Wow! Didn't know what to expect. Sandwiches are eminently satisfying. Had a "small" Italian sub, partner had the Rodeo. Fresh, well-made. Friendly, helpful staff, too. Second time we've been to this sub restaurant. It's been local for years, but their new location made it more convenient, and easy to remember. That being said, they have to make one of the BEST subs around, if not THE best. Very generous with their contents, making the meat the primary ingredient with the cheese and veggies being the tasty additions, as opposed to the other way around. Very high quality meats are used here. First time visit was a carry out for a tailgate party, and they did not disappoint! The second time we were there was a dine in. The restaurant was exceptionally clean, organized and tidy. Serve yourself drinks if you order them. We had short (worth the wait!) wait for our food to be called up. Presentation of the sandwich was nice, nothing fancy, but not just "plopped" into the basket. The ladies working today couldn't have been more pleasant and professional. We couldn't finish our sandwich ( we bought medium sized), so when I asked for a box or foils to take home the leftovers, the lady at the counter took our sandwiches and wrapped them to go for us. Had a hankering for a cheesesteak, so I made a return trip to this place. The counter person must have mistook what I said because what I got wasn't a cheesesteak but rather a different kind of beef sandwich of some sort. It came with a container of au jus and was pretty juicy on its own. It was actually very tasty and I ate it rather than taking it back. I guess I'll have to come back for the cheesesteak, but what I did get was really pretty good. read more

The subs were huge and delicious! Hubby had the #1 Italian and I had #12 Turkey, avocado, Swiss cheese. We couldn't finish either sandwich so we brought home dinner too! This place deserves its five stars. It's a simple Sandwich shop slinging out some THE most meat packed subs I've ever seen. It's actually overwhelming, I personally like my subs less meat more lettuce (I'm a veggie type of person). So we tried this place yesterday. Wow is all I can say. I absolutely love a roast beef sandwich on a sour dough roll. And this place killed it. Bread was warm. Not overly condimented ie the mustard and mayo was not all sloppy. Was able to get pepper jack. Lettuce tomato onion and Jalapeno. Sounds pretty simple right? Nothing exquisite about my sandwich order. But the taste was the best sandwich I have had in my 51 years here. I tip my hat to you sub slingers. My lady had the Italian a small and could not finish it. She raved the same. The bread was amazing. The meats were excellent and the veggies fresh. So thank you. WTF!! This place is bomb! Best sandwich spot in the East Valley? This is what makes Yelp so great. I would not have found this place if I wasn't using Yelp. Yelp helps the world find lil places like this that are doing everything right. I got the Subslinger with added bacon. Sandwiches are HUGE with loads of meat. More meat than those chains have with "double meat". Look at my pic of the cross section of my sandwich and see how much fresh shaved turkey they packed into it. A medium is really a stuffed full footlong I finished one half and took the other with me. Two people could easily split a medium and the large is like 2 feet long....like a party sub. Quality fresh ingredients. They make their bread in store and mine was still warm and not too much bread. Just the right consistency. Doesn't look like much from the outside....true hole-in-the-wall. Inside is quaint with lots of character. Staff was great too.....two ladies who are friendly and clearly take pride in their work. This is my new go to sub spot. read more

As always top notch deli meats and quality produce on the subs. I never go anywhere else for a sub sandwich. Small operation with unbelievable atttention to detail. For example, I asked for salt and pepper only on the tomato, and that's exactly what they did !! Wait time is minimal and always friendly service. I identified I'd never been there before; she proceeded to overview the menu while explaining how their bread is parcooked and finished at time of order to provide optimal freshness. We were at the Rio Salada Shooting Range with some friends. On our way out, one of the guys did a search online and noticed this place. It's a small, comfortable, sub shop. The owner was working behind the counter, he was super helpful when he realized it was our first visit. Everyone ordered their subs and I ordered a salad. The meat was fresh and tasty. I hear the bread was fresh and yummy, too. Small, friendly, comfortable, and yummy. You can't ask for anything more than that! read more

First time here and definitely not my last, I got the mega as a medium and am still trying to finish it off. Roast beef is perfect, nice and pink, juicy and seasoned. I love the fresh soft bread with a perfect bite, not too hard to bite through but still not soggy even after sitting a while. They don't skimp on meats here and actually put enough cheese on the sandwich to be able to taste it (not paper thin provolone). You can build your own sandwich, which I may try next time. Only disappointment was that there was no pickle included although they do sell boars head ones for $2. Also if I'm being honest the sandwich could have been built a little better maybe if it were more packed into the bread because the onions were falling off. That being said, I'd still give this place a solid 9/10 based on my first visit. I'm glad I discovered this place, go check them out, I will be back for sure. read more

I was excited to come here because of the reviews but when I arrived it was very slow. I was in the shop for about 20-25 min for my sandwich. Not only that but I asked for it toasted. It looks like a business straight from the 1960s, just because of the old school menu board and the building the shop operates in seems quite outdated. That said, the food was pretty good. The only thing was that the menu board with 26 sandwiches had no prices. It turns out that a turkey and cheese 6 inch hero was $8.29. Add a drink and it was about 10 bucks for lunch. The turkey was good quality and I got it with the oil and vinegar treatment. The thing that made the sandwich stand out was the hot sourdough bread and the ingredients were cold. Usually, it is one or the other and the food was easy to eat. The other thing is that the sandwich owner has so much energy it either seems fake or he is on something? Super tasty sub shop with a fun western theme. I had French Dip and it was loaded with tender meat and melted cheese and came out steaming hot. The Service was Wonderful! The weather here in AZ, mid 70's but a light breeze and we really wanted to sit outside. They gave us a tall Number plaque to put on the table and we were wondering how they would find us with the right food. This was not a problem at all,as soon as we sat at a table someone stopped to check on us, made sure the order was correct. They use Boar's Head meats and cheese on warm toasty sub rolls. And they aren't skimpy with filling them up generously like some other chain sub shops ( I won't mention any names ACHOOO SUBWAY) It's a small spotless interior with very pleasant staff to take your order.
