Well, I almost hesitate to break my recent mold and write something great, especially in this case (I don't want my new favorite place to get TOO crowded), but figuring these guys deserve the business if anyone does, here is my rave review. FINALLY! I found the RIGHT coffee shop (for me, anyway). Being originally from the midwest, and newer to Seattle, my ongoing gripe with this place is the bad attitudes and snobbery that abounds here, along with the anti-socialness and everything that goes with that. This place is even better than my favorite places in Chicago. Chicago is a big crazy city, and while you can find much more genuine, down to earth, fun people there, you don't get too much friendliness except in select places from the staff behind the counter (although I did make friends with a hair stylist once in the 40 minutes I was in her chair). Anyway, point being, I was SO happy with the service I got here, and could tell as soon as the girl working started talking to me I had found a more down to earth place. The products are great for me, but what I really like, and the reason I will go way out of my way to come back and start frequenting this place, is that the barista was GENUINELY friendly and cool. Not some pretentious loser pretending to be cool, just a great girl and it was such a pleasure to hand my money to these people, knowing I'm supporting some of the better people in this town. 5 stars off the bat - really, I don't think I'll keep looking at this point for the best cafe in Seattle - this is it for me. read more

I go a little out of my way to work to stop by this coffee shop. The coffee drinks are delicious and their pastries can satisfy any taste but the best part about this place is the amazing people they have working there. They are skilled, knowledgable, and very friendly. read more

As a Beacon Hill native this review may sound biased but, it is the solid truth. I made it my summer goal to find hot spots around Seattle for my out of state college classmates (I will be attending SPU this fall). I've searched for cafes all around (ranging from Ballard to Capital Hill) but I was surprise to discover that the best place in town was in my own neighborhood. From the second you walk into The Station you feel a sense of welcome and warmth. Unlike many uppity cafes The Station is a very hip and urban place (which of course we teenagers love). Many Beacon Hill locals drop by, so you know it's a crowd favorite. You can tell The Station employees love what their doing, and it shows through their drinks! I've been to The Station about 5 times and 4 of those visits I ordered the "Mocha Mexicano". I expected the generic mocha coffee taste but was shocked at the smooth consistency for the drink. I was also surprised that the chocolate in the mocha wasn't too overwhelming (not too sweet). The only other drink I ordered was an Americano and even that was great (not too bitter)! Overall The Station is a must if your around the area. This place will be a Seattle staple soon. Hands down. PS: I hear they have some great pastries and tamales! read more

I go there in the morning to get iced coffee and they are almost always out of ice. I like the staff and think that it is a cute spot, but now that the warm weather is coming, I hope that they work on the ice issue. read more

Mexican Mocha which everyone was raving about was REALLY really good. Very tasty! I had the horchada latte which was good as well. I enjoyed the butter biscuit as well. The service is great, prices are decent and the coffee is YUMMY! Great location near the light rail too! read more

Happened upon this wonderful place when needing a spot to do some work and wait for my train to the airport. Just the kind of place i've been looking for my whole trip, a place that I feel very good about giving my money to and feel supported by just by walking in the door. A convenient stop for anyone and and a great asset to the community it directly serves and the larger community we are all a part of. If you want to support P.O.C. owned business, which is important everywhere but feels extra urgent in areas like Seattle. On top of all that everything is Delicious and fair. I had two great cups of coffee and an El Centro sandwich, all perfect and served with love and care. Really enjoy watching the different meetings and conversations and quick stops from all sorts of kinds of people, the art is amazing, the place itself is clean and homey, i could go on and on...just a very warm and welcoming spot. read more

I am obsessed with their sweet potato squares! It's a must to try when you stop by for your daily cup of coffee. I always pair mine with my usual caramel latte, which is always perfect - never too sweet nor bitter, just the way coffee is suppose to be. I love the ambiance and how community oriented it feels. Love this place!! Cash only, good coffee and pastries! Family run little spot, and really feels like part of the neighborhood. There's sports on tv without it being a bro-y place. Get there early if you want a table inside though, there's limited space. In the summer there's lots of outdoor seating. If you want a full meal there are delicious taco trucks and also a Red Apple across the street. It's also right next to the light rail if you need to grab something en route to the airport or downtown. read more

I LOVE the station. Good coffee, great people, fun atmosphere. Sometimes I come and hang out with a book or do some work on my computer. Sometimes I just chat with the other patrons. Sometimes my 2 year old comes with me and snacks and crackers and pets the dogs that are hanging out. I've gotten to know tons of my neighbors here. The best is sitting outside in the warm summer time. It's located just across the road from the play park at El Centro (though the park is currently closed for construction) so it is a great place to get coffee for the grown ups then go play across the street with your little people. After reading reviews and visiting The Station several times I decided to write my own review. I've tried several drinks: cafe latte, mocha, and Mexican mocha, all of which were good. I especially liked the Mexican mocha, hot is better than iced as it's difficult to fully melt the chocolate when iced. Some reviews stated "cash only", which I prepared for but have also paid with plastic, that may be a recent development? Overall, enjoyable space, drinks and staff. read more

Don't bother coming here if you actually enjoy using your tastebuds. I'm simply amazed they're still in business. I'm visiting from Los Angeles and boy-oh-boy do I regret coming here. I ordered a Caramel Latte (similar to Starbucks) and it was utterly disgusting. I ordered Soy and they put WHOLE MILK!!!! I'm lactose intolerant. Steer clear of this nightmare. read more

Not only do they make amazing coffee drinks here, but you get neighborhood flavor. Its always upbeat and full of super interesting people of all ages talking about everything. Most of the guests are regulars and there is always lively chatter between the Baristas and customers. The owner is also around a lot, talking with customers and making coffee. I never leave without a smile on my face, whether it be from a comment/conversation being shouted across the little room or from the delicious latte. The Station is a special place. It's a mainstay of the neighborhood and I'm so lucky I live nearby! You can hang out in the patio if it's nice out, or inside if there's a seat (it's a popular place). They have coffee, tea, bottles of beer (maybe just one or two options-- Corona for the nice sunny days on the patio), and snacks. This is probably my favorite coffee shop in Seattle. I just started working in the neighborhood, and I was so happy to learn that this place was just around the corner - my housemate has mentioned it multiple times for it's chill vibe and friendly staff and regulars. Did not disappoint! My girlfriend and I split a Mexican mocha...holy hell it's good. The Station has become my new favorite coffee spot! Bored with Starbucks I launched an independent coffee crawl and stumbled upon the station. The lattes are amazing!!! The barista is oh so sweet and never disappoints. The atmosphere at the station is energetic and friendly. The highlight of this coffee gem is the owner! Wow, I don't know what it is, but coffee from this place is always fresh, and has a beautiful rich taste. I typically don't take coffee black, but here I usually make an exception. I'm not sure if it is their brewing process or not, but you can definitely notice the oils in the beans, and that just adds to the overall enjoyment. read more

Very child friendly (both the human and the dog type haha), two outdoor areas to relax and enjoy the delicious coffee. The front usually has a couple chairs where you can sit and people-watch or just soak up the sun. The back is a porch, L-shaped, with outlets so if it's not raining it's a really nice place to do some work on my laptop. There's a bathroom, NO KEY OR CODE, which makes me so happy. The last thing you want to do when you gotta go is wade your way through a line of people trying to get their caffeine fix to ask for a bathroom key. :) The Mexican Mocha is really good if you like chocolate, and they have plenty of milk alternatives which is super great for someone with a dairy allergy!! Last but not least, THIS IS A COMMUNITY CENTERED SPACE! Seattle needs more places like this! Love this POC and locally owned (I believe!) coffee house! It's a great community environment; lots of different kinds of people coming in and out. Carlos, behind the bar, and the manager at the time (can't remember their name!), made an excellent latte. For work/studying environment, the music can sometimes be a bit loud, but I just use headphones. read more

I live in the area and after two disappointing visits, I now choose to pass up this shop for another in the area. The coffee & food are ok but I felt extremely unwelcome when I came to this shop. When I arrived for what would be my last visit to this shop, the baristas were in the middle of a conversation and didn't bother to let me interrupt them. They continued on as if I wasn't standing right in front of them, desperately trying to make eye contact. After waiting a minute I finally asked if I could order. Their attitude was as if I was an annoying inconvenience. I can't rationalize spending my money to be treated like this. read more

Finally, a coffee shop that isn't all white people on their laptops not talking to each other. This place feels like a true community - chill, warm, real. Diverse, friendly staff and patrons.
