I've been here twice and each time I've gotten my food to go. The street tacos are really good, the meat is juicy and the tortillas are delicious. The salsa is flavorful and a good level of spicy. Everything else that I've tried is good but only if you ignore how soggy the food gets. I live about 5 minutes from this location and by the time I get home the food is extremely soggy and cold even though it was just made fresh to order. I think the problem is the amount of cilantro and onions or salsa cruda they put on their food. I got the skirt steak burrito but it was hard to really enjoy it. The bottom of the burrito was so soggy that it started falling apart. The flavor was there but it really detracted from the experience. The same can be said about their Tijuana tacos and their mulitas. I'll give this place one more chance and order everything on the side next time. read more

Tacos were so good here and the pineapple salsa was so delicious even though it does have a kick. Burritos were ok. Tuesdays are busy since they have a special on Tuesdays but make sure to read the fine print as not all the tacos are on sale that day. Friendly staff and clean restaurant. Food Was usually good here and they're always so busy and bumpin , my issue is that I place an order online and have my boyfriend go pickup at the time it's supposed to be ready I ordered at 4:28pm to be ready For pickup at 4:48pm so my boyfriend went in and they tell him their system is down and that they didn't even receive the order so it's not ready, the girl didn't apologize she actually seemed annoyed with my boyfriend and just toldl him it'll be ready in 15 minutes. so we wait 15 more minutes for something I placed ahead of time so we wouldn't be late! Mind you I preordered cause we had somewhere to be at 5:30pm so waiting that extra time really was inconvenient for us, she didn't even offer a refund if that's something he'd want she just told him he'd have to wait, and mind you he didn't want to be difficult and make me go in for a refund with my card so he just came to the car and told me she said wed have to wait. Food is usually good but customer service has MUCH to be Desired... After reading some of the other, Key Word "RECENT REVIEWS" , I think that this is something that this business is becoming known for. Love when new things open near our home and was excited to try The Taco Man on Taco Tuesday :) First found out about this spot because it's next to our go-to Thai place, Riceberry. I saw they do deals for Taco Tuesday and decided to place an app order for pick-up. Food was about ready when I got there. Would liked to have dined inside, it was spacious, clean and chill. Their deal for Taco Tuesdays is $2 Street Tacos, $2 Chips and $2 drinks. We got a few of their street tacos, but I wish Asada was an option. Portions and flavors on the ones we did get were really good and they also have a pineapple salsa which is very very spicy, but for those that like the kick (like my husband) was very good. I also ordered their nachos, which was HUGE. I barely was able to make a dent. You can honestly order the nachos and share it with a group. It was a good price and big portion. Extremely disappointed and I can assure you this will be the last time I personally eat at taco man or get it catered for work. I went tonight (sep 7) My wife placed an online order at 6:10 (site said it would be ready 6:25-6:30) I arrived at 6:20 and walked up to the cashier and said pick up and used my wife's name as she placed the order. This is when things got odd, the Young lady behind the cashier told me that I didn't look like my wife's name. She mentioned they need to be sure the right person is picking up the order and asked for proof Anyway after all that they said they were behind and hadn't got to the order yet and it would be a few minutes because she kept saying how busy they were, but there was only 6 other people in the place. Anyways I sat down and waited patiently. Keep in mind I arrived at 6:20 Every few minutes I asked for an update and got told the same thing of "soon" Finally after waiting 40 minutes and seeing every person get their food and leave that arrived after me I got frustrated and told the cashier how is this possible She scrambled to the back and low and behold my order had been there the entire time. So I ask if it's been in the back for 40+ minutes won't it be cold? She then places her hand on the plastic bag and says : ugh it doesn't feel that cold" places it on the counter and walks away. I asked for a refund and was told it was not possible because I ordered on their website. I myself work in retail and understand being busy, but tbis was ridiculous, staff was rude. Of the 4 people there only 2 were cooking and again the restaurant never had more than 6 people in it. Finally after being tossed cold food, denied a refund and an hour of my time wasted I get home and our order is completely wrong and was ice cold. We asked for no onions and cilantro and you would have guessed we asked for extra cilantro and onions We've been coming here for years and supported their montclair location before it shut down. I've used their catering service and although the food isn't perfect, you could always count on them being reliable and respectful I can promise you I'll never support a taco man personally or have them catered for my business again Your better off going to del taco after this experience or supporting an actual family owned restaurant An absolute embarrassment of customer service I will be disputing the charges as I was denied a refund in person read more

Placed a catering order for 25 people and I was truly amazed with the outcome. Food was ready exactly on time. I didn't expect plates, napkins, utensils or serving spoons but they included everything! Everything was clearly labeled and so organized. And the food was a huge hit, everyone raved about the tacos. The meat is amazing. Juicy, flavorful, and abundant on their selections of choices to order. Al pastor street tacos are better than tacos el gordo. Absolutely love this place. Came in here after a workout because i did not want to pay chipotle prices for a good hearty meal. I got their Green Bowl and number one the presentation is phenomenal. Saw the "Big Donk" on the menu. It said it was 2lbs (they're lying to you) This hit me like a bass lure to me, I was hooked. When they handed me my bag I immediately got concerned. This burrito weighed 3.4lbs looked like it was on its 3rd trimester. I had to call State Farm and get life insurance before I started eating this. Finishing this would be like climbing Mt. We have ordered the burritos and both times they forget the guacamole green sauce and then they want to argue with you even as you cut your burrito in half to show them. These are expensive burritos. Tried ordering a Bowl and was told phone orders are with debit or credit card only. Hate when bad apples ruin a tree. Now I have to wait to go into order...wait for my food to be made...and then get back to work. That takes up almost 30 minutes which is halfway through my lunch. When it comes to carne asada, never have I had more tough meat, chewing beef jerky (or shoe leather) is right up there, although jerky has a nicer seasoning than Taco Man beef. Perhaps the beef was extended over its time on the grill. But make no mistake, beef gristle was definitely in the mix for the street tacos and burrito that I ordered, which, by the way, were ordered online and wasn't ready by almost over a half hour by the promised time. The woman who tried to pacify me with a free fountain drink didn't seem to consider this excessive overtime an issue. Maybe Taco Man is content with serving mediocre Mexican fare and employing careless help. April 17, 2024 Today, I was contacted by a representative of the Taco Man. They are concerned about my opinion and want to rectify my experience because they seem to very much care about their quality, which I find very refreshing. They have refunded my money, and they are hoping I can give them another try, which I am going to do. I really want to have a good taco place close to me. The fact that they reached out to me and wish to make it better is very impressive. They will be checking their employees and their meat suppliers for quality control.
