I brought my son here last year when he was little over a year old, he had fallen at school and pushed his new teeth up into his gums which was causing severe discomfort. The dentist and all of the assistances took such good care of us, they made him comfortable and they were able to ensure his well being and made him feel better. My son had a blast dressing up in the available super hero costumes and playin the games they provide. We've been back several times for follow ups and cleanings since then, he loves this place and as a parent there's nothing more comforting then knowing your child is in good hands. They make you feel welcome in every since of the word. Sometimes they are a bit busy, but even when you have to wait, it's well worth it. I had to wait 52 minutes for an appointment for my son to be seen. His appointment time was 9am so it's not like they had a bunch of people show up late to earlier appointments which pushed the schedule back throughout the day. He couldn't eat for 2 hours before his appointment so by the time we got through the door and into the room, it was after 10 am. He was supposed to have two crowns and something else done. They strapped his arms down which I totally understand but he was clearly uncomfortable and in pain within a minute of them starting his dental work (after giving him many shots which he screamed and cried through). It was clear he was going to be severely traumatized if I let this go on so, close to tears myself, I asked if they do general anesthesia there. The doctor said yes and agreed that was the way to go because she advised he would need another hour or so of dental work and he was already losing his mind. She immediately ripped off his dental dam and almost seemed happy to be able to leave the room (as EVERY SEAT in the place was full at this point and the staff was obviously over-extended). I wish she would have offered to send a care coordinator in but we went into the waiting area where people were checking out. I thought, since they hadn't allowed me to give him any food, that it meant he could still get treatment today using anesthesia. But no, after we were already close to the exit I was told my son was numbed up for nothing and we would have to come back on a totally different day. I guess I should have asked about scheduling before. But fine. Then I find out that the cost could be over $2K. I thought maybe $1K but WITH insurance, it would be $2,000+ just for the anesthesia. We don't have two thousand dollars to spend to make a dental appointment bearable... so now my only choice was to tell my son (who is still sitting in my lap crying and terrified) that he was going back into that room to scream through another hour of dental work. We were already there and he was already numb and by now it was 11am and my whole work day was shot. I tried to take him back into the treatment room and he was beside himself. I was beside myself. Why did they make us wait an hour in the first place? Why was every dental seat full, with a waiting room literally full of people and no less than TEN families standing outside waiting to be seen? Why didn't the doctor leave the PPE/dental dams etc on my son when I brought up general anesthesia until the cost and schedule could be explained to me? We left a second time, with my son still hysterically crying, and me, so mad I couldn't see straight. All this place cares about is making money. They spend boatloads on marketing (Facebook, in-person visits to local preschools, you name it) when they already have a caseload which is WAY over their capacity. I have no idea which pediatric dentist I'm going to take my son to next, now that he is completely traumatized from this experience but it will be a place which doesn't overbook their schedule by literal hours just to make money, and can actually give the needed time to every patient to go over options if something they're doing isn't working for whatever reason. The office manager said I would get a refund of my co-pay before I decided to TRY to take my son back for his treatment the second time (so all the time and pain wasn't wasted) but I haven't seen the reversal on my credit card yet. The assistant tried to show me the side door to exit from in hopes that I wouldn't warn the other 10+ families who were angrily waiting around for their turn, but I took it upon myself to exit out the front and let the other parents know that if they love their kids, they'll take them to a better dentist. This place is greedy, overbooks their schedule by hours, and if there is any hiccup whatsover, will do whatever it takes to get you out the door quickly. read more

My daughter has been coming here since 2, she's now about 6. The hygientis are always kind and very knowledgeable. My daughter looks forward to coming and knows the routine for her check ups and is always happy to see the girls! As a mom it gives me a piece of mind knowing she's taken care of. read more

I don't like writing bad reviews and I usually stay away from leaving reviews mostly all together. All three of my boys were scheduled for the same time. I have an 8 year old autistic son, 6yo, and a 5 year old. I was called the day before their appointments and was basically told that they don't cover POS insurance.... which was actually a giant misunderstanding because we had PPO which we had said in the beginning. I had to cancel the appointments and call my insurance to figure out, instead the front office calling the insurance and getting the info which all offices have done in the past... which at the time was fine. I got back to them within 20 minutes with the information after our appointments were canceled. Took two hours to get a response back to let me know the boys were still on for 8am, which was frustrating but things happen. Then we got a call later from another lady telling us to call so they can book us for the next day, but another lady already booked us. It was just kind of lack of organization and communication... We went the next day thinking that it was just a misunderstanding and we went in with an open mind, especially since they have come highly recommended in several reviews I wasn't impressed. And we will not be going back... The dental assistants and hygienist were so nice and just sweet as pie. They were amazingly sweet with my nervous boys and put their fears at ease... They put my concerns and worries at ease and were very understanding.... but the actual Dentist was awful, no bed side manned at all... she came in and didn't even introduce herself. I didn't even know she was the dentist for the first 5-10 minutes. She said maybe 3 words to all of my kids combined. All she said was sit still, open your mouth, and almost done... she did NOT explain anything to us and told us that the hygienists would go over it with me. Even though my oldest son will have to be put under IV sedation which can be scary for anyone but especially for us. He has autism, sensory processing disorder, and he has allergies to many medications and foods. They basically told me to check with my primary care physician If I had further questions, not at all the same experience I had with another pediatric dentist in NOR CAL. We were more nervous and anxious walking out of their office then when we arrived. They told me that my son will be put under, 4 teeth extracted, root canals, and multiple fillings, and caps. I asked about medication afterwards and they told me to ask the anesthesiologist. I have never in my life had an anesthesiologist prescribe meds nor have I ever not had a dentist be able to explain the full process of the procedures to me. They told me my son had an infection after the doctor was already out of the room and I asked about antibiotics and they couldn't give me an answer. Not to mention the dentist missed a giant cavity in the front on my youngest from a chipped tooth. she didn't explain anything and I wouldn't feel comfortable with her doing my children's procedures. As for the other dentists, I have no experience with them, they could be great?! She also explained that they would not be putting spacers in my sons teeth because he has autism and sensory processing disorder but in result he will prolly need braces. Wouldn't braces be more invasive for my son who has sensory issues? And you won't give anything for his pain as he is super sensitive but you want to avoid spacers because his sensory issues. They also explained they will place the kids on a boated and secure their hands. This is very different from the others dentist we went to and seems very scary and old fashion for a child. I wish the Dr. had a better bed side manner and I wished they cared more about each individual patient. We will be seeking a second opinion. I really hope this was just our experience and not the normal. Also, when giving is the quotes they told us many things our insurance covered but that they don't except insurance for certain types of visits... this place seems very money driven and little care about your actual precious babies! I really hope I got the wrong impression but both me and my husband were really not impressed and both wanted to not come back. But to the two ladies that saved the trip for my kids and made the cleanings not so scary, I commend you and I thank you! Also, the three ladies at the front desk had no customer service skills and seemed like they hated their job. They are the first faces you see and the first impression you get and let me just say it wasn't a very good impression from the start... THE ONLY REASON I GAVE 2 stars is because of the dental assistant and the hygienist, you ladies were amazing!! The office is very small and my kids were bored while waiting for their siblings. Yes, they have things in the waiting rooms but nothing for the kids in the back other then TVs. It would of been impossible for me to of done it with 3 kids without my husband. read more

Worst experience ever. We have been going here for years and unfortunately the last two visits have been less than satisfactory. On June 25, my older two were seen for a cleaning and X-rays. The second assistant that took over was rushed, she literally cleaned my daughters teeth in two mins, that is including flossing and fluoride. She told me that my kids were all set and just needed to come back for a cleaning in 6 months. As, we were leaving I approached the front office staff to make an apt for my son to have his spacer removed. Well, today my youngest daughter and my son had their apts at 8 am. My son text me stating, the assistants didn't know why he was scheduled and that he had cavities. These cavities were not mentioned at the last apt. They said, because he wasn't scheduled on the orthodontist side they couldn't not remove his spacer today. I told them they need to accommodate this, since they clearly dropped the ball. They told me I would have to wait. While all of this was going on, I am with my 6 year old in a room, waiting for an assistant. Her apt was at 8 am, we left at 9:15 without being seen, without being treated. This is ludicrous and absolutely poor patient care. I asked to speak to a manager, she supposedly was not there at the time, when I asked again she was in a meeting. I was told I would receive a call in 20 mins and it's been almost 40 mins. How does an office allow their patients to be missed scheduled, cavities not be mentioned, keep their patients waiting for over an hour and not care that the ball is clearly being dropped by multiple staff members. I would give them zero stars if that was an option. I am highly considering reaching out to the Board of California to share my experience read more

Usually, I am very pleased with bringing my kids into the super dentist. The main dentist and dental hygienist​ are very sweet and work well with the kids. However, my last two visits​ to​ this establishment have been terrible. The customer service of the front desk representative was horrific, as she likes to talk over you versus listening until you're done explaining the issue. The office manager wasn't much better when dealing with my issue. Her tone of voice and lack of empathy was very disheartening and frankly, they both came off rude and disrespectful. Really unfortunate to see a few negative reviews on here regarding Geoffrey & Brandon Bell. I have been going to Geoffrey Bell for 30 years. I've had many cleanings, several fillings & three crowns over this time span. ALL FLAWLESS EXPERIENCES. One crown in particular caused Dr. Bell to work a Holiday. Geoffrey & Brandon Bell are exceptional Dentists! As a matter of fact I moved to Maui three years ago & I fly back twice a year just to see Dr Bell. I discovered that he has patients that travel further than I do for dental treatment. Don't pay attention to the negative & frivolous reviews that are quite honestly absurd. I think one should care more about the consistent excellency of dental procedures performed by these incredible Dentists than complaining about how they had to wait in the lobby for 20 extra minutes or that their insurance wasn't covered. Today I started my ortho treatment! And I had pleasant visit with Emily, Christian, and Dr Sarah. I explain to Christian about my acid reflex that causes dry mouth which causes me to gag when my mouth is to dry. That is something they accommodate for me! Which is extremely beneficial to me! Although the actual dentists are great the appointment system is terrible. I called 4 times to re-schedule because no one was responding to the texts and finally my 5th call at 5pm was answered and I was told my ida appointment was cancelled. The last person I spoke to said that there were no notes in their system which I was told by the 4 previous people they had done so someone from the office could call me back to reschedule. It's frustrating and upsetting to have to wait for a call when I clearly was not going to get one. They are extremely rude when you have to cancel last minute because of an emergency but when you try to reschedule ahead of time they don't bother to abide by the same rules as the patients do and respond promptly or even at all in my case. I'm not even sure where to start.I wish I knew the treatment coordinator name that helped me with my recent visit, all I can say was I continued to get the run around with having my kids xrays sent , it was lies after lies. Not only was she rude but inconsiderate and had an attitude. She couldn't even explain where a balance was coming from, then proceeded to tell me that there was a charge for xrays. Then I asked for the managers name and days after I finally reached out to the patient coordinator ( I had to personally reach out and was able to get the contact from the call center ? It Then took more than over a week to get my xrays. I had to follow up multiple times and when I finally received them, the email stated "3rd time sending the records, I have history to prove it ". How rude can you be?!you really think a parent would be reaching out for records if she had received them. Coming from a customer service background, I know that communication and respect go a long way. Very disappointing and amazed at how bad of an experience I had with the super dentist. The atmosphere of the office makes it fun for the kids to walk into the dentists office without fear but with the anticipation of having a fun experience. This was my only 2nd visit but thoroughly enjoyed the visit and have recommended it to friends already. Update: we came in to recement a crown that fell out with a lollipop and Edlyn was the Super assistant who did an awesome job and my daughter literally said, "I love coming to the dentist" The experience here is not only great for kids but for parents as well... I took my son to an appointment this morning and things started off shaky. I didn't confirm the appointment, so I was a little worried they weren't going to see him, but they confirmed it. Then we were sitting down and people that came in after us were being called back before us. I was getting anxious because I had to work today and was hoping to get in and 30mins - 45mins later be out. Well, fast forward from the moment we were called back by Liz, the appointment was great!! Great place overall . My kid loves getting there earlier then app to play , they're nice and talk to her in a way to make her feel comfortable which has never happened before , after the visit She loves to get her prizes she gets After earning pints from the visit . Love the complimentary coffee/hot chocolate/tea.. I wished there were more activities tho maybe another tablet for kids I think there was one or two but there's a bunch of kids .. maybe some more dress up clothing at least to size 6/7x. I took my son twice here. Place is nice clean and kid friendly. I liked this place the first time we came however the next time we had appointment at 9 my son is 2 1/2 we got there 10 before 9 as we should. I sat with my son for over 35 minutes waiting. I continued to ask the front desk they kept saying they would be right with us. When we were finally called back my son was tired of being there. Told him we just needed to finish. He went in and was done. The hygienist was nice and did good job cleaning. The dentist stated he was starting to have cavities and if I wanted to start treatments now or wait. I said wait. Cause at 2 1/2 he shouldn't have many especially because my son eats good and we don't give many treats. Went to make an appointment for next time they said appointments only on the hour. That's when I realized that they make so many appointments at the same time and just call as you go. If your appointment is at 8 you will be seen anytime between 8-9 this is the worst especially having two kids and having to wait not knowing what time you will be seen. I went to a new place Oceanside Dental Arts my son has no cavities and need no treatments!!!!! Watch out on what they tell you!!! Not happy with the way they make appointments read more

After 30 minutes in the room 1st assistant comes in to take my child for X-rays, took her sweet time then sends my daughter to the room alone. I step outside and ask the billing assistant how much longer 2be seen, 2nd assistant comes try to assist while doctor is doing exam doctor leaves room and then 3rd assistant comes and takes 2nd assistant out says she will take over at this point I'm done ortho doctor comes in says she needs a panoramic X-rays I refuse to this and told her next time she comes back she can get them done I've been here too long and I don't want to get them done today I need to leave she said you still have to wait for your next appointment to be book I said that it's fine she gave me attitude and walk me to the front. I am so disappointed. Never bringing my children back after more then 10 years coming here ! read more

Feeling very frustrated by this office. Brought my daughter in for an exam, xrays and cleaning and mentioned that her orthodontist wanted to have some teeth pulled before putting her braces on. They said she needed five fillings and pressured me to have them filled before getting her teeth pulled. I explained that I didn't feel this made sense since the teeth they wanted to fill were most likely going to be pulled. They REALLY didn't like that answer, made me sign a waiver all the while rolling their eyes at me like I'm a bad mom. About three weeks later the orthodontist sent over the request for extractions and they are now refusing to pull her teeth stating that they won't pull them because the request came from another orthodontist! Are you kidding!?? They're basically trying to force us to use their orthodontist! I said, nope see ya "super" dentist!! I'll go elsewhere, thanks! What a waste of my time! read more

I took my 5 year old daughter to Western Dental usually but they are pretty awful so I decided to try a new place that was more "kid friendly". I found The Super Dentist. It's a great waiting area with dirty princess costumes and toys. The front of the office seemed to look nice via photos online, but the moment you step foot in there it seemed really dirty. As my daughter goes in for a procedure for a cavity/crown...it was the most awful and traumatizing experience for a parent. They didn't give her the gas to calm her nerves. She wasn't even trying to climb out of her chair and wasn't fidgety until they decided to STRAP HER DOWN like someone that belongs in a psych ward. They strapped her arms down over her chest and they also strapped her legs down when it wasn't even necessary. The strapping down made her even more scared and the kind of scream my daughter made was the kind that would make any parent dread hearing. I thought they knew what they were doing. I wanted them to stop. I called around other dental offices that were kid friendly and asked if they strapped children down the way the super dentists do, and they laughed and said "no way!" It was a mistake coming here. I'm left with a traumatizing image and memory that will never go away. Please do not come here for your child...if you care about your child. Don't come here. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Extremely Dissatisfied with the medical discrimination we faced today in your oceanside ca office. We have been patients at this particular clinic for almost 2 years having been seen and treated here before. Monday December 3 we paid in full for two years of orthodontic services to be preformed and made the appointment that was supposed to be for today. Confirmed appointment in office with office staff to be guaranteed a Saturday appointment All the requested medical clearances were filled out and immediately returned and this appointment on the books all week long, to get a phone call this morning telling us the provider could not see us today. then we get a text message saying due to non confirmation (we confirmed in the office with the staff to "be guaranteed a Saturday appointment") I called to find out why and was informed that despite the requested medical clearances being filled out and returned as a green light go ahead from the pediatrician the Dentist was refusing to treat our child. So our money was acceptable to take but now our kid not acceptable to be treated? And when I pointed out that all Medical clearances were signed off on and stamped by the requested medical professionals I was told the dentist was no longer comfortable treating our child. Shame on you super dentist. read more

We love the super dentists! They really take care of their patients! So easy to schedule appointments and they send out reminders. Very professional and clean clinic. They have been my kids' dentists for 6 years now! We definitely recommend them! I like that they do not pressure you to get procedures or stuff that are not necessary. I have been bringing my kids here for 6 years however this last time rubbed me the wrong way. Kids get in moods and my daughter was in one of those moods. Dental assistant seemed annoyed and not patient with her at all. After crying during the whole cleaning my daughter started gagging because she had to vomit. Dental assistant didn't offer anything as I had my hands out to catch the vomit . Finally she says very snotty there's a trash can right there. After my daughter just spits in the trash she tells me to close the bag and tie it. Excuse me since when do I work here. Well I have to say this is probably the coolest dentist ever! The waiting area is super comforting for the kids and they have a great movies on while you wait. Also the staff is super accommodating and very nice. Phil was my daughters tech and he was super friendly and very helpful with tips on making sure we are keeping her teeth nice! Also, I grabbed some great tips for him for myself and my husband! Thanks Phil! Lisa was great and really took the time to elaborate on "the toy store" since my daughter was so excited about this aspect. She also showed us around and made sure we were totally familiar with the place and when we came back we knew where to go. I appreciate her and all the girls that assisted us! The dentist was very nice I believe his name was Dr. Yoo and was very calm and collected about her having fillings done. Overall wonderful experience and very pleased with the staff and services! This facility just opened about three months ago, its a pediatric/ortho dentistry for kids and they take pretty much any insurance as long as its PPO, and its the best!!! My kids loved it. The employees and i mean everybody were really helpful, nice and patient. The doctor was really calm and friendly with my lil boy, she was actually able to make him stop crying and enjoy his cleaning. After the procedure the kids get awarded points to save or get a toy after their appointment. When u first get there they have two sections were kids can play, and dress up while u check in and wait to be called. This place is very clean, and the area were this facility is located, is really nice. This place met my kids and my expectations 100%. will definately be going back :-D read more

My 2 daughters have been coming to this office since they have needed to start seeing a dentist. The hygienists and doctors here have all been great and made my kids feel safe. On to why I am leaving such a bad review. Yesterday I took my girls in for their scheduled 6 month checkups. Our dental insurance has never changed over the years since we have started coming to this office. During our check out process I was notified that their office is no longer contracted with our insurance, meaning that we are considered "out-of-network". So as I stand there AFTER my children had already had their services provided to them is when the office decides to let me know that I will owe them money. Our preventative services have always been covered at 100% ever since we began our relationship with this office up until this point. Every doctor or dentist office I have ever been to has always notified me up front of any insurance coverage changes or out of pocket costs. The checkout woman seemed very annoyed with my frustration and said that she could "inactivate" my children's charts. What kind of response is that to a parent who has been bringing their children in for services for multiple years? We have a relationship with this office and I felt like I was being treated as if I was the one in the wrong. Providing services and then telling me that the office is no longer contracted with my insurance, which has never changed since we have started going here, is just plain wrong. In all honesty even if I was told about the changes prior to their appointment I would have most likely still stayed and still paid my percent because researching trustworthy providers takes time. It would have given me the grace period to find someone new but also stay on top of any dental needs my kids have. I feel like by waiting to tell me after my children's services were provided that I would owe money for something I have never in the past was a crook move. How can I trust a place of business who does such a thing? I have never had an insurance change over the years of my established relationship with this office and today I felt taken advantage of. I put my trust in them and they only saw my family as target to capitalize off of. Shame on you Super Dentists for running such an operation that not only now has no trust from my family but for taking the joy out of coming to a place where my kids felt safe.
