Although the drink was already prepared at the bar, it still took more than 25 minutes for our server to bring it to the table. The appetizers also took about 25-30 minutes to arrive, and during that time our server was neither accommodating nor communicative. At a restaurant, guests should expect attentiveness and clear communication. Instead of us having to repeatedly ask about our food, the server simply stated that the appetizers took longer because they were roasted. A better approach would have been to keep us informed explaining that the kitchen was running behind or offering an alternative to improve our experience. When our breakfast arrived, it was also disappointing. The server never asked how we wanted our eggs cooked, and they came out undercooked and runny. Additionally, we had to request basic items such as salt, pepper, and ketchup. These are things a thoughtful server would normally ask about in advance, along with checking on how the food tastes and whether anything else is needed. First impressions are important, and unfortunately, this one fell short. Four of us went for a girl's Sunday brunch to celebrate 2 birthdays. First of all, I have to commend our server. He was the BEST!! He took our experience over the top with his humor, personality and service. We loved him. Since we were celebrating, the 2 birthday girls each got a glass of champagne. The other 2 of us didn't really want a glass but wanted to toast, so he brought us each a glass with a sip in it so we could cheer our friends. What a sweet gesture!! The food was delicious. When the birthday girls were debating between the French toast or the Fried chicken biscuit, We let them know that the chicken and biscuits came in 2 pieces and it would be easy for them to share both, which is what they did. And they were very happy! The carnitas eggs Benedict were delicious, as were the accompanying roasted fingerling potatoes. My friend had the Breakfast burger, and it was cooked exactly as she requested, with a medium well burger and over hard egg. The desserts were spectacular! The banana bread which I would never think to order, was so good, with the brûléed banana. And the birthday girls were given cake pops with candles. The restaurant itself is so creatively and colorfully decorated. We loved it! Several different seating areas, comfy bar area, great art and lighting. All in all, a wonderful celebratory brunch. On the bright side, omelette and the vegetables beneath it were adequately seasoned, providing a nice balance of flavors. One aspect of the dish that I found disappointing was its greasiness. It seemed that the excess grease might come from hash browns. While I enjoy a bit of crispiness in my hash browns, the amount of grease on the plate was a bit overwhelming and detracted from the overall enjoyment. AMAZING! No wonder this place is always packed. I'm picky and there was not one thing the Table did wrong. We arrived 45 min early so we can visit in the bar with friends. I had a delicious Tequila cocktail and I have to say they definitely don't skimp on the alcohol. The rest in our group ordered beer. Everyone was happy with the taste and selection. My dinner, from the bread with the olive oil and creamy ricotta (who would have thought?) to the Caesar salad that was done to perfection and finally to my Steamers that were in the tastiest broth I have even had, the Table was PERFECT! And everyone at our table agreed. I heard them ooh-ing and ah-ing over the watermelon soup, wilted kale salad, and steak tartare appetizers, and then again over their sea bass and NY Steak. And then there's the wait staff. I can't leave a review without mentioning them. They were perfect too. Finally, I was pleasantly surprised by our bill. With drinks, appetizers or salads, and dessert, it was about $60 per person. We brought our own wine which kept the cost down. Tip of the hat to the management, the chefs and the wait staff for making our night so very special. We will most definitely be back. Please keep the Steamers on the menu for me! read more

Had dinner at the Table during the soft opening a few weeks back with an old friend. The inside was very sparsely decorated but nice. The open floor plan was pleasing and allowed almost everyone in the place to be seen from almost any other table. Parking looked tight, but plenty of parking exists in the new mall across the street. Drinks at the bar were excellent, the pour was generous (someplace between a Dry Creek Grill pour, which is almost nothing, to an Irish Pub, which is a triple). Bartender was very nice. Appetizers at the bar were excellent, lamb and deep fried hush puppies were excellent. When seated, our table was comfortable and the server was excellent, brining water, bread and our food out in a timely fashion. Drinks were never out too long before they were asked for refill. The chef and parter came around table to table to check on food, etc. That was a nice personal touch. The food was excellent and upscale for San Jose. I could not help but feel like the large windows gave the restaurant a "downtown" feel. The portions were on the small size, but nevertheless adequate and of excellent quality, taste and very fresh. One of the best restaurants in Willow Glen! We came here on a Sunday night with a walk in party of 6 and they managed to seat us in under an hour! The hostess was very friendly and asked us if we were okay sitting on the patio (less of a wait) and assured us they had heaters to keep it warm. I've heard restaurants say this before, but they really meant it! A couple of my friends took off their jackets when it was freezing outside. The food was all great! They started out by giving us bread rolls, which we were told are made by Acme, and some ricotta in olive oil in place of butter. Both were great. Most of our party ended up ordering the seafood stew or a salad, and one person ordered a steak tartare. All of the food was spectacular, but perhaps a little bit salty? I'm not too sure, but I do know that everyone wiped their plates clean. The one qualm I have was the service was a bit slow? Our server didn't check on us that much, so while I am glad she was patient with us taking a while to order, we were ready and couldn't find her for a bit. However, it wasn't a big issue, and she was available most of the night to ask for the assorted spoon or dropped fork. Great place and highly recommend going! read more

We picked the parlor (simple discussion, Mammoths amusement was on in the bar (we checked the end), and basic wooden bar tables. Server astounded us with plate of Shishito Peppers while we were taking a gander at the menu. We adore Shishito - yet the grispy garlic hoists these peppers to another level. The bread was presented with ricotta in oil (what an extraordinary mix). Our gathering had brew, and three hand-poured mixed drinks (everybody was satisfied). We likewise had the treasure tomatoes were flawlessly salted and had brilliant flavors (alongside the bright mash from the radish) and an extremely healthy plate of two marrow bones (these are 7" creature). For the mains we attempted Rainbow Trout (my better half said they thumped this out of the recreation center), the "Burger" - superbly cooked and pleasantly done craftsman bun (yet the Burger didn't have any wow factor), the Buttermilk Browned Chicken - exceptionally fresh, no oil, and delicate chicken and the Braised Short Rib. read more

I've had the Table bookmarked for as long as I can remember. One, it's not easy to find great brunch places in the Bay Area and two, I've heard too many people recommend a visit for the novel menu, interesting entrees, and likable ambiance. We arrived early on a weekend brunch after some stellar tips from Beth W. and were very glad we did. This place is uber popular and if you arrive during busy hours, I can see the wait being quite extensive, especially for a larger party. There are no reservations for brunch on the weekend which makes it even more difficult to plan for, but attests to the popularity of the place. Local favorites Bill's Cafe and even SF transplant Crepevine are nearby, but it's clear that the Table is the foodie hotspot. The menu is a simple and concise one featuring savory, sweet, and a few eclectic items mixed in to add to the interest level (Scotch Egg, Bone Marrow). Everything features made from scratch items and everything honestly sounded delicious. The restaurant provides several pleasant details through their warm bread service at the beginning of each meal which enhances the upscale dining experience. The dining experience failed to match the pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. The burger failed to impress me because it lacked flavor and had an unusual taste profile. The potato wedges presented themselves as appealing but turned out to be raw and dense in texture. The excellent atmosphere and strong drinks at this establishment do not compensate for the inconsistent kitchen quality which makes the prices difficult to justify. The lighting is very comforting to the eyes and other senses. Since I've only been there once, I can only suggest the burger and fried chicken. So far, I found the food here appetizing. I inquired with the server and found out that the menu changes seasonally, they also have a few vegan dishes but is for another time with other people. The food is reasonably priced and if you are like me who drinks a lot as she eats, go with 12$ bottomless mimosa.
