Over 8 years ago, I posted a review that reflected how I felt about the sushi here but over the last year, our family has visited this spot several times and we have loved the rolls we've had. I took my daughter here the other day to celebrate her second shot. We've been waiting almost two years for her to be fully vaccinated, so we were very excited to take her, and to celebrate after. We came to Sushi Bar because it was on our way home, and open on a Monday. And when your six year old wants sushi, you get it for her. We ordered a bento box with tempura as our shared appetizer and each got a roll (pacific roll for me, california for her). Our food was good and was served quickly once we were able to order. The bento box was my favorite, with a mixture of veggie and shrimp tempura, house salad, miso soup, rice, two gyoza, and fruit. It was the perfect thing for us to share, and I would do that again when eating with my adventurous girl. I could tell the fish on my roll was very fresh and very good. The only missing star is for a bit of a lag with service. We were seated for about 15 minutes before we got to order. We weren't starving and we weren't in a huge hurry, and they had dropped waters off so we did have those, but by the time we got our food we'd already been there for over 30 minutes. By the time we did get out of there, we definitely would have blown through a traditional "lunch hour". I know everyone is understaffed right now. It might have been better if we had little paper menus we could fill out on our own, and those could have just been dropped off at the sushi bar, but I don't think they do those here. I felt very bad for our server, as she was really the only one working the large restaurant, which also included tables on the patio. read more

The worst experience ever in a restaurant!!! The owner came drunk on my wife and call her names that is too shame to say them here, my wife and I are customers in this location since day one on weekly basis and what ever happened tonight for my wife and my friends was scary and devastating, one of the girls in the table didn't get her food and we she asked about it they told her they will check on it and never did and when they ask again the waitress said "you guys don't deserved my time" and get out of here and call the police!!! That's the owner of the place, drunk calling moms and girls really bad names, this place don't deserve to stay open or to get any of our business. If you have a girlfriend, a wife, a mom and you in the respect of women please don't give this restaurant owner your money! It's a shame that the sushi is good but the owner is a bad person. Finally was able to check this place out! Really nice modern restaurant. Very clean. The sushi was the best I've ever had! The captain crunch roll was AMAZING! I ate the whole roll... I NEVER do that! The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because the service was very slow and our waitress wasn't very attentive and they were NOT even busy! We enjoyed the sushi so much we will be back! Maybe a different wait staff will be better! Go eat ! read more

Will never be back! We went there to celebrate my friend's birthday. We were 7 girls, we arrived at 8:45pm, (they close at 10pm). We got our food at 9:50pm, and the forgot to make my roll. The manager saw that I didn't get the roll, and left the table without telling me nothing. 10 minutes after I asked my server if they are making my roll, and she just said, no we don't because they closed the kitchen. So I came hungry to eat, I was waiting 1 hour to get my food, didn't get my food because they missed it, and no body even came to apologize about it. The worst experience, worst costumer service I have ever seen. Do not go there! By the way, the owner was there too, and when I complained, he just said that if we don't spend there 5000 dollars a week, then we don't worth it to treat us good. read more

I have not been disappointed by The Sushi Bar. Not even once. The sushi is clearly amazing as other reviews will show but one little gem here is actually the Salmon Salad! Large portion and very filling. Highly recommend you give it a try when you are looking for something a slight bit different to try here. Everything we ordered was delicious. We have been wanting to try several of these rolls for a while and decided tonight was the night to try them all lol. My favorite was the Kurtz roll which came with eel sauce on the side. The basonator came with a overly sweet ponzu sauce which we could have done without. Pandora's box has been on our list to try for a while and it was good, pretty spicy from the atomic sauce and extremely large. Honesty probably won't order the Pandora's box again, just didn't love it enough for the price. All in all some great choices. read more

Sushi's never cheap, but prices at The Sushi Bar seem decent. Since it was mom's night out we had a variety of rolls to taste. I tried three... Lemon Drop Roll (Salmon), Captain Crunch Roll and Sunset Roll. All were good. I think the Sunset Roll was my favorite, though I was disappointed in the lemon basil dipping sauce that came with us... it wasn't very basily nor lemony to me and my friends who tried the sauce didn't care for it either. The Lemon Drop was delicious as well and the Captain Crunch was good too. The tempura shrimp and veggies appetizers was sooooo good!!! And the Edamame delish too... Our server Tesh was fantastic too!! We asked him to take our photo and he was so sweet, not only did he say no problem, but as he took the phone to take the photo, he moved all the empty dishes so that we would have a much cleaner photo. Now, that's thoughtful. He was kind and a great server, there when we needed but not hoovering! As he served our plates he identified for each of us which roll was which on the plates he laid so we weren't left guessing. And since a few of us ordered Gf rolls, he immediately brought a bottle of Gf soysauce Great service! We will meet there again sometime I am sure. read more

I also like the atmosphere of the restaurant and sometimes they have live music. Also, this location has Sushi Happy Hour from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Thursday through Saturday! Perfect for your late night sushi fix! The rolls are also filling. For me, two rolls is more than enough! And, as you would hope for with sushi, their presentation is always on point! My favorite sushi spot in town! My boyfriend and I usually go here for dinner. Sometimes I venture off my usual, but I always find myself ordering my favorite roll: Bubba's roll made with crawfish. Although their gluten-free menu is limited, you can order pretty much anything and make modifications. The servers there are pretty helpful and knowledgeable of allergies. It wasn't too bad of a wait on a Friday night at 20 minutes. After we were seated, we got our appetizers. I ordered vegetable tempura which was pleasantly crisp and a nice variety of vegetables (asparagus, sweet potato, squash, zucchini, and I think one other vegetable) The taste was excellent and was just enough to tide us over until the main plate of sushi arrived. The green tea was not pleasant even after you added sugar so I switched it out with a soda. The waitress was very good at explaining differences in sushi rolls. Even when my friend disliked the roll they ordered with yellowtail, she offered commentary on the texture and dryness of the fish. I mean...it was good information even though they had already ordered a roll they didn't like. We ordered the two vegetarian options on the sushi list (so that was pleasant as we didn't have to settle for just avocado rolls and cucumber rolls) plus the avocado rolls and my friends got rolls with meat in them. The Master Room roll and the Old Fashioned roll. All of the pictures are in the photos section. The Master Roll was pleasant when you put the whole thing in your mouth. Honestly it had crunchy bonito like flakes on top and the whole things tasted like a sour cream and onion chip but was it was very mild and not overpowering. The Old Fashioned roll was nice as well. The sauce that was on the roll was kind of what brought the flavor. One thing I will say is that it is super hyper mega ultra dark in this joint. There isn't much of an ambience. A few asian inspired lamps here and there but nothing that pulls the whole space together. And with such a high ceiling, I would figure they would do something to even out all the open air space. That may be why it's so dark. The darker it is the darker the ceiling looks which I guess brings the ceiling down? Forgive me...I'm not an interior designer but I think the space could be more alive, let's just say. The price was very reasonable and we were so full on just the two rolls with the avocado rolls. We would have even been fine without the tempura. We shared two rolls with two people and did just fine. About $40 for the two rolls (14 slices) plus the 6 avocado rolls and about 6-8 pieces of tempura plus soft drinks. I consider that veryyyyyy reasonable. I would definitely go back when I'm in the Edmond area. read more

Other Sushi in OKC is just other Sushi. The Sushi Bar is different. A must try is their Shishito Peppers. They are a wonderfully delicious yet somewhat warm pepper that is grilled and dusted with Sea Salt and butter. A quick spritz of lemon juice and your taste buds are off to the races. We also enjoy Pandora's Box, The Sushi Tower, Spicy Tuna Explosion, The Bassantor and more. I can not recommend this place enough. If you haven't been, you must go. If you've been, you must go back! We opted for an appetizer of miso and it was extremely tasty. Next we ordered the naughty girl cooked roll, Cap'n Crunch roll and G2 fresh roll. Let me say it was truly excellent! The flavors and textures were spot on. We actually started out with 2 rolls and added the Captain Crunch to continue to sample their menu.
