I thought this was a nice, intimate little Italian restaurant. We stopped in about 5:00 on a Friday, I would recommend reservations if you come any later. Our waiter was very helpful, my husband started feeling ill right after we got there, so he was kind enough to prepare our food to go. I ordered the Alfredo sauce with Angel hair pasta and a meatball. Both were really delicious. My husband ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich, which he did enjoy, once he was feeling better! By the way, another reviewer said the ice tea was $3.95, and it's not. It was really $2.95, which is average for local restaurants. Celebrated my 50th anniversary dinner last October. Egg plant parmesan was fantastic and huge. My daughter had arranged the dinner and when we walked in, we greeted with a lovely Bouquet of flowers, so sweet. Favorite place for lunch when we come from Mccall to visit Boise. Today we shared a meatball sandwich. The tomato sauce was the quality sauce you get in south philly eatery. The tomato soup was more than tomatoe, the cream and spices made it very enjoyable. Been there many times and not been disappointed. The size of the place is also part of the joy. It is not a cafeteria size restaurant but has the feel in are in a cafe in south philly or soho. Not pretentious. I place you could be your second home. We ate there last night, Oct 17, 2019 and our server was one of the best we've ever had. We were 5 people with(stupidly) no reservation and yet she managed to squeeze us in. I read John W's review and wonder just what he was expecting. Yes there was a bit of red onion in the scampi that was quite complimentary in flavor! I was there for lunch and my scampi was the best I've had in the Treasure Valley and it even included a side of pasta! Look at the size of those shrimp! (Photo was taken after we began eating so presentation wasn't the best.) Since the bread is intended for sopping up sauce, it is not a garlic bread or bread and butter type bread, it was a bit hard as it should be. Both my meal and the service were amazing! read more

Almost got 5 stars but we also almost walked out. There were two of us and the hostess/possible owner wanted to seat us at a two top in a separate dark place next to the bathroom. When I asked to be seated in the main dining area her response was disappointing and something to the affect "We're saving those seats for larger parties but it's okay since we're not that busy". I felt like we were not important enough to sit where we wanted. It kinda seemed like she was talking to the other staff about us being picky or something. That said, the rest of the experience was almost perfect maybe other than the bread they give you. Seemed real plain and possibly pre-frozen but was no different than cheap white bread with no flavor or distinction. A good crusty artisan bread would've been a better choice. Our server seemed like she might have been new but was real sweet and very attentive and did a great job. My wife had the walnut crusted salmon which she was very pleased with and I had the portobello tri-tip which might have been the best I've ever had. I asked for medium rare and it was closer to medium which didn't diminish the tenderness or taste at all. Tri-tip can tend to be a little chewy or tough but this was very good, tender, juicy, and not chewy at all and I am very picky. Overall we were very pleased and can overlook the first impression and look forward to going back and trying them for lunch. read more

The staffing was a bit low but they did a great job. The gentleman server helped an elderly couple get into the restaurant from their car (that was awesome). The young lady who took my order was very nice snd helpful. The order took a little long and I was a little disappointed that my prime rib sandwich did not come with such jus, but I guess I should have asked. The sandwich came with a bowl of soup snd bread with oil and balsamic vinegar to dip the bread in. Over all great! If you like a bit more horseradish? My 9yr old Niece and I just happened by this place after dropping a package at the UPS Store. Wow... what a find! Our well informed and friendly server Lexy recommended the chicken sandwich and roasted tomato soup. Talk about incredible! We were really looking forward to dinner here after hearing rave reviews, but were disappointed. As a previous reviewer mentioned, bread was "ho hum." Alfredo sauce was bland and our pasta was clumped together and sticky. Steak and Eggplant Carciofini were fine and portions were really good. Maybe something went wrong, but our cheesecake was grainy and difficult to even finish. The highlight of the evening was the Portabello Formaggio, which was was phenomenal. They give you quite a bit of food for your money, so it's a good value. The staff were just lovely! And it sounds like there must be some dishes that are amazing, but we only found one. Probably good for lunch or dinner with friends, but not very romantic if you're on a date. Sad to say I won't drive across town to go there again. read more

Went here here with a total of four people. Made reservations on a Saturday night. We were very happy with the service, food, and ambiance. If you are wanting a fast dinner, I would probably suggest doing takeout or going somewhere else. We enjoyed a bottle of good by reasonably priced wine, two appetizers, 4 entrees, and with tip it cost about 30 dollar per person. It is a small place and they were busy during the peak dinning hours but had open tables after about 8pm. I would certainly go here again with friends as long as they don't have kids. I would say the atmosphere is a little more on the intimate side than I would want to bring kids too. read more

Excellent food & service in a lovely quiet environment. My husband ordered steak and the waitress told him it would take a little extra time because they cook their steaks from raw. It did take a while but we didn't think it was bad. When they brought the steak to him the manager said that there would be a desert on the house because they felt it took too long. I have to start by saying WOW. We walked in and saw a hand full of tables and I got a little scared. Then we stood for a few minutes and no one came out from the back. However that is where my negativity ends. The gal came out and from moment one she was kind, attentive and gave great suggestions. Our food was AMAZING!! My husband had eggplant parm and my daughter had chicken parm- both loved their meals. I got a Chicken "something" I cant remember but Oh My goodness it was so good. It had cheese, prosciutto, sauce, garlic and the side of angel hair with meat sauce was the perfect combination. Then we told the waitress it was our daughters bday and she brought out a Complimentary Ice Cream with whip and a cherry SO SWEET. But be warned--if you don't like your pasta al dente, don't get this! I'll probably go back only because it's close and I think it probably deserves another chance. I ordered a smoked turkey and prosciutto croissant topped with thin slices of pear....I ordered it mainly because it sounded so unusual. It was stellar. It was served with a choice of salads or soup. This is definitely a small restaurant. I am very thankful when I went, that it was not crowded. Cute little place and the waitress was very sweet. I went with a group of 4 people. My friend ordered the meatball sandwich and I ordered the Chicken Portobello sandwich and we decided to split it. The chicken portobello sandwich was average as well as the meatball sandwich. The meatballs were over bread crumbed. The sandwiches come with a side and we all got the Fire Roasted Tomato soup and it was really good. All in all the meal was average. Onto desert. The Tiramisu was good and I got Spumoni ice cream. It was an excellent value for the Spumoni. I got a big glass that had been pre-frozen and a cold spoon and the ice cream was more than a person could handle. I can't believe I said that. I am Italian and cook a lot of this stuff at home so I am not sure I will be heading back unless someone wanted to go there. I would definitely try it out as they have many more menu items than sandwiches and I don't want to discourage you. Overall, I had an average visit and have nothing bad to say about the place. Great little restaurant tucked a little off to the side of Albertsons in Eagle. I would recommend reservations if you plan on going during a busy period as the dining room is pretty small and tables fill up quickly. You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. The Calamari is quite different than you might expect and I highly recommend if you are a fan of the squids. read more
