I love eating here when I lived in Sonora. You have to go early or order on the phone early around three because I think they close their kitchen around four so you have to eat earlier. I suggest eating the Barbacoa fries they are so good!!! Also the tater tots that are loaded OMG, this plays has great food. Also, I suggest getting the BLT. This was our third visit. The food was just plain awful. The fish in sandwich was super fishy, over fried with a weird horseradish sauce. The turkey Ruben was a joke, dry turkey, strange tasting kraut. There was almost no filling in the sandwich, which I guess was a good thing, considering how bad it was. We stayed in Sonora for 5 days and this was our favorite spot and only place we would recommend returning to if going back to Sonora. We were told to go here by a local manager from another restaurant I had a great beet salad with chicken and hubby had a tri tip sandwich. Both were delicious. The beer battered onion rings were so flavorful it tastes like they were cooked in beer! We also ordered the "Pour fries" with pulled pork.... Wow. And of course the berry tart was superb. This one is a hard one because I actually really enjoy the food here, but the service has just gotten so awful. When we came in we asked to sit on the patio and the lady said it's full. I asked her what the wait might be and she said a long time because "they just sat down 20 mins ago", and I said "everyone?". Ok fine, we had a party of 7 so we needed a bigger table to fit us all. She tried to seat us at a small table that wouldn't work, so we asked about another specific table we saw, but she said that one was too big and she wouldn't seat us there (this was like 3:00pm btw so not dinner time yet). So she put us in the back room away from everything. Service took forever, coffee was cold, people were rude. Just overall not a great experience. I'm tired of being treated like dirt everytime we go there. It isn't even worth it anymore. We always leave feeling like crap. They need some serious hospitality help. read more

Our friends have a cabin not far from here. We decided to stop in and get some drinks and eats. The inside is nice and they have a large bar with lots of TVs. We sat in the bar area and ordered 3 appetizers and beers. They unfortunately didn't have any Sours (my favorite) so I settled for a Cider which was what could be expected from a Cider. We ordered the Sesame Pork Potstickers with Honey Ginger Chili Glaze, Steak Quesadilla with Cumin Coriander Spiced Tater Tots with Chipotle Ketchup and the Barbacoa Fries with Cheddar Cheese, Snake Venom and Lime Crema. My favorite were the tater tots with the ketchup. Everything else was mediocre. I think the Snake Venom sauce was supposed to be spicy, but it wasn't and the fries weren't great. I liked the Honey Ginger Chili glaze that the pot stickers were in, but the pot stickers were just the frozen ones you can get at a grocery store. Service was good though and inside is nice and open! We come to this area a couple of times a year so maybe we'll come back and try a burger next time. read more

Went for a birthday dinner. Called and made a reservation. There was never mention of a dessert charge. We arrived and had dinner (which was excellent). We asked the waitress if we could serve cupcakes to everyone. She told us it was fine so we did. Our bill came with a $2 dessert charge for EVERY SINGLE PERSON at dinner. This was never mentioned to us once. We questioned this on our bill and the waitress went to the lead who didn't feel the need to rectify the situation. The waitress then informed us that the owner took our reservation and is "more casual" and doesn't always mention things like that. It's not the money, it's the principle. I'll gladly pay a fee I know I'm going to incur. This was robbery and the lead should have offered to do something to fix this situation. read more

We went for lunch. Dark walls and hole in wall bar vibe. Smelt like eggs or sewer as soon as we walked in and that smell lingered the hole entire meal. The staff was nice. Not too small but not very big portions. I had spicy chicken burger and my bf had lamb burger w salad. Dessert we had cheesecake it is apparently homemade...it was thick and chunky texture and just okay taste. $95 tab. We give the food 6/10. read more

I found eyelashes in my food the ceviche was not made correctly at all. There the Carolina reaper fries had no Carolina reaper in them was not spicy whatsoever and when we asked her to bring us some spicy sauces, the spiciness was not there. She said she wouldn't charge us for the sauces after not even telling us that the sauces were an extra charge. The saying don't judge a book by its cover is reversed there it looks really nice. Burger, one beer, piece of chocolate cake - FORTY BUCKS. The burger was cooked to perfection. BUT!! It came with seriously undercooked and obviously previously frozen fries. This resulted in them being somewhere between fried and boiled. Or, to put it more simply DISGUSTING. Standard Pour is yet another of those small town local establishments that are trying to be Los Angeles in terms of price and vibe, but only succeed at being Pomona in terms of quality. I mean really - fancier joints then this serve up the same fries as McDonalds. But they cook them properly first! So I can live with that as long as they're not soggy and awful when you put them in front of me with a 20 dollar burger. I feel like a lot of local restaurants have the same problem: they don't u set stand that if you're gonna charge big city prices and have big city attitude - YOU NEED TO GET SOME BIG CITY QUALITY GOING!! For the love of god read the instructions on the bag and cook the frozen fries for the recommended time. Is that so very much to ask? If must eat here, get salad as your side. There's no way they can undercook that. read more

After many years, I was brought back here due to a friend wanting to go. The sandwich portions were small, (especially considering the high price tag), and the ranch dressing was bad. I asked the waitress if she had brought me ranch dressing, and she said yes it was ranch, but that it was their version of it. It was sour, and too watery. Yuck I won't be going back. read more

A beautiful historic building. Always a great place to eat. I had the salmon, it was amazing!!!! Grilled cheese sandwich, BLT and MahiMahi tacos were had by family and they all loved their food too!!!! I stopped by the Standard Pour for some lunch before my sons basketball game. I got the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. The food was excellent. The pulled pork was not your traditional pulled pork smothered in bbq. It had a honey pepper glaze instead definitely worth it. For my side I got the sweet potato fries with a side of mustard. Yes I'm strange in that regard. With mustard it makes the fries taste like a corn dog. To top it off they make their own sauces and I got the hot mustard. Let me tell you my friend, you can definitely fill the heat! I think the building was the old city hall building I tried to ask but the bartender I guess had better things to do. If you have read my post before you know I don't give 5 stars and on this occasion the service is why they got 3 stars. I visited on a Thursday night with three people, and the restaurant was nearly empty during dinner service. There were two parties of about seven people who arrived before us, according to one of the three waitresses we barely saw throughout the meal. We waited over an hour for two burgers and a slider, which turned out to be disappointing. The fries even had old Brussels sprout leaves mixed in, which was unpleasant. As someone who also works in a restaurant, I wouldn't recommend dining here. It was a terrible experience overall. read more

Standard Pour has become a tradition for us. It's where we go when we're with family. It's where we go when we're friends. It's where we go when we want to celebrate. It's a special place that we enjoy sharing with others. We've always been a big fan of the space, the food, and the staff. The Standard Pour has been closed as of late - due to the current pandemic - but I was excited to learn that they are now re-open for take-out. They've set-up a online ordering site that allows both Pick Up and Curbside options. With their new set-up they will be open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 3-7 for take out. They've consolidated their menu to some of the favorites available on Thursday and Saturday and on Tuesdays they are even offering a wonderful family style Taco Kit. Their current take-out menu features their amazing fried brussels sprouts, their cumin coriander spiced tots, their mahi-mahi tacos, their fantastic burger, their BLT sandwich, their southwest chicken sandwich and more. It's not as extensive as their normal offerings - but I'm just glad to hear that they're open and serving the community (which they've always excelled at). If you're in the area on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday from 3-7 doing grocery shopping and such - definitely swing on by Standard Pour and help support them. Trust. read more

How do you screw up tater tots ? I ordered the tri tip sandwich (which was good) I chose garlic fries as my side which were awful shoe string fries, all short in length with a table spoon of garlic under the fries- and came out cold. Wife ordered fish tacos (also good) but her tots were burnt. Hard exterior, empty on the inside, and cold. A McD's hash brown tastes better than these tots. Beer was good, server tried. They did the least they could've done which was not charge us for the fries or tots. Cookies at counter were good. Still, $52 for 2 beers, fish tacos and tri tip sandwich- no thanks. read more

Not worth it in my opinion. I'm in town for a couple weeks and tonights my first night in town looking for a good dinner spot for while I'm here. I asked my waitress about the steak and didn't get a very enthusiastic response on it. So I asked what do the locals order and she told me the Cubano is very popular. I'll admit the sandwich was decent enough, nothing special, but my fries were soggy and the ranch I ordered on the side was practically water. Now I like a good homemade thin ranch, but this was seriously water. I asked my waitress and she said it actually isn't ranch, just a parsley buttermilk dressing, no mayonnaise in it at all. Feel kinda lied to since I asked for ranch. All in all not worth the $30 spent, sandwich/fries and a beer. I'll be looking for a different spot tomorrow night after work. read more

Six of us decided to celebrate Grandma's birthday at the Standard pour. The food came out quickly after we ordered. The turkey Ruben sandwich was good, Though not worthy of being called a Ruben.. The specials we had were tasty. They brought out a mini sundae for Grandma. The ice cream was delicious. I had to have my own: four scoops chocolate and raspberry sauce. The carrot cake was huge. So first this place is super good, we were in the area looked up places to eat and we found this place! Ended up getting the standard burger and the cheeseburger with fries. Which was made very well and a good portion of food was served! Drinks were good as well, service was good and friendly too. The only reason I decided to give this place a 4 star is cause in my opinion the ranch; super watery, the consistency of it kinda grossed me out. I did see other people eating it soo maybe it's just how they make it, not what I'm use to. Or maybe it was just a bad day for the ranch batch. Friendly, attentive service. An extensive selection of craft beers, alas 90% are Pale Ale, IPA, Hazy IPA or Double IPA. Great for me as I enjoy all of those styles, not so much for those who prefer pilsner or lager. The building was a lumber company office in the beginning.
