We wanted a chill girls night so we stopped by the Sonder Shaker. We got a table at one of their booth and ordered some drinks and French fries to munch on. As a French fry lover, I would say it was one of the best I've had. The waitress was pretty good at stopping by from time to time to ask us if we needed anything else. I love the vibes here and would come again for another chill night.

One of our new favorite places! Drinks were awesome, apps were fantastic, and main dishes were delicious. We were too full for dessert. The server was wonderful and the overall vibe was cool. To top it all off, we were there at about 5, so we also benefitted from their great happy hour deals. Win win win! There is construction on the main road, but we got through quickly and parked nearby. I ordered their Pool Rules (spicy) - it was so good that I got a second one. My hubby and son got their Hazy IPA, a Cherry Rhubarb Cider, and a surprise daily bar tender's choice where you pick the base alcohol - all yummy. We ordered the Japanese Fried Chicken and Brussel Sprouts for our apps. The side sauce with the JFC was yummy, but the maple glazed, pork shoulder brussel sprouts were so good that I'm still thinking about them and will get them every time we go back. For our main dishes, which we also shared family style, we ordered the kale salad, the salsiccia (spicy fennel sausage pasta), and the paella. Of the three, non of us loved the paella, but duck can sometimes vary in flavor, so perhaps we would have liked it on a better duck day. The other two were absolutely delicious with a really nice level of spice to the salsiccia. We are going back this week and will put it on the list to take visitors. Really great place!

Sonder gets it right. Not too fancy bar with pretty good options especially for us vegetarians; the burger is probably one of the better impossible burgers i have ever had. Good service; drinks are ok but would like them to switch it up a bit.

Cocktail menu, half off during HH.

Unfortunately the happy hour is not as good anymore, and only 2-3 cocktails are on HH now. They also increased the price of the HH food items and changed how the kale salad is made, which was my favorite item. My favorite cocktail, Mogwai after midnight, has also been taken off the menu. I can't say I have any reason so go back since all my favorite things have gone away!

The Sonder Shaker offers a beautiful atmosphere in a prime location. The lounge area is undeniably comfortable, and the cocktail menu is enticing (and the presentation is nice, see photo). While the menu had a good variety it is small, and some items weren't a perfect fit for me. The brussel sprouts, which are usually a favorite of mine, were only meh. My dining companion ordered the burger and enjoyed it, but my fish was rather bland and a little rubbery, and the fries too salty. Be careful if you sit by the front windows in the early evening- I was blinded by the sun the entire time. I would suggest that they install sheer blinds to help with this, as I literally wore my sunglasses inside during dinner. The service was a positive aspect of my experience. My server was attentive and friendly. Overall, I was not wowed by the food, but I am willing to give Sonder Shaker another shot in case it was just an off night.

Visited the Sonder Shaker for some pre dinner drinks on behalf of a coworkers recommendation. The place did not disappoint so much so that I need to go back for dinner/lunch. We were celebrating our anniversary and were treated to a lovely complimentary glass (for each) of champagne. Thanks for to our lovely bartender Whitney. We sat at the bar and the seats were comfy and the tv was playing the Timberwolves playoff game...yay! I also indulged in their Poolside cocktail (similar to a margarita) - it was delish. What a beautiful cocktail too! Hubby had some IPAs and enjoyed their selection of beers. The place has very unique decorations which you need to check out and take in. I love the tequila bottle decorated lamp. I really can't wait to come back and check out their food menu. We were right next to the kitchen and everything looked amazing!!!

We were looking for a spot to grab a bite before a showing at The Main Cinema and happened upon this spot. We were a bit nervous with the amount of construction outside, but were happy to see the restaurant was open. We started with the Brussel Sprouts which had the perfect combination of sweet and savory as well as chewy and crunchy. Thank goodness the server warned us about sizing. The small was more than enough! The Sonder Burger had the perfect ratio of beef and fat. The meat was flavorful, the bun was high quality, and the cheese with the Sonder Sauce elevated it further. The fries were crispy while also meaty. This absolutely satisfied my burger craving. The Paccheri Bolognese was out of this world! The sauce was thick and creamy with a hint of spice. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the Ribeye was honestly a surprise beneath the rest of the dish. We thought the ribeye was in the sauce with how meaty it was. Although we were overly full following the meal, we loved every bit of it.

We came for happy hour on a Friday at 4:30pm. There was plenty of seating at this time but by 5:30 it was almost full. There is metered street parking along Hennepin and the side of the restaurant as well. They have some of their popular dishes on the happy hour menu and 50% off cocktails. It's a small simple menu. The brussel sprouts were perfect! I loved the the sweet heat glaze that caramelized on the crispy Brussels sprouts. Add in some pork belly and fresh lemon and muah! Perfecto!. Plus it's a huge portion side even for happy hour. I was really disappointed in the bougie fries though. The parmesan was sprinkled on top and not even melted. I didn't taste any garlic and the fries were stale. The burger was tasty though! No issues with service.

Stopped here for a quick dinner and a couple drinks before a concert at the target field. It was busy but not completely full so we got seated quickly since we had a reservation. The tables are close together which gives it kind of a cozy feel. It was still happy hour so we got some drinks and ordered off of the happy hour menu which was pretty good menu as far as happy hour menus go. Both the drinks were yummy. Exactly what the doctor ordered. The chicken karaage appetizer was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with a pickle and some kewpie mayo. The florist were a little mild but still flavorful. We both got the wagyu burger which was a good smash burger with a good lattice. The Sonder sauce was tasty. And the fries were fresh too. A good first experience and would definitely be on my list when I am craving a burger. Simple but tasty.

Super cute atmosphere and even cuter staff (wink), but kind of a small menu. We got here on Wednesday evening, so we tried the Wednesday special "date night". It comes with one starter, two drinks, two entrées and a dessert for $85. It's a pretty good deal considering. The problem is the entrées. You only have six choices and two of them up charge for the date night special, and two of the other ones are burgers in one's a sandwich. So you're kind of stuck with grill-type food. The starters are kind of unique, and we have the brussels sprouts with hot maple glaze and pork belly. That stuff is flipping delicious! They had several other starters that I would probably rather have than the entrées. For my entrée, I have a jalapeño pasta. Super creamy, not too heavy on the jalapeño, and very very tasty ! For dessert they have very few choices. They got a strawberry tiramisu, ice cream sandwich "who knows what flavor because it's a rotating flavor", and Paul's pie, which is also a rotating flavor. But, I'm visiting Minneapolis and I'm hanging out with my son and I'm eating food and then having cocktails. So what the hell else do I want?? Ha! I would come here again for the atmosphere and the cute staff, and because the location is amazing, the drinks are good, but I would probably just have starters.

After a long trip to Central Europe, I was kindly welcomed home by my friends and immediately shepherded off to The Sonder Shaker for my first meal back in Minnesota. I had never been here before, but basically everyone I know has been raving about this place so I knew I needed to try. We made a reservation which was great since the place was pretty packed despite it being a weeknight so highly recommend doing the same if you plan to visit. The interior design is pretty cool with a sort of a mid-century modern aesthetic that's common at trendy places lately. We all decided to split an order of the Brussel sprouts which was good because they ended up being fantastic. They had a nice sweet and savory sort of flavor, that was perfected with the generous use of their maple syrup. I loved every bite of these and we were all fighting over the last pieces. For the main entree, I decided to go with the Wagyu Burger and Fries. Now, I had really high expectations for this burger as this the one item everyone swears and it still blew my expectations away. The burger is a double smash patty which is my favorite style of burger. The meat is crispy, but yet juicy. The cheese is perfectly melted, and every single bite feels like you died and went to heaven. This may be my favorite burger in the metro area, although it's close with a few others for me. Definitely, the best smash one for sure. It is a little pricey so keep that in mind, but I think it's definitely worth the price every once in a while. Highly recommend everyone check it out!

First time at Sonder shaker and enjoyed my meal. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it comes with side of greens, $19. If you want fries it's an extra buck. The chicken sandwich all comes together so well, it comes with their own style of coleslaw-- it was tasty, chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked. Salad was simple, greens with a sweet dressing-- quite refreshing! I was pleased to see Non-alcoholic Mocktail options on their menu. I ordered the NA pear ginger shrub $11 and it was good, it had a nice bitter tone from the ginger which made my drink feel strong. Ambience was tranquil, low lit area and a lot of people enjoying their Friday night with drinks. I felt comfortable, great spot to chat with friends or date over a meal/drinks. Service was slow, our waitress would forget things but that wasn't something that bothered us too much-- we were in our own world chatting away.

Really cool spot with lots of unique menu options! They don't have a huge menu but everything they do have is not found at many other restaurants and what we tried was all delicious. Would highly recommend the pork wings! The service was pretty average but not bad and the restaurant itself has a classy vibe where you could go for a very casual date or even a super formal event. Will definitely be coming back to try some other options

If we want to bring our kids here during happy hour, are there any menu options for little ones? Totally get it if not.

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Take a long moment to allow your eyes to adjust if you're coming before sunset; this space is DARK. It's also perfect. Once your "night vision" kicks in you're surrounded by a nice bar, numerous bistro-style tables and booths. Candles adorn the tables creating a nice, cozy place to settle in for drinks. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. To close out the visit I selected Palo, a smoked aged rum cocktail that was really nice and rich. My wife chose the Nahualito with rum, walnut, amontillado and white chocolate. All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. Savory cocktails and friendly service will stand out and make you want to return. I know we'll seek it out if we return to Minneapolis again. I hope so.

Fortunately, I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, which was early enough to avoid a line and a velvet rope. I don't wait in line for anything unless I'm at a pharmacy, bakery, post office, or airport. Lines at restaurants and bars strike me as pretentious or bad management, and I don't tolerate either. However, I'm old, and at my age, nothing is worth waiting for unless it's a necessity. I found a seat at the beautiful and expansive bar and looked around at the Del Prado design. The colors might be different, but Flora was reminiscent of Minari and Noma. All three add to the Twin Cities' cachet. However, I was taken aback by the attire I saw around me. People were dressed in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers. It's friggen Saturday night Minneapolis. Have some class! Flora Room was a lovely cocktail lounge, perfect for wooing, but don't expect to strike up a conversation with any of the bartenders. At these Del Prado joints, the staff must be trained not to engage. I'm out alone and enjoy talking. Bartenders used to be part of a lounge's attraction when I grew up in NYC. They learned your name, knew what you did, and gave you a hearty welcome. That, I guess, is not part of the culture in Minneapolis. Well, at least not at the Del Prado restaurants and bars. Chef Del Prado is from Argentina, and certainly, Argentina is one of the warmest and friendliest countries in the world, so I don't get it. I now live up the block from the Flora Room. I'm a neighbor and would like to be treated like one. Neighborly and the Flora Room are distant concepts.

The salmon croquettes with lemon herb aioli and arugula salad that accompanied were fresh and light! The catfish sandwich with fries was hot, crispy and well seasoned with fresh lettuce and tomato on a perfectly tender brioche bun. I want to return so bad for the food but it was clear this host, server, bartender and partial cook was pulled in too many directions and that severely compromised our service and gave us stand off energy as first time patrons. I looked it up and she is actually one of the owners. She came across as irritated especially once we didn't order any alcoholic drinks first and then very short and curt following. What took the cake was her telling us she was leaving for the day and needed to close our tab while we were eating. Didn't ask did we want to order anything else and there was another server taking her place and an empty restaurant! My partner had to put his sandwich down wipe his hands pull out his wallet while she stood there impatiently. Then proceeded to linger around hugging her regular bar patrons. The basement part which is Parlour has a weird smell like a locker room smell so that's why I don't like to eat down here.
