My daughter (6 years old) and I absolutely love this office! I have been taking her here since she was 3 (I think even earlier than that) They have always made us feel at ease throughout the whole experience. Their front desk staff is very kind and clear with their information. We were able to bring our daughter during 2020 and felt very safe. We haven't had to wait with anyone in the waiting room and we have been seen right away every time. They have implemented amazing regulations to keep themselves and their patients safe. Their offices are very clean and organized. Their doctors and dental assistants are the absolute best with kids, they are very knowledgeable, sweet and so very patient. I definitely recommend taking your kiddos here. They have such an amazing environment. My daughter feels nervous about going to the dentist as most of us do, but after every visit she says how much she loved it! Miss Erica is the absolute best! We were able to request her after our first visit with her, and we always have such a pleasant experience with her. As a mom, I am so grateful for the kindness and patience Ms. Erica has show my daughter. It brings happy tears to my eyes to see that my kid is being treated so well, getting great dental care and on top of it all is forming such a positive image in her head of what it is to go to the dentist. Cannot say enough good things about this office. Apt process was easy and flexible. Kids were able to get apts in a reasonable time frame, not months out. All staff from reception to dental staff to Dentist were kind and professional. Office was clean and organized and well maintained. Erica dental assistant took her time to explain the process to my two kids who were a bit apprehensive about the visit. Super THOROUGH cleaning! The kids have never had their teeth cleaned so well. This facility seemed to do pediatric dental services. Recently, we found out that the business was out of the network because I had PPO, they didn't tell me if it cost a lot, they overcharged me. I took my kids to another dentist to checkout, The kids have been going to David Chin DDS since 2018 but the business professionally did not do dental services such as the fillings right. They could have done much better work. If you continue to go to this dentist, think twice if you pay for the service that you receive. There is no zero star for Yelp review. read more

Update to my prior review 7! years ago. Today was a very stressful day. My child had to have 3 teeth removed. The anxiety started when we made the appointment a month ago. The dentist and our hygienist were amazing. This is where going to a dental office that specializes in children and has a ton of great reviews really pays off. I warned the office in advance of the challenges that my child would have due to intense fears. Erica, our hygienist, was empathetic with my child and also a magician. She had a very experienced way of keeping the conversation going so that there was no time to sit and ponder what was about to happen. The dentist was equally amazing, kind and gentle. I was so stressed about this appointment. In the end, it my child told them that is was a much easier experience than she thought it would be. The most important thing is that this ended up being a positive experience for my kid and there will not be freak outs every time we have to go to the doctor or dentist for future visits. The doctors and dental hygienists here are amazing. The office staff however is APALLING. I had forgotten to update my insurance with them. At my 2nd visit for my son's cavity fill, they let me know that my insurance had denied the first claim. They advised they had called me and informed all of this over a voice message and were quite rude that I had not responded. I said I'm very sorry, I did not receive your message but here is my updated insurance. They continued to show me on their documentation that they did indeed call me and it was my fault. Eye roll.... OK fine, beat a dead horse. They then went over my new treatment plan with my new insurance, which apparently paid even more than my old insurance. They gave me a breakdown of my new costs and it was better. Yippee. The 3rd visit they advised me to wait until they mailed me a bill so they could sort it out. Fine with me. Got a bill and a voice message (that I actually received!) that let me know I did indeed own an additional $134. Ouch but OK, I paid it. Got another message last week (over a month after I paid the final bill) that they needed to talk to me about my bill. I called and left a message. Never heard back. Received a bill in the mail that said I owe an additional $189 and I'm 60 days late! I called to get a description of why I owed so much more when they even said I would owe less. And they even went over all my costs. The office manager argued with me about how this was my fault because I never responded to their first message, you know the one I never got. Told me that they don't just make up these notes, they definitely called me. I let her know that this could have been another number they accidentally called, but why are you arguing with the customer, I gave you that information at my 2nd visit, it should've been sorted out then, isn't this then YOUR fault? She continued to interrupt me and tell me she wanted to finish but never let me explain, nor did she explain. I told her I wasn't going to pay this, you never updated your files correctly and already had given me the complete payment breakdown at the time of visit AFTER I provided the updated insurance and they checked the benefits. She said "Fine, whatever you wanna do." And I hung up. I called Metlife for the breakdown and saw that I only owed $42 more, NOT $189. I called back and then she said "as I explained to you it was a human error, errors happen and we did not bill correctly, so we'll be writing off this amount, any questions?" NEVER did they explain this to me, this was THEIR error and here I am not only getting a bill for their error, but getting talked to like I'm a piece of garbage. Yes, you will be writing this off because I will not be paying. Nor will I be back. read more

The atmosphere of the practice is very clean and all of his assistance are very friendly. He has a very calming and kind heart that relieved my youngest child's anxieties. As time has gone on we have seen his associates who also have been very nurturing and loving. My kids have been clients of Dr. Chin since about 2003. It has always been a pleasant experience. The receptionist knows who is walking in the door and easily handles any insurance concerns. Maria keeps the office flowing smoothly. Of special note is Tara, who seems to be the lead dental hygienist. One of my kids has some odd needs, yet Tara makes the entire visit pleasant for them. Dr. Chin and Erica, dental hygienist, are outstanding. They are very kind and patient with my nervous little boy and I am so grateful. Before I met Dr. Chin for our first appointment with him, he spoke to me over the phone off-hours (on a Sunday morning!) to discuss a dental concern. It was immediately clear why he has such a great reputation! Erica was so good with my child that it felt as though she had been working with him for years! She let him get familiar with her instruments and explained everything to him. He warmed up to her and relaxed for the first time in a dental chair! She was able to do more than any hygienist in the last five years. I was amazed at how well she worked with him. She even suggested that I take photos so he could remember and be more familiar the next time. It was the best experience I've ever had at a dental office with my child. Our son's first trip to the dentist was at the tender age of one! He was apprehensive at first, but Dr. Chin performed the exam quickly and professionally, and before my son could develop a phobia, the exam was finished! He was happy to go back to doing what one year olds do best: PLAY! :) Dr. Chin also answered all of my first-time mother's questions and concerns, especially regarding thumb-sucking and how it will affect my son's teeth, and allayed my fears. The office staff is also professional and friendly, and the office wait room has lots of fun toys, books and a kid-friendly movie for the kids, and lots of current magazines for the parents. Even the restroom has sinks for kids and pre-pasted toothbrushes! There are definitely a lot of nice little touches, so that this pediatric dental office is warm and inviting for the children. We just had our first visit with Dr. Aneri and we are in love. My kids, especially my daughter, are super anxious about the dentist- they have had some bad experiences in the past. The dental hygienist, Erica, was AMAZING! She made my daughter feel safe and comfortable. She was very patient and took her time with my anxious child. Then, Dr. Aneri came for exams and she was lovely. My son needed part of a tooth extracted and she explained the whole process, never using the word "shot." She was gentle, kind, and explained everything along the way. When it came to treatment for my daughter, Dr. Aneri took the whole picture into consideration before we decided on a plan. They soaked us for 1 1/2 years of cavities...not telling us insurance didn't cover them. I took my son here years ago, before Yelp. I started with an associate who was wonderful, but she left and we had Dr Chin himself. I'll never forget the trauma of my 5 yr old who was there for a filling. They were so busy, they left him with an assistant while his mouth was numbing up. He played with the lousy old toys with his mouth strung open by a trampoline-like guard and waited...and waited. He was an early release kindergartener and it took so long for the dentist to come, that i feared I would have to leave to get my other kid from school. Finally, the Dr comes in, talking on the phone with a bunch of staff all talking. He never apologized to us...in fact, he didn't even address me! He starts drilling and I see my son's body tense and his toes start to point...HE CAN FEEL THE DRILLING BECAUSE THE ANESTHESIA WAS EITHER WEARING OFF OR NOT WORKING! Poor kid! I'm so dumb founded and worried about making a scene because I don't want to scare my boy or the dentist. When he's done, he leaves and still never talked to me. We leave in shock and the rude front office is all about the money and not the least bit interested in telling the doctor how upset we were. Pediatric dentists always seem to be bullies. Serxner was also mean. I've found that adult dentists are actually better. read more

Dr. Chin is an experienced dentist, who offers special care for children with autism and other challenges. Our 12 year-old is severely affected by autism and we deeply appreciate the care he receives when he visits with Dr. Chin. The reason I didn't give this office the highest rating is because special needs children are only seen on week-day mornings (not after school), which makes it difficult not to miss a large chunk (and sometimes the entire day) of school and therapy sessions. It would be great if the office provided special needs appointments in the late afternoon - even if this time period were only offered once a month. read more

Because of Dr. Chin, our kids actually enjoy going to the dentist and don't have a hint of fear or anxiety when going! We've been seeing Dr. Chin since our oldest was a toddler. Our experience with Dr. Chin and his team continue to be excellent! The reception staff are friendly and attentive. The dental hygienists did an amazing job engaging our 7 and 3 y/o in age appropriate ways, making the cleaning and exam process fun and anxiety-free. They explained what they were doing each step of the way and educated our kids on how their teeth were doing and how to improve care for their teeth. This visit was for cleaning and check-up, so Dr. Chin just needed to do a quick dental exam after the cleaning rather then doing more extensive work, but he was very warm and engaging. He explained very clearly how our kids teeth were doing and what areas of concern we would need to watch out for. After everything, the kids received a goodie bag with toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, stickers, and a token to choose a free small toy. Dr. Chin knows how to take care of children really well, and it shows. This is a team of seasoned professionals who excel in their practice. I highly recommend Dr. Chin & Associates! read more

I've been taking my three kids to Dr. Chin for years. I love Dr. Chin. I have never felt rushed with him. He takes the time and talks to my kids. My middle child was very afraid of the dentist after her experience with Dr. Serxner. My daughter was scared to death of him. I just thought she was over reacting until my eldest child said he is really mean to her. Dr. Serxner was okay with my eldest because she had good teeth and never needed much work. So we started seeing Dr. Chin. Dr. Chin really worked with my daughter to get her at ease and now she is 13 years old and is fine going to the dentist. He would give her a sedative and laughing gas when she had worked done and she was okay with it. Dr. Chin has high standards. His office is always clean. Parents are allowed to stay with their children at all times. Lately, I've been taking my youngest and I find Maria to be unfriendly. I would have given him 5 stars except for my interaction with Maria. She makes us feel like she is doing us a favor. She isn't friendly and isn't helpful. My husband feels the same way. Malinda at the front desk is very friendly and always helpful. I wish I could say the same about Maria. LeeAnn in the back is always very friendly and helpful too. All the girls that do the cleanings are friendly and helpful too. My kids love that they have toothbrushes in the restroom so they can brush before their visit. They love the toys and books in the waiting room. They love getting a report card and a prize after. They also love their goody bag of supplies. One other negative, it's kind of hard to get an appt.
