Fried Brussels and whipped sweet potatoes

Food: we went to downtown Deland to visit a family member who lived on that side of town and went to dinner at the Table due to menu options. We got the rigatoni and added shrimp, the pork osobuco, and the short ribs. We also got whipped sweet potatoes and fried brussels. The sweet potatoes weren't really whipped though, probably more like mashed. Pros: flavors were fantastic (in my opinion perfectly seasoned but one of the people in my party needed cheese on the pasta), pork was TENDER, shrimp was delicious. the sides were great and enjoyed how they were small portions! Cons: the short ribs was alittle tough, risotto was delicious but not a traditional Arborio rice. Mild mushroom flavors! Service: our server was super busy and was juggling the bar as well! We do wish that she had asked if we would like anything else before she brought our checks, since we took a peak at dessert posted on the hostess stand and they looked fire! We didn't want to seem too needy since we could tell they were getting busy too. Ambiance: decor is nice but overall dusty. The table we sat was by the window and had dust all around the corner, when we opened the silverware dust would fly around. I noticed another table near us with a person constantly sneezing as well. If I lived close, perhaps I would take the food to go next time. But for dine in, the experience was mediocre

We went for the bottomless brunch Sunday and was very disappointed. Our waiter was nice but seemed to be the only one so was a little distracted. We were served champagne for our mimosas with no glasses so had to wait and track him down for some. Our food was good but none of it came out hot,almost like it had been sitting out?? We were told we couldn't do that omelette bar bc the cook had called out which was fine but disappointing. We got the saddest looking bruschetta we've ever seen with no balsamic like it states on the menu , when we asked the food runner about it he acted annoyed and stated that's how it comes ... so we read it back what the menu says. We then ordered tots which says it comes with ketchup on the menu but it was missing so when we asked for it the girl food runner was SOOO incredibly rude we felt so uncomfortable, when she brought us the ketchup she wouldn't even look at us or acknowledge us when we said thank you. We didn't want to continue ordering food bc we just felt the vibes were very off. I've came here before for dinner downstairs and never had any issues so was very disappointed with our experience. Our server tried his best to give us a good experience but it was ultimately the food runners who were so rude and the cold/room temp food that made us want to leave. Would not come back again for brunch

Patrick was a very considerate and kind server. I believe he was embarrassed by several mistakes from the kitchen, including the very sad looking Mahi tacos. One person in our party, took one look at the tacos and went back and changed her order to the chicken pot pie. The appetizers of cheese, curds, and salmon crostini's were excellent and the bottomless mimosa was a good deal. It's definitely a very cute place, but this Sunday service was quite slow.

This is my second time at The Table - and I am not impressed. I first tried them for brunch a week ago on a Saturday - they serve it tapas style which is strange - I got their chicken and waffles, shrimp & grits and fried chicken with pepper jelly - the only noteworthy dish was the pepper jelly which paired well with the chicken I decided to try them again and - . I had dinner here tonight - there is a lack in attention to detail - the table they seated me at was wet . I ordered the braised beef with risotto - the beef itself was cooked well with good flavor but the risotto was overcooked to the point where I wondered if it was grits. I ordered a guava margarita And I have yet to taste the margarita - half of the salt was in the drink 1 I couldn't even finish it. I don't think I'll be back again as I'm sure downtown Deland must have better food offerings than this. I was so disappointed I went to the Deland artisan fair and was able to get some really decent food after.

We haven't been here in over 5 years. Surprised to find they've moved down stairs to a dark, cave like room. Maybe at night it has more ambiance, but at lunch it felt dark. Next time we'll opt for their outdoor dining patio. Be aware the stairs are steep. You have to call a number to access the elevator. The old space is only opened Friday-Sunday and is a cocktail/wine bar. The chicken pot pie was delicious as always. Bit enough to share. The chicken and cilantro rice bowl lacked enough cheese sauce to balance the textures. It was dry. I didn't even ask to take home leftovers. Service was slow, but very friendly. We weren't in a hurry so this was fine. Free parking one lot over. Closer parking will cost you.

Came in after a campus tour. I am an alumni and really missed Main Street grille but this place was cute. We were greeted and ata outside since nice out. We ordered drinks and apps the pink lady was yummy and not too sweet. Our server was honest and helped us pick our choices. The table tots were yummy and that sauce is delish didn't get a pic cause at so fast. We ordered fried chicken, the pot pie and the Asian tenderloin Tips. The fried chicken was boneless thighs and had great flavor the Mac and cheese was delish. The pot pie looked great and the crust was good. The flavor could have been more pronounced but it was decent. The tips were pretty and very tasty not really fried rice but still good We will def be back!!

We decided to stop in and try The Table again with another couple. What a great time! The menu has something for everyone and the restaurant is just so beautiful inside. They had a nice selection of wines and an interesting cocktail menu. One of us got the Old Fashioned and it was fantastic. Our meals were all delicious! However, the beef tenderloin tips were a bit dry and hard to chew. I would highly recommend trying the beef short rib or pork osso buco if you're looking for some really tender meat. Our waitress was wonderful - we never needed to ask for a refill and she was knowledgeable about the menu.

Service was amazing and food was decent. Everything seemed to need a tad of salt. Highlight of the night was the ranch for the cheese curds. I'm a ranch snob and this was an herbalicious delight. Wasn't a huge fan of the bbq... wasn't quite smoky or spicy enough to distinguish it from ketchup. Brussels are my hubby's fave so when we saw on the menu I knew we needed to split. I liked the main meal we split, meatloaf, mashed taters and green beans. Was a lot of food. We split plus brought some home. Again needed a bit of salt but the veggies were delish! Great ambience and would love to come back to try their salads as they all looked amazing.

Their brunch was TERRIBLE for an assortment of reasons. First, the location of the restaurant is down a very long set of small steps. Once you actually find the restaurant, it is fairly large with lots of seating and nice enough. They only allow one fixed price of $30 per person for all you can eat brunch. They do not allow an a la carte option to just chose an entrée or single item for brunch. So we did the all you can eat. They have a pancake station and an omlette station, plus all of the items off the menu you can order. The menu description of items was terrible! It would say an item comes with sauce, but not describe what the sauce actually was. When we asked the food runner they had no idea and said "It looks like white sauce to me". Another example was that they had a loaded brunch casserole with no description of what is was loaded with. The bruschetta was pathetic. Literally one ball of mozzarella thrown onto an entire slice of regular white bread toast! Look at my photo for reference, it will give you a laugh. Our server was attentive and that was about the only positive I can give.

Only 2 vegan entrees and neither is very good. Found a large black rock in the farmers daughter and waiter didn't offer a refund or even apologize. Cocktail was terrible. Going here was a big mistake I regret. Honestly would rather just get the vegan option at Chipotle or Burger King. read more

The food was delicious. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Came out perfect couldn't stop eating it till I was over stuffed. The only con was the long wait for food. We arrived around noon. Took about 30-40 min for 2 brunch dishes and a yogurt parfait. My almost 2 year old refuses the parfait ( it was very tasty from the bites I took) but the waitress was kind and removed it from our bill. read more

You have to be Sherlock Holmes or do your "homework" to find it but when you do, wow! If you're lucky, ask for a seat in the courtyard by the waterfall! There's a steep set of stairs down to the restaurant once you find it, but if you're lucky enough to find a parking space in the lot next to the building entrance, way in there, there's an elevator that will take you down to the restaurants service area with access to the restaurant. We were quickly seated for a Saturday morning brunch ... inside. Outside seemed like they were saving the tables for larger groups. The single woman in front of us wanted a table outside for 1, outside, & was told it was a 45 minute wait. INSIDE there were plenty of tables for 2-6 people and also seating at the bar. The brunch is $25 per person with a great list of appetizer sized offerings. We tried everything on the menu! We had nothing to complain about with any of the servings. We also had a "loaded" Bloody Mary" each ($24 for 2) and they could have used more booze and the "loaded" wasn't all that. It's a nice, upscale, restaurant and our waitress, Mariah, was THE BEST! Total bill was $78.62 for 2, but as I had said, we tried everything on the brunch menu! read more

We had our first ever corporate event at The Table on January 20th. It was fantastic. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was great and the service was incredible. Jesse & Heidi, the owners, were fantastic to work with. They were open-minded, creative and exceeded my expectations. I had vague ideas and they brought them fruition. My co-workers were blown away by the whole night and I came out looking like a hero! I look forward to hosting future events at The Table! read more

We had great communication with Heidi, who reserved our table as the number of guests kept changing. Our server was friendly, informative, and patient as we chatted for a bit before we were ready to order. Drinks came out promptly. Everyone at our table of 10 enjoyed their food. I was grateful that there were healthy dishes and not just the same tired offerings I see everywhere these days. Our one complaint is that after our food was delivered, the server never came back. Not to ask how things were, not to take a dessert order, nothing, until she brought the check quite a while later. We were celebrating a special occasion and would have ordered dessert. She also did not offer a take-home container for one in our party who obviously needed it. It was just strange to be ignored for 45 minutes, and left wondering when the check would arrive. Then when it did, the tip had already been added because were were a large group. OK, I get it, the server should not be stiffed. We are generous tippers anyway. But I had to wonder, would she have been more attentive if she weren't assured of her tip? We would have added more to the 20% if she hadn't forgotten us. read more

Very nice dinner offerings nice mellow atmosphere. Service was really slow for our food the server was right there to keep your cocktails full. The wedge salad was huge with crispy bacon yellow and red cherry tomatoes and a nice ranch dressing the brisket stroganoff was awsome top notch flavor in the beef and sourcream sauce with button mushrooms and finshed with fresh augella which was a nice touch the top shelf margarita had awsome flavor but served in a rocks glass which left it very small compared to a traditional margarita read more

My out of town bestie and I attended "The Taste of Deland" event, and we decided to try The Table for dinner. It was our favorite out of all the vendors with their shrimp and grits. So to dinner we went. Started with the Cheese Curds. You won't be disappointed. We shared the Fried Chicken Dinner and the Short Rib Stroganoff for dinner. The Fried Chicken dinner was so good. Boneless Skinless Thighs... Fried Chicken style topped with a 3-pepper jelly was so good. Served with a huge portion of Mac n cheese. The short rib stroganoff had great flavor. Not enough sauce for my liking so ask for extra sauce. I did get a side of sour cream which did the trick. Menu is very affordable. We split the check and 2 cocktails each, an appetizer, and 2 entree was $31 each. The next morning my bff and I were looking for a brunch spot and decided to head back to The Table for their Sunday Buffet Brunch. I am not a buffet kind of person, but WOW I was impressed. The $5 mimosas come in many flavors. Everything I tried was so good. Even more happy that the Fried Chicken was on the buffet. Some of my favorites were the Brussel Sprouts, Gouda Cheese Grits, the Biscuits and Gravy were better than home made. I normally avoid the biscuit as they tend to be dry, but not these. Buttery, flakey and made from scratch and the gravy was excellent. Made to order omelet station available too. I could have gone back for more! read more

This was our first time here, decided upon after a random google maps search. The ambiance is delightful. The food was amazing. We had short ribs; shrimp and grits; and kids mac n cheese with fruit. All were very flavorful and filling. Just right portions. The mac n cheese was a blend of real cheeses and flavorful as well. Worth the drive to this hidden gem. Bonus: walking downtown Deland (aka exhaust a toddler). read more

Not good. I have no idea how this place has good ratings. I had the fried chicken. It was very greasy. The Mac and cheese it came with had zero taste and was cold. Even after I sent it back for being cold it was still horrible. My wife had a burger that was just way over salted and was gross. Definitely would not recommend. read more

We stopped here for lunch and oh what a find! The steak sandwich with house made horsey sauce is phenomenal. It was served with homemade fries in a unique shape perfectly seasoned. Yum yum. At the waitress's recommendation we ordered deep fried cauliflower that was served with house made salt and pepper jelly and it was delicious. Loved this place. read more

I'm giving three stars because the food was just ok. I feel like they try to be more fancy than what they really are. The food was bland, but it was fresh. We had fried green tomatoes with tomato jam and goat cream cheese. Different to say the least. I'm not saying the restaurant is bad, just missing that zing. The food really seems over priced. Cute spot in town. It was a only one visit for me. read more

I always like to travel to different places to eat with my wife away from the normal franchise. Today we traveled to downtown DeLand,FL and stopped at a place called The Table. For starters my wife had Heirloom Tomato Tart full of wonderful flavors and I had Shrimp & Grits this by far has to be the best appetizer I have had. Wonderful flavors especially the 3 Pepper Jelly. Entree my wife had the Pimentón Seared Salmon. A Scottish Salmon # Heirloom Tomato Garlic Relish, Chorizo & Kale Hash. I had Chicken and Waffle. I would definitely come back again. Thanks to Christina the waitress she was helpful. Amber the manager for coming to our table to speak on behalf of the owner. read more

After a tour at the Stetson Mansion. My family and I couldn't help but overhear the other tourists talking about The Table. We got in easy with 7 people and all had the best meals we have had in awhile. The fried chicken was incredible and everyone was so nice and helpful. Isabella took care of all our needs. Let me start with a positive the service was outstanding I would hope every restaurant would have a server that was a attentive as we had. The bar drinks were excellent I had a bloody Mary and my wife had the Mimosa which were as good as any we've had before. We had brunch so that we could sample different dishes the only dish that we even finished what is the French toast soufflé. Every dish after that was mediocre at best. Every dish that should've come out at least warm was cold. The flank steak with vegetables was tough and stone cold. Would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Nestled in downtown DeLand, this place does not disappoint. Admittedly, I've only visited during their dinner series. Went to both the bourbon dinner and the beer dinner. The food was top notch and the drinks were plentiful. Definitely planning to visit for brunch soon and am keeping an eye out for their next dinner series event (which will involve wine!). read more

Very good food. Not 5 star but very good. You won't be disappointed. The service was just ok. Servers need to be more aware of clearing tables along the way. Something ownership needs to improve is noise. This place can be so loud. They attempted to address it but they really have to step it up. Need lots more sound absorbing materials on all three hard surfaces on the walls, ceiling and floors. Overall we had a very nice experience. Highly recommend this place. read more

We stumbled into this place without looking it up in advance just to have a quick bite, and boy were we glad we did. The pork rinds and pimento cheese were an excellent appetizer,The pork rinds themselves were freshly cooked and perfectly seasoned, And the pimento cheese was like nothing I've ever had before - unique and interesting. The BLT Wedge Salad was also amazing and the crispy onions gave it a well balanced pizzazz. Kudos to Kyle who was a great server and had a nice personality! Highly recommended read more

I'm not a grits girl but the grits here are delicious, like my grandmother would have made had she made such things. I ordered the Breakfast Bowl sans gravy. Very satisfying. I would definitely come back and try other menu options. Comfy, clean, pleasant atmosphere, kind staff. Located in historic area. Worth a trip. In addition the breakfast fare they seem to have an interesting bar area. Open at 10am so not an early morning spot. They even have an event room. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in DeLand. The menu changes periodically, but there's some favorites that are always there like the meatloaf (which is always a safe bet). Whenever I have friends visiting, this is where I take them and I've never been disappointed. The service is good and the food can't be beat. read more

Best part of our visit was the cute outdoor patio with beautiful mosaic and water features. Unfortunately our food was lacking considerably. We started with the calamari which was extremely over cooked and practically inedible. There were also far more fried vegetables than edible calamari. Cheese curds were hot and tasty but also were overcooked in that the smaller curds had practically no cheese remaining inside. My scallops were warm (not hot) while the risotto was cold. My husband enjoyed the chicken pot pie. Our request for sides of asparagus and smashed potato's resulted in receiving brussel sprouts and French fries. By the time the issue was corrected, we were finished with our entrees. Service was ok but certainly not what I would expect from an upscale establishment. Disappointed to say the least. read more

Love. Love. LOVE this place! The food! The atmosphere! The drinks! The service!! The beautiful outdoor seating.. everything about this place screams class, comfort, calming, and caring! The Cobb salad is the best salad I've ever had. Period. The Sea Scallops and risotto are from heaven and Devon and Shelby are are a gift to this lovely business. Incredibly disappointed in the meal I had here. I see what they are trying to do with their modern rustic decor and spins on traditional comfort foods but it's just not working. My husband ordered the meatloaf and I had the pot pie. I was immediately skeptical when the entrees came to our table at lightning speed. Typically, when you have a pot pie you have to cut it open and let it sit and cool for a bit. When I cut the top open, there wasn't any steam which concerned me but I went in for a bite and was met with luke warm chicken and vegetables. It's as though they didn't even do their customer the courtesy of letting it sit under a heat lamp before serving me this $15 entree. My husband's meatloaf was dry and cold in the middle. An all around awful meal from start to finish. Read each review carefully and heed their warning. This establishment is neither worth your time nor your money. There are plenty of other options downtown that are worth it. I expect the doors to close on this restaurant within the year. read more

This establishment was once a beloved dining spot for my family and a highly suggested option for my short-term vacation rental guests. Unfortunately, it no longer meets the high standards I strive to uphold. During my recent visits, I encountered several concerning issues that have significantly impacted the dining experience. Firstly, the cleanliness of the restaurant has deteriorated. Dirty plates and utensils were a common sight, which is unacceptable for any dining establishment. Cleanliness is a fundamental aspect of hospitality, and this lapse is deeply disappointing. Secondly, the service has declined noticeably. The staff, who were once attentive and friendly, now seem disinterested and unresponsive. Long wait times and a lack of attention to detail have become the norm, which detracts from the overall dining experience. The atmosphere, which used to be warm and inviting, has also suffered. The ambiance now feels neglected and less appealing, which is a stark contrast to the vibrant environment we once enjoyed. This change has made the restaurant less enjoyable and welcoming. Most importantly, the quality of the food has declined. The dishes, which were once flavorful and well-prepared, now lack the same level of care and taste. This decline in food quality is perhaps the most significant issue, as it directly affects the core reason for visiting a restaurant. These combined factors reflect poorly on the hospitality experience I aim to provide for my guests. As someone who takes great pride in offering high-quality recommendations, it is disheartening to see such a decline in a once-favorite establishment. I sincerely hope that The Table Restaurant can address these issues and return to its former glory. Until then, I regretfully cannot recommend it to my guests. I look forward to the day when I can once again suggest this dining establishment with confidence. read more

Wow! Just Wow! I realize the reviews from months ago might be a detourant but these people have really gotten their stuff together since they've opened. Every new business needs some time to work out the kinks. To start we ordered the Charcuterie board and a special they were offering: salmon croquettes. Both were delivered promptly and extremely tasty. The salmon croquettes were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. For entrees we ordered the fried chicken and shrimp & grits. The fried chicken was chicken thighs!! SCORE!! They were so tender and cooked to perfection. They put a pepper jelly on top that melted all throughout the 4 generous pieces of chicken. This was quite possibly the best fried chicken I've ever tasted! The shrimp & grits were a generous portion of grits and 6 shrimp. The seasoning was devine - the sauce had a little kick to it - but goodness gracious it was an amazing flavor sensation! At the end our server Emily brought over a tiered tray of miniature desserts. You could pick and choose right there on the spot for instant gratification! We enjoyed the Bourbon Pecan Pie and Key Lime Pie. All in all, we had an extremely pleasant dining experience at The Table and will definitely be back! read more

I was really looking forward to dining at The Table, but unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. From the moment we sat down, our waitress seemed rushed and uninterested in providing a good experience. She barely gave us time to place our order, closing her notebook and walking away before we could finish speaking. When we asked for coconut shrimp, she vaguely responded, "If I have it, I'll bring it to your table," but we never heard back about it. To make things worse, after making us feel rushed to order, she completely ignored our table for the next 40 minutes--no drink refills, no check-ins, nothing. We eventually left after no service for the next 10 minutes. It's disappointing when service takes away from what could have been a good meal. I hope management takes note and improves staff attentiveness and customer care. read more

Okay, I'm new to this so bare with me. I called up these people to see what kind of "quarantine cuisine" I could get my hands on. To my surprise, from a seemingly southern comfort food restaurant they had an asian, Mongolian beef dinner option. Listen, I know just what you're thinking "Mike why would you get asian food from a not asian restaurant?" Well, I like to live a little. That's why. Now i'm no shill, I can't say its the best Mongolian beef I've ever had but its surprisingly close, especially being from a restaurant of this variety. Which earns extra points if you ask me. Finally, its not all about the food, the lady I spoke to both on the phone and upon entering the place was really nice and chill. There wasn't a fake smile now, germ X later feel to it, I really enjoyed the interaction. read more

It has a great breakfast buffet.. on Sunday only. They open at 10Am which I thought was weird for a restaurant that hypes it's chicken and waffles. Other than that it is probably one of my favorite places to eat. Their bar is second to none. Their bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's are super delish and they aren't kidding they really do serve you all day in $15. My wife and I once had breakfast at 10:30, shopped all day and went back at 2 for lunch and a group was still there from that morning. They were shitfaced and still getting their mimosas. Decided on this place after much debate, for a dinner option to pick up and take home. In contrast to the trying times we're currently engulfed in, the staff I talked to both on the phone and in person were lovely! Almost made me forget I wasn't allowed to get too close. Anyways, I ordered the shrimp and grits dinner special and was the furthest from disappointed, the grits were perfect in texture and combined with the accompanying flavors very well. Will definitely come back before long, and hopefully take in the full restaurant dining experience soon. read more

I enjoyed the food and so did the others I was with, however the cocktails are very small for the price they charge and they serve tap water which is like drinking highly chlorinated pool water. The staff needs a little more training on how to check back often etc. my husband and I have been back a few times since the last review and I have to say that with the menu change and the better tasting water and the service improving it is now on our list of places to go. read more

We were in town for a wedding and family reunion, the Sunday brunch is amazing, best items were the fried chicken and surprisingly the brussel sprouts, they also have amazing biscuits, bacon, fresh fruit, and an omelette and pancake station. We will definitely go back and recommend this to anyone. read more
