Just had an absolutely awful experience here. After putting our order in and paying for it we still didn't have our order after 90+ minutes of waiting on a Monday at lunch time. The kitchen staff seemed absolutely lost and the manager was clueless. Once our food finally came out it was cold. Not lukewarm but COLD. My wife's order was also completely wrong. Our food had clearly been sitting for more than 30 minutes and they were just letting things pile up and delivering food to whoever was actively complaining. I'm sorry to say but I give the Spot on a scale from one to ten(the best) a three. I ordered a hamburger and the shrimp po-boy with onion rings. They delivered it to my room- the bun was soggy, no condiments. The poboys bun fell apart while trying to eat it. No onion rings. They said it was extra. I would have paid extra to have the onion rings. Went next door and got my onion rings Was not happy with the whole situation. read more

I've been here a couple of times and always have a good experience. This is the place with like 4 or 5 different bars, each with a different theme. I just typically go and chill in the main eating area. I've tried their signature burger and the chicken wings. Both were pretty good, and come as decent-sized portions. I wouldn't say the food is amazing, but it's good and worth the money. Their shakes are really good too! You order at the counter. Once your food is ready, they bring it to your table. If you're seated far from the counter area you may have to go and get it yourself cause they won't be able to see the number on your table. The servers are competent and helpful. I've never had a problem with them. There's parking both in the lot and on the street. It's a very touristy area, so be prepared to be around a lot of people, especially during lunch time. read more

The food and drinks were great per usual, but the service was sub par at Tiki. They started doing a card swipe/hold at the beginning of service which is great considering the amount of traffic. But as soon as we told our server Desiree that we were "all done" (the typical practice is to close out your table, right?) Well, she proceeded to delay presenting the check as she dealt with a complaint from another table who also mentioned her just "running off". Fine, but as time goes by she continues to ignore our table to the point where I embarrassingly have to call for her to close out our tab. At which time the other man who had been neglected in the corner also requests to be closed out. I'm not sure what the "walked tab" tip policy is but don't fall for it. They took away the fix'n bar and when I got my burger it was dry and obviously didn't have any veggies on it. (Should have warned me at the counter when I ordered.) Nancy on the tiki bar side is the worst and so unwelcoming! If you see you got her switch tables!! Geeez. She was so pissed we didn't know when they claim everyone has to order at the counter and sit anywhere you are not welcome to sit by the bar area. I would rather have sit down service than have to order at a counter I just didn't know. When we arrived Nancy lectured us and made us feel unwelcome. Even though the people at the counter said you can sit anywhere. Then she ignored us the whole time. I had to flag her down for a refill and then got lectured again and told not to ask her for anything else. Needless to say I rather go anywhere else. Also would it have been so horrible to have to ask if we're doing okay or offer a drink or desert menu? Or ask if we needed anything at any point? Went here 2 different times in 5 days. The first time I got the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly battered and golden. I'm not a fan of coated potatoes of any kind, so I was not fond of the fries, not the restaurant's fault. We sat outside and enjoyed the view while sipping a perfectly made rum runner. The second trip, we ordered onion rings instead of waffle fries. The rings were lightly breaded and absolutely delicious. My patty melt was huge and I brought half of it home!!! The concept of this place may sounds cool but its just usually a hot mess when it gets packed here. Its too much when everyone has to go and get their own food. I love the fact that it's right on the water and there is a good view of pleasure peer outside on the second floor. We started out with the chips and queso. The queso is modeocre and the chips were served cold and stale. We ordered the blackened fish tacos with onion rings and the spicy fish tacos with waffle fries. The only thing to look out for is scammers at parking, apparently I had to pay $10 for parking when the "signs" were in janky hand writing on cardboard instead if legit metal board on a metal post. Just the best place to eat any where world! Just about the best place to eat anywhere in the world is an understatement! Dennis Byrd has done an remarkable job with a couple of rundown old houses to create one of the most vital experiential dining places in the world. It's not a bad drinking place either. He always has an eclectic group of people at the spot and if you don't like where you're sitting or the people you're sitting with all you have to do is move about a 5 feet one way or the other and you'll be perfectly astounded at the change and the types of people. Dennis has some time for everyone in the way of food drink and entertainment and if you can't find what you're looking for there, he will help you get it. First of all if you can find parking at a busy time you are very lucky. My son and I came during the week on President's Day so it was not overly packed. The menu you that you see in one place will be the same as the other venues. There are five venues I believe the one on the left when you walk up the wooden stairs is a 50's themed type, the one on the right on the first floor as well is a regular little bar type and upstairs to your right I was told was a tiki type bar and I read another review that they ID you are there in the right side. I'm not sure but she explained it to me something to me that it was called " The spot", but it does not mean much to me at the moment. If you continue walking to the back from the first floor it is definitely a Latino type venue with the music and such. Maybe I am wrong about this but the only restroom I believe that was pointed out in the Latino part which would be pretty hectic if even a quarter of the patrons wanted to go at the same time, it's a person thing. Okay, chip off the old block and I finally got the food and needless to say like the other reviews the kitchen is a clusterF. They must have lost our order something but the very attentive waitress made sure we got our food after she fired it back. It was nothing to be wowed about but it was decent as in flavor and the heat of it. The process is kind of weird, you order what you want from the waitress and then you pick it up from the counter when your name is called, if the kitchen doesn't lose your order but it comes out okay. Before you visit here you need to understand that this is for the socialist part of it, you're not going to get a cheap food nor at peak times get that service that you want but on a normal day where they are not overrun the experience. Decided to grab the last table in Squeeze(There's four bars in this crazy place! The vibe is crazy! Gives off Spring Break forever. Nice view of the Gulf as well! So we had a party of 55 individuals. We called and asked for a reservation, and they had an upstairs room for us. Ordering for 55 people can be a headache. So this time we ordered family style dish. Love this spot! It's right on the seawall in Galveston, easily within walking distance of the beach area near Pleasure Pier. Parking is near within a few blocks too if you drive there. It's quick ordering at the counter then go find your own table. There are lots of tables but it also has lots of rooms upstairs and downstairs. The food is great!
