Went here later in the afternoon on Saturday with my parents for the first time, and I found it to be just okay. Upon arrival, we were shown to our seats, and based on my observation, we were the only ones dining at the time. It ended up being a little of a wait to have our order taken, but the waitress was very friendly and attentive. For my appetizer, I ordered a cup of the crab stew, which I absolutely adored. It was everything I could have wanted out of a Crab Stew. If I had anything to complain about with it, it would be that it was a bit more watery than I prefer, but it didn't affect the great flavor of the stew. For my entrée, I had ordered the seafood Alfredo, which contained both shrimp and scallops. When the Alfredo arrived, I was surprised at how big the portion size was. You could easily feed a couple of people with it, or fill yourself for dinner and bring the rest home for later. However, I found the linguine to be underwhelming. The shrimp and scallops were alright and had decent flavor, but I found the linguine itself to be rather bland and flavorless. I feel it could've have heavily benefited from a bit more of the homemade alfredo. For my parents, my mother ordered the Chicken Fingers with spuds, and my father ordered the Fried Shrimp with Cole slaw and spuds. Both of them found their food to be delicious, and they both really enjoyed the spuds along with the Cole slaw. Overall, for my first time here after hearing people rave about their food, I left disappointed and underwhelmed. Had a great meal last night topped off with homemade desserts. I would have given them 5 stars but the bathroom definitely needed attention . Picky maybe, but it's a whole experience. Ordered a water and Diet Coke and ended up drinking lots of Diet Coke as he water had a funky taste which I could also taste in the entree. Besides that small issue, the shrimp were large and delicious and the cream sauce on the grits was very flavorful as well. Local place, local flavor!! PACKED on a Friday night but we were seated pretty quick and didn't really mind that the 5th in our party had to sit at the end of the 4 top. Good thing they shared with someone else because it REALLY would have cut down our eating space. Food was good, though! And we got the benefit of a training wait staff, and both the trainer and trainee were good!! Crab cake was not traditional and came with lime aioli so if you are a picky eater, you won't like it. First time here. We live pretty close to this place. I had the fried shrimp & fries. Ok but nothing special. My wife had the grilled scallops and baked potato. She said they were sort of bland. Needed garlic butter. I think our young waitress might have been new to the place. She didn't pay much attention to us. I had to ask another server to bring my wife butter and sour cream for her baked potato and I asked him for ketchup for my fries. She never came back and asked us if we wanted another drink, so I saw her walking by and told her we would like another round. They weren't brought to our table until we were already finished with dinner. She never asked us if we would like to order desert, and just brought the check to our table. We may stop back to try a fish sandwich someday but otherwise don't know if we will go out of our way to go back. read more

Just visiting in the area, so this my first time dining at The Tin and Fin. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and was very happy with them. They were by far the best i have ever had and the serving size was plentiful. Brianna was our waitress, who was very helpful and has a great personality. The decor inside is nice and well apportioned. The wait staff is helpful and good. I had the daily special; mahi mahi carribean style with the green beans and noodles with alfredo sauce. The fish was well cooked and had a nice, mild flavor to it. The beans were in some kind of butter sauce and the noodles were nicely cooked and had just the right amount of sauce to go with them. New to the area, just relocated from New York and we decided to try Tin Fin....what a great place. Food was amazing and we loved the service and our waitress was great. I think it was the owner who came over to us at the end of the meal to see how everything was and inform us of all the specials throughout the week. So happy to have found a great fish/seafood restaurant so close to home. We have already been back twice and always look forward to going back. We definitely want to try their brunch and Tuesday night all you can eat crab. I highly recommend their crab stew and their fresh catch, any style. I've had the seared sea scallop skewers (say that 3x fast) and it was amazing. Their savannah spuds are so yummy and everything has been always fresh and good! This is probably one of the worst seafood restaurants near Savannah. The high cost along with poor execution by their kitchen staff of the basics does NOT justify the high prices. The menu is basic, but has odd selections. I have visited this restaurant a few times but after yesterday night's fiasco I will not be back. I will save my money and head to Savannah where I can get good food and service downtown for about the same price. Also, don't advertise for a special lava cake that is homemade if the chef cannot execute a true lava cake. Our lava was nonexistent since it was over baked! Pretty good service, especially for the area. I didn't think the Seared tuna appetizer was worth the price however. The bacon wrapped scallops were also underwhelming. I don't recommend any appetizers. Waitress forgot to offer the fresh fishes of the day which was disappointing when I heard the next tables offer. I ordered the mushroom skewers which were good and they gave them at no additional charge since they forgot to mention the $2 up charge. Atmosphere was ok, the service was great. All downhill from there. The food? It left a lot to be desired. I ordered the "lump" crab cakes. My wife ordered the scallops. Her order was a good size, and priced right for what she received. I ordered mine after the waitress(bartender) assured me they were jumbo lump crab cakes. They were neither jumbo, nor lump at all. At first i thought they made a mistake and gave me a child portion. They were that tiny. Not even big enough to call them small. AND! Not one lump between the two cakes I received. You will find many more lumps in a can of tuna fish! And the price of $22 was way out of line. I was still hungry but we were afraid to order desert. read more

Great food! I have now been to Rincon twice in the last month and each stop included dinner at The Tin Fin. Their seared tuna and spinach dip appetizers are fantastic. Their tuna catch of the day and their shrimp and grits were very good choices! I will be back next trip. read more

Not a good experience tonight. I would give no stars, if I could. The food was ok, but definitely not worth the $50 for one enjoyable snow crab. Out of the few they tried to serve, I was able to eat almost a whole cluster. We always go for the all-you-can snow crab legs and this time, we were served 1 crab at a time, while having to wait for at least 5 minutes or more before we were served the next crab. Our fries were old and dried out, I had to toss them all in the bucket. It was a slow night (11/05/19), but we still had to wait for each snow crab. I mentioned to our server and she seemed timid and afraid of complaints. I wasn't rude or upset. She asked and I gave my honest opinion. I just wanted to make it known that the food was not all that good yet and that I'll still give it a try on the next round. Other customers were also frustrated with this process of having to wait so long for the next all-you-can eat crab. I've never had to complain and I usually suck it up to thinking "oh well, maybe next time" and just a bad choice for us and move on, but tonight was just not passable. Manager on duty kept saying she had to make a phone call about my complaint. She did this 3 times...telling me she was making a phone call. She went away each time to no avail. She went away to make this phone call and we had to wait again for a resolution. I'm still actually sitting here while writing this review. We won't come back any more after this experience. We usually like patronizing The Tin Fin and I've even sent many friends and colleagues to try them out, but my view have totally changed. Update: They called the police on me and my family (I was holding my 15 month old baby girl), because I complained and asked for a manager to resolve. Two officers came and we were very surprised, including the other customers. For some reason, I had a feeling that this is what the woman was doing, but I was not going to leave on that hunch, because complaining in a calm and tact manner is not a crime. They called police for a customer complaint. I wasn't irate nor causing a scene. No apology, no genuine concern, etc. from this "manager", just basically shut up and pay no matter what you say. I, at least wanted an apology. She told me to "go" as if she was setting me up to be a "walkout", most especially, having me sit there to wait for more than 10 minutes while she was supposedly calling someone above her to further resolve my concerns. We should not have to wait with an empty plate for the next serving, while our server sweeps around our area while customers are eating. Sweeping does cause dust and residue to fly around. Even other servers were surprised on how to situation was handled. The one server that sees us come in often couldn't do anything but smile and shrug her shoulders like in shock of it all. I conversed with her for a few minutes, while still waiting on my change. I even joked with the officers, if I could put in a complaint on how long this manager was taking to bring my change. We were basically forced to pay for a meal which I was not satisfied about. I didn't dispute the other $106 for my husband's and daughter's dinners. I just was not happy with my meal and I still left the restaurant hungry. The money was not an issue, it was the principal on how the situation was handled. No customer service skills at all. Not only did they take a long time to serve food this night, the "manager" on duty took even excessive time to bring my change. I just didn't trust them enough to pay with a credit card and to have access to my card. read more

A hidden gem in a strip mall! It's so hard to put into words just how great The Tin Fin is!! We started off with the calamari that had an amazing lemon burre- then my party had the fish tacos that were fried to perfection, grilled shrimp that had great seasoning and seafood Alfredo that was the bomb diggity! OH - can't forget the crab stew - omg JUST ORDER IT! We also had the rusty Rita and pomegranate sangria - you can't go wrong with either of them. I've ordered delivery three times fron this place and every time they tell an hour and 10 minutes before I get it and I've never got it before 2 hours. ALWAYS COLD. This place is only 5 minutes away from my house. I don't think I will ever order anything from them again. I thought ok first time I will let it go. Second time I was a little aggravated hut the third time it's a wrap. If you can't get delivery delivered in the time you say which is always over an hour then you shouldn't offer it. read more

Don't believe the hype! Valentine's dinner with the wife, we were excited about being able to have dinner locally especially with all the good reviews. SAT at the bar for 15 minutes without even being greeted. Both bartenders looked at us several times without asking us if we wanted a drink. We were seated, H took our order, mine- steak and shrimp (easy enough right) hers - some lobster and tuna concoction. We sit there for an hour, look at each other and say " think they forgot us?" Some other woman, not our server comes over says " we're sorry, there was an mistake with your ticket ( don't know what that meant). Another different woman comes up after the first left and says " did they tell you we're out of lobster?" No they didn't. Our food comes out, mine-no shrimp, hers- no lobster and looks like baby food, i guess a manager comes out and says" mm sorry, we'll take care of the bill" then loudly asked " how is your steak, I'm almost scared to ask". Everyone in the restaurant looks at me like I'm an @#$$. Remind you I did nothing wrong and didn't even get mad about the screwed up order. We then feel bad cause the server finally reappears and she says they are angry at her. so we order dessert so we can leave a tip. $7.00 for the "cake" (see pic) and .50 for a to go cup that held the cake!! Overall don't waste your money, steak was on but not a hint of ANY seasoning, wife's food look way over cooked and baby foodish. We left the cake wasn't even worth taking. This was my first time at this restaurant. The food came out fresh and hot. I got shrimp and fries and I will say my food was not as crunchy as I like but it does say "fried lightly". I just didn't think that meant the fries too. The chicken Alfredo was excellent. The sauce is so creamy. For a nice cocktail I would suggest the Lynchburg lemonade. I was a bit disappointed because my hopes were high after reading some of the reviews. I had their creamy chowder and I would have enjoyed it except it way too salty. I ordered the seafood platter and man was it a platter. I couldn't eat it all. The filets, oysters, scallops and shrimps were fried but the breading was falling off and it was a bit oiley. My favorite selections are the Wahoo (mild, white, thick, yummy fish filet) and believe it or not the steak. My husband loves the Snow Country Boil. Finish off with key lime pie. We have always had great service here. The reasons this didn't get 5 stars: pork chops were thin and dry, I did not bring this to their attention so it is possible they would have replaced. What happened! This used to be my favorite place to show off! I moved out of town and was so excited to show my boyfriend my favorite restaurant, the service was horrible. We were checked on twice! The Alfredo is not worth ordering anymore was bland and salty at the same time my fries were unsalted and cold and the cracked red potatoes were almost brown. The fried shrimp was still good so was the spinach dip. I'm so sad and disappointed. I really hope they figure out what's going on because this used to be the spot.
