Last time to ever visit this location. Either they ALWAYS get the TO GO order wrong or the amount is wrong. This time the burgers were rare to almost raw. The loaded fries were missing a couple of the toppings. They were barely busy, so the two Scotty guys were on their phones and joking. Apparently we interrupted their night out. Ambiance is perfect, McKinney history on the wall sets the tone, it's Texas. Service was great. I was serviced by the mgr or owner. He was very concerned about my experience plus enjoying the burger. The website is easy to order from online. Our order that we picked up was ready in less than 10 minutes. However, the sweet potato fries were stale and lukewarm. My turkey burger was not cooked through. I had to finish cooking it once back home. Not worth the money since I had to cook it through. read more

Finally tried out Scotty Ps for the first time today. What can say but 'wow'. I had the New Mexico burger with hatch chilles and pepper jack cheese. This burger impressed the hell out of me. The meat was so fresh it reminded me of eating meat in Mexico where the meat is so fresh and unprocessed. The grilled chicken salad was delicious. My wife's salad was also delicious and both of us ate for 35 bucks. Very affordable. Service was friendly and welcoming. The gentleman that helped us out offered great suggestions and was very personable. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. I love the decor. I wasn't a big fan of the music but it wasn't a big deal and I wouldn't expect any place to play the stuff I like. Definitely going back soon. Thank you. read more

Wonderful food and service. I am traveling and stayed at a nearby hotel. I ordered online. I got an El Jefe, which is a burger with pepperjack and guac and some fries. Enjoyed a late lunch with my husband. Upon walking in, I noticed it was very clean. The drinks and condiment station was organized and clean as well. No sticky bottles or counter top. The bathroom was very clean too!!! I ordered the hatch Chile burger but instead of crispy onion strings...I replaced them with sautéed onions. Hubs ordered a build your own burger. Food came out hot, fries hot and crispy and it was extremely tasty. The hamburger was not greasy at all. I am not in McKinney often but when I am I make sure I eat at Scotty P's. The food was good and fresh. I had the fish and chips on their recommendation. It was filling and tasty. My wife got the chicken kabobs and she loved it. The sauces and dressing for the salad were tasty. We also got the fried mushrooms and the breading had some good flavor and nice crunch. I'm visiting from Florida for the holidays. Tonight I went with my daughter and two grandsons to Scotty P's in McKinney TX for dinner. It's a very nice restaurant, kind of hidden in a strip mall. Walking in I was impressed with the warm cozy atmosphere. It's a stand in line to order burger restaurant but the table and booths are very nice and comfortable. I ordered the 67 Original burger with cheese and an order of onion rings. The burger was juicy and delicious. No frozen dry patty here which seems to be the norm lately. The bun was buttered and grilled to add to the deliciousness. The onion rings were huge and very tasty. We all enjoyed our burgers. My daughter ordered the loaded fries with her burger. You can see how yummy they look in the picture. Scotty P's is my daughters and grandsons favorite burger place in the area and I agree. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Scotty Ps has gone way down hill. Came in tonight for dinner and asked if they would mix dressing into salad so that my wife who has Parkinson's could eat it easier. Was told they could not do it. You can best tell how good a business is, by how they handle their mistakes and dissatisfied customers. Unlike most businesses, Scotty P's comes through as an example for all. Our family had just arrived home from a 20 hour flight from South America. After over 36 hours without sleep, and nothing to eat in recent memory but airplane food, I drove over to Scotty P's and ordered 3 hamburgers and fries. Upon arriving home, we discovered they had mistaken the condiments and vegetables requested on all 3 hamburgers. I called the restaurant, rather angry because I had neither strength or patience left to drive back and replace the order. What Scotty P's did, was something I've rarely experienced in my long lifetime. Not only were they apologetic in the face of my anger, they made the entire order over again and personally delivered it to my home in less than 15 minutes, with smiles and a gift card. WOW!!!!!! Where have you ever seen this before? Maybe they had the staff available to do this at that particular moment , and I'm not suggesting this is something they would be able to do all the time, but it shows something very unique. These people have customer service down to perfection. There are so many restaurants in this town that show nothing but contempt for their customers, Scotty P's should be an inspiration to all. read more

I would venture to say that they were cooked very rare. If I had wanted a rare burger this would have been perfect. This unpredictable quality is why I stopped going to Scotty P's years ago. Stopped by for lunch before grocery shopping, and it was a wise choice. I ordered the Preston Trail burger, and it was top notch! The burger was done exactly as ordered, and the flavor of the meat was exceptional. The bun was toasted, the chili was plentiful, and they put the jalapeños on the side as requested. My husband ordered a custom burger, and his was also done as ordered. We had a side of onion strings to share, and they were perfect.
