We were going to brunch at the pancake house, the wait was too long; we decided to try this place. Our server Manuel was friendly and attentive. This is the best mexican place that my wife and I have found in Carmel. my wife is from Arizona and swears that they have the best chiles poblanos that she has had since she left AZ. I almost always get the enchiladas suizas which are cheese enchiladas smothered in fork tender fall apart pork with cheese and tomatillo sauces. The food was fine but somewhat overpriced. It was the covid 19 safety measures that had me concerned. Other than the staff wearing masks they had dinner parties jammed in the restaurant tight, I mean rush hour super jammed tight together at large party tables with each party less than a foot from the next party. This is just another cookie cutter Mexican restaurant. Nothing special about this place. We ordered the cheese and bean nachos and that was literally what they had on them, beans and cheese! I have eaten here several times and it has always been delicious! Definitely check out the "Molcajete" if you get the chance. I have never seen an item like this anywhere else. "The Toros" (I think they had to change the name assuming Los Toros was an established chain...) is located at Gray and 146th. It is definitely the best Mexican option in the area. Highlights: Food is very good, excellent portions, and service is routinely lightning fast. Margaritas are tasty and come in small to 'fish bowl' sizes. Chips are very good and their selection of hot sauces gives you the option to branch out from the house salsa to kick your chips (or meal) up quite a few notches. Great place to meet friends and hang whether in the restaurant or separate bar area. Lowlights: None. Recommendation: Do it. read more

This is our favorite mexican place in the Indianapolis area thus far. It's also super convenient considering we live in walking distance! The Carne Asade is my favorite dish. The quality of the food is remarkable, they seat you quickly, you can do carry out, and the service is top notch. This place is packed every night of the week. This is excellent authentic Mexican food, which is hard to find in the suburbs of Indy. The wait staff is friendly and the food comes out FAST. My family eats there once a week and we are always greeted with a smile and familiarity. Prices are fair for the food quality and quantity. Their chips and salsa are one of my favorites. Been searching for a good Mexican eatery that's closer to home since moving from downtown Fishers (Riviera Maya was the go-to) to boondocks Noblesville. I like to fancy myself an expert on Mexican cuisine since I eat it all too often. I was pleasantly surprised by this place and have deemed it our official go-to spot. My family and I have been to Los Toros now a half-dozen or more times. No complaints to speak of for any of them. The joint is kid-friendly, especially with their pour-as-you-go salsa/picante. Their tomatillo sauce is excellent, even if a bit spicy. The menu is typical Midwestern Mexican, otherwise, with a few house "especiales"--there's usually a good beer special, too. I've been coming to Los Toros with my family for about two years now. We try going at least 3 times a month. The place is amazing! It never disappoints. The portions are huge so you are always leaving full. The staff are always so humble and are very quick when you have something to say to them. Never a long wait for food and the wait for a table is never longer than 10 minutes. Plus it's very cheap so you're getting a lot of food and drinks for your buck. My wife experienced the worst service in her lifetime visiting at any service establishment at The Toros! She was so upset that I had to post this to express our disgust with the server she experienced and the restaurant that would employ this individual-Angelo. Today she arrived around 12:30 and ordered food and spent a few hours there working & grazing on her lunch. She was located in the bar area high top minding her own & needing little to no assistance. During the entire time she was there a total of 2 people (together) were being served in the bar area, it was slow. As she went to pay Angelo came up to her and said "You've been here for 3 hours wasting our time and energy" and then a confrontation arose with this pathetic human that would even have the gall to be so rude to say this to a paying customer! The owners need to know that this scum bag is a creep and he's lucky I wasn't there or I don't know what I would have done! Good Mexican food. Service is average. Take out is a challenge. First they have a hard time understanding over the phone. Next you can order 1 meal or 10 meals and they say give me 10 min. When you arrive nothing is ready. They also charge you an extra $.50 to do takeout. I have asked about this, and get no response. Then the next time the waiter got the order wrong, we ordered Tacos Carnitas and he brought steak tacos and acted like it was what we ordered. He did fix it but still, he wasn't listening. I always judge a Mexican restaurant on its salsa. This salsa had cilantro and fresh cut onions in it which I love .....but the salsa itself tasted almost like pizza sauce. Disappointing. The guac was good though and was fresh with cilantro,onions, and tomato chunks. I ordered the carne asada The server was nice. It wasn't very busy at 7p on a Sunday (duh) and my food came. I was having a surprise party for my husband and had it set to be a bar next door (The Local eatery and Pub). When they didn't save us our tables we were in a bind. ( and they didn't care at all- not my idea of good place) the Toros were amazing at moving people around for our large group. The staff was amazing. The margarita's were awesome. I have to say I'm surprised by the high reviews others have posted for this restaurant. I love Mexican food and have wanted to try Los Toros for a while now. I always get their Val-Pak coupons and finally decided to try them out. My girlfriend and I went on a Friday night around 9:00. We were met with a friendly greeting and seated immediately at a booth. There were only a few other parties in the entire place at this point. One of the first things we noticed on our way to our booth was that the floor was very dirty. There was food and napkins that had not been cleaned up from a previous party at one of the nearby tables. It just gave the place an overall unclean feel. When we got to our table, the booth still had food on it from the previous party too. Our server arrived quickly and took our drink order (2 house margaritas), which arrived quickly. A minute later, another friendly man delivered chips and salsa. The chips were fine but the salsa was boring and plain. Pretty bland. No spice, no kick. While looking over the menu, our server stopped by to see if we were ready. We weren't ready but my girlfriend requested 2 waters. Our server acknowledged the request and then proceeded to NOT bring them. Remember, the restaurant was practically empty so it's not like he got stuck running for other tables. It took a bit of time to decide on a meal and by that time, I had finished my margarita. I ordered another one and asked again for 2 waters. I ordered a Hot and Spicy Burrito which was pretty good. My girlfriend ordered a quesadilla which left a lot to be desired. While we were sitting there, we kept getting bombarded by an incredibly annoying song that was playing over and over again over the speakers. It was called, "What Does the Fox Say"? I finally complained about it because it was literally getting played repeatedly and if you have ever heard it, you know how annoying it is. I was told by our server that it was a little boy (presumably one of the staff's sons) that kept playing it repeatedly. Here's an idea: Don't let a little kid run the music selection at the expense of the patrons. Bottom line: we won't be back. There are plenty of better choices near where we live.
