Special brunch pop-up menu September 2025

We had the opportunity to attend the special end of Summer Sunday brunch buffet. It was fantastic: price, food, alcohol and staff. If they had this every Sunday the place would be packed. We would definitely come back in a heart beat. The price was so affordable. There were many plated and steamed table offerings besides a carving station and made to order omelets and pancakes. They had some small bite desserts but also full slices of cakes which was too large for us after eating all the brunch foods.

Classy Waterfront dining, friendly service, and excellent food, the Snapper Inn is a winner. Our dining experience was wonderful. On top of everything else, the Snapper is one of, if not the, most accessible restaurant on Long Island. My highest recommendation.

    Warm and cozy indoor dining.

The staff is always welcoming and Jim is always cheerful and accommodating. The food is deliciously prepared and reasonably priced. The lobster salad is one of my favorites! The indoor dining area provides comfortable seating with a warm welcoming atmosphere. The waterfront dining area has a relaxing vibe and overlooks the docks. It's a perfect staycation place. We have brought many friends here, and they rave about the food and dining experience.

What a beautiful night on the water. Perfect temps for outdoor dining. Live music, perfect cocktails, great food and amazing company. My hubby and I had a stellar night. A note to owners, the waitress was amazing you are lucky to have her but she is over worked. It was stressful watching her do it all!! Hire more staff. It would help if you had the cc machines they bring to the tables. So much wasted time and leg work.

It took almost 30 minutes just to have our order taken, another 30 minutes for soup, another 30 minutes for the calamari appetizer, and yet another 30 minutes for our main dish, which was just a lobster roll. What should have been a simple meal turned into an unnecessarily long and frustrating wait. What made it worse was that our waitress didn't seem apologetic at all about how long everything was taking. In fact, she appeared much more attentive to the table next to us, who she seemed to know personally, while we were left waiting most of the time. To add to that, the water we asked for never even arrived. The experience ended on an uncomfortable note when we went to pay. Our card was flagged for possible fraud (likely because we're not from the area). While my husband was already pulling out cash to pay, a man wearing a beanie and chef jacket stood there in a pushy manner insisting we call the bank immediately while he waited. Between the extremely slow service, lack of attentiveness, and the uncomfortable payment interaction, the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. Save yourself the trip and the time -- we should have listened to the reviews before making the drive.

This time, I ordered the Bayside Trio (I think that was the name). One Lump Crabcake over a bed of yellow rice, 3 grilled shrimp, and 2 baked clams served with charred broccoli. Can I just say that the broccoli was one of the best part of the meal? I think that speaks volumes. Where to begin? Lets just get the worst of it out of the way. The Lump Crabcake- (lump Crabcake generally implies that the crab is of good quality) -wasn't. No chunks of crab meat-just mush. Was it the same as the "Maryland Crabcake" listed in the appetizer section? The waitress said yes. Let me tell you, it was NOTHING like a Maryland Crabcake. I'm actually embarrassed for Bayside Clambar for trying to pass off this little crabby patty as a Maryland crab cake. If I was Maryland, I'd sue Bayside for defamation and slander, for them trying to pass their sad little clump of whatever-it-is as a Maryland Crabcake! To me, that was the worst offense, that sad little stepsister...nay, distant cousin ... to the mighty Maryland Crabcake. As if that wasn't bad enough, it was pretty god-awful to eat. I left half of the pathetic little thing on my plate. The shrimp? Undercooked and tough. I left 1 1/2 of the 3 of them on my plate. The rice? Meh, but not horrible. I still left most of it on my plate. Thank Gods the baked clams and the broccoli were delicious-not a crumb of either were left behind. The waitress's lack of care when I told her that this plate was less than mediocre didn't help much. It's official-Bayside Clambar is on my list of places to avoid. I might suggest you do the same and save yourself from disappointment.

I've always loved their New England clam chowder. This visit it was still very good, but it wasn't quite as good as I remembered--the potatoes were a little gummy, and there weren't as many clams as usual. The oysters were excellent--fresh, cold, and delicious. We also ordered the catfish, which used to be marinated, but this time it seemed like the fish was simply cooked and the sauce was poured on top afterward. It just wasn't the same. The biggest surprise of the meal was actually the fries. They were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and honestly one of the best parts of our dinner. We also tried the crab cake egg roll special, but unfortunately it wasn't for us. They were very dry, and the dipping sauce had an unusual flavor that almost reminded us of pumpkin. My husband was hoping to order the soft-shell crab sandwich, but they let us know they were completely out of crab that day. Even with a few disappointments, I still really enjoy coming here for fresh seafood and the gorgeous view. There's plenty of free parking, and the outdoor patio is pet friendly, which is always a huge plus for us.
