Like, you can't go back and edit your order, I didn't see the toppings for the tacos at first because you need to scroll down. I ordered the grilled chicken taco and the snapper taco. I got a combo and asked for refried beans and coleslaw. The tacos were good, a little bland, but I added the green salsa that she put on the table and that made them perfect. The coleslaw was a little sweet. I was hoping for a more traditional Mexican coleslaw with vinegar, so I didn't eat much of it. I got black beans instead of refried beans, but they were really good! I put a little on my tacos and they were delicious! I really like Mexican food. I try it wherever I go. I'm in town for the week and this place is we think walking distance from my hotel (the Westin). The servers are very nice. The inside is just an average hole in the wall. I had a wonderful lunch here yesterday! I ordered with their kiosk when you walk in the door and my food came out quick, not even 5 minutes. Restaurant was clean, plenty of seating. I had the 2 tacos combo, 1 carnitas, & 1 shrimp. The shrimp was almost overcooked, but not bad. The carnitas was my favorite. The meat was flavorful and juicy, but not greasy. I stumbled at The Taqueria on Broad and so glad for it. The pho restaurant I wanted to go to had a different close time online so I wandered here. The service is very good. The server was very helpful and recommended their specialty which is the tacos. I ordered the shrimp taco, fish taco and chorizo taco. I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful they were. The chorizo was very flavorful. The shrimp and fish were lightly breaded which I appreciated. I especially loved the shrimp taco. I also ordered the Mexican street corn which was also fantastic. They give you the lime to add to the dishes and I put it on the tacos and corn. I saw a gentleman eating a flan and asked if it is awesome as my Mom makes a fantastic flan. She said it's good but as with most people who say their Mom makes one of the best, she didn't want to touch it but she recommended the Tres Leches. She said it is an award winning cake and they purchase it for the restaurant. All I have to say is wow on this dessert. It is light and scrumptious. I'm glad she recommended it. Exceptional service and good food. The man at the counter was very informative and nice. I ordered the 2 tacos and 2 sides combo. I requested no feta cheese on the tacos and a side of black beans and guacamole. I was informed that the rice is cooked in chicken broth and the refried beans are not vegetarian friendly. I appreciate the transparency. To drink, I ordered a bottled water, and lucky me they have room temperature bottles available as well. The tacos were very good. The salsa verde they make is spectacular. The guacamole was top notch. The chips were good. The only thing that was sub par were the black beans. They just lacked seasoning. My friend wanted a strawberry empanada but they sold out while we were eating. The gentleman at the counter offered her a free peach empanada for the inconvenience. 5 stars for a really good downtown Mexican restaurant. My co-workers and I check out The Taqueria on Broad, located on Broad Street in the Fairlie-Poplar District (something I didn't know existed back in college, about once every 2 weeks. The shop has a decent amount of interior seating and moves pretty quickly in terms of ordering and getting food. When you arrive, you now look up and see a digital version of the menu up on the wall by the register, but I still prefer looking at the laminated paper copy. My go-to meal is the 2 tacos plus 2 sides meal for something around $10. The 2 tacos I usually get are the snapper and the shrimp taco (although any taco I try has been good) along with some sour cream and amazing fries (weird but true) as my sides. The tacos are fairly sizeable and always taste fresh and delicious along with my excellent fries. Overall, The Taqueria on Broad is a great spot to check out if you are looking for food downtown. The fair prices and delicious food are what keep me and my co-workers coming back. read more

Ok so I've heard so much about this place from my co-workers. I work about 5 minutes from this place. So I decided to try it out. I came here at about 1:45 thinking it would be almost empty. Boy was I wrong. I figured I'd be waiting for a while but I came in and the gentlemen behind the counter greated me warmly and kindly took my order. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, the Chicken Empanada and for dinner later on at night I ordered the Chicken soup. 1) The chicken quesadilla was very large. It was a lot, which is good. But to me it really lacked flavor. It was just chicken & cheese. 2) The Chicken Empanada OMG was the best I've ever had. The crust was buttery and flakey and the Chicken was very well seasoned! 3) The Chicken soup. It was full of rice, a good portion of chicken and a nice piece of avocado. But it lacked flavor to me as well. But is is very filling. Over all I must say the sevice was top notch and the food was ok. The Taqueria on Broad for sure gives downtown Atlanta some variety, as it's catered to Georgia State students so the majority of the food options are sub par. The Taqueria on broad has fresh options, i got the grilled snapper taco, steak taco, and grilled chicken. I went in for the first (and last) time looking forward to tacos. The self-service kiosk was the first step. After that it went downhill from there fast. Too bad the kiosk can't manage the place. I ordered two tacos (ground beef, nothing else), rice and beans, and a coke zero. I also helped a co-worker complete their order on the other kiosk. NOTE: I configure shopping carts so I am familiar with user interfaces similar to their kiosk. After sitting down, Angel (the manager, if I recall his name) was carrying around an order. It did not look like mine, and next thing I hear my name called. I explain that I did not order lettuce, tomatoes, and some kind of crème/sauce on my tacos. Angel basically said I ordered that on the kiosk and that is what they made. I politely explained that was not what I ordered and asked for what I ordered. At this point Angel is agitated and explaining they CANNOT do that. That I ordered what they made and the kiosk had my order. I politely said that it's not that you cannot correct it, but you WILL NOT. I think his response was whatever or something to that effect. Angel kept referencing that the kiosk is the basis of the order (paraphrasing), and they cannot deviate from that. Ultimately I removed the solid items, but the sauce was still all over the meat. I was distracted by his rudeness and unwillingness to do the order as ordered, that I did not realize until after I had left that they never delivered the rice and beans that I paid for with my lunch. Also, since he claims the kiosk is what everything is based on, I pointed out before we left that the coke zero was not available, even though the kiosk had it as an option. He basically said, they cannot just go get something when they get low on it. They had no other diet options and I had to manage my blood sugar. So when they don't have it, they don't serve it, but if they make a mistake from the kiosk item, it's the customer's fault. In attempting to communicate with Angel before I left, he would not look at me, and would turn away. I explained politely that I was trying to talk to him. His body language reminded me of a teenager wondering when I was going to leave and drop it. I won't get into how I watched him dip his hands in the forks bucket (unwrapped, and no gloves on his hands) and his thumb and in some cases fingertips on the top of the plates with the customer's food. I have eaten at a variety of taqueria's across various states. Some are basic, some very elegant. I have never had a horrible experience even close to this. If this is the manager he is a bad hire. If this is the owner, God help him, because with this attitude toward customers I can't picture his business surviving with this kind of customer care. read more

I shared the chicken tinga burrito and a Grilled Steak Torta with a friend, but I preferred the burrito honestly. Love that there was fresh salsa available!!! That honestly sealed the deal for me, definitely coming back! I also liked how hot my food came out, everything tastes very fresh! The reason for the hiatus in the first place was because it literally took nearly 30 minutes to get my food one afternoon and then it wasn't even hot when it came out. I love this little place and I become more of a fan the more I go to it when I'm downtown. FOOD: The steak tacos are about average but the chicken ones are where it's at. Milanesa is my favorite and the Chicken Tinga is not far behind in pure taco bliss. SERVICE: This is where this place excels. Everyone is friendly, they're all hustling to get you your food, and, best of all, the pure ownership of a customer experience. The mustachioed owner (at least I think he's the owner) is a master of hospitality, something you wouldn't typically expect from a fast food joint.
