This is the saddest burger I've ever eaten. The menu showed options for a regular burger, a burger with pastrami, a burger with bacon and avocado, etc. And I heard people ordering the option with bacon and avocado. So I wanted a burger with JUST bacon. "We can't do that" Why not? "We can't put bacon on the burger" What the actual . . . So I ordered a regular burger with fries. The patty is half the size of the bun. It's dry while being grossly wet. It's incredibly bland and the meat is grey from steaming. The burgers were very good. I'm from Connecticut, home of the original steamed cheeseburger (Ted's) so familiar with the taste. Some people hate them, others love them. Ate them all the time back east so glad there's someone who makes them here. read more

We were excited to have them for a college event. The burgers posted online looked fantastic. Excitement to try this food, stopped the minute I walked to the truck. The guy who was working the counter and taking the orders was not friendly at all. Even though they were hired, he seemed really annoyed to be there. Anyway, I got my meal and noticed the buns were huge (making up most of the burger). the burger as a whole was flavorless, even though there was mustard and raw onions. I had some ketchup and used it to add flavor to the cheeseburger. Not only that, but the "patty" was more like a scoop of ground beef between two huge buns. See photos. This is the best burger I have had in a long, long time. Really exceeded my expectations. I love the jalapeño stuffed patty. It's more flavor than heat, which I appreciated, so if you are concerned about it being too hot, I say go for it because it's actually mild. I ordered The Steamin' Burger, which comes with cheddar cheese, onions and mustard on a fresh brioche bun. I did not make any modifications and it was perfect. I'm really glad I tried it like it comes. I normally wouldn't put mustard on my burger but it paired so well with the other flavors. I loved it. I've never had a steamed burger before and now it's the only way I want it. It was less greasy but even more juicy. The bun was buttery and fresh. I also had a side of the delicious street style fries, which are crispy curly fries topped with ranch, ketchup, cotija cheese and cilantro. It's a very generous portion and can easily be shared for 2 people. They have turkey, chicken and vegetarian options too. The people in the truck are so nice. Excellent service. Stopped by Strand to get some beer and saw this truck parked outside. Decided to stay for a burger and beer and so glad I did! Got The Steamin Burger and added Bacon. First thing I noticed was the smothered melted cheddar everywhere. Next I cut into it and noticed the sliced jalapenos in the patty. Bun was also fresh, soft, and slightly toasted. Flavor was amazing! Love that jalapeno patty flavor. Good amount of kick without being overpowered. In my book, if the meat and bun standout, then the rest of the toppings should just be icing on the cake without taking away from the meat flavor, and the cheddar and bacon did just that... compliment that awesome patty! We waited in line for at least 20 minutes. When I was called to pick up the order, it was wrong. Mistakes happen, but being told, "You should have known the order was wrong by the price you paid." is very poor customer service, rude, and condescending. He then motioned me to the back of the line to place my order (again). I had to ask if he would take my order so I didn't have to wait (again). He could just as easily have said something like, "Sorry for the mixup. Would you like to purchase another burger?" By the way, it was more than $37.00 for two basic burgers and one side of fries, no lettuce, no tomato, no drinks. The attitude shown in his reply to "Princess Priscilla" is exactly what I experienced, and it's definitely NoT worth the wait. Skip it. read more

City of Commerce 4th of July celebration was a hit with the variety of food trucks. The steaming burger caught my eye because it was the only truck that had the healthy word "steam" In front of the famous traditional American "burger". I felt the need to check it out. $10 for a steamed patty that tasted like a grilled patty- DELICIOUS tucked in behind some crunchy onions, melted cheese, and mustard, squished between a sweet and squishy brioche bun! I enjoyed it: not salty or greasy. I did knock it one star for the fact of lack of veggies. I wanted pickles, tomatoes, greens.. overall my children, who by the way, would normally remove those veggies, really liked the burger. My 3 star review is for their basic burger. I should have gotten the Homerun champion because my husband loved his. The burger was juicy but it was just meat, cheese, mustard and onion. It was so plain! No lettuce? Pickles? Tomato? I don't know. I was also overwhelmed with the cheese. It was way too much. And the buns were super soggy. Not worth the steep price. Love food trucks! Luckily the steamin burger was in the neighborhood. We ordered the homerun king burger (for me) World Series champ burger (for the BF), wings and fries, and the street style fries. It was the first time we tried a "steamed" burger and apparently it's obviously healthier and it's not so greasy! Their 1/3 patty is jalapeño stuffed, but it's very mild (so if you're worrying about it being to spicy, it's not)! Homerun king burger is topped with melting cheddar cheese, mustard, onions, avocado, and bacon. Of course, I naturally had to add a fried egg on top. Mannnn, it was jammed packed with FLAVOR! It's like you could taste every single layer of the burger. I wasn't too greasy and surprisingly wasn't as messy with the fried egg. This would definitely be my go to burger. World Series Champ is basically like the homerun king but instead of bacon it has PASTRAMI. Who doesn't love pastrami?! This one is a must try if you're getting multiple burgers or just one!!! Street style fries are enough to share for two. It's regular fries topped with ketchup, ranch, cotija cheese, and cilantro. I think I'm a fan now of ketchup and ranch together. Never had fries like this before, I'd definitely eat it again! Wings are Buffalo flavored. I knocked off one star only because I wish the wings were a little bit more saucy - it was kind of dry. Don't get me wrong, it's still really good!!! Wings come with fries and a side of ranch. Overall, I think we paid around $40-$45. The guys working the truck were friendly. My wife ordered the "King" and said it was the best burger she's had in a long time. The details? a generous amount of cheese, RAW jalapeños (never have I seen this- usually there are only salty pickled ones) and an excellent brioche bun. Top notch. VERY FAST service, and this was at a crowded festival! Lastly, it was a nice price point. No gouging going on here. We will seek this truck out and find it again for sure. read more

We were hungry after viewing the floats & decided to give the Steamin' Burger a try. I clearly heard my friend order the stuffed jalpeno burger no onions & 2 regular burgers with a side of fries. No receipt was given & the order was not read back to us. After a 20 minute wait only 2 burgers were ready for us & no stuffed jalapeno burger. My friend mentioned we were missing that burger and the person who gave us the 2 burgers did not apologize, but instead was sarcastic, unfriendly, & gruff with her. It was embarrassing & unnecessary. She did not deserve to be treated that way. It would have been so easy to simply say sorry and fix another burger. Was the burger great? After all that, it was just ok & when the other burger was ready, there were lots of onions on it & it was not stuffed. In the future the owner might consider producing a receipt to avoid misunderstandings from the get go and be more professional. Last time I will ever patronize the Steamin' Burger. read more

Extremely rude customer service. I waited in a very long line and when I got to the window I wanted to ask if I would be able to combine or upgrade some food options. I was willing to pay more or the cost difference. Considering their price for a basic burger and fries, I didn't see the harm in asking. Well the guy at the register decided to laugh at me when I asked. As if this would be something unthinkable? He was very rude when he let me know the items were not combinable. So weird to treat a customer who's been waiting a good 20 minutes in the heat to order their food. I immediately decided not to spend my money here.
