My wife and I were on the last leg of our trip up the Pacific Coast Highway and were hungary for a good vegan meal. We found this little gem in North Bend, Oregon. Paula (the owner) and her two daughters do a fantastic job of serving up some of the best plant based food we have had the pleasure of eating. I had the Teriyaki Hawaiian burger, and my wife had the fiesta bowl. We topped it off with a piece of mixed berry pie which was out-of-this world. The cafe is super clean, the service is warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting. Paula, the owner is very upbeat and friendly as are her daughters. If you get the opportunity go there. There's a good amount of seating both inside and outside this vegan restaurant. It's rather noisy inside if many are talking. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The homemade "burger " patties are actually pretty tasty and make a nice sandwich (and I'm not vegan but was there with friends.) They did the sweet potato fries in an air fryer which I suppose are healthier; the problem was it's limited in how much can be done at once and our 3rd person had to wait for theirs. I noticed they did offer several salads which looked good as they were served to others. If you're traveling with vegan friends this restaurant is a lovely option! read more

Such a true gem in an unexpected place. Located on the main strip (US 101 / Sherman Ave) in Downtown North Bend between California Street and Virginia, heading south on the right hand side. Curb Parking along 101 or on the side streets. Not too far from the visitor center. Great menu options. So fresh and refreshing. I turned a bowl into a wrap and have no regrets. Vegan doesn't mean tasteless. At the counter, we were given a genuinely friendly welcome, and one of the two kind women patiently (and really cheerfully!) answered all our questions. One thing not mentioned in their menu: They have 3 options for the buns in a "hamburger": Wheat bun, 24 grain bread, and a gluten free ($3.50 extra, which is shown in the menu). They have specials written on a board that changes (likely daily). Including the two shown on the board, there were 5 choices for burgers. There were also 4 types of bowls includnig the one on the board. I shared a Punjabi Village Bowl, and a Fiesta Style burger (added a side salad for $4). The burger was absolutely delicious. It was an interesting combination of a crunchy exterior and moist interior, and very flavorful. The Village Bowl was also delicious. My only minor niggle is I wish the Punjabi bowl had a bit more flavor ("spicy cilantro chutney" made me think it might have some heat, but it did not). They have a lovely seating area outside in the back, with very clean picnic style tables, and a very pleasant garden. Something I don't usually comment on, but deserves a mention here. They have two unisex (one person) bathrooms, that were very clean (at least the one I visited was). (FYI: For customers only.) Service was so genuinely kind and happy that it just makes the entire experience so nice. But it doesn't hurt that the food was scrumptious, and with healthy options that are as good as possible to find at any restaurant (and certainly better than most). read more

We stopped at this delicious vegan restaurant on a road trip. The service was super friendly and efficient. The food was SO tasty!! We loved everything we tried including: - exceptionally authentic potato salad - perfectly toasted, smoky BLTA sandwich - just-the-right-sweetness-level blackberry smoothie - creamy BBQ mac and cheese Portion sizes did not disappoint. We left over full because the food was too good to get a takeout box. Looking forward to the mixed berry pie we got to go. I was in town for two days for a conference at the casino. I'm a vegan and was so pleasantly surprised to find this vegan gem just 4 minutes away from the casino! The staff are welcoming and wonderful. I absolutely loved everything I tried; the barbecue burger, fiesta tacos, macaroni and cheese and potato leek soup. We tasted each other's and we were both happy with the food. Service was fabulous. The lady who greeted us (with a smile and an enthusiastic attitude) explained the menu and the menu board very clearly. Super nice! The servicer was sweet! Ambiance is cozy and clean. I believe there are about a dozen tables.CLEAN.! We walked in and the tables that weren't occupied were wiped down and clean. The bathroom was clean. They have a regular menu and then some different specials they rotate through. I ordered the Hawaiian teriyaki burger with garlic mashed potatoes. My husband got the Chili and nachos and then we got a pie for dessert. Usually with vegan food, it's so pricey, but here, it was VERY reasonable. For the 4 menu items, we spent just over $30 including tip. The food was amazing and if we weren't in a public space, our plates would have been licked clean. Really appreciate the staff at Tin Thistle. I am managing a long list of food allergies and sensitivities in addition to eating vegan which makes eating out always interesting. The staff here was really great at checking labels for me as we compared their menu and my list in coming up with something that I could take out and eat for dinner later that night as they close at 4pm. Uniquely curated 100% vegan menu! We stopped here while driving up the coast from Bandon for a quick lunch. Based on info available online we weren't exactly sure what we were going to see on the menu. One site made it sound like it was all Scottish food but vegan (think haggis and corn beef). The menu was an eclectic mix of cuisine types using flavors from all around the globe. Ingredients were fresh and dishes were served upon ordering. No pre-made and pre-set lunches here! Indoor seating available and is socially distanced. There is also outdoor seating in the "garden" space out back. There is a cooler inside with drinks. If you want something from the cooler, ask the staff. We were told not to go digging in it ourselves. Dishes were reasonably priced and a good sized portion. If we did not get the loaded nachos as an appetizer, we would have left a bit hungry. Staff was very kind and a lot of locals or repeat customers appeared to be stopping in, which is great to see. My husband and I enjoy lunch here at least twice a week. It's an excellent plant-based eatery with a large and varied menu. The tasty burgers are made mostly of ground walnuts.
