Recently, a couple of extra sides I had added were missing. Nothing major, but if you've ever tried to get DoorDash to fix something, you know it's basically a full-time job. And honestly, it wasn't worth the headache to even attempt calling them over a few sides. So instead, I just called The Stand directly. Enter: Tyler. I think he's a manager, but in my book he's now the salad whisperer. Before I even finished explaining, he cut me off with the kind of confidence and pleasant glee usually reserved for someone who just hit every green light on the way to work: "Don't worry. Next time you order, just call me--I'll take care of it." no going back on the DoorDash order, no confirming name, NOTHING. I thought, "Mhm, sure, this will never happen, he'll forget about this silly minute an important conversation in 2.5 seconds, and think about WAY MORE important things." Fast forward four days later. I called again, asked for Tyler like he'd mentioned, and without missing a beat he said, "Tell me what was missing," and then, just as casually, "Come through the pickup line--I'll take care of it." No hoops, no hassle. Here's the part that really got me: I showed up fully prepared to pay. The original order wasn't even messed up enough to warrant anything free, so I honestly thought he might just throw in a side or make sure everything was correct this time. But when Tyler said, "I'll handle it," he really meant it. No charge. Just pure kindness. In a simple word: thoughtful. And I feel it's necessary to emphasize here, had I paid, I literally would have written the same review because again, he didn't owe me anything. When anything, no matter how minor (like my measly missing extra sides) is wrong with your order, you have to call the third-party to fix it, the restaurant has nothing to do with it. When I got there, another team member helped me at the counter, and she was just as wonderful as Tyler. She handed me what can only be described as the Cobb salad of epic proportions--seriously, this thing could have had its own ZIP code. I wish I'd taken a picture, but my salad obsession completely took over. Normally, The Stand's Cobb salad is already generous enough that I split it into two meals. This one? Definitely stretching into three. To top it off, I realized I had forgotten to specify that I wanted ranch instead of vinaigrette. Totally my fault, and I immediately felt like "that customer" (you know the one). But instead of side-eye or sighs, she just smiled, didn't miss a beat, and got me what I needed like it was no big deal. I even apologized, a little embarrassed, and she made me feel completely at ease--like I hadn't just pulled a diva move over dressing. That right there is the magic of this place: kindness without judgment. And it wasn't just Tyler or her--every single staff member I encountered was warm, friendly, and actually seemed happy to be there (wild concept, I know). We were looking for some dinner and found The Stand on yelp. Reviews looked good so we thought we would check it out. Inside had tons of seating and outdoor seating as well. Inside was semi clean, but few tables had food still sitting from previous customers. Service was super friendly. We placed our order and we took our number and found a seat. Food took a while to come out, but once it did it was tasty. We loved the house made fries and guac. The fire fries were disappointing, they were completely soggy from all the sauce. I'm not a big burger person, but I would gladly keep coming back here. First of all, their food options in general are just crazy in terms of how much they offer. Most burger places stick to burgers only, but honestly, EVERYTHING on their menu sounded amazing. I stuck with the Havarti Shroom with the Brioche bun because I love a good shroom burger with sweet potato fries on the side. We ordered literally every sauce as well. Service was really quick for 4 burgers and 2 shakes. When I brought it home and took the first bite, I was BLOWN AWAY. The meat was so well cooked and juice. It was a solid medium rare. All of the textures and sauce in the burger were amazing. I can't remember the last time I had a burger that good. You can't go wrong with any of the sauces either. I didn't have a favorite. The inside looked pretty new that was probably the only good thing. I got the Stand burger with some modifications. I added some guac which they totally missed. I also added some mushroom and cheese. I think that was a good touch to it but their burger patty I asked for a medium and it felt like a well done so they kind of failed on that part. The server that took my order was a little bit impatient. I asked him about how big the patty was and he did not handle that very well. This is just pretty much a basic burger place. Was very displeased with my Togo order yesterday and the only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the milkshake was yummy and I've been here multiple times and the food is normally delicious for the price. Ordered multiple things to go Friday night as we were all feeling under the weather and didn't want to dine in. First time ordering Togo and will be my last. I had the stand burger and the patty was so overcooked and dry and there was little to no sauce making it pretty much inedible for me I had one bite and tossed it. My son had a kids burger which was just burnt/dry patty on a bun, no condiments or anything. My husband had the jalapeño burger which also had pretty much no sauce but was tolerable as there are a lot of other ingredients that helped him scarf it down. I had a miserable dining experience at The Stand on Alton Parkway in Irvine, California. I am literally going to be sick all night because someone on the staff completely jacked up my order, which was supposed to be a burger with pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, burger sauce and mustard. Several bites into the burger I was surprised by how much mustard I tasted, then a few bites more and I saw bacon and tasted something cheesy. It was blue cheese! I am very lactose intolerant and at past one in the morning I am still up with bloating and horrible gas! To add insult to injury when I asked to see the manager, I am pretty sure the man at the counter and his buddy gaslighted me. Sometimes you just have to have a sandwich and when you're with friends and you need to do takeout, this place is an excellent place to order from. I had the chicken club sandwich and it was delicious. The sweet chili aioli was perfect accompaniment and glad I got an extra side to add and dip my onion rings in. I also got the Baja peppers that added a little kick and acid to the sandwich. Next time, I'll get the burger, but the chicken hit the spot. There's a lot of condiments that may be a great addition to your sandwich/ burger, so don't overlook those. The onion rings stayed crispy and it wasn't overly battered. First thing I noticed was the bathroom was out of soap and paper towels, and when that happens, the kitchen and servers are touching and serving your food and drinks with peepee hands. My favorites are the Onion Stack and the French Onion Soup (yes, that is still a burger).
