I really tried to give this boutique hotel a chance. I travel a lot for work and genuinely love exploring new places and smaller boutique hotels, but right off the bat, the owner had an attitude, and I'm really not sure why. We got into Palm Springs earlier than expected, so I called the hotel to see if there was any possibility of checking in early. She let me know checkout was at 11 AM, and I simply asked if anyone happened to check out earlier than 11 and our room was ready, would we be able to check in early? She mentioned there was an hourly early check-in fee, which I was completely okay with since it is a small business. I don't think she was grasping the concept that sometimes people leave hotels before the exact checkout time. Flights, travel plans, early starts to the day, etc. As someone who travels a lot for work, I've stayed at many hotels where if the room is available and ready, they'll let you check in early, sometimes even free of charge. But I understand this is a business, so the fee wasn't even my issue. Since we were already en route to Palm Springs, I moved on to my next question. If we were in the process of checking in and left our bags at the hotel, would we be able to use the amenities, aka the pool? Apparently, this was the most out-of-this-world question she had ever been asked. I explained that most places I've stayed will let guests who are waiting for their room use the pool, gym, or other amenities while their room is being prepared. She seemed completely baffled that I would even ask and responded with the rudest tone of voice. I completely understand that every hotel has different policies. It was the attitude and the way she spoke to me over two pretty normal questions that really threw me off. If you're running a hotel in a destination like Palm Springs, where people are constantly traveling in from different places and arriving at different times, maybe having a better system for early arrivals would be helpful, especially during a holiday weekend. Imagine flying in early and basically being told no, no, and no with an attitude on top of it. I think managing 8 or 9 rooms might be a little too much for this owner to handle, and maybe a lesson or two in customer service wouldn't hurt. Just wanted to leave my two cents. This place is so fun. Our group of about 20 people rented whole motel. There are vintage items all over the place that you can purchase but there is no pressure to do so. So many of us buy items though because it is all just so fun.... I'm not sure how one can resist. The kitchen area is so clean and ready to use. The common areas including a living room off the kitchen and the pool deck are carefully curated to invite you into a classic 1960s Palm Springs experience. The rooms are clean, bed comfy and cozy, bathroom and shower are meticulously cleaned and all the fixtures are new. Everything is thematically decorated. I've never stayed here apart from the group but I really look forward to this annual retreat with friends because of this place. Book it! read more

Stardust Hotel ROCKS! My partner and I went down for a long weekend and wanted a spot with fun campy mid-century modern flair and fell head over heels for Stardust. It's in a fairly quiet corner of a residential neighborhood but still on the main strip and close to basically everything. Love its size and how cozy it felt, as well as all the common areas and amenities (lounge with full kitchen, snacks, drinks, and a killer pool deck). Our room was lovely and had all the touches we wanted from our ideal Palm Springs hotel. Also loved the fun addition of the vintage collection in the back. Ran into Jessica on the pool deck one afternoon and she was absolutely lovely. We are already trying to plan our next trip down! It's amazing! read more

this hotel was AMAZING. My boyfriend and I stayed two nights and loved EVERYTHING about the experience. Jessica was SO incredibly welcoming and kind, and the atmosphere was just super friendly and easygoing. The hotel itself was small and it felt so intimate in such a cozy way! The rooms are lined up right beside the pool so we had direct access to the pool at any given time (which was clean, provided hats, pool floaties, and chairs, and was completely empty the times we went out to tan and swim!) Check in and checkout was incredibly easy and quick as well! The room itself was spacious and SUPER CLEAN! They provided free water, a coffee machine with pods, a hair dryer, and almost any other thing you can think of that you might need! We were even impressed and excited to see that the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner provided were from the brand Native. Other features we loved were the lounge/free to use kitchen that had a filtered water spigot and free drinks in the fridge. We truly loved staying here and have talked about coming back in the following years to this hotel as our annual summer trip! I am still pinching myself that I found this gem in the desert. It's everything I wanted. The owners are beyond compare. While I was there fresh cookies were made in their beautiful fully stocked kitchen available for use by everyone 24/7. There is not one single thing I didn't like but there are too many great things to mention. It's super clean with a friendly staff and owner, and it's in a terrific location. It's also within walking to distance to an affordable car rental company, Aztec Rent-a-Car. Not only is the decor a standout feature - eclectic, retro, quirky, and extremely well thought-out, but there is also great attention to detail throughout. Honestly, the owners have thought of everything- from super comfy bedding and pillows, great in-room lighting, a super hot rain shower, available extra towels, on-tap coffee, a central lounge with snacks, drinks (including beers and cocktails), a stove and cooking utensils, and even an on-site vintage store. I was actually asked once in a focus group what constituted my ideal hotel and I struggled to convey that it would need to have an authentic vibe, to reflect the culture of the location, to be well designed, and to have its own originality and identity (I hate cookie cutter places!). If I'd have known, I would have just sent them here - because it's all that and a side of fries. Just book it! read more

Recently I had the most amazing stay at the Stardust Hotel in Palm Springs, and I'm obsessed! Always searching for a good vibe, this place was like a dreamy little escape. It's this adorable boutique hotel with that retro 50s-60s charm with vintage decor, and a pool that's basically begging for a selfie sesh. Every room looks out over the pool, and with those gorg San Jacinto Mountains in the background, it's like living in a postcard! The room was super spacious and bright, with a bed so comfy our stay literally felt like a dream. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, check-in was a breeze, It's tucked away in this quiet little spot, but still so close to downtown Palm Springs and yummy restaurants like Miro's (literally a hop away!) I felt like I had my own private oasis. For the price? Total steal. Considering all of the boutique hotels in Palm Springs are overrated and overpriced with mediocre hospitality and service. The lounge area is to die for and I love that they have beverages for you to enjoy at anytime. This place is beautiful! This is the perfect retro modern desert sexy boutique hotel. The rooms are absolutely breathtaking, down to the tile and the wallpaper and the antique dresses hanging in the closet. So much thought was clearly put into every detail here. There is a big shared kitchen/living area which was a plus-- we could go in and get filtered water and ice and make coffee or cocktails or breakfast and hang out in the a/c. We usually stay further north when we come to Palm Springs, but this location turned out to be really nice-- walking distance to a tiki bar, amazing ice cream, and some favorite restaurants. My wife and I rang in the 2026 New Year at The Stardust with a period correct, super fun, clean, bright two days. The common area reminded us of when we we're little, and the rooms KING SIZE BED was fantastic. Jessica provided decadent OG Doughnuts along with Keurig coffee every morning.
