Fifteen years later and I still love this place! I've been dining at I Love Sushi for over 15 years, and it truly never disappoints. It's one of those restaurants that has become a tradition for our family, and every time we visit we're reminded why it's always packed. There has been a recent change in ownership, and they now offer an all-you-can-eat menu. I'll admit I was hesitant at first because sometimes AYCE sushi can mean sacrificing quality. Thankfully that is not the case here at all. The quality is just as good as it's always been. We started with the garlic edamame, which is always a great way to kick things off. From there we ordered steamed gyoza, yellowtail, yuzu salmon sushi, and then took advantage of one of the best parts of the all-you-can-eat menu... you can order half rolls. This makes it so easy to try a variety of different rolls without committing to full ones. That said, the one roll I will never order as a half is the Flower Roll. It's been my favorite here for years and is an absolute must every time we visit. Our waitress also recommended trying the Irish Roll, which was new to us and ended up being excellent. We'll definitely be ordering that again. We also tried a half Candy Cane Roll, which was another great option. One of the reasons we keep coming back, beyond the food, is the service. Because we've been coming here for so long, the staff recognizes us and they are always incredibly kind and welcoming. It really adds to the experience. This restaurant is almost always packed, and there's a very good reason for that. The food is consistently great and the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. A couple other menu items worth mentioning: The Joe Special is fantastic (even though we didn't order it this visit), and my daughter always loves the Niku Udon noodles. As a local to this neighborhood for 30 years I was shocked at the changes with a local favorite : - service was rushed and brought out food out of sequence, slamming dishes and food out as fast as they could. - ordered the Hibachi combination and it was brought on a hot plate like They were fajitas...that's not hibachi. -ordered appetizers brought out AFTER our main meal -bus boys slamming dishes next to our tables - and last Sad part...they have literally removed seating at the "sushi counter" and installed tables right up to the counter. So if you want to order Sushi at a sushi counter you can't get this here - I am deeply saddened by this honest review of a once local favorite of mine living here for 30 years. Went the other night and it was fine. They have an all you can eat as well as ala cart menu. We did ala cart. The basics are what we ordered because I felt they would turn those types of fish faster! The food was decent. Nothing that blew my skirt up but good. For some fun rolls and a little tuna or salmon I would go back. And as the night went on they did get busy. We Love I love sushi. Freshest sushi with the best staff and service. Everyone is always so polite and helpful. We have to modify some rolls and its never a problem. We absolutely recommend it. Always clean and just a chill vibe. I always forget to take a photo because we cant wait to eat it. The Hawaiian roll is our fav, but also the peppered tuna plate, a good veggie roll is always a must and the rainbow roll. Seriously you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. I loved this place!!! We got so many different roles it was insane!! Lots of different names for sure it's hard to even remember because we got a lot, but all I know is they were all cooked and fried to perfection! Their crab and cream cheese fried one was my favorite with the eel sauce most definitely! The service was fabulous!! They were very very sweet and kept the refills of my Dr. Pepper coming! We mentioned we were going to see a movie after and they were VERY sweet and super fast with everything! It's one of the best spots in Vegas even though this location is located in Henderson, I absolutely loved it!! The ambiance is a little more upscale, they are a late night restaurant so if you have plans for this make sure you come for dinner! :) they also have one of those really cool bars you can sit at in the middle where they make the roll in front of you I noticed! There are no bar seats which was a bummer as we arrived early to dinner and we wanted a drink before our party arrived. We had 2 servers and one took care of one side and the other on the other side. Food: Spicy Tuna Roll 2 Item Bento Box- Teriyaki Beef & All Shrimp Tempura Washed down with a glass of wine The spicy tuna was fresh but I personally didn't like the sesame seeds. The Teri Beef was tender and good in flavor. I made a mistake with my order. I should have kept the shrimp and vegetable tempura instead of ordering all shrimp. Bummer. They really should change the name because nothing about the current state of the restaurant resembles what this place used to be for years. It was alright. I came here with my date for the night because she gave this place a rave review to me; she was very impressed with their edamame, especially. Now, I do consider myself a Sushi connoisseur, so here's my take on I Love Sushi: Upon entry I noticed there were too many employees for such a quaint little place. It felt kind of awkward when walking in and there are employees literally in our way to get seated, and half of them are standing around just chatting. The lights were very low, as you will see in my pictures, and not one single Asian making the food. What? Now, lets's get to the food. I ordered a few appetizers- calamari, baked mussels, and spicy garlic edamame. The edamame were AMAZING! Unfortunately, they were the highlight of our meal.. I found my baked roll had too much mayonnaise and it didn't taste like the traditional Qewpie that quality sushi spots use,. Also, something tasted funny in my Salmon Lemon roll and our waitress was hella annoying, although she was a nice person. I felt like they were not letting me eat! Something that really bothered me when they brought each plate was that the waitress made it a point to move my plates that I was eating from to place the new plate on the table. I just arranged them where I wanted them! She would also reach across my food and plates while I was eating. That was really rude and frustrating. We really liked the food, and the restaurant itself was quite spacious for a sushi place. We didn't have to wait at all and got our table as soon as we walked in. However, the service was a bit slow. Upset to know I come here all the time & never had an issue until a few days ago. This is my favorite sushi spot in Henderson so I was very happy to see they finally added AYCE to their menu. The price is $33.95 for adults and $16.95 for children. Almost everything is included, minus only a handful of things. My daughter was very happy to be able to get everything she wanted without having to settle on just one thing. The restaurant is great however very loud so don't go in expecting a quiet sit down dinner but as a parent it's great because the kids have fun and can enjoy not having to sit there quiet and bored. The food is always great, very fresh, great quality ingredients. However be patient if you go during a busy time, we waited about 15-20 minutes in between rounds. Our server was friendly just very slow. Came out to sushi for what was supposed to be a special night. Our server "Kelly Clark" was terrible. She carried this demeanor as if she wanted nothing to do with us. First, she approached as if she wasnt happy to see us, very unwelcoming. I would even understand if the place was packed but she had 1 2 top out of us being a 2 top for a total of 2 tables and 4 people... Then she makes a comment about me moving chairs. I wanted to sit closer to my date. My date apologized and the server responded sternly "Dont say sorry.". I watched her go back to the sushi bar to joke and smile ear to ear with the sushi chefs. Only to return to our table with the same unwelcoming demeanor. She looks at the empty glass of water and asks if I want more, yells at someone across the restaurant to bring water, and refills my glass with room temperature water with no ice. My biggest issue was the fact that I clearly ordered a few rolls first, then all Nigiri because I didnt want to fill up on rice. Keep in mind I am looking at the menu and pointing to what I want. A roll that was not ordered came to our table. I was not going to eat it, I didnt order it. When I let her know I didn't order that roll, She tells me its the same thing as the nagiri, as if I was supposed to be okay with the portion and item served. We then order more nagiri and this time she reads our order back to us. At the end when I ask for the check, she looks up set, staring at the roll that I didnt eat. My date informs her that there was obviously some miscommunication but the roll was not going to be eaten because it was never ordered. She proceeds to tell my date "Well next time, you will know the difference between a roll and sushi." I was absolutely mortified. My date and I both work in the service industry doing the same job everyday and would never treat a guest like this EVER. Completely ruined our first sushi experience after the 4 years of us not seeing eachother. I will never recommend here, nor will I ever return to eat here. I did the All You Can Eat and it was absolutely worth it! Every roll was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The fish was high quality--melt-in-your-mouth good--and the variety on the AYCE menu was impressive. I especially loved the spicy tuna handrolls and some of their fun specialty rolls like the Kitchen Sink and Sexy Time Special--creative names with bold flavor to match! Service was fast and efficient. Even though it was busy, everything came out quickly, and the staff made sure we were well taken care of. Another establishment pretending to be Japanese. As a Japanese person, I was offended that their servers are wearing kimono in such a sloppy and incorrect way. The way the collars are worn is how a corpse is dressed. Some people were wearing bath robes. Worse than costumes. The rice was terrible. Hard and flaky, cheap quality rice. I already knew it was going to be bad when I walked in (based on decor and how the kimono were worn) so I didn't even order the sushi. I got the saba and vegetable tempura. What came out almost made me choke. A HUGE ball of rice battered and deep fried, covered in sauce. I've never seen anything like it in my life and it was disgusting. At least the saba and tempura vegetables were edible. My mother in law's "teriyaki" chicken was dry and hard. Salad was covered in too much dressing. Miso soup was way too salty with the tiniest little pebbles of tofu. My husband's sushi came smothered in sauce so it just fell apart when picked up. I've been coming to this family owned restaurant for the last 16 years. They never fail to disappoint. The food and Sushi here is excellent. Great portion sizes and the food is always fresh and flavorful. The dining area and bar is very spacious. They also have nice size booths that accommodate larger groups as well. 6/19/24 I was told that I Love Sushi has yummy rolls, and after eating here tonight, I agree. Today, we ordered Salmon Kama, Miso Soup, Salmon nigiri, Japanese Lasagne, and a Monkey Roll. First to come out was actually a complimentary edamame, it was the right amount of salty! Next to come out was the Miso Soup, and it was a bit more on the funkier, stock-ier side. The Monkey Roll and Japanese Lasagne came out next. The Monkey Roll was so good! It was huge though, but there wasn't too much cream cheese, the flakes were a good touch of crunchiness, and the mango was a ~sweet~ touch. The Japanese Lasagne had a little bit too much cream cheese, but it was also on the sweeter side. Overall, I enjoyed this first visit with food to fulfill my sushi craving, good service, and a cute environment, and I look forward to returning to try more rolls. We ordered a Mexican Roll, and it was good -- essentially just a spicy California Roll. We ordered an Irish Roll, and it was very sweet and juicy -- still good but were probably the rolls that were heaviest on our stomachs. We got a Ryan's Special, and it was probably the second heaviest roll but with less sweetness and more crunch than the Irish Roll. Lastly, our favorite roll today was the Sunset Roll! It was the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and I will hopefully be ordering this again in the future. The service was slow and confused, they told us that they had recently become AYCE so that was why the menus were all over the place and disorganized. There were also a lot of exclusions to the AYCE menu that you don't find at other AYCE locations. As well, the waitress made sure to tell us that the fish they use for the AYCE is a lower quality fish than they use for customers who just order a la carte. For the most part the rolls and everything were tasty, except the nigiri, which definitely lacked in quality, especially the mackerel, which was foul and still had skin on it. They also give you a 90 minute time limit, which was enough for us to order just twice since the service was so slow. They definitely need to improve the AYCE experience. My husband recommended I love sushi from a family friend. We stopped in yesterday around 5pm. The all you can eat was $35 which was a better deal than getting everything a la carte. The garlic edamame 10/0 amazing! I ordered a candy cane roll and the other one I can't remember the name but it was a coconut shrimp roll. Both were very good. The candy cane one came with a special sauce I didn't care for because it was very vinegary but makes sense with fish. The menu is huge it took me a miniature to go through all the rolls . I absolutely love this restaurant. Their rolls are bigger than those at other restaurants, and the quality of their fish is top-notch. I highly recommend the Sexy Time Special, which is crispy rice with micro greens and spicy tuna with a Spicy Mayo/Eel Sauce mixture. SO GOOD! They do AYCE and allow half rolls for any that are larger than 6 pieces. My only critique at this time is that on Sundays, they don't open until 4 PM, which has caught us in a bind more than once. They get busier in the evenings, so lunch time is usually the best time to go if you're looking for quicker service.
