While a tiny place, you're greeted with a wonderful smell as soon as you open the door, embracing your nose like a warm hug. Service was great! Staff was efficient and offered great suggestions, such as when I wanted the grilled cheese but I am not a fan of pepperjack and it was offered to add in some mozzarella instead of the pepperjack and it was not only a thoughtful suggestion, it was an amazing sandwich! I did a combo with the ginger carrot soup and it definitely had the ginger kick but was not too potent for me and I appreciated the suggestion from staff to try this one. Just a couple small quibbles that prevented Loup from getting five stars: - There were no croutons, crackers, or bread served with the soup. That is a must for me and something that can be easily corrected. - The M&M cookie--while quite large--was not great, especially for $4. It's my husband's favorite kind of cookie and he only had about a third of it before passing it on to me. I ended up having it at home with milk (which helped) but it was overall a disappointing and expensive dessert.

Consistently busy over the years and for good reason. I've been here a few times and I've never been disappointed with the service or the food. It's a dark, cozy little restaurant bar but with so much character and history. Service is friendly and efficient. I love that the food I've ordered here has always exceeded my expectations with the seasonings and quality of ingredients used. Reasonably priced too! If you don't have a reservation, you may end up waiting for a table in the back area at a high top but it's a great opportunity to enjoy one of their great drinks in the meantime!

We quite literally came here straight from the airport. To make matters worse, we had not eaten anything substantial all day and had actually looked this restaurant up weeks before our trip while researching places to eat the infamous Wisconsin fish fry, so we were really looking forward to the experience. The experience started off poorly when our party was essentially scolded by the hostess for sitting at a table that apparently needed to be cleaned for the wait list. To make matters worse, the busser laughed and joked that we were "in trouble," to which I could only respond, "Sounds like it." Not exactly the welcoming atmosphere you'd hope for as a first time visitor. The fish fry was decent our tab came out to $150 for 5 people, but the service was absolutely subpar and our tip reflected that. We also had to send back two drink glasses because they were dirty one still had lipstick on it, and another had food stuck to the inside of the glass. Overall, this was a very disappointing dining experience. Between the unprofessional treatment, lackluster service, and cleanliness issues, I would not recommend stopping here. There are plenty of other restaurants worth trying instead.

Pigs in a blanket This wasn't much special. Don't wanna offend anyone, but it tasted just like I make at home, with mini sausage and crescent roll can from the market. Tater tot poutine Nothing special with this one either. The tater tots were just like the ones I get from Aldi. Edison butter burger But things got better with the entree. The burger was very nice. Loved the double burger, perfectly seasoned and cooked to medium. All the toppings complemented it very well, and the fries were also awesome. Flat iron steak sandwich I loved the seasoning and how light pink yummy it was. I asked for the buns to be taken out, and a little extra greens instead, and ended up eating it kinda like a salad, but it was delicious. Flourless chocolate cake We ended up taking the desserts home because we were too full. The chocolate cake was right on the spot for me - not too heavy as some of these flourless cakes can become (more like mousse, which I'm not too keen on). Lemon ricotta cheesecake Light yet packing a punch. This was so good. Overall, a very very nice experience. I have overlooked The Edison thus far - I think i've been to all the other places around the block for this place for some reason. I'm glad we tried it this time. Will definitely be back!

There were several servers hanging around and it wasn't clear where I could order. Sat at the counter and was ignored for 5 min. The server came over and told me to go to the deli area. It was a challenge to understand the clerk. A quart and pint of soup with a bagel and lox was $40. While I waited i read recent reviews and was alarmed. What happened to the best Jewish deli in our area? The lox tasted very fishy, like smoked fish. Unlike any lox I'd ever eaten. I asked for capers and regretted it; there were so many and with only the tiniest shmear of cream cheese, it was inedible. Too salty to be edible. The bagel was ok, but couldn't eat much of it. The chicken soup with mishmosh also disappointed. The lid was swimming in grease. I discarded it carefully. There was 1 matzo ball (ok), tons of noodles (meh) rice (ugh - underdone and inedible) and a kreplach ( I had to spit it out - filling was rancid and sour). The broth was tasteless and unseasoned. What happened to Benji's? So sad.
