Great find close to my house. Old school diner with a simple menu. I got the Farmer's Omelette-- loaded with bacon, sausage, spinach and other veggies. It came with grits and a side of toast. Staff was very attentive and the place was busy. We waited for a table to be cleared off but we were seated in under five minutes. Small place, so a crowd is a good sign. We went here for a Saturday morning breakfast, and it was that good. Great service, fresh-hot food, friendly people. Jessica was our server and took great care of us. Today I ordered a veggie omelette with feta cheese for pick up and when I arrived I received a feta omelette. First off, when I ordered over the phone, the order was not repeated back to me and the person taking my order was not friendly either. Normally food and service is awesome bought steak and it was well done instead of medium which is what I asked for. Told waitress and she brought out another steak but instead of that being the correction owner who cooked it in correctly and charged for 2nd steak and refused to discuss it. I come regularly brought other customers and one time they didn't have steak sauce walked across the street to get them sauce. The owner who was the cook is sometimes a waitress and we always tip well over 22% and I hate to think she was unwilling to discuss the issue because we are black. I left very upset but still tipped the waitress because it wasn't her fault. Nobody deserves to be treated bad about $8.50 it's the principle. read more

On Saturday , as i often do, I ordered food to go. However, when I arrived at my destination, 25 miles away, I found part of my order to be short. I was taking my mom hot cakes for breakfast. She is 91 years old and lives in West Philly, but she likes Terminal Restaurant's pancakes. I ordered 2 regular servings of hot cakes (3) with turkey bacon (4) and a breakfast sandwich. One of the owners bagged up the order and told me it was ready. I went to a side table and untied the bag to check. Yes, the foam container had foil on the bottom of the order. Hot food will often cause foam containers to melt. And yes, the bacon on my sandwich seemed crisp. It never dawned on me that I needed to count the pancakes or the slices of bacon. After I arrived in West Philly, I proceeded to give my mom her food. To my surprise, one order contained 3 hot cakes and 3 pieces of bacon. The other order contained 2 hot cakes and 1.5 but I'll say 2 slices of bacon. I called the restaurant immediately and told the owner that there was a problem with my order. That it was short. However, I knew they were busy and I also knew that it was too loud in the restaurant to have a conversation over the phone. Hence, I told the owner that I would explain the next time I came to her restaurant. It just so happens that I went to the Terminal Restaurant today after church. One owner walked by my table and spoke to me twice. The other owner seemed to watch me as I ate my breakfast. Neither approached me about my complaint. After eating I waited until the restaurant was not busy and approached one of the owners. I explained my surprise at not having my complete order. As I said I often order food to go. I have been eating at this restaurant for 20 years or more. The other owner, who said he prepared my order, told me that it was complete. I said no which is why I called back yesterday. I also reminded them that I have been a customer, often bringing my family, students, and friends to their restaurant, for many years. I was shocked when he continued to say the order was right as if he could not make a mistake, especially when busy. In essence he called me a liar. I reiterated what was in the order and what had been expected. The other owner said well one pancake is no big deal. I said no it isn't but it is a big deal when I'm called a liar. I also told her that if my Mom wants pancakes again, I would remind them of the shortened order. It is amazing that after all these years they have not developed a better way to deal with customers or even employees. Most restaurants that I go to would want to keep a customer happy. In a case like this the other restaurants would have more than likely, approached me while I was eating to find out what the problem was; and afterwards, with their apology, would have offered me a full order or the promise of a full order the next time. No, Maria, one pancake is not a big deal but customer service in any business is a very big deal. read more

I had the meatloaf and just wasn't impressed overall. If I'm going to a diner I'd much rather go to Michaels in Wyncote or Bonnet Lane on 611. Go to Michael's diner and get a salad bar and soup or Bonnet Lane for fresh homemade food. read more

The Terminal is a fantastic little locally-owned diner. The service is always terrific, even during busy times. The food is also wonderfully prepared and fresh. In my opinion, it's much less greasy compared to other diner breakfasts and I would estimate that you get more "bang for your buck" in terms of food quantity. Bacon is thicker cut and you get more than two pieces (four) and the home fries with onion are delicious, especially when prepared well-done. read more

The Terminal always served up a nice plate of food. Good bang for your buck and friendly, reliable service. Moved out of the area for a number of years but returned to find this diner exactly the way I remember it. Prices for breakfast are expensive (which is fine if that's what you are looking for) however the Terminal keeps it real with a big old fashioned hearty breakfast/lunch. read more

This is by far one our favourite spots for breakfast. Yet to get an opportunity to visit them for lunch but I'm sure it's just as good. This is a very well loved small business with a real small community feel, plenty of regulars and the friendly staff who knows everyone and very low turn over with staff. For our first visit we ordered the farmer's omelet, a side of corned beef hash, and two eggs over medium with bacon. The omelet was superb, the corned beef hash was toasted to crispy perfection, and the eggs and bacon were excellent. Our server was very attentive, the restaurant was a true local hangout, and we will definitely be back. They have great breakfast items and I love their home fries. Sometimes my eggs over easy are cooked over hard. To keep this short and sweet, this place is disgusting! Dirty floor, tables, glasses, and silverware. I'd hate to see what the kitchen looks like. Against my better judgment I decided to give this place another shot. Went with a group of 5. It wasn't busy at all but out breakfast took 30 minutes to come out. Everything was beyond greasy, toast and eggs were burnt. We wound up not eating any of the food. We had clean silverware at least but the place overall is still dirty looking. Judge for yourself but this was my experience. Drive 5 mins down the road and go to West Ave or Kitchen Bar. read more

I have to admit, when my son suggested having Sunday breakfast at The Terminal Restaurant, I was not thrilled. I have driven by the place numerous times on my way to The Willow Grove Mall. From the outside, there is nothing attractive about the restaurant, which is why I have been reluctant to try it. Well, I tried it this morning and was pleasantly surprised ! The food and service were both excellent, and the restaurant was very clean and comfortable inside! Oh, I and don't want to forget to mention that the prices were VERY reasonable! This restaurant should come up as #1 for best breakfast. I returned with my picky teenage son today, after having been away for two years. Tasted exactly like I remember.... Amazing. I had my old favorite, French Toast and sausage. I treated myself to fresh whipped butter too. I will probably have to walk five miles tonight to burn off breakfast, but man, was it worth it. Sausage is so fresh and wonderful. My picky son had eggs over easy,bacon and home fries. With two coffees,bill was $16 including tax. Money well spent. Son loved everything and asked when we could return. Waitress was lovely, welcoming, and even the owner, Chris and his talented cook waived enthusiastically at me when I entered; even after a two year break, they recognized me. What a nice feeling. I wish we lived closer. My mother-in-law loves their creamed chip beef. Can't wait to bring her back. Just learned they are open on Sundays for breakfast til 2 p.m. and serve Eggs Benedict. Went here a few weeks ago on a Sat morning w/ a bud.....he was bragging about the bacon......see my review of Daddy-Pops in Hatboro........this place has the best...& I mean BEST....bacon I have ever had in any restaurant...EVER. I know that's a bold statement, but go there.......then tell me I'm wrong. Thick cut, not greasy, not burned....& I ordered my eggs over medium, which most places get wrong....perfectly cooked, home fries w/ green peppers & onions were very damn good also....& they bring a pot of coffee to the table....& we all know I HATE waiting for my java. I asked our waitress how the chicken salad was and she said 'They make it here in the kitchen fresh when you order!' And I also asked what is served with the chicken salad plate. I was told the chicken salad was served on a green salad When the salad arrived it was served on a bowl of iceburg lettuce with these terrible orange-yellow unripe tomatoes. It was mid September when the stores all have wonderful red plump tomatoes. At this time of year, I don't think there is any excuse for a restaurant to serve tomatoes like this. They also plopped a huge scoop of cole slaw half way on top of the chicken salad along with chopped onions & green peppers & whole un pitted olives. (Maybe they were trying to hide the chicken salad with the cole slaw) So after removing the cole slaw, olives, green peppers & terrible tomatoes, I looked at the chicken salad. It was a scoop of something with a lot of mayonnaise and these little flat squares. At first I thought they chopped up some American cheese slices in it. I tasted a rubbery square & realized, the whole thing was chopped up pressed turkey lunchmeat! It was a scoop of chopped pressed turkey lunchmeat doused in a heap of mayonnaise! I've never seen anything like it. I'm not usually critical in a restaurant, but It was disgusting. The place was busy and we arrived just as they were changing the special board from breakfast to lunch, so I imagine the breakfast must be good & that's why they get 4 & 5 stars, but I would stay away from the lunch food. My Mom got the turkey club & that wasn't that great either with the same rubbery pressed turkey & unripe tomatoes. read more
