This is my go to sushi place. Not only is it conveniently down the street from our house but they just opened up their dining room again. The sushi menu is extensive so be prepared to make some tough decisions. I love to cucumber salad, I get it everytime. Every sushi item I've tried has been perfect. I haven't dined in yet since they've reopened, I've only done take out so I can't say any observations there. But everytime I pick up my take out the chefs and staff always say hello and have a great day. Very friendly group of people. You have made a repeat customer out of me. read more

We came here for lunch and though service was great, food was not. Both Earl and I got the sashimi lunch special which comes with 6 slices of assorted sashimi, a choice of spicy salmon, yellowtail, or tuna roll, soup and salad ($12.95 each) -The 6 slices of sashimi: thinly sliced and poorly cut. Doesn't even look and taste like sashimi grade. -Earl got the spicy salmon and I got the spicy yellowtail roll. Both rolls taste the same, except for the rice that covered the rolls. Why? Because the rice that covered the spicy salmon tasted SPOILED! It was Earl's pick so he didn't want to escalate the issue. This place is tucked away in the corner and not visible from the main street on Horizon Ridge. I forgot there was a restaurant here till I had a random convo with some guy at the grocery store who recommended it. The minute I stepped foot inside I said to myself "Ooo..I think I love this place already!" The decor modern chic, clean and simple, earth tone colors, pretty cherry blossom mural at the back wall, lush green bamboo plants that lined the entryway gave the place a certain calmness. It simply won me over in the ambiance department. Came right before the dinner hours so it wasn't too busy at all. Just a few patrons at the sushi bar and 3 other families in dining area that surrounded the sushi bar. My server was the one who greeted and seated me. He was fantastic throughout the whole time, real pleasant as were the rest of the staff who either refilled my drinks or served my meal. Had the Shrimp & Veggie Tempura and Yakitori Shrimp for my appys, Beef Teriyaki w/Miso Soup for my entree and Exotic Bomba Sorbet for dessert. The shrimp and veggies were lightly battered and decent size, Shrimp Yakitori was fresh and I like the asparagus with it, my entree, the sliced beef was a little tough and chewy, the teriyaki sauce was good, NOT the runny thin marinate kind, it was thicker so the flavors were more intense and sweet tasting. I give my entree a "B+". My dessert was the bomb!! Exotic Bomba found here! It's a sorbet with mango,passion fruit and raspberry sorbet in the middle, and covered by white chocolate. Decadent and refreshing at the same time. The Sushi definitely has the WOW factor so far. I look forward to many more visits and trying out more dishes! read more

The food is gross here.. we got serve cold miso soup.. I order a bento box with beef teriyaki and it had no taste.. I complained to the waitress and they told me that they only could give me 20 percent off my food.. I took one bite and no taste yuck!! They should of ask me if I wanted something else.. This was my go to place to eat for 3 years.. We went here Last month and the miso soup was cold but they took it off.. I don't know why I Order the beef teriyaki bento box and it didn't have no taste at all I ate it before it was yummy.. I don't know what's going on with this place but I will never go here again!!!!! The one thing that should never be screwed up is the quality of the Sushi rice. Went for lunch and the rice was mush! But, not unexpected when a sushi bar is run by a Korean chef. Um, drove by today thinking they might be open but it was open for take out only. The girl up front was nice enough to provide a menu and a few minutes to decide. I ordered 2 cut rolls, an eel roll and a spicy yellowtail roll. They were both awful. The spicy yellowtail was just plain unpleasant, tasted awful and ended up in the trash. I ordered 2 salmon and 1 yellowtail nigiri. It wasn't fresh at all. This was a complete waste of money. If you're not going to maintain standards, just close already. Go somewhere else. read more

This is our go to Sushi spot. Every time we've come here we've never left disappointed. We always order nigiri sushi and some baked and house rolls. We started with garlic edamame which comes out steaming hot! Next we get smoked salmon, red snapper, yellow tail, salmon, garlic tuna nigiri rolls. My favorite of those is the smoked salmon. The salmon has such a smooth texture and garnished with lemon it is fantastic. The flavor is what keeps us coming back for more! This trip the Sushi Chef sent us Salmon belly and Yellow Tail belly sashimi. It. Was. Amazing! Of the rolls we got pictured are Put Your Hands Up, Megabucks and Golden California. Honestly don't know why this place only has 3 stars. I've been here 4-5 times now and have always had an amazing meal. The Sundevil roll has got to be by far my favorite, but I've also tried the Las Vegas, Spider, Red Rock, as well as a fried, I belive it was crab, in a jalepeno dish that was simply delectable. The only minor thing I can think of is that my check book took a minute to come out ONE time, but as I work in a resturant as well I understand that PEOPLE ARE HUMAN AND ARENT PERFECT. As for other complaints I've seen about timeliness of their food- its sushi. It's basically an art form. You are getting hand-crafted delicies that are made to order. If you want your food out in 10 minutes or less go to jack in the box. This is quality, and I will continue to sing their praises and come here when I can. I'll just say this will be the first and last time we're going to this place. Here's a list of things that was wrong. 1. Fish was not fresh. 2. Wasabi was old. 3. Lemon were old and dry 4. Menu says one thing. Food came out spicy. Nothing on menu stated it. 5. Beef stir fry was chewy and rubbery 6. Donkatsu was hard like a rock. If I could throw the cool with it, I'd hurt him with the food. 7. There's a different between spicy edamame and garlic edamame. If menu doesn't state it, don't tell me otherwise cause I know the difference between garlic and spicy garlic. Sorry but never going back. read more

Yellowtail Lover Roll, Salmon Lover Roll, Smoked Salmon Nigiri and Salmon Nigiri were great. My wife loved the lasagna and Philadelphia rolls, as well as the Tuna Poki bowl. Each time we have been here it has not been that crowded, but that is good for the times we are living in now. I came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with their lunch specials. I ordered a bento box and it came with 6 options that were yummy and filling. The price was $10.00 and it was well worth it. The portions were good and the diversity of the options was also pleasing. I ordered as an appetizer the garlic endamame. I though the flavor was ok but a bit too spicy for my liking. Some of the pieces were a bit tough which makes me think it might have been raw. The flavor on them was good but I wish they were less spicy. The service was also good. We were the only people there which seemed a bit surprising. I would definitely go back here for lunch again and try their other offerings. They seem to have an extensive sushi menu which I an curious to try soon. read more

I went in for a to go order and aside from one table of customers I was the only patron. I ordered a Lisa Lisa cut roll and a YumYum hand roll with either rice or soy paper rather than Nori. The person taking the order seemed unfamiliar with the differences in wrap options but I knew the sushi chefs would be more familiar. She said the order should be ready in roughly 15mins but more than likely sooner. I waited just over 30 mins and during this time two more parties came in. When I finally received my order she dropped off a new customers order prior to receiving mine. By now, I'm already annoyed but was just happy to finally have it. I walk out to my car open the order and of course the hand roll had Nori rather than what I asked for and the taste was less than impressive. The LisaLisa looked weak in appearance and had more cream cheese in it than anything not to mention was ice cold. I was so put out and upset I threw the order out. I'm not a confrontational person but I'm a firm believer in passing on bad experiences. If I could give zero stars they'd have that. I am beyond words disappointed for so many reasons. Find a Sushi Chef who actually cares about their craft and make sure your staff is trained to handle the floor alone. Makes me sad, this was a place I would recommend but, that's changed now. read more

So today was our second visit and we wanted to try some new stuff. Started with garlic edamame, yum! Also had the peach Hana sake. If you aren't a big sake drinker (we aren't) this is the one for you. It was sweet and crisp. Very tasty. We loved the golden california and mega bucks so we got those again. Plus we decided to do some nigiri pieces. So impressed! We did garlic tuna, salmon, yellowtail, red snapper, garlic salmon, tuna and smoked salmon. Nigiri is where it's at! The smoked salmon was just so fantastic. You can taste the smokiness. Mmmmm. The garlic tuna to me was better than the garlic salmon. Overall with the nigiri even the pieces I didn't like a lot were still delicious. Such a great place for sushi! So happy we found them. As for service bc I've seen some negative reviews we have had great service both times. Very friendly waiter who recommended some good stuff to us this time. Our family has been loyal customers of the Sushi for several years. After today, we won't be back. The service was worse than I've ever had anywhere! We sat and watched as the 2 servers just looked at their phones. They didn't refill drinks or check on our tables unless we asked for something. Once the food started coming out, we realized something was different. Rolls didn't look or taste the same. We didn't get ginger or wasabi until we asked for it. One of our kids didn't get his food until everyone else was done eating. We asked about it twice. Both times we were told it was in the oven. You might want to invest in a new oven if it takes 45 minutes to cook unagi. We assume it was forgotten. I'm sad that this place isn't being managed properly. There are very few good restaurants in the area and this used to be our favorite. We will be looking for a new sushi restaurant. read more
