I have been bringing my kids here for 6 years however this last time rubbed me the wrong way. Kids get in moods and my daughter was in one of those moods. Dental assistant seemed annoyed and not patient with her at all. After crying during the whole cleaning my daughter started gagging because she had to vomit. Dental assistant didn't offer anything as I had my hands out to catch the vomit . Finally she says very snotty there's a trash can right there. After my daughter just spits in the trash she tells me to close the bag and tie it. Excuse me since when do I work here. My 2 daughters have been coming to this office since they have needed to start seeing a dentist. The hygienists and doctors here have all been great and made my kids feel safe. On to why I am leaving such a bad review. Yesterday I took my girls in for their scheduled 6 month checkups. Our dental insurance has never changed over the years since we have started coming to this office. During our check out process I was notified that their office is no longer contracted with our insurance, meaning that we are considered "out-of-network". So as I stand there AFTER my children had already had their services provided to them is when the office decides to let me know that I will owe them money. Our preventative services have always been covered at 100% ever since we began our relationship with this office up until this point. Every doctor or dentist office I have ever been to has always notified me up front of any insurance coverage changes or out of pocket costs. The checkout woman seemed very annoyed with my frustration and said that she could "inactivate" my children's charts. What kind of response is that to a parent who has been bringing their children in for services for multiple years? We have a relationship with this office and I felt like I was being treated as if I was the one in the wrong. Providing services and then telling me that the office is no longer contracted with my insurance, which has never changed since we have started going here, is just plain wrong. In all honesty even if I was told about the changes prior to their appointment I would have most likely still stayed and still paid my percent because researching trustworthy providers takes time. It would have given me the grace period to find someone new but also stay on top of any dental needs my kids have. I feel like by waiting to tell me after my children's services were provided that I would owe money for something I have never in the past was a crook move. How can I trust a place of business who does such a thing? I have never had an insurance change over the years of my established relationship with this office and today I felt taken advantage of. I put my trust in them and they only saw my family as target to capitalize off of. Shame on you Super Dentists for running such an operation that not only now has no trust from my family but for taking the joy out of coming to a place where my kids felt safe. At first my children and I enjoyed our visits to this office. I loved the atmosphere. However, their billing department was so difficult to work with--we aren't coming back. First of all they were charging us for things they didn't do. They would only mail me a monthly statement when they said I had a balance, I always asked for one once we paid, but they never mailed it to. Second, they were very difficult to get a hold of. So, my daughter is a current patient on both sides of the dentist office, and both Dr. Keri, and Julie were outstanding in treating my daughter's dental needs. The ambiance is extremely welcoming for children and parents and I am happy to have found a GREAT pediatric dentist to care for my daughter's teeth. UPDATE: if I could give less than a star I would. My son was seen by the hygienist, Crystal, today for his 6 month cleaning, who informed me that we should see another dentist for cleaning, as they only polish teeth at the super dentists and don't do a "real" cleaning. I was surprised to hear this, as I'd taken both my children here for cleanings every 6 months for the last 7 years. My insurance company would be surprised to hear that as well, since it has always been submitted it as a cleaning. Also, she was really adamant about getting printed records to take with us to our new dentist, as having them sent electronically was unreliable. So I went to the front desk to have them printed and was informed that no one in the office is able to do that for me, and the office manager was not in the office. That they only send them electronically. When I told the hygienist this, she came out to talk to the person and then backtracked her story, saying it was fine to have them sent electronically. This very disorganized office has gone downhill in the past few years, there is too much turnover with EVERY position in the office (dentist, receptionist, hygienist, and orthodontists), not one familiar face, every 6 months we're there. And now I think they're trying to introduce adult dentistry for the parents, per the sign I noticed at the front desk. Someone better inform them they do not clean, only polish, as their own hygienist told me. Blessing in disguise that the hygienist suggested we see another dentist. We will do just that. read more

Just stay away, don't take your kids here! The dentist came in and prepared his teeth for his fillings and left the assistants to do the rest. He ended up freaking out halfway through but because the dentist drilled all his teeth that needed a filling we couldn't just leave. I wish I knew ahead of time they would prepare all of his teeth at once instead of doing a couple at a time. He loved going to the dentist prior now he cries everytime the dentist it brought up. To add to the problem one of his crowns is completely chipped (not even a month later) just STAY AWAY!! After the appointment he told me that they were hurting the top of his mouth and low and behold when checked he had a small cut up there that was bleeding a bit. read more

The dental office and staff were kind and patient with my girl's routine cleaning visit. However, a few days after the visit I received a bill in the mail for $400+ dollars. I knew insurance claims couldn't have been processed that quickly. When I called the billing dept the lady told me to disregard the bill and that they have a new system that just generates these letters. She told me not to worry and that I would receive a new bill in a few weeks and apologized for the error. This week I received another bogus bill from The Super Dentist for $208. When I called, the lady told me the claim was still being processed and not to worry about paying said bill. The letters that I have received almost seem like a scam. Parents please do your due diligence before writing a check just because you received a letter stating you must pay within 15 days of the date of the letter. My husband and I see a different dentist and they show what insurance has paid and what the patient's responsibility is on their statements. I suggest The Super Dentist reviews their "new" system of how they send out their notifications for billing... seems like they are being sneaky and possibly taking advantage of patients who see a bill and pay it because it come from a "legit" company. read more

We waited in the small waiting area, for nearly an 1 hour for our 5:00 appointment with two young children. I literally received about ten text messages reminding me and confirming my appointment....how about you send out a text message telling me you are running an hour behind. I questioned some of your sterilizing techniques...ie: using a cavi wipe to clean new device for taking photos inside the mouth. There should be a cover....If you shouldn't touch a cavi wipe with a bare hand than maybe you shouldn't be wiping something down with it and then inserting it into the mouth without a cover. I work in the medical field and am fairly confident that this is not a good practice. Treasure box empty. It's a pediatric dentist...the kids are motivated by the prizes. How hard is it to keep it stocked....it's a bunch of junk anyway. read more

Be careful with this facility. They will do x-rays on your kids teeth without your approval then you will get a bill from them telling you that your insurance did not pay. Why? because they had already done x-rays on the previous visit. They get X-ray happy. I will not be taking my kids to these scammers. read more

I feel like the waiting room is decorated very nicely but the patient rooms are mediocre wait time exceeded 30 minutes past our appointment time and then I felt like we were rushed the entire time throughout the appointment dentist stopped in for all of 3 minutes or so kind of felt let down compared to other dentist we've been to. Seems they may be understaffed and lack of updated dental equipment seems like all their funding went to advertisement and stuff that doesn't matter in Dental Care. All of this appointment was just for General exam not an in-depth Ortho or feeling appointment I was just cleaning and x-rays on that note x-rays are performed with a portable x-ray unit and not an actual stationary x-ray unit x-rays came out not as clear as they would normally. read more

I cannot believe how bad their business practices are. They went out of network with our insurance and didn't notify us. Then they lied about it and billed us the entire amount of the visit. I went back and forth with them for months to resolve the balance and had such a difficult time getting someone to call me back. Everyone I spoke with had a different excuse or explanation for the billing. Meanwhile, I am getting periodic threatening letters from them. It turns out this happened with a lot of their customers and they went after all of them. Eventually I just got tired of fighting and paid because they made it so difficult for me to work with them and were threatening collections. The billing should have been waived since this was their mistake. This company does not care about their patients. They buy Yelp reviews by promising the kids toys. read more

The last time I took my daughter here, they charged my insurance for X-rays that were never done (medical fraud). My insurance contacted them and they admitted the error and resubmitted the claim correctly. Ok fine. But now I had another appt. And of course they text you approximately 1 million times to "confirm" the appt. So I got a call today that my appointment has been canceled due to "non confirmation" because this time I decided I'm just going to confirm the day of my appointment instead of confirming a million times. Like really, how many texts messages do we need to respond to??? I guess it's a blessing in disguise as I will definitely seek a more organized facility. Two stars only because the clinical staff is always good. But administration, you guys are completely out of touch with reality if you expect people to reply to all of your messages and then you just cancel them when they don't respond. I seriously felt like I was getting harassed by this office lol. read more

They left glue cement on my sons theet after brakets were removed and they never took it out hes front theet started to open again after 6 months and they take payments but if you dont pay on the due date theres a late fee of $20 also if you cant make it to your appoimet they charge $20 and they would always skip my doughter with special needs cleanings they would always ask for a paper from the pediatrician and i would take it to them and by the time her next cleaning apoiment they would say they dint have it ,never recived it ect read more

We've gone to this dentist a numerous of times and EVERYTIME most of them are very rude especially the one who takes the temperature at the front. Ever since the coronavirus we've had to send a text and then wait to receive a message from them saying we can go in, but they never respond and if they do they take like 30 minutes. Not to mention they cancelled an appointment we made so we went at 8 in the morning and waited just to get told they cancelled it and that supposedly they called to have us know but I NEVER got any call or even text. My daughter had a dentist appointment at 9am for fillings. She is missing school as well. We were called in at 9:12am because I asked what was taking so long. Then we were in the room waiting for over 20 mins. I finally asked if somebody was going to start these fillings because she is hungry and couldn't eat any food due to the fillings. Someone finally came in at 9:45.....this was ridiculous. What is the point of an appointment when you wait so long? I know I'm not the nicest person when it comes to this Covid issue but they could have definitely gotten my daughter in sooner. Waiting in your car until you are called in is a little much. I don't know of any other dental place that is doing this. There always seems to be an ongoing issue when we come here for dentist appointments. There are clearly overbooking appointments. The only reason she is still going here is because all of her dental work is already paid for. read more

I want to start off by saying that the staff at the Oceanside location have always been wonderful and helpful. I have only had good experiences at this office which is why there are two stars here. Otherwise I would have put one. However, the main billing department is a different story. A few months back, we received a call from their office stating on my voicemail that they were calling regarding "a concern we have" on the accounts belonging to my two children. They also called my husband. And then called the next day and maybe two days after that again. So naturally, I called back to respond. They indicated we owed money for the recent service that my kids had. But then pressured me to pay the amount due on the phone. I said that I would like to see a bill to review the charges and to have for my records and she said that had already been sent. When I asked when it was sent she told me the date - which was only two days before this conversation. Obviously I had not received it yet! So I said I would pay once it came through my mailbox. When I did receive it the next day, I noticed that the bill said I was 90 days past due. I called the office to pay it and the gal who I spoke to said that this was the first bill that had been sent out. So naturally my question was why I was flagged as 90 days overdue when I hadn't even been sent a bill or given a phone call until now?!? Whatever. I paid it. Fast forward to today. Got another call with the same language - that there was a concern on my account. I called back and said that I would like to see a bill and asked if one had been sent out. She said, "of course, we sent it on 5/23!" Ummm that is today. Clearly I haven't received it yet. I requested that they not call myself and my husband every day until we have had a chance to review the bill and the charges. Now, if I get that bill and it says it's overdue, I will not be happy. My son's appointment was only 3 weeks ago..... Despite the wonderful treatment at the Oceanside office, we will not be returning to the Super Dentists because of the way they handle their billing and collections. I feel that it is very poor customer service. If you are that hard pressed for $18 and are willing to manipulate your customers, then clearly my opinion really doesn't matter. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place!! All 3 of my kids have gone here since they were babies for their first check-ups. Now our oldest is being seen by their ortho unit. The staff is great and knowledgeable, the billing girl is very informed and helpful and I never feel like they are pushing unnecessary treatments on us. Because of the experience they give, all of my kids enjoy their visits which makes it so much easier to stay on top of their care. read more

Not a fan of the staff! The dentist was cold and abrasive. It took forever to be seen, we took ex rays then waited another 40 minutes. I don't have the luxory of time with a 3 year old. They told me my insurance didn't cover the procedure. Funny, my second opinion told me my insurance covers everything but my Co pay. All the video games and super hero costumes in the world wouldn't bring me back through those doors. Thank you super dentist for confirming the stigma of the dentist being scary. read more

My child had to be removed from this facility crying and shaking. They have cause him sever anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist and it has been a year since he visited this place. The location in Carmel valley is much better. I would never recommend them to anyone! read more
