We stopped by on a wym with my family of four after visiting the Wrigley Christmas fest. The aromas from the various types of pizzas is amazing. My family can never decide on one type of pizza and this place solved it. My favorite was the Buffalo chicken pizza because blue cheese is majestic in my eyes. My husband & girls loved the sausage, pepperoni & Italian sliced beef with a giardiniera. The crust was airy, light and crispy. I was able to try multiple slices without feeling super full. It was such a nice experience and we will surely be back. I highly recommend visiting this location because you will be happy you did. read more

Incredible pizza! These guys are awesome. If you get an entire pizza, it's huge (18 x 12). The standard toppings they put on the pizzas (oil, fresh basil, Mikes Hot Honey and some others I'm forgetting) are a great touch. It's a mix between thin crust and "fluffy" pizza. It's a family run shop that owns the bodega next door and they truly make a great pizza with great service. They care and it shows. Do yourself a favor and get a slice or an entire pizza. This place is delicious, reasonably priced and has a super nice staff. They have this topping mixture of hot honey, garlic butter, basil, and some other stuff that is friggin amazing. Pretty sure there is no added cost. At any rate it definitely brings me back The slices are aren't bad either, $5.58 and the size is pretty good The staff too has been super nice every time I have come in. I love the slice shop, I really do. Great pizza and unique flavor among Chicago pizza joints. One problem that I have to remove a star for. The $30 order minimum on pickup orders. I would order from here all of the time if not for that annoying order minimum. I can only order from here for takeout when I have guests at my place because why would 1 person ever order $30 worth of food, especially pizza? That's like a whole pie plus a side. Too much for a minimum. I would be getting pizza, sandwiches, and sides regularly if they would just get rid of the minimum or at least lower it to like the standard $15 (a normal pre-tax subtotal for 1 person's dinner order). Please lower the pickup order minimum so I can have your delicious food more often (and you get more of my money more often too!). And keep making great pizza! read more

Great service, and great slices! This slice shop is fairly new in the Belmont and Clark area, and I decided to check it out after running errands in the area. Their slices are very good. They're square shaped and they have cool toppings to add to your slice like hot honey and basil to it. They have a vodka sauce pizza which I haven't tried but I hear good reviews about. I had their sausage slices and was very satisfied with the taste! They are decently sized for the price and I would definitely recommend this place if you're on the go and need a quick bite. Located just steps away from the Belmont Red Line and the Clark buses, this location is great for a good authentic pizza that is cooked fresh. read more

When I first saw the "grandma" pizza I thought it was going to be some heavy slice of pizza. Wow was I wrong! This pizza is definitely nothing like I've tried in Chicago. The crust is so light and airy its amazing. The ingredients that are put in are amazing. I have never tried beef pepperoni and that was delicious. You can tell the owner has really done his research on this pizza concept. I have never heard of Grandma style (apparently a New York thing) but it's really worth the try. I am glad we stopped in. Delicious, one of my favorite pizza places in Chicago now. Love the toppings they add, really gives it a unique flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and high quality. Pricing is very reasonable which I appreciate. I have found the employees to be nice and the service to be quick and efficient. Only thing I would say is I don't understand why they have a $30 minimum for online orders, especially when a full pizza is $24.99. This prevents me from ever ordering for delivery. read more

I went in to just grab a quick slice of pepperoni pie. I wasn't expecting much because it looks kinda like some random chain on the inside, but I don't care, the pizza was actually great. It would be nice to have a little bit more sauce on it because the sauce was just so flavorful, but it was still an appropriate amount. The pepperoni they use has a slight kick but not overpowering and they curl and crisp up. The cheese was likely low moisture and high quality, good flavor without any pooling. The crust was light, fluffy, firm with no flop, and crunchy on the bottom. The options for oregano, salt, hot honey, parm, crushed red pepper, and basil just makes it feel like these are people who really do know pizza and want everyone to get a slice exactly how they like it. I've lived in Lakeview for over eight years now and I can't tell you how many times I've seen that store front change. I really hope this place is here to stay, they will certainly be getting more of my business. read more

Wow, this place is super great! I don't exactly know what "grandma" style pizza is but whatever it is it's awesome. I would say its closer to Detroit style than anything else. The texture of the crust is perfectly crispy on the outside yet somehow super fluffy on the inside. The slices are gigantic and I love how the sauce's on top of the cheese. In my opinion a lot of places in the area don't put nearly enough sauce on their pizza but there's definitely the right amount here. The last time I was here I got a slice of pepperoni and another slice of buffalo chicken. Both were superb and I would definitely order both again. I look forward to going back and trying there other unique slices. Definitely worth trying if you're in Lakeview area. read more

Stopped by the Slice Shop this afternoon and I was greatly impressed by the taste and quality of the slice. As someone from northern PA near New York, I often crave Buffalo Chicken pizza and can't seem to find a place in Chicago that does it right. That search ended today with The Slice Shop. This was one of the best Buffalo chicken pizzas I've ever had! Service was great and the workers were very nice and helpful. The restaurant is small, but clean and there is enough seating inside to stop and enjoy a slice. Get this pizza; you won't be disappointed! read more

Was hoping this little shop would be tasty and quick. The one slice I did get of the two I ordered was tasty. Not necessarily tasty enough for the 45 minute wait I put in for just a slice of pizza. I ordered 2 to which the staff told me it would be 10 minutes. 45 minutes later he brought me one slice and said it would be another 15 for the second. My lunch break is only an hour unfortunately so at that point I had to ask for a refund for that second slice. I don't normally pre tip on take out (for this very reason), I believe a good tip is for good service. But this time I did since this was a fairly new shop. I should have stuck to my normal procedure and definitely going back to that. A shop that sells pizza slices should have quick and accurate service, which they did not provide. So unless that changes I don't see a successful future unfortunately. read more

We have now dropped into this pizza shop a few times to try ALL the difference flavors.....and we really found that each one was delicious and the pizza was consistently prepared! We really love the crust....kind of Detroit style, kind of sourdough-like, light and crunchy....with quite a variety of toppings. Place is designed as a quick stop for a nice slice of pizza which is awesome for me based it's location. Even better is that the pizza is actually exceptionally good! I have picked up food probably close to 10 times now because it just tastes so good. Only problem is the service!!! If it a quick stop pizza shop and I call ahead more than 5 times and each time they say 5min and I have to end up waiting 10more min even after I get there it starts to become annoying. Today I called ahead at 12:17pm for a quick lunch stop bite to pickup. The same person who always works there told me it would be ready in 7min. My food was not handed to me until 12:49pm. I can't take the service anymore and will not be returning. Such a shame cause the pizza is gas. RIP read more

Got a slice a few minutes ago. Square thick slices, lots of pepperoni on the slice. Pretty inexpensive and delicious. $7 and some change for a big thick slice of pizza and a soda. BTW I did not have one but they had shakes . I'll be back when in the area again read more

Genuinely some of the best pizza in the city. I only bought a slice but I enjoyed it so much that I wish I had bought an entire pizza.
