    Broken window blinds
    L.N. M.

4 stars for the lovely manager and staff. I asked for a laundry facility and she said they don't have one for guests, but she was nice enough to wash my load of clothes. Thank you! As for the property... it's very rundown and old. It was quite nostalgic to use actual keys to get into room and not key cards. It has lots of potential. Our room was clean (G suite) , however, there is broken window blinds and the recessed lighting in the bathroom was falling. There were quite a few electrical outlets not working and the lamp sconces on the wall were loose. We only stayed the night. Great location close to village. Hopefully one day the owners can work on revamping this place.

    Broken Chain Lock

We had to come here for work and this was the only place around available. The first day we noticed the porch was almost falling through. After we realized any key you have unlocks other rooms just by barely putting your key (or any key you have) in. Our doorknob was jiggling pretty badly off the handles as well. Our top chain lock was broken so that couldn't be used as a safety measure. In the room, there's a door that connects to the room over that uses a lock just like the one on the front door that you can put any key in and unlock it with. The shower in the room was broken and didn't work so we unfortunately have not been able to shower the past few days due to this. Maid service also did not come even though we had the maid service sign on our door every day. We also noticed there is black mold on the wall. The lamp was also falling off the wall as well. Rat poo in the bathroom. We did not even notice until the last day, but our work put us down for a King Deluxe and they gave us a Queen instead. Horrible place, do not spend your money here !!

    Private patio

Great location close to the village, cute updated room. We had room 6 , two queen-fire place room with private patio. It was a lovely wood burning fire place (we ended up going to the store to pick up some wood) Kids loved the patio for snow play. We were able to bring our pup along for a $20 fee which was awesome! Only worry was the icy driveway that was a little steep and packed full of cars. But they were doing there best to plow snow to make spots bigger and lay down stuff on the ground for better traction. Over all we loved our stay here and will be back!!

    Heater next to the bed.

Please allow me to first state, the lady checking us in was super kind and warm. She was the only star in this review. We checked into room 10. There was construction happening in the nearby rooms, so power tools and several saws were strewn on the path. My 6 year old tripped over a power cord. Two people were smoking right outside the door. There was an overfilled ashtray and lighter outside the door. Room was as clean as expected and not too bad, but the heater vent which is right next to the bed was covered in dust. My daughter was stuffy and wheezing after being in the room for an hour. Perhaps the dust. More likely the smoke. Lady next door yells at her baby constantly, on and on, "shut up!" It's a crying baby. Awful. It seems they live here. Didn't end until after 10 and started before 6. It's not the baby that's bothersome, it's the yelling mom. We can hear every single word she says to the child. People on other side partied and watched tv, blasted music til pretty late. It was super loud. Walls are so thin, that when they did go to sleep, we could hear them snoring. Worst part, at 9:45 PM, when we were asleep (my little girl finally down after all the noise), gentlemen from the lodge knocks on the door and startled us awake. I stumbled to the door, and opened it a crack, when he said, "you got the red Mercedes'? Someone said it's yours. You gotta move it." No. I don't have a Mercedes'. Not my car. What the hell. We chose this place because very little was available in the area for a mother daughter trip, but really wish we had made another choice. I could go on but you probably get the picture. Stay elsewhere. Unless you like drama.

Cute, woodie theme. Rooms big for accommodations easy to get to rooms. Seems to be run by a small business or family-maybe only two ladies working in the summer. We didn't have toilet paper...Otherwise very cute and sweet!

    Wet floors with dog food

Let's start by saying we almost didn't stay because our immediate reaction was bad... we should have trusted our instincts. We arrived at 315pm (check in was 3pm) and were informed the room was not ready because the previous renters "really destroyed the place last night." He said it would be available at 4pm... drove around for an hour came back and it still was not ready. We are a family of 5, with 3 small kiddos and one kiddo with special needs... we can't just wing it like that when it's 32 degrees out.... We stayed in our heated car for another 45 minutes and our room was still not ready! Sooo frustrating. I asked for a refund of some sort for this huge inconvenience and he said he could give us 10% discount, which he did. Once we finally got in the room it was freezing (after about 30 minutes the wall heaters did kick on) floors were wet and even after wiping up the floors the floors continued to stay wet! Like all of our socks were soaked... they must have a leak of some sort because water was seeping through the cracks in the floor. We found dog food on the floor along with wet hair clumps and black funk. The room seemed very out dated, thrown together, and it just gave us a dirty feeling. We made it through the night, but woke early and hit the road. We will not be staying here ever again.

They also have a really nice event / wedding venue on the property. We stayed in the Little House on the Pond cabin which shared a small man-made pond with 3 other cabins. (Side note: Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins isn't in Lake Arrowhead proper but about a 20 minute drive east on the 189 in the small township of Twin Peaks - which is a nice mountain town but it's a bit of a drive away from Lake Arrowhead) These cabins are really cute. They are rustic yet comfortable - the sofa & chairs are comfy but I wish the sofa was deeper. There are 2 full size beds in the 2 upstairs bedrooms and the beds are super comfy! The one we slept in had a down mattress pad which really upped the comfort. There was also a nice comforter. On the downside, I am tall and I barely fit lengthwise. My feet were on the bottom rail and my head was up against the headboard. Ample parking: our cabin had its own small driveway to park in. The party lights on the deck were really nice for sitting outside on the Adirondack chairs at night. It was also really nice to build a fire in the fireplace on a crisp night. We had a lantern with a dead battery and the maintenance guy came very fast to replace it. There are lots of dishes and cookware to make snacks & meals and they have lots of things you can check out from the office like smore sticks, french presses, orange juicer, veggie steamer, charcoal BBQ, chop sticks and much, much more. On the downside: One of the big reasons we got this cabin was to have a fireplace...and they charge you $10 for a bundle of wood, which is annoying considering how much we paid to stay here (including an $80 resort fee - that doesn't include a bundle of firewood!!?) Tip: We picked up a fire bundle at Grocery Outlet for $6 that was significantly bigger than the one they had sitting by our fireplace for sale. The other big reason we got this particular cabin (Little House on the Pond) was for the big claw tub and it was very disappointing! First of all, you want a claw tub so you can relax & soak in a deep tub, and this tub is not deep enough to stay submerged. When I filled it up and got in, the water drained out the overflow drain until the water that remained in the tub left me half out of the water. You really want to soak in these things and you better do it quick here! (Note: We mentioned this when we checked out and he said they would look into getting a water level extender to put over the drain or something) Also, their hot water heater isn't big enough to last till this tub is full enough to get in. It ran cold after a while and I had to stop filling and let the hot water build back up and do that a few times to have a reasonably warm full bath. The stairs in this cabin are a neck breaker (very steep), almost like a ladder. The bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. This could potentially be dangerous going to the bathroom in the middle of the night (or for anyone who has a challenge walking). They should at least put in some nightlights on the stairs so you can see them when it is dark. On the admin side, you have to wash all your dishes and take out your own garbage or be charged a $60 fee. I have never (even at lower priced hotels) been told to wash my own dishes and take out my garbage. I kinda get it if you have a big family with 8 or 10 people - I'm sure they've had lots of people leave it a total mess, but for 2 of us it was a bit annoying to pay what we did and have to clean up everything. I mean part of being on vacation is to have people wait on you and not have to worry about these things - especially for what I paid to stay here. Another thing, when we checked in we asked for pool towels and she got us a few but told us in the future we needed to bring our own pool towels...Then what are we paying such a high resort fee for!!? After all is said and done I am giving Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins 4 stars. Again, this place is cute, nice and very comfortable but with all the dings mentioned above, I can't give it 5 stars.

Since our room wasn't ready yet, they gave us beach access cards while we waited, which we really appreciated. We ended up walking to the village for breakfast (about a 6 minute walk) and did the boat tour while waiting. Around 12 PM, we received both a text and a call that our room was ready. The room was clean and the lake view was absolutely beautiful. The kids loved the pool, and we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. We also went down to the lake to catch the sunset, which was definitely a highlight even though the water was freezing. They had movie night and game room as well. The only downside was the TV in our room. It was pretty outdated, static at times, and we wished it had Netflix or streaming options where we could log into our own accounts. The hot tub could've also been cleaner. Overall, it was still such a relaxing getaway and a perfect Mother's Day trip for the family. We'll definitely be back again!

Ultimate Bait-and-Switch: Deceptive Photos, No Water, and Financial Theft…read moreBefore relying on older reviews, know this: The Lake Arrowhead Inn was bought out by a new owner a year ago, and hospitality has been replaced by predatory business practices. As a savvy traveler who spends 30-40 days a year in hotels, I have never seen a property run this deceptively. The Illusion: The rooms are vastly smaller in reality than the wide-angle marketing photos on their website lead you to believe. The Bait-and-Switch: We booked a premium Lake View room for our anniversary. Upon arrival, they gave our room away. While I empathized with the staff reassigning it to accommodate a handicapped party, the owner used it as an opportunity to scam us. Hostile Management: When I requested a rate adjustment for the cheaper, downgraded room, the owner became combative on the phone, refused any change, and tried to blame Expedia for his own greed. Zero Amenities: We reluctantly accepted the cramped room just to get ready for a private event, only to find the water was completely shut off with no timeline for repair. The Theft: With no running water, we had to walk away. The owner completely refused a refund, forcing us to eat the entire cost and pay for a second hotel out of pocket. This owner will take your money, provide zero basic infrastructure, and leave you stranded. Do not gamble your hard-earned money or special occasions here. Look elsewhere.

Now, I don't go…read morethere for wedding festivities, therefore, can't review on that, but I do go to enjoy a couple of days of relaxation. Since I've now visited this place often, I can totally say that unfortunately nothing much has changed. The rooms are not updated the way they should be, get rid of the dirty carpet already I would say. The bathrooms need a lot more updating than placing a new shower head and think that will do the trick. Doesn't work that way. The sink still has a huge crack in it as far as 3yrs ago. Attention to details is not the owner's forte at all and it's now pretty obvious that it will remain so. Flowers outside the entrance should be real, again, 3yrs and they still have the fake flowers in their pots, fake flowers, even fake flowers need changing after a while especially when the sun is strong in the summertime, fake flowers will fade the colors away. Just buy some inexpensive REAL flowers already, it can't be that hard to water them and would make the entrance look much nicer. Still having those annoying barking dogs come right up to you, totally wrong to say the least. The whole place, the front desk especially does not look clean at all, and the fact that they serve breakfast which by the way I assume they have a permit to do so and charge you the same amount of money that other restaurants around the area do, is absolutely ridiculous to say the least. Who's even cooking it for you? Regardless, they shouldn't charge you so much. What's totally wrong as well, is when you stay here, the owner or whomever is helping at the time, they use the kitchen to make themselves breakfast, the smell of it goes right up to your room as early as 6am, and it wakes you up. I understand they need to eat but you have guests staying here and I am almost sure that no one wants to smell bacon and eggs as early as 6am, especially when it's not even a weekend when that is the ONLY time they offer breakfast. Totally uncalled for. The other bad experience this time, it was quite cold, so we went to our room sooner than we normally would have wanted to, but there is a TV so we just wanted to relax and watch a movie, the TV wasn't coming on, it took and no kidding here 2 hours before the TV started working, there was no signal for 2 hours, 10pm no one is at the front desk any longer so we couldn't get help and I wasn't going to bother even if I could have since the TV should work properly. We also wanted some tea before bedtime, I couldn't believe how dirty the coffee machine was, just disgusting to say the least, so we didn't get any tea as I was not in the mood to clean up for the owner who should take the time to look at everything around this very small area, and make sure everything is clean for her guests, it's not a huge area at all and everything is at a very minimum space, two steps from the front desk is where they finally by the way, after years, have a coffee machine, yet, it's too much to keep it clean and neat. Other places around the area, offer continental breakfast daily, some offer some sort of muffins, this place only offers coffee/tea unless you stay in the weekend when they rip you off charging you prices like a real restaurant, and after all it looks and feels of total lack of caring, and no attention to details at all. The owner got lucky to have this property and it's sad to see how very little enthusiasm she cares to put into it. You don't need much to show that you care and want to make the place look presentable, nice and clean. As far as I now can see having visited often, it's so obvious that the owner only cares to make money, raises the prices as most do I get it, but other than that can't care less about how the place is kept. Even the outside where you can sit and look at the beautiful views, totally dirty both on the floors and some of the chairs they have outside for you to sit on, just carelessness is all I can keep stating. I recall staying here in one summer, 2yrs ago to be exact, she had a temp helping while she was on vacation. It was a nightmare, and I am sure the owner knows nothing about it. Let's just say that the temp was mostly upstairs with her boyfriend then downstairs, the bell on the desk, well, it was used quite often if you ever needed anything at all. I'll leave it at that. There was much more and all unpleasant. But the owner needed the vacation. This place has a lot of potentials; it is an old house turned Hotel but it could be spectacular if the owner would really try to put more effort into and turn it into what it could be. Of course, if you are not happy, go elsewhere I'm sure is the attitude. The views are spectacular for sure; however, they are not the Lake Views, they are the city view's, therefore, if you want the Lake View since you are at Lake Arrowhead after all, that's not what you'll get, nevertheless, they are beautiful.

Karen greeted me with respect, laughs, patience, and a room (#28) that was head and shoulders above anything Fleur was offering, and it was for a similar price. She and room 28 made me feel welcomed, and Karen made sure I had everything I needed, after a bad experience. I would go back just to talk with her, and her staff. Honorable mention is Michael, who was such a positive and humorous energy at the desk. The bartendress, forgive me for not catching her name, was wonderful and welcoming, as well. It's a shame they shut down the bar area around 9pm. It's a place you want to cozy up to, late into the night, and exchange stories well into the evening hours. I'll be back, and will stay there... hopefully sooner than later.

The last time that I was at Lake Arrowhead was during a 6th grade field trip, so I was curious to see how much the area had developed since then. The Saddleback Inn is located near Lake Arrowhead Village, which is a very short and convenient walking distance from the inn if you want to get out and explore. The Saddleback Inn is also adjacent to Diane's Saddleback Grill, a restaurant that is affiliated with the inn. Note: If you want to check in or out, the front desk is located inside the restaurant. Once you check in, you'll be directed to your reserved cottage, which individually stands apart from other cottages. I thought that was awesome because you get more privacy. There is also a 7-11 nearby if you want to grab snacks or drinks. Our cottage (#26) featured a King-sized bed, television, mini fridge, microwave, extra storage space, and a bathtub with jacuzzi jets. The Saddleback Inn is also pet-friendly, meaning both dogs AND cats are welcome to stay, considering that many lodging establishments don't really accept cats. We brought our cat with us during the trip, which she seemed to enjoy. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Saddleback Inn and hope to return someday!

I would absolutely recommend staying here, cozy and quaint within walking distance to the village, our room was called Love Letter and had a gorgeous view of the lake, total of 9 rooms with ample parking gives you a feeling of staying at home rather than a hotel or Inn. Gail the manager, who has been there for only three months, was very nice and friendly and accepted us like family, they have their lobby filled with all sorts of snacks, coffee, tea, assorted fruits, fresh and delicious apples from the trees, chips, cereal and more, all open to the guests 24/7, she had even made homemade acorns with chocolate kiss on top, were delicious, all in all a great getaway, for sure a gem to be discovered.

The whole experience was great. Booking was super easy, pricing for the area was quite reasonable and then the actual space was super cute and fun. We stayed in the "Love Letter" room which had a fantastic view of the lake. The style was, as noted by previous reviewers, Victorian and beautifully done. We were greeted by Chris and given a tour of the spaces available to us which included a kitchenette stocked with snacks and goodies (midnight cereal, YES!), a wide selection of DVDs and board games. The room had a little fireplace, lounge room, large bathroom (no bathtub) and a super cozy bed. The ONLY thing that was less than perfect as that the blanket was a tiny stuffy smelling. We very much enjoyed this B&B. Be sure to check out the Belgian Waffle and the Village just across the way.

This rating is based on the price point this cabin type facility is compared against not your city hotels. Unit was clean, sheets clean no excessive wear, quaint stylish molding around the floor and ceiling. Kitchen nook was basic essential: clean sink, good working fixtures, no utensils, heavy duty paper towels, double ply Kleenex, floors laminate appeared to be installed 1-2 years ago. There is as a large window size A/C unit which they vented through a wall and neatly duct-taped to close off the wall hole. The finishing of the furnace and older dry wall was a little rough but acceptable. Close to Lake Arrowhead city center, was walkable but you do need to walk along the road without sidewalks so we brought a flashlight for safety in the evening. Jennifer the checkin staff was very friendly and warm. There was a bunch of snacks: Lays Chips, trail mix bar, cans of Coke, popcorn of can microwave in the room, selection of DVDs to borrow, your basic Best Western cereal dispenser, Thomas muffins, peanut butter and Jam family size container. Pleasantly surprised there was a healthier option which I had, fresh strawberries and blackberries and family size Naked juice, and yogurt w only 2 grams sugar. The room had the mini k-cup Peet/Starbucks coffee. For Tv options, you do need to register your personal streaming service with the room AppleTV device. Being in the mountains there was 2-3 bars for WiFi. I heard one unit had ants but ours didn't. Will be back.

For some reason, we thought the Bear Springs Hotel was a lodge. It definitely is not. It's a dumpy…read morelittle hotel squeezed between a busy freeway and a Walmart strip mall. Here's the good: free parking. Now for the rest. Starting with security--or the lack of it. The only visible security was a guy in a security uniform wandering around the "bistro" during breakfast and staring at guests. Other than that, anyone can walk into the lobby, onto the patio, into the bar, up the elevators, and onto the guest floors. No key access is required anywhere. The Wi-Fi situation is also concerning. There's a guest network, but there are also several suspicious room-linked networks showing up. Whether they're legitimate or not, it certainly doesn't inspire confidence. The lobby bistro was disappointing. The food was bland, watery, and overcooked. When I ordered tea, it arrived in a teapot with a broken handle. Not exactly the level of hospitality you'd hope for. The elevator didn't inspire confidence either. The doors began opening before the elevator had fully stopped at the floor, which felt more alarming than convenient. The room itself was pretty janky. A decorative scarf tossed across the bed seemed to be doing a lot of heavy lifting in the design department. The bathroom sink was missing the drain cover, the bed squeaked and creaked with every movement, and the walls were paper thin. We could clearly hear the TV from the neighboring room. There's only a few tv stations and no streaming options. The second floor was noisy overall, with parking lot sounds carrying late into the night and starting up again early in the morning. If you're hoping for a good night's sleep, lower your expectations. The pool and spa area were equally disappointing. The hot tub had food and something dark floating on the surface, and children were using it unsupervised. The view from the pool isn't relaxing either--unless freeway signs are your idea of scenic. What bothered me most was how misleading the photos are. The pool looks lovely online. The room photos show bathrobes that don't actually exist. The food photos displayed throughout the hotel look appetizing and polished, while the actual meals that arrive bear little resemblance to what's advertised. Overall, the photos sell a completely different experience than the one you'll actually get. Aside from free parking, I struggled to find much to recommend here.
