    Southwest Chicken Wrap
    Amy B.

The Southwest Chicken Wrap is one of their healthier items and I love to get a side of ranch sauce as I'm a ranch sauce fan more so than the chipotle crema that the wrap comes with. It's still a lot of calories so I only eat this once every 2-3 months, but it's great quality and very clean and tasty. The staff are very hardworking and honestly they seem a bit understaffed, but their meal benefit is still kinda cool, I'd imagine, given the awesome variety of popular foods here! The vibe is very inviting, clean, well-maintained, and casual friendly with a bit of the dimmer sports bar vibe although I'm not aware that they necessarily serve alcohol or have sports on TV. Overall, one of my shortlisted food spots in OC for everyday food at an awesome quality and reasonable pricing!!

    Kale Quinoa Crunch Salad

Perhaps due to being counter service, The Stand hasn't been on my radar for dining destinations. I'm glad that our family member selected it, as it completely satisfied our cravings for salads. I thoroughly enjoyed my choice of Kale Quinoa Crunch Salad, chock-full of quality ingredients, tasty flavors and textures. There's limited, tight seating available inside; I appreciate and prefer the open-&-airy seating options outside (especially on a nice day) -- which makes it fun if others in your party opt to order from the other dining establishments. Given the seemingly small number of people around, service was far slower than expected, but appreciatively pleasant, helpful, and professional. I like that they identify their options for those with food allergens (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy free). Fun experience for a casual meal. Eager to taste more off their menu!

Short Rib Grilled Cheese, French fries

This sandwich is hard to beat. It hits every mark, without fail! Every bit of it just marries together so well, and the portion is quite large. Their fries are also a hit, especially with ranch. The ranch is garlicky and thick, and doesn't seem like a traditional dill and buttermilk recipe. As for service, the waitstaff were very quick and eager to please. The outside seating at this location is also quite nice.

I love The Stand!! It was my first time at this particular location and it's as amazing as ever. Huge location with a fantastic patio with tons of great seating. My favorite is their Veggie Bliss Burger. The crispy onion straws, house made veggie patty and all other ingredients make each bite more and more delicious! They have fabulous sides, like the crispy French fries or Mac n cheese with crunchy bread crumbs. I highly recommend getting a side of their creamy ranch and some complimentary pickles! Plus, the brownies are to die for! All the staff were kind and helpful. It's an order at the counter type of place and then they bring you your food, and even buss it at the end. It's a 10/10 at The Stand!

The Stand is a decent neighborhood burger joint for a casual meal. You order at the counter and get a number to take to a table. I like that they have a veggie patty that isn't fake meat, but made of quinoa, brown rice, black beans, carrots and corn. Their Veggie Bliss is a nice alternative to a regular burger, with fried onions, pepper jack cheese, guacamole and pickled red onions. They also have a good turkey burger, if you're avoiding red meat. Onion rings are good, but greasy. You can choose two sauces to go with it. Indoor and outdoor seating available (I prefer outdoors to soak up the sun). The Stand has a nice selection of beers on tap. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Dropped by on a weekday to try their salads and ordered the chimichuri steak salad with charred corn vinaigrette. The portion was generous but the steak wasn't the most tender and the chimichuri had an unusual taste that didn't work for me. I also ordered the sweet potato fries which were tasty at first but quickly lost their texture and became soggy. On the upside, the service was friendly and the ambience was inviting. They also offer burgers and wraps I might try on my next visit.

    Barbecue Brisket Sandwich

Excellent lunch with the Barbecue Brisket Sandwich and the Quinoa Kale salad w added grilled chicken! Great food choices that are healthy and prepared fresh. Terrific and friendly service. Tables on patio with umbrellas for shade. And outside are so we could eat lunch with our dog. Highly recommend.

Ordered takeout so cannot comment on service and ambience. Honestly was super surprised by how good the piri piri chicken bowl ($15) was. The chicken was not all dry and the rice paired well with the dish. I also got their agua fresca ($4) which tasted good. Highly recommend.

My first visit and it was AMAZING . One of the better burgers and more places I've been to and I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend! Their menu is pretty large. You can build a burger or choose one that is on the menu. I got a protein style onion wrap which comes with a juicy 1/3 lb. burger w/ quality meat , hickory sauce and bacon. I opted out of the bacon. I would definite recommend ordering ahead if getting to go - which I usually do but in this case I was killing time until hotel check in so I didn't . Both young men at counter were nice and Daniel was especially pleasant and helpful. They have beer and wine here- please see photos for additional info and pics on this. Ambiance is casual dining w/ various beer and wine offerings and specialty beer on draft . Super casual dining atmosphere with seating inside and out. Try the blueberry lemonade or cucumber mint refresher. I mixed them both and it was beautiful. The only thing that could e possible been wrong is I didn't have any ketchup or ranch in bag to go w/my fries. Will be back when I'm in town.

    Chinese Chicken Chop Salad

We've lived in this area for over a decade, but never made it out here. We finally did and it was ok. I had my first experience for this restaurant chain at the location in Tustin. The Irvine spot is a lot smaller than the one in Tustin. I think the higher ceilings at Tustin gives it a more spacious feel. And there are more dining tables for larger groups and roomy booths at the Tustin location. Our server, Destiny was very helpful and diligent. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad since it seemed like a popular salad according to the reviews. I requested to replace the spring mix with Romaine salad instead. Destiny double checked an ingredient to make sure that it was not in the salad to accommodate my allergy. Kudos to her for her thoughtfulness. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the salad. It seemed like there was more dressing than actual lettuce leaves. Also, one would think that the almond slivers would be an included item in the salad, but it was an additional charge, so no thank you. It seemed like whoever prepared it didn't really execute it well. This was my husband's first time trying their food. He enjoyed the burger and fries, and his input was that he wished the burger was a little bigger. Maybe we'll return in the future.

    Ashley D.

Everyone needs to try this place! The food is amazing! We tried the big blue and the French onion soup burger and oh my Goodness they were amazing! The staff so friendly, the restaurant was clean and was just a cute vibe! We would definitely be returning customers! Highly recommend!

Maybe I should have gone to Subway instead? The Stand offered a BOGO 50% off offer for certain locations in February and March, but only on weekdays not named Friday. I missed out on February, choosing Blaze Pizza over Subway and The Stand, which proved to be a horrible decision. This time, I chose The Stand over Subway, and while it wasn't a horrible decision, it certainly wasn't as good a decision as I had hoped. Only five locations had this offer: Chino Hills, Valencia, Long Beach, Irvine, and The Woodlands, the last of which is in the Lone Star State. Though I'm closest to Long Beach, I realized that by visiting the Irvine location, I will have visited 4 out of their 5 locations in Orange County, and I really wanted to see how this one ranked*. The first thing I noticed when I entered was bar style seats right next to the order line? Who thought of this idea?! I wouldn't want customers waiting in line to be looking over my shoulder and watching me eat behind my back. Because of that, I decided to sit elsewhere after I placed my order with Julio. Julio was pretty chill at ringing me up, remaining patient with me as I was being pretty fastidious with my order. I initially made a mistake of requesting Stand Burger sauce on the burger when I actually wanted it on the side instead, but Julio made the switch happen seamlessly. His patience remained after I asked a multitude of questions about the burger, but when the transaction was complete, he looked so stoned I was almost scared what would happen next, handing me my receipt so anticlimactically that I missed the pickles on ice, which were to the left of the other register, the first time. I was at the rightmost register closer to the kitchen, and it's easy to miss those pickles if you're not paying attention. Luckily, I picked up some after my meal. I asked Julio how long the wait would be, and he said 5 to 10 minutes, but I knew it'd be longer from my experience at other Stand locations. Actual wait time was 14 minutes, but what gets me is that 5 minutes after I ordered, a couple of women sat at the table next to me, and they actually got their order, a larger one no less, a minute before I did! First come, not necessarily first serve here, which was quite a damper to my visit. Julio handed me my order with his joviality revived. The Kale Quinoa Crunch Salad became Kale Quinoa Too Much Crunch Salad as I was fearing that I'd bite on some hard foreign substance, which I don't believe there was. The kale didn't seem as fresh, and two of the avocado slices were much more browned out than the rest of the avocado. How?! The BYO Burger with Beef Patty had good taste overall, but the veggie toppings were pretty dry and didn't complement the burger very well. I requested sweet chili aioli on the burger itself, and while it was tasty, they didn't add nearly enough! Good thing I got some jalapeno scallion aioli in a separate cup; otherwise, that burger would have been so dry and tough to eat! I'm sensing this is a commonality at The Stand where if you request a sauce on a BYO burger, they skimp on that sauce, so be sure to ask for a second sauce, preferably on the side, to go with your burger! The Kale Quinoa (Too Much) Crunch Salad is $10.50, and the BYO Burger with Beef Patty is $9.75. I wanted to add arugula, a 25 cent upcharge, to the burger to earn a 16th point with my order after the 50% off on the second entree, but here's an interesting fact I recently learned that's worth sharing: if that burger were $7.75 instead of $9.75, I would have only earned 14 points instead of 15. Another interesting fact I learned from Julio is that you can't add arugula to a Stand Burger, my initial choice, so I had to nix the Stand Burger and BMO (Build My Own). About as mind-boggling as The Stand standing by their decision to not utilize napkin dispensers and have the employees handle the napkins beforehand with gloves that may have also handled food or money. I used the restroom right after I placed my order, but before I sat at a table. The floor was so sticky that it almost felt like I was walking on bubble gum, a stark contrast to the immaculate floors at nearby Gelson's. Maybe they could learn a thing or two from that grocery store regarding cleanliness. So while the food was alright and fine overall, a lot of marks were missed. I'm currently planning for two catering lunches at work, and I was considering The Stand for one of them. After my dinner here, I'm now having second thoughts, hence the 3 stars. I'm still considering them, hence the more than 2 stars, but my confidence level for my guests enjoying a nice meal from The Stand has unfortunately dwindled. * My numerical rankings of the locations I've visited are as follows: 1) Newport Beach - 8.25/10 2) San Juan Capistrano - 7.5/10 3) Long Beach - Just know that the first sig fig is a 6 4) Irvine - 5.5/10 5) Tustin - 5/10, though I'm willing to give them a second try since I forgot about the sauces there

I would like to say that we both really like this location. The ambiance is nice, there's a lot of seating, indoor and outdoor. Good spot to hang out with friends and family. The food was very delicious, so kudos to the cooks and a big thanks to the guy at the bar, he handled everything very well. That being said, our experience was not the best. Upon entering the establishment, we browsed the menu for a couple minutes and came up to the counter when we were ready to order. We were not greeted or even looked at by the cashier so we weren't sure if she was busy or waiting to take our order. She finally made eye contact so we started ordering. She asked us something but the music was a little loud and there were customers chatting at the bar so it was a hard to hear. We apologized for not hearing and she repeated herself in a very annoyed tone and rolled her eyes. She already seemed annoyed as we entered the establishment so the entire process of ordering was very uncomfortable and her attitude after we missed what said, was very rude. She was giving us dirty looks our entire stay. When we got our food dropped off by the same cashier (I believe her name was Kadence as stated on the receipt) everything looked fine except they forgot to give us our sauce on the side. Not a huge deal, my husband went up to ask for it and the guy at the bar was very nice, even gave us extra sauce. We got to eating and when my husband took a bite of his sandwich, he bit into bacon and we do not eat pork! He was very upset and doesn't like to make a fuss (normally would eat the sandwich even if it was the wrong order) but again, we do not eat pork and not eating pork is a big deal to us so he just wanted the sandwich he ordered. I went to the register to ask if we can have the correct sandwich made and let them know they can take the other sandwich back and once again the guy from the bar came to help, our original cashier did not want to make eye contact, didn't bother coming up to the register or apologized for anything. We felt bad because they threw away the whole sandwich, which I know is the typical process for the food industry but still sad seeing the food go to waste. While we were waiting for the correct sandwich, Kadence was still giving us dirty looks so we decided to go eat outside and from outside we could still see her in the window continuing to give us dirty looks! Laughable at this point. My husband and I are both very friendly and understanding people, we always love to give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was having a bad day and it was an honest mistake, but her demeanor just made things very uncomfortable. Overall, we would not come back to this location as there are two other locations closer to where we live and their staff is always very friendly and helpful.

Food: This was one of my favorite spots to go to for lunch or to cater from during college!…read moreMendocino's sandwiches are amazing, especially their Not So Fried Chicken, Vegan Banh Mi, and Happy Hippie! I've heard the Peruvian Steak, Prosciutto, and Chicken are good too! My only feedback with the Happy Hippie is that there is slightly too much filling, so it falls when you are eating the sandwich. Each of their sandwiches comes with two halves and is filling and satisfying. They also use fresh, vibrant vegetables, and a store associate told me their bread is baked fresh every day! Service: The service here is half the reason I come! A lovely store associate will guide you when ordering, and they will bring the food right to you! When they bring the food, there are two napkins on the tray. If they see you carrying your tray after you are finished eating, they will also offer to take it for you! Although the sandwich prices are slightly premium, you are paying for their healthy ingredients and exceptional service! Ambiance: This restaurant is spacious with many tables on the inside and outside! Their bathrooms are also really clean and well kept! Please go here for a healthy, non-bloating meal when you're in the area!

Tough call... This is my favorite Mendocino Farms location…read moreout of at least five I have been to around Orange County. The problem with this sandwich chain is one and only: They have a huge issue with quality consistency. Ask their managers and they will tell you that the portions and sandwiche ingredients are strictly measured, but as a customer you know that's not the case. You go to some places and get these tiny sandwiches with two slices of bread and barely any ingredients in between. The Tustin location, located in Whole Foods has been the worst offender at this by far. Now this Campus Drive location has been creating the best, most generous, consistent sandwiches. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen every time still. It all depends on who you get as you cook on that day, crafting your sandwich. Some day sandwiches that get to the table are juicy and enjoyable, and sometimes, they come out to be disappointedly small, with minimum amount of ingredients. I had to complain to the manager a couple of times, but it doesn't help. Every time I come here, I pray to get the right chef who will make my sandwich well. Absolutely hate being at their mercy.
