How is it that I haven't visited this place sooner??? I mean I've been driving all over DFW for my Cajun/Creole cravings, and had this place in vicinity all these years!?! Well, I've found it now, and will be returning with frequency. You know you've found a good spot when you see regulars there, and the bartenders know what they're drinking already. So far, we've tried the Seafood Boil, Close to the Bayou, Shrimp Po' Boy, fresh Oysters on the Half Shell, Fried Okra AND BEIGNETS w/ Chocolate drizzle... all DELISH!!! They have a great beverage selection with plenty of beers on tap, mixed cocktails and top shelf drinks galore. The host (Aliana(spell?) and bartender (Amelia) were AWESOME, and really made the dining experience so much fun! The vibe and ambiance is very homey & you just feel like you belong. Overall great experience. I came for the seafood boil. I ordered the shrimp boil with the "all-in" sauce and added the potato and corn option. To my surprise, the shrimp was already peeled for you. The sauce was good, but it was a little too spicy for my liking, but if you like spicy, by all means you'll love this. I personally like to have the experience of peeling the shrimp and i like the head on because it adds more flavor but, they just had the "no-head" option. Although, the portions are huge! My husband ordered the fish option, which comes with your choice of fish, you choose the style like if you wanted your fish to be fried, blackened, or grilled, and choose your topping (includes sides) or sauce (does not include sides). He chose the snapper, grilled, with the atchafalaya sauce; crawfish étouffée and fried crawfish tails with garlic breadstick and white rice. We both thought this dish was okay. We've had better crawfish étouffée but, overall still good. For the appetizer, we ordered some wings which was pretty good too. We were quickly seated saw the menu & ordered couple of beers Sam Adam's & Dos Equis. From the fish section we choose- The Oscar - scarlet snapper grilled Your Choice of Fish, Either Grilled / Blackened / Fried (Corn Meal or Tempura), Herb Crusted with Lump Crab Meat, Lemon Butter Sauce served with White Rice & Broccoli. Red drum fish grilled with Cajun cream sauce & Creole potato salad. Both the dishes were excellent , the Cajun cream sauce & the Creole potato salad was delicious it complemented the fish very well . Ok so this is mixed review honestly because some things were fantastic and some things horrible. Went for lunch on a Sunday about noon.... Ahh we where only people there other than one guy at the bar. Service was just ok. The good: Fried mushrooms and hush puppies are some of the best we have ever had! The average: Catfish Poorboy and fries were average. Catfish fillet was big but under seasoned and fries just blah. The horrible: The Tipsy salad sampler of egg salad, chicken salad and pimento cheese. While it looked great and huge portions all three are so bad, almost un edible especially the pimento cheese! The hush puppies are probably the best we have ever had and we had lots of them from all over Louisiana! Might give it one more shot. read more

The snow crab is the best I've had in east DFW. The peach cobbler is some of the best I've ever had and the service is tentative and kind. There was karaoke when we went and the attempts at singing were quite entertaining. Highly recommend having a Snow crab Cajun boil. Ok... this might be a first, but I have to give my honest opinion . I love a good cajun restaurant, so we stopped by, but I definitely would NOT recommend this one... unless you enjoy unseasoned food. Our server was amazing, and our food came out fresh, but it all lacked flavor. We spent so much money for subpar food, and we honestly didn't feel very comfortable in this establishment either. I loved the idea of a wine flight, but every glass tasted like refrigerator... you know how wine tastes when it's been open for a while and isn't fresh anymore? The gumbo was dirty tasting and watery. I took one bite and pushed it to the side. I'm used to a thick, velvety, and flavorful roux... but this wasn't it. I love that I had the option to add mushrooms to my seafood boil, but again, it lacked flavor. It was spicy... as if they added some type of Tabasco sauce to it, but that's it! The bottom of the crab boil bowl had no butter, seasoning, garlic, or ANYTHING to sop my goodies in. It was just dry. I was really confused. Maybe we visited on a bad day ‍. read more

This restaurant was severely disappointing. We waited about 12 min for a coke and received a taste of the Cajun butter sauce about 10 minutes before the coke. We ordered after being seated for 20 minutes. Thankfully the hostess brought us water immediately after sitting down. The staff were really nice. So they deserve their kudos there. After that though the food was average. We spent over 90 minutes there after receiving our food at about the 70 minute mark. I won't come here again. I have to admit I went here with some trepidation because of several bad reviews. It was my granddaughter's 14th birthday and she chose the place because she wanted to try the crab boil. I generally eat carnivore so it's always a challenge to find enough to eat without paying a fortune. I chose to cheat a bit that day and had the grilled fish with chips and coleslaw. Many of the reviews said there was no flavor or seasonings, but my fish and fries were seasoned well, I did add some salt because I do prefer a lot of salt to keep my electrolyte up but otherwise the food was great. Keep in mind some people are under the false impression that salt is bad for them because doctors, who have never had a nutrition class want to sell you BP meds. That's why there is salt on the tables for you to add more if you want. My daughter and three granddaughter's enjoyed the crab boil and we all had a great time. Our waitress was very helpful with the menu and filled our waters and tea promptly. So I'm going to say it was better than what most people complained about. By the way, for those who leave bad reviews we can see your profile and if you have 9 bad reviews out of 10, I'm pretty sure it's not the places you eat but just the fact that you are entitled and picky. read more

To start off, we had a great lunch experience here and will be back for more and think this place deserves better reviews!! Food was amazing, the portions were great and prices were cheap and our waiter was nice and very attentive. We got the oysters which were HUGE and fried mushrooms which were seasoned great for appetizers and then we ordered the catfish atchafalaya and the seafood gumbo. The catfish atchafalaya was well seasoned and tasted very fresh, the breadsticks were amazing and I'm pretty sure home made and the gumbo was a tad salty but still tasted great with the bread and rice mixed. We even got a desert of mini beignets since lunch was pretty cheap! The inside was clean and there are TV's everywhere for you to enjoy any football or sports game. I've eaten here quite a few times with my husband and it has slowly gone down hill. There was 1 lady running the bar, seating people and taking orders!!! I get that restaurants can be short staffed, but the 1 person running the restaurant was extremely rude to people coming in, seating them and taking their orders like she was very put out. Just being friendly goes a long way with people having to wait for service. We thought that they must be going out of business. Been here many many times. We've ALWAYS enjoyed it. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Today, with half of the tables and bar still available, the waiter asks, "table for 2, do you have a reservation?" We've replied "no, do we need one?" He pouts and says let me see if I can find yall a table." We said we will sit at the bar. Little did we know it was watch party night for some reality show. Still wasn't bothered about anything... Then...loud as could be, the audio in the place was so overwhelming I put my headphones in and still couldn't hear them. A watch party???? To take over the entire place???? Cheering and all sorts of nonsense. Grumpy old fart?? Maybe, but We've thought it was gonna be similar to our previous visits. Not into this watch party thing to take over the whole establishment. We were really disappointed with our experience at Tipsy Crawfish last week. We went before 5:00 p.m., and when we arrived there were only about two families in the restaurant, so it didn't seem especially busy. We ordered snow crab, crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, sausage, corn, hush puppies, and two kids meals. After placing our order, we waited around 40 minutes just for the first kids meal to come out. Then our seafood boil arrived, but it was missing the crawfish and hush puppies. The second kids meal didn't come out until 10-15 minutes after the rest of our food, and it was so hot we had to wait even longer before we could give it to our child. When we asked about the crawfish, we were told they were "almost ready," but by that point we were basically finished eating everything else, so we asked for them to be removed from the bill. Later, we noticed the hush puppies were still on the ticket, so we asked for those to be removed too since we never received them. The response we got was, "They're sitting back there right now," which was frustrating because by then it was far too late. On top of the poor timing and service, the food itself was not great. The corn tasted like it had come straight from the freezer and had freezer burn, the shrimp was tough and rubbery, the crab was just okay, and the potatoes still had roots growing out of them that hadn't even been cleaned off. It's unfortunate because this restaurant is so close to home, and we really wanted to like it, especially for the amount of money we spent. Sadly, the experience was not worth it. read more

I even visited the restaurant later and was promised a call from the manager--but it never came. Service was poor, the food very slow to arrive and only average.
