As you might know, the Standard Pour is related to Diamondback in Sonora although the it's focus is craft beer while Diamondback's is fine wine. Both restaurants clearly focus on outstanding ingredients that are artfully prepared. In other words, they are both foodie restaurants without the pretentiousness. The menu doesn't have that many items (recently expanded), but it's always been diverse enough that everyone in our groups have been happy. There always have daily specials to mix things up a bit. I personally like the salads, especially the Cobb. I think I've had everything with tuna or salmon and never been disappointed. If you want to go a less healthy direction, everything fried is good, especially the onion rings. My wife's favorite is the Roast Chicken Tacos with Lime Crema. If you can't make up your mind on beer, they have flights to you can try several (but let someone else drive). And, yes, they have wine and a full bar too. It's a couple of minutes off 108. If you're headed from Sonora to Twain Harte, it's on you way. Otherwise, it's a little off the beaten track. Either way, it's worth the trip. read more

This was a nice little find near Sonora. They have a good selection of beers without being overwhelming. There's even Bud Light for the more proletarian drinkers. The food selection is good, we had the hush puppies which could be shared by three people. The space is really unique, having been a shipping/receiving location for a mill in its original state. It has been lovingly restored. This is definitely a spot we will return to when visiting friends in nearby Murphys. read more

I have had apps, tacos, pork dumplings, burgers, salads, soup, beer, wine, fries, and more here. Everything has been awesome! The service is great. They never lost track of me even when my group was the only one on the outdoor patio. Taco Tuesday is a great deal! Incredible selection of beers on tap, including my weakness, IPA's. They have some tv's and I almost dropped a star for that, because I think it detracts from a social meal. But they can be avoided, especially on the patio. The Kobe beef burger with blue cheese and pesto, bacon-cheddar hush puppies with maple sour cream, and blue cheese dressing on the fresh salad were all solid choices. Another cool place in Sonora a few miles from downtown but a street away from our hotel. The coworkers and I were able to get a table pretty quickly on a wednesday night. The restaurant is huge because of the very high ceilings. I wonder what the building was used for previously. That day I was able to order a flight, or three 4 oz glasses of beers for a total of $4 when I order an entrée or something. I ordered a moose drool, apricot ale, and breakfast stout. The breakfast tasted exactly like black coffee, which was a little too much for me. For some reason the moose drool tasted a bit watered down, or maybe I like it a lot richer. The stout was probably the best of the 3. The apricot ale was very light and not sweet. I heard the Indigeny apple cider was good but very sweet. I ordered the salmon salad, which was delicious with their special dressing; however the salmon it self was a bit too salty for me. But I know I'm sensitive to salty foods! I go to the standard pour pretty regularly, but tonight's experience was one for the books! Our server Tessa was so helpful and very sweet!! Went in after a long day at work with some friends and we were there a little past closing. She never once made us feel rushed or like we were a burden to her schedule staying a little later so we could finish up our meals. Good quality customer service personnel can be hard to find! Well, we ate here again for lunch and we were definitely satisfied. Our waitress was fantastic!! When she brought out the food and she noticed my son's plate looked too greasy, she had the cooks remake it. She answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable of the menu. The food was very good with some standards that the kids enjoyed and some creative options that my wife and I enjoyed trying. Watch out, some of the dishes are very spicy. Went to dinner there the other night. Haven't been in years but friends invited us and said they had went there not to long ago and were very impressed with the salmon special. I had the salmon special and it was very tasty. Was topped with a like sauce, laid on top of potatoes and sautéed breaded sprouts very good my husband was impressed with his burgers as well. We first went to the standard pour right after they first opened, and I will agree with some here - the prices for beer were too high. Thankfully that problem has been solved, and they have refined their menu quite a bit, so some of the early reviews while fair at the time may not apply now. The prices have come down and it is now very reasonable. I was sad to see a few of the great appetizers go with the changes. Still the food is great,. the standard grilled cheese is awesome, and the Kobe sliders are great. I also love the simple yet tasty goat cheese salad ( my personal favorite). They routinely have very good specials. I have had a few misses. The portobella mushroom sandwich was ho hum, but for the most part I have loved everything in the place, and it is on e of my favorite places to take out of town guests. The staff is friendly and unpretentious. I definitely recommend the Standard pour. Along with The Diamond Back grill, and Tallulahs, it is one of our go to restaurants. read more

OH PLEASE, WHOEVER LIKES THIS PLACE DOESN'T KNOW GOOD A RESTAURANT My boyfriend and I split the grilled chicken sandwich; the chicken was lost in the hard and chewy chibatta bread. My side salad was mixed greens, pre-mixed with watery ranch with two tiny grape tomatos... that's it, nothing else, and it was very expensive. at least give me some vegies on it. I call it chintzing the customer. Overall presentation and content of the food was extremely POOR.( no pun intended ) I will never visit Standard Pour again, even though the service was ok. I wouldn't mind paying those prices if the food lived up to those prices, unfortunately, in this case it is a big miss. I'm a local and I've always enjoyed coming here! The food is awesome and everyone is always very nice! The only problem I have is that my medium-well burger is consistently more like medium-rare and I have to always send it back to be cooked more. This is a quick fix, but also something that gets a little annoying. I've never had this problem at Diamondback (the owners other establishment) and I'm posting this hoping they will read it and maybe the next time I am there this wont be the case. :) read more

I've lived in this area all of my life and when a new restaurant comes around we always try it out. Amazing is how I would describe this one! The food is so good, everything we ordered ( we've been twice ) has been way above my expectations, the Kobe beef burger was delicious and cooked to perfection, their take on a Reuben was delicious and creative, and I love that they support other local businesses by sourcing some of their ingredients from other locals. The prices are what amazed me the most, for the amount and quality of the food you get, you can't find a better deal in this county!
