I typically adore the sushi bar as I've gone here almost since it was open but tonight was different! The whole service was off and uninviting. The thing that bothered us most was that we received a different roll instead of the one we ordered and she proceeded to scrape it off of our plate onto a side plate and took it to the back. ( which we saw her eating in back ) I completely understand long hungry shifts as I am in the industry as well. I would never scrape food off a patrons plate, especially in front of them. TSB was great when they opened several years ago. Hip, sleek decor and plenty of TVs if you don't want to talk to your date. However, the owners have not maintained the restaurant. Dingy bathroom walls, tired decor, and old seating don't make me want to spend $100 for dinner like I used to. Love the reverse Happy Hour! I've been there a few times and enjoyed it each time. I always get the fried calamari. It's a little different compared to other restaurants. They use the entire calamari including the tentacles. It's lightly battered and fried. I usually use the truffle aioli that's served with the fried chicken. Stopped in for lunch today when I saw the sign. This place has only been open a few months. I will have to say that this restaurant is very beautiful. There was a lot of thought that went into the design. The sushi here was good--nothing that would jump out at you but not bad either. I really enjoyed the Green Lantern roll which is made with yellowtail and avocados. The fish seems fresh, and the place is very clean. My only critique of the lunch menu was the lack of sushi roll specials. There are no lunch specials for sushi rolls; only bento boxes and appetizers, ect. They could probably draw a larger lunch crowd if they would make certain sushi rolls discounted for lunch. The menu has the rolls divided into cooked and fresh. They have an alcohol menu serving both beer, sake and mixed drink specials. The prices were a tad on the higher end for what most people in the OKC area are used to paying for sushi. The first time the food came out it was wrong so they fixed it but for my sweet shrimp nigiri took over 15 mins for one simple thing. This is my daughters favorite place for sushi! It is very good! Bartender was super friendly and made an awesome mule. Had a Saki bomb because when in Rome... it was wonderful! Will do this again! I've had the Big O and a tempura shrimp roll and I've never been disappointed in my sushi. I've had sushi twice this week and I wouldn't mind having it thrice. I'm back at my favorite sushi joint ordering the same roll since 2016. I swear they put crack in their food! I cannot find this gem anywhere. It's a fresh roll called Sunset. I substituted the tempura shrimp inside for MORE salmon... I just cannot get enough. It's so simple yet so incredibly satisfying. This roll is served with Tuna cubes tossed in a perfectly savory house made chili oil and comes with a basil poblano sauce. I'm a sushi snob so I prefer my sushi without spicy mayo and without cream cheese (cringe) and prefer not to use soy sauce but there is something about that basil poblano sauce in particular that adds a beautiful zest & brightness to the roll, even though it is still wonderful on its own. Best sushi place in OKC in my opinion. I'm a regular. I sit at the bar, and John places my order without so much as a "what are we having today?", which is awesome. They have a great atmosphere, fabulous food, and good drink selection. The service is good and if you become a regular like me, they remember you. Came to urgent care which is on the side and saw Sushi Bar .. It's a very nice place and great comfortable seating as well as a fully looking stocked bar. Food is tasting very good so far After eating their udon was on point just what the doctor prescribed. The chicken was also well cooked. The only part I wouldn't work on is the roll. While it looked great the taste wasn't all exactly there and I'm only comparing to others places out in California but it was still good nonetheless. I used to be a big fan of Neko, but the quality and freshness at Sushi Bar is just better. The Tempura is always warm and crunchy, never soggy. The portion of meats within their roll is fantastic. No tiny speck of meat in a sea of rice here... I gave 4 stars because the service often time sucks. You rarely wait on food, but the servers don't check on you and often leave empty appetizer plates and other dishes and the table often becomes a pile of mess by the end of meal. I requested a few additions to my order Zew Zealand Salmon Sashimi and the chef was delighted to accommodate me. Not only was the Sashimi expertly prepared but he took my additions to the next level by incorporating it in a way that created a dish that looked like a piece of fine art! One felt pretty "wet" the other seemed as if the fried ingredients had been sitting awhile and were almost chewy. It wasn't terrible but I've definitely had better elsewhere.
