This place is incredible. Every single staff member I encountered was cheerful and happy to be there. The gym? Absolutely unhinged--in the best way. Anything you could possibly want is in there. It's really hard to find great prenatal massages, it feels like no one wants to work on sore muscles/ligaments when it comes to pregnancy and just want to do a generic Swedish massage. Nairoby at Trump is an exceptional exception. She took the time to ask me about what I wanted to focus on and actually worked on my knots/aches/pains. I wish I had done a 90 minute honestly. Not only was the massage one of the best I've ever had it is far and away the best prenatal massage I've ever had. The staff is great as well. My pro-tip (especially if you are a second time + mom) is book a morning massage with her when your third trimester gets rough and then spend a few additional hours lounging/enjoying the pool/locker room while your partner holds down the fort at home. We've had many spa treatments over the years and I never imagined that I would have such a poor experience as I did at Trump Tower Spa. It was under construction but no one told me that when I booked. They didn't have locker rooms so I had to lug my stuff around. They did not have robes to fit an XL Man and Woman. And they were using guest rooms as changing rooms with no privacy at all. The lady who booked us also didn't tell us about the pool we could utilize so we didn't have our suits and could not make full use of our fee. I'm dumbfounded. Won't go back. read more

I recently joined the gym/spa at Trump after the open house they offered. I originally went in without the intention of actually signing up, but after using the gym equipment, attending exercise classes, and taking advantage of the amazing amenities both the spa and gym offered, I was very impressed. I'm used to more expansive gyms, but the quality here is unmatched. The weight machines use cables instead of the standard fixed handles. The cables help so much with stabilization that I didn't want to go back to the generic weight machines I grew up using. The staff is also incredibly helpful! The assistant director, Caroline, gave me a wonderful tour around the facility! Overall, I joined because the quality and exclusivity the gym/spa offer are unlike any other gym I've found here in the city. Additionally, the views are pretty epic! read more

I've visited the spa 5 times now. The first four were all excellent, and I recommended the spa to many friends and clients. The first 3 were body scrub services, and the last two were massages. The ability to use the fitness center and spa showers prior to your service are a great perk. While you wait, you can also enjoy some snacks and delicious tea. The other visits were all weekends, so perhaps it's better staffed then. Or, things have gone downhill. Check in and check out were a little slow, but more importantly my masseuse seemed a little inexperienced this time. His touch was too light and sweeping for therapeutic, and when I asked for more pressure, it got very hard and unpleasant. I enjoy a good amount of pressure, but his pressure was more abrupt than soothing. His nails were also kept too long & he scratched me a few times. Please have workers trim their nails regularly. I tried filling out your survey after, but it said I needed a gmail account to do so. Unfortunately, I do not wish to create one, so posting here instead. Please ensure better training to workers and kept nails so that I consider returning at some point. read more

I really don't like Trump. I think he is a con artist and fraud. I boycott all Trump products. I am a "No Trump" anything ever person. I ended up at the Spa at Trump for a bachelorette party. This was the only spot that could fit our party in such short notice. I had a long internal debate about even attending. But I decided that I show up for my friends and in this case that meant showing up to Trump Tower. So there I was, in Trump Tower at the spa. F'ing loving it. It was perfect. The massage and facial services were top notch! I get massages monthly and often visits spas when I travel. This experience was up there with the best I've ever had. The customer service was so lovely. Above and beyond. And the accommodations were so wonderful. We spent hours there. Here's my new position. Trump should quit his current job and go back to running hotels. He's good at hotels. He should do that. I will continue to boycott Trump, with one exception. On occassion, I might put on a hoodie and sunglasses and sneak up to the spa again. read more

As a resident of Trump Tower, the Spa is rather tempting, given that I can get a massage without ever having to set foot into the blistering cold winter of Chicago. Add to that, that residents get a substantial discount on the weekdays, and it should seem like a no-brainer. Yet, as a matter of personal policy and adherence to my principles, I simply cannot patronize The Trump Spa, for one simple reason. At the beginning of every visit, they make you sign a ridiculous contract in which you must agree to "give up substantial human rights". How can I possibly enjoy what is supposed to be a relaxing Swedish massage when just moments prior, I signed a contract giving up substantial rights? If this was North Korea, I'd be agreeing to 20 years hard labor. Additionally, the contract is poorly written: "I release the released parties..." If the policy were to require signing of the contract only on initial visits but not on subsequent visits, I might be able to eventually forget that I have signed such a barbaric document and enjoy the services, but no...they make you sign it every time you visit. Lastly, they include a 20% gratuity on your bill, and while that can be adjusted at the request of the customer, I find it obnoxious and presumptuous when any gratuity is forced. And so it goes, that instead of visiting the beautiful spa just floors beneath me, I trek out in frigid temperatures to Urban Oasis for my massages, where I don't have to sign a ridiculous contract, am not forced into a gratuity, and where the massages are just as good, if not better. read more

Staff was excellent and attentive and it was a perfect day to get pampered. My 'Universal Glow' facial was thorough and the massage was excellent. Front desk didn't mention to my boyfriend when he made the reservation that the men's stream room was out of order so that peeved him. All the ammendities were the standard ones and it wasn't anything too special. My manicure was not trump quality by far. From what your paying and the location where you are you'd expect even coats of nail polish, thorough cleaning and trimming around the nail folds- at the least! (Skin wasn't even trimmed around the nail bed!) Bf's pedicure was better, probably because no polish was involved but even then the manicurist didn't swipe under the nail . He had to ASK her to clean the sock fuzz out! His feet did end up baby smooth with some good laughs. The overall experience was just ok and paying hundred(s) for these services was def not worth it. read more

I did an extra 30 minutes of cardio at the gym just enjoying the view from the 14th floor. Technogym is on hand for your work out, nice choice. While the locker room is ok, many of the details are missed. Towel hooks in the shower loose and upside down. Sinks that don't drain, lotions that are empty and poorly serviced areas contained used, cups and unattended towels. read more

Compared to other 5-star hotel experiences, this spa was one of the less impressive spa. The fact that the walk from the ladies' room to the spa rooms is public, passing people taking pictures and on a tourist trip, then cold water in the hot water jar for tea, and loud ventilation that made it hard to relax inside the massage room. I will say they have large couples' massage rooms and that may be the only time I return.. Btw, they also automatically add 20% gratuity to your spa bills (although you can request to change that before they run your card). read more

It's The Trump. It's expensive. What do you expect? That comb over is not in the business of affordable luxury. While you are going to pay a pretty penny for services here, it includes a lot, and the quality is top-notch. You get full access to the gym, steam room, fitness classes, and amazing locker room with all sorts of amenities. The robes are also A+...cozy on the inside. In terms of spa services, I can only speak to the massages. I have had 4 thus far and every single therapist has been incredible. There is a relaxation room with fruit, tea, spa water, and light snacks. There alot of ups and downs on the spa at trump. The front desk girls are great. It had a multimillion dollar upgrade. The gym,spa , bath rooms are stunning. The entire building is beautiful. But the spa services not so much. I get massages there and 90% of the time the massages are very below par . These massages are are very expensive so i expect them to be A+ . I have found 1-2 massage therapists at trump that are great but thats it ( cant always book with them when schedules don't allow). The past couple of massages the gals doing them seem bored. Their strokes are very slow. I will pay MORE money for a deep tissue which costs alot more than just a basic massage and you constantly have go ask every 5 minutes for pressure . Not to do it harder but just to apply any pressure. It gets uncomfortable. Sometimes if you try to direct them to areas that hurt ( they don't read the forms you fill out before hand so they aren't prepared) or talk about your needs they start talking about up-charges. It's uncomfortable to do this when you are naked and trying to relax i have only seen this happen at trump chicago. Alot of the girls are chatty when doing the massage which takes away from trying to relax. Basically 9 times out of 10 the massages are not great. Which is kind of ming blowing given the price of them. I get massages alot and often at 5 star hotels and every single time the massages are out of this world good but rarely at trump. But the pool and gym are AMAZING with stunning views. read more

I previously had a review here which is no longer here. So I shall rewrite it. I had a mommy-daughter excursion planned while we stayed at trump for my daughter and husband's birthday. She had the cookies and milk pedi and I also had a pedi. My daughter loved her experience, truly enjoyed it. She got to have cookies and milk, and an "ice cream scrub" on her legs. So that made me happy. Me? Well, mine was ok. I guess the basic problem was that the lady doing my pedicure didn't talk much to me -- only to my daughter. The entire time. Which was completely unrelaxing because at the time she was only 3, so I had to decipher what my daughter was saying. It was just irritating. Feel free to focus on the person's feet that you are actually working on. The atmosphere of the place, however, is great. The Spa did offer a free pedicure for me to come back and get, but to me it just wasn't worth it. I have had better pedicures in the building that I work in. I might try it again, but I would not get the pedicure or a manicure. read more

I came here for my birthday and enjoyed a lovely facial and a pedicure! I made sure to come early to use the facility which was extremely clean and quiet. The woman who did my facial has been in an esthetician for over 8 years and gave me a quick summary of my skin. She knew exactly what was going on and she focused on my problem areas. Since it was my birthday she treated me with a complimentary foot massage. The room it self was very large and I was happy with the size compared to the other spas I've visited. The pedicure was so relaxing and they also gave me a complimentary glass of red wine. To wait for my pedicure to dry I relaxed in the lounge area in a very soft robe and got to sip on a few cups of tea. Overall, everyone at the spa treated me with utter respect and class. So disappointing. I was hoping for a nice relaxing spa manicure, and I expected to pay accordingly. I should've left when I heard the manicure was only $35, that should've been my first clue this was not going to be a quality relaxing spa experience. Aesthetically, the spa and lounge is very nice, it's very pretty. Large windows overlooking the city afford a very nice view. The front desk agent who showed me to the lounge asked if she could get me some tea, "sure, that would be great". She made my tea then says "I'll take it into the spa for you" and walks away with it. Um, can I drink it now? I was about 15 minutes early for my appointment and was happy to see something to drink while I waited, no such luck. The manicurist was nice, but I don't really think she had any idea what she was doing. The damage done to my normally very healthy cuticles will take a couple weeks to heal. Somehow she created little spurs on a couple of my nails. Smack in the middle of the nailbed there is a little bit of nail stickin up. How did you do that?! And why?! The polish was chipping before the day was over, I repainted them myself the same night. I had to point out to the manicurist that she had missed the sides on a couple nails, how does that happen? You can't see that strip of pink nail alongside the bright red polish? Really? I called the next morning to let them know how dissapointed I was, which is something I never do, and the manager offered to refund me the cost of the manicure. A little tip for the staff at the Spa at Trump...when someone calls with a complaint, do not make them repeat it!! This is like customer service 101 guys. I understand the agent answering the phone can't handle the complaint, but then tell the manager everything I've already told you! Everytime you make an unhappy customer repeat themselves they get more and more annoyed. I doubt I'll be going back to the Spa at Trump any time soon. Especially not for a manicure or pedicure. My lovely, lovely boss surprised me one night with a gift certificate to the Trump spa & told me it was good for either a facial or massage. Hmmm, which one to get? After a super difficult event (long hours, carrying 6 ft wooden tables by myself...I'm 5'2, try & picture it) I decided I'd treat myself to a massage. I am so glad I did! The space is beautiful. Lots of windows in the spa waiting area, but once I was ushered into the massage waiting area I was surrounded by dim lights, delicious smelling candles, and very cold & tasty lemon water. Yum, yum! While I sipped my water in my luscious robe & slippers I couldn't help but secretly wish I could do this everyday. My massage therapist came to get me, brought me in the room, and explained what she was going to do. We went with the "calming" aromatherapy oil & then she left the room & I left my robe & slippers on the chair & snuck into the satin sheets on the *heated* massage table. Yes! I had an hour long massage & couldn't have been more pleased. My massage therapist worked on my whole body, but really focused on my shoulders & neck which was much needed. I left the Trump Spa feeling relaxed, happy, and on top of the world. The only downside is how terribly expensive it is, so I don't know if I'll be back unless I get another gift certificate. ...hint, hint. read more

Last night a group of us from work went to the Spa at Trump for what was supposed to be a relaxing team outing. We left more agitated than when we arrived! 1. They screwed up our reservation so not everyone got the treatment they had set up. 2. They were completely unhelpful when it came to their mistake! Basically took the attitude of "sorry, but that's how it is" 3. Front desk people were RUDE ... and my favorite part was when we complained about a the rudeness they tried to lay it on the locker room attendant who was the best thing about the experience. 4. 3 out of the 5 treatments we got were merely OK. 1 of them was down right bad! Our 6th person wound up with no treatment at all thanks to their scheduling mistake. I don't know how the rest of the world feels, but when a party of 6 people comes in paying rates like this I'd think that these people would bend over backwards to make sure they had a pleasant experience. I'm truly disappointed. I will say thank you to the locker room attendant and the guy who had only been on staff for a week for at least making an effort to be nice to us. As for the rest of the staff I encountered, if I was your boss I would have you all fired, you work at a Spa, people go to you to feel relaxed and pampered, not to be treated rudely. read more

If you look at my track record I don't often rag on an establishment. So giving one star to Trump needs to be better explained. As far as our room and the staff everything was superior. However I made the grave mistake of ordering an in room massage. Being a former MT I'm critical so you have to be good to impress me. I figured Trump would have only the best of the best working his spa. I was in desperate need of a massage and soooo looking forward to it. WOW was I disappointed. The therapist gave me a fast, sloppy, no feel good rub for $222.00 (they add 22% gratuity if I recall) and being in the service (massage specifically) I believe the tip should reflect the quality and satisfaction of the service. I've gotten into arguments on the boards for this but I stand by my theory. I wouldn't have tipped my MT that much for all the tea in china. I've had better massages at $59 hole in the wall joints than this. Maybe it would have been better if I had gone to the spa but I didn't want to leave my room for anything, and the MT comes from the Spa I would have walked down to so..... HORRIFIC! I have gone to many spas is my day and trust me when I say this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I was greeted with a truly condescending attitude, which should have been an immediate red flag. Before the treatment began I went to the bathroom and while it looked decent from the doorway the stalls were filthy and the mirrors had finger prints all over them. There were even ANTS AND SILVERFISH! I am all about relaxing but it is hard to relax when you are worried that something that is getting put in your face may have come in contact with insects that could very easily carry harmful bacteria. This totally made me feel like my experience meant nothing to those working there. read more

The floor was super sticky and the women was chewing gum throughout the massage. I thought ok whatever but then she was popping bubbles. Who pops bubble gum while giving a massage. My massage was definitely cut short by 12 minutes with no explanation. I don't think this women looked at the clock to time it at all. read more

My boyfriend and I received massages here a few days ago. I was expecting a lot due to #1 the Trump name, #2 the cost of our massages (double what we pay elsewhere), and #3, all the fantastic reviews. It was both good and bad, and here's why: GOOD -The coolest shower I have ever experienced in my life! In the locker rooms, there is a 9 jet custom showering experience with lights, temperature therapy, and all these crazy settings. That was real cool. -My massage was a 4/5. I received a deep tissue massage from John. He was very responsive to my needs, made me feel comfortable, and hit some good spots to relieve my tension. -The facility is nice, plenty of towels, robes, bottles of water (my favorite). BAD -Because it was a Saturday, the place was littered with children. Its hard to relax when an 8 year old boy is scream-singing at the top of his lungs, in the women's showers, as I was showering. -We ordered lunch, which was served right after our massages, in the pool area. Same thing- weekend at the pool meant 20 screaming kids. Immediately following a massage? The last thing I wanted to be surrounded with -For the money- I just wasn't that impressed. Had a facial today with Monica-the Dermal Quench which is Kate Sommerville's trademark facial. Unbelievable. I'm a person who pays attention to the little details. That is the difference between a fabulous experience and ho hum. I used to be an esthetician so I know a fantastic facial. Her massage movements were excellent which is 70% of a great facial. She also didn't smell funky (not good if they are hovering over your face), smoke (always a huge no no when it comes to estheticians) , or have any things to annoy like disgusting sweaty hands, shakey hands, OR being overly chatty w silly small talk which annoys me. This is a "must have" facial for all spa and skin care addicts. Also the front desk was professional, decor clean and soothing and everything so clean. Best spa slippers ever. Love the tea, the locker room, views. I've been to all 4 luxes and the best spa of all of them is by far the trump. What many "spa managers" don't get at these luxe hotels is that you have to know what a good facial feels like and managers who haven't been estheticians sometimes don't know the difference. There is a certain culture you must cultivate to be the best in the spa industry and whoever is managing at the Trump Spa Chicago-gets it. read more

I came to Trump Spa with a gift certificate I received for my birthday, otherwise, I'd probably never splurge on a spa this expensive. I didn't want to go alone so I gave an equal gift certificate to my mom for Christmas. I booked us simultaneous hot stone massages for 60 minutes. When I booked the massage the gentleman working told me to come early and enjoy the pool, steam room, fitness center and sauna for the entire day. We definitely came an hour or so early to indulge. I was shocked when I walked into the pool. There were kids everywhere - this is not what I was expecting for a spa pool. Apparently, as a guest at Trump hotel you get access to everything the spa guests have access too. It all made sense when we next went into the steam room which was also filled with kids as well as the locker room and shower area. I am not a snob but there are places kids belong and there are places kids don't belong. I don't think that kids belong in a steam room where they spend the entire time opening and closing the door. Fortunately the massages were unreal. It was our first hot stone massage and I have never received a better massage in my life. Daniel and Sean were definitely worth the money and if I can, I will return. The Spa at Trump's facilities aren't worth the whole "spa experience" but the massages were worth it so I guess I can't say I walked away unhappy. read more

Loved it, can't say enough about the place. My wife and I had the couples massage and it was great. Classy establishment, clean, relaxing, inviting facility. The staff is great and the massage therapists were some of the best we had in a long time. They were professional, courteous and made us feel at ease. They were really good at their jobs. We will definitely be back. Piece of advice for anyone that is thinking about going and is reading these reviews, if you want something specific just ask for it, from hot table or hot eye mask or certain mussel to concentrate on, just ask, these guys will go out of their way to accommodate you. read more

I am not a huge spa girl as I have been disappointed quite a bit in the past. Just selected a massage, no facial or anything else so no can't comment on those things. Massage was a little better than average, but pricey (expected). I work out often and have tender muscles & joints, but it seemed like my girl was doing a 'basic' massage instead of more of a deep tissue as asked for before & during the session. A little delicate for my taste, but finding a compatible masseuse is not easy. The whole experience was top notch though, from the presentation, the rooms, the lotions to the linens. The high volume shower was incredible! Recommend going for that alone! I am now looking into upgrading my shower.........This is a great special occasion treat (it's a Tuesday!)
