrived one of our orders was not correct. I had been telling others about this restaurant since it opened, and saying how much I enjoyed it. There was a large group in front of us and it seemed that it took quite a long time to seat us because they were distracted by the large group. The restaurant has very appealing decor and a huge bar. I opted for bottomless brunch which is $17.50, which isn't that bad in my opinion. They also have more options for drinks than other places do - sangria, Bloody Mary, mimosa or Bellini. I opted for the Bellinis and they were delicious. Our waitress was pretty good about filling my glass so that was a plus. I feel as though their brunch menu is definitely geared more towards breakfast foods so I wish they'd get a little more variety in there. I got the chicken and waffle which was okay. This was the best cubano I've added in CT and I know a good cubano since I'm Cuban. The pork was flavorful and nice and tender. The cheese melted and the toasted bread nice and crunchy- toasted just right. Pickles, ham and cheese- soooo good. I opted for a salad instead if fries- what a good salad and the dressing was excellent- not doused but well dressed. So well fine. The oysters we started out with were excellent- fresh, nice and briny and I am definitely coming back to this little gem. Dessert was a choice of 7 yummy sounding desserts- we opted for the 3 leches and creme brûlée cheesecake- both excellent although next tome I'll say skip the raspberry swirls on top. We put our order in for apps, salad and dinner all at once because we are used to restaurants that prefer that style of serving and everything came within 1 minute of eachother. We sat at a very small table so it was overwhelming. We were in and out within an hour. We didn't expect such fast delivery of everything and had hoped it would Of been spaced out properly. The first time we went we got the wrong entree but didn't say anything because they were so busy. The second time the food tasted like nothing special and the meat was dry. Our server didn't check on us to see if everything went well and drinks took exceptionally long to come to the table. We had a lot of to go food and we left and almost 4 minutes later we realized that we forgot the containers. We went back to check and they said they threw it out which was disappointing because it was only 5 minutes from the time we left.
