Went here with my husband and his parents while staying in Hollywood for my sister's wedding. I had the grilled mahi tacos. They were pretty standard, but there were hardly any spices on the grilled fish. I got corn tortillas for my tacos, and the tortillas didn't look warmed or grilled first, so they fell apart very easily...it made eating the tacos whole nearly impossible. My husband's steak quesadilla was good, and so was my in-laws' enchiladas. Refried beans here are refried black beans, which I was not a fan of. One thing about this place: we didn't realize this until after our bill came, but THEY AUTOMATICALLY ADD 18% GRATUITY FOR PARTIES OF 4 OR MORE. This is a very deceptive business practice, especially since if you pay with a card, you still have the option of adding ADDITIONAL tip if you didn't read your check carefully. I'm not from around here, but if I'm in the area I probably won't go back to this tourist trap. read more

About average for this area. The drinks are premixed and fairly weak, which seems to be the standard. Where are the real bartenders? The tacos are so-so, they lacked the flavor I would expect for the price. While the ingredients may be fresh, the flavor seemed to fall flat. Great little spot for fast service! Got the fajitas with mahi mahi. Super tasty mahi and the fish was topped with green peppers, onions and cheese. Wish they gave us 4 tortillas then 3 because we ordered to split it between two of us. Also had a side of pico, sour cream, and a Verde mayo sauce. Also got a grilled corn on the cob. The location is right on the beach and they have a nice clean bathroom which I think showes they care about sanitation. read more

Best on the Broadwalk!! We learned early on during our six week stay that The Taco JOINT was the place to go!! While their competitor down the Broadwalk had a similar name, that's where the similarities ended. The ambiance is great!! Eat inside or outside, with a large open air patio and a great ocean view. They offer a diverse menu, and everything that we ate there was exceptional (best Queso and Enchiladas that I have ever had)!! And the service was always first rate, with the servers committed to providing you with a solid dining experience!! Lobster tacos and mahi mahi tacos were 5.0 stars. Mojitos were 4.5 and service was solid, but rice was maybe 3.0 and re fried beans were 2.5 (we had lobster tacos platter for $15.) Will definitely go back when in town again and try every taco! read more

I really loved all their seafood tacos due to they didn't meet our margaritas expectations we ordered in pitcher, I gave 4 stars. The margaritas taste more like run down cocktail drinks. We had to almost physically stop our waitress and even then, did not always get what we asked for. 2 kids in our party ordered fajitas but did not receive tortillas until we asked for them. Another person's burrito was not as ordered. Rice & beans were tasteless. However, the mahi mahi tacos and the roasted corn were absolutely delicious. My family and I were planning on going to a burger place for dinner but at last second, decided to go to The Taco Joint and we are so glad we did. The food, drinks, and service was great. My kids split a chicken quesadilla, my husband got the carnitas pineapple quesadilla, and I got the chicken burrito bowl. We were very happy with our meals and even had lots to take home. Avoid this place, unless you like poorly prepared food with comparable lazidazzicle service. I had the chicken taco platter and nothing was FRESH! "Roasted Corn 'elote'" was anything but roasted. It had no flavor after being boiled for what tasted like an eternity. One bite was all I could bear. Furthermore, old and dried is an appropriate description of the chicken and rice. Excellent every time we come here. Tonight my husband had a Pacifico and a chicken burrito. I had a frozen classic margarita with an extra shot, a lobster taco ($4.99 and a ceviche burrito ($3.99). I placed my order to go as I was at the beach and they said 15-20 mins (salsa and chips and 2 bowls) after 20 mins I checked with Jim and they had "lost" the ticket .. and he said, 10 more minutes... 25, 30mins go by and nothing... extremely messy service! All over the place, zero organization !! I also saw a lady very upset arguing with the guy at the register. I believe she was having the same problem! If you can avoid this, do it!! They kept saying to everyone "your food will be coming out soon", "your food is on the way".. guess I was not the only one having that problem! As far as the food goes, very average. We just stopped in for drinks. We weren't hungry but the food aroma smelled amazing! It was so tempting! The pineapple coco loco made inside a pineapple was delicious and pineapple presentation was nice! I personally love when you can taste some of the alcohol in a fruity drink. Wow, I went with the lobster tacos and it was on point! I'm glad we saved the best for last on our vacation. What's crazy is that I don't really like corn on the cob, but the way they make it is so undeniably good that I ate the whole thing! Prompt and friendly service. Excellent food and drinks that were priced well. They quickly accomadated our large group and were enjoying drinks and placing our order less than 10 minutes after sitting down. I had ordered ceviche for an appetizer that came in half a pineapple scooped out (that was a pleasant surprise) and the salmon tacos in a fried corn shell. Everyone in our group had tried different things on the menu and no one left without a full stomach and a smile on their face. I would definitely go back.
