I've been enjoying the burritos at the taco stand. They used to be huge, fresh, and full of warm, homemade goodness. It had been a couple of months since my last visit, so I decided to order some. My husband isn't big on burritos, but I finally convinced him to try one. I was super excited for him to give it a shot, hoping it might change his opinion about burritos. Well, much to his pleasure--and not mine--it ended up changing my opinion instead. I don't know if they're under new management or what has changed, but the burritos were at least 1/4 to 1/3 smaller than what I'd had in the past. Worse, they were mostly rice! We ordered bean and cheese burritos, one of my favorite comfort foods. However, the burritos were tiny, with only a thin schmear of beans and cheese--barely noticeable. You had to search for it. Honestly, these should have been labeled "rice burritos with cilantro and onions." I can't express how disappointed I am. I spent $35 on two small rice burritos, a cheese quesadilla, and a cup of fideo soup. It wasn't even enough food to feed two children, let alone two adults! I feel completely taken advantage of and will never go back. I could have spent $10 at Taco Bell and gotten three times the amount of food. I have been to taco stand multiple times now. Many at this location, and once in houston. I will say this location exceeds the one in houston as far as service and quality. I would not get the fish taco again but everything else is amazing. The chicken, pastor, spicy green salsa, chips, and queso are my favorite things on the menu. To be clear and short. The food is good. It's practically what you'd expect from a taco truck in a diner fashion. The environment itself is unique and the service is spectacular given that it was open a few months ago. I recommend it to anyone who is in the mood to eat some Mexican style tacos and is down to have a good time. People can trash on it but personally, this place takes the cake and I haven't had any bad experiences at this location and their other location in the heights! Both great places and great food! We ate at this location yesterday. We ordered several beef fajita tacos, a supreme burrito and chips with queso. The fajita meat in our tacos was amazing! It had a great flavor to it and they pack your tortilla full of meat. We took some of the meat and added it to our queso. Everything was good. We will be back! Very nice, clean restaurant. read more

I tried this place today and was very disappointed. I ordered chicken quesadillas and queso and chips. I have to say this was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. The chicken was a dark mystery meat. I tried it but couldn't continue eating it. The queso was awful as well. There is a lot going on in their recipe and it was not to my liking at all. I'm normally a person who inhales queso, but this went into the trash. The quesadilla may go to the dog but I'm not sure he'll want it either. I'm sorry I spent $15 on that meal. read more

I've been waiting to try this and we were pretty disapointed. We ordered quite a bit so we can try a few different things.. we got 3 tacos, carne asada, pastor and carnitas and a bean burrito. Carne asada was pretty bland Pastor was not good at all and extremely greasy Carnitas was our favorite but mine had a ton of fatty pieces while my wifes didnt. Bean burrito was honestly the best thing we got. 6 tacos and a bean burrito was about 55 bucks. IF we go back it will only be for the bean burrito but probably not. read more

We have been excited to try this taco place. Finally we tried it today since we were in the area. We ordered 6 tacos total, 2 carne asada, 2 pastor, barbacoa, chicken, all on corn tortillas. We also ordered elote, queso, and salsa. Just by presentation the beef was odd looking and very thick, horrible taste. The pastor was greasy and had no flavor. The barbacoa left a bad taste in our mouths. Chicken was questionable and horrible taste. All salsa we tried had no flavor at all and no spice. The elote cup was full of water with no mayo, this was not elote just watered down corn. Queso also had no flavor. The $4 fountain drink was the best thing and this was a waste of $40.00. Well we didn't start off great. When ordering I asked if the aguas were from mix or if they were naturales. They girl taking the order noted they made them on site. As soon as I took my first sip i was disappointed and upset that the clerk lied. It was pure concentrated and very sweet. I dumped that out and just got some Dr. pepper from fountain. We got our tacos. The suadero was a disappointment. It was more desebrada like. If you had authentic suadero tacos their attempt is not close. The carne asada was better. It was ok. I did however like that the salsas were hot and not mild. Finally I had a pastor taco with pineapple added. That was the best of the 3 I had. My wife had the lengua and carne asada tacos with corn tortillas. She gave them a 7 out of 10. If I was to put numbers on what I had it would be the following: suadero-3 carne asada-6 pastor-8 limonada-0.Overall it was ok and service was fast. The cleaning crew were great because inside was clean and they picked up our trays as soon as we were done. Honestly I have had better tacos at local carnecerias that sell tacos.
