The food is really good. Idk what you guys put in your food tho i took some buddies here for dinner. The next morning i woke up out of my sleep in pain. I mean i thought for a minute i might need to see a doctor, so i mention it to one of my buddies who went there with us. He said he had the same thing. So we asked the whole group and all of them said they woke up with crazy stomach pain. Today i had a random friend of mine say "yea man it happens everytime i eat there, the food is so good but it always puts me down for almost 2 days" idk what you guys have going on, the food is fantastic but noone i know is wanting to eat it again. Yelp! It's delicious! The best bbq (pulled pork)this southern gal has ever had in the Clt area. All the sides were delicious. We got okra, baked beans, collards, potato salad and hash brown casserole! Everything seasoned to perfection. They have various bbq sauces from your typical eastern vinegar based to a sweet hickory. Try this place! The portions are large and on Wednesday they give you an extra side. I would give a five star rating but the key lime pie I ordered was nasty. It looked old too so I didn't eat it. I love the smoke pit! We've dined in, had it catered to our office, and I have used it for catering an event. We first visited the concord location and I was excited to hear that they were opening a Monroe location as it is closer to me. We came here around 5 on a Sunday night and had a large party of 9. It was pretty empty. The food was great and our server was very nice and attentive. The bbq here is my favorite in Charlotte. The dinner plates are HUGE!! Enough for two meals. They have good hush puppies which is hard to find here in the Charlotte area. They have a casserole of the day option and I opted to go with this- it was the sweet potato casserole. It was pretty good. If you're thinking of venturing out for some bbq tonight for dinner I would encourage you to try the smoke pit out! Whether it be this location or one of the others, I've never had a bad meal here! read more

First time I went here it was pretty busy which was understandable. The staff lied and said 20 minutes, turned out to be 55 minutes. The food was cold and tasteless. This place is a "must stop" when traveling through Monroe, NC! Amazing smoked and slightly fried wings with New York Hot sauce is amazing. My best friend and I got us each a bbq sandwich and fries and it was really good minus the slaw... also we ordered what we thought was deep fried corn but, was disappointed when it got here because it was just regular corn topped with crunchy fried bits... didn't want that so we sent that back. Loved the Smoke Pit! Not a big fan of BBQ but this was actually very good. Meat was cooked well and not tough at all. Very tender and juicy. Also the portions are very large so either bring a big appetite or be prepared to take home leftovers. Would definitely recommend! read more

This place is so good that I'm almost reluctant to write a review. After all, I really don't want it to become too popular. I grew up in eastern North Carolina and have been eating barbeque since I was a child. I like to think of myself as a barbeque aficionado, but I doubt that I really am. This place just has great barbeque, and while it is not eastern NC style, it is the best around. There is a good selection of menu items to include appetizers. Everything I've tried is just great. My usual meal is pulled pork with 2 sides and cornbread. The pulled pork has some of the bark mixed in. You can actually get a burnt ends meal. The sides are good: baked beans, collards, mac and cheese, okra, slaw, etc. The sweet potato tots were recommended, but that just wasn't my thing. I would suggest having hot vinegar sauce available for the collards, which they do not have at this time. Most meals have a small, medium, and large size option. Even the small size is generous. Table service is quick and friendly. There is a smaller location in Concord where customers wait in line to get inside. read more

I was here eating with a friend when the manager called the police on a nice family seated next to us! For the love of all that is Holy, they made an honest mistake (their card had expired) and weren't trying to get a free meal... heck, if that was the case we offered to take care of their bill for them, they declined. They were going to go grab the money and pay, but your staff and Manager told them they could not leave. Then your manager had the audacity to call the authorities and say there were people in the restaurant who were trespassing.? i.e. refusing to pay but refusing to leave at the same time HOW does that make any sense? If they wanted to stiff you, they would and could have just walked right out without paying, not offered to let you hold their Drivers License while they ran to get the cash, leaving the rest of the family behind as well. I won't be coming back, and will make certain to tell my family and friends to do the same as myself -- As others have stated, their food is at least 80% fat and gristle now anyway, not to mention WAY overpriced!! read more

I love it but I don't like the new menu, they took away a lot of stuff, especially the hush puppies, which was one of the things my family went for hush puppies goes with barbecue. Like the food but not the "service" today, a Sunday. We place an order online at 11:40 and a pickup time of "ASAP". We waited one hour and 10 minutes for our food! They weren't that busy and managed to serve everyone at the drive thru window fairly quickly. This ridiculous wait affected our plans and we don't intend to order online from here again. We recently ordered catered food for a party and it was delivered on time and with attention to detail. The food was amazing and plentiful. Ordered for 20 people and received enough food for at least 30 or 40 people. I recommend it for gatherings and social events when you don't want to cook an enormous amount of food. Would be great food if they didn't serve a lot of there dishes cold food. When you eat barbecue it suppose to be fresh and hot.

Went there yesterday to see what had changed. The front is different and the location of the dine-in ordering station is in the back. Doesn't really make sense. They took out the bar and made seating and a to go station that was not working when I arrived, and I think it should be against the wall vs the seating. But that is my opinion. It just feels confusing when you first walk in. The service was nice and fast. The food is good; but I agree from when they opened to about 3 months ago it was better. Turkey was moist and BBQ pork still tasty. Mine was a bulk to go order. Will need to go back for lunch or dinner to really compare another time. Worth a revisit. read more
