This place is convenient. I like how the food, with the exception of the pizza (will comment below), is made to order. Their tacos are decent, not completely authentic for me. However, I do like how the shrimp tacos have shrimp you can actually see and the fish tacos practically have half of a fillet. The burgers are okay, nothing to rave about. The quesadillas are huge, way more than I was expecting. I usually tend to get their teriyaki chicken rice bowl, lol, it reminds me of the one at JBox but with a bigger portion. I have had some inconsistencies, sometimes when I order the tacos I have chips/salsa on the side, sometimes not. hmmm, I'm not sure if than has any relation to how busy they are at the time. The most convenient ready food is the pizza. I definitely would NOT eat this. The pizza smells good, especially if you're hungry, but don't let it deceive you! It sits out, for gosh knows how long, until you point and motion that you want a slice. Then they put it on a plate and basically just stick it back in the over to warm it up, yuck. The cheese doesn't have that gooey, just melted, fresh taste. Not only does it look disgusting but the cheese has hardened from sitting out. GROSS! I had many meals at the Treehouse and enjoyed each one. They do everything really well. It's also a cozy eating environment and a good place to catch games. My favorites are the chorizo burrito (very hearty and I get lots of tomatillo salsa on the side) and their focaccia pizza slices - the crust is delicious, especially when it just comes out. I've had the burritos, the bugers, and the pizza. All of it is a bit underwhelming - like you would expect from a campus eatery. The seating is very limited (inside) and doesn't have many spaces for big groups. Back in the day I came here because it was the only place on campus with beer. But almost every time the draft beer (Fat Tire) tasted off - too old or something. There were some days that off beer was better than no beer, but now there is the CoHo... with good beer! This is the kid's favorite place to eat. He always likes to get two pepperoni pizza slices. He then peels off the pepperoni from one of them, eats the pizza without the pepperoni, then eats the rest of the pepperoni all at once. He boxes the other pizza and takes it home so he can have it for dinner. When I was at school here, I never went here. Now that I no longer do, I find myself going here almost every time I'm on campus. I would recommend the Teriyaki bowls, in particular the Hawaiian Luau bowl. If you are in near Tressider and need a quick meal, this is a great place to grab something. They have a wide variety of foods-- Mexican, Indian, Thai. My advice is to stick with the Mexican or Indian. The burrito bowls are good (potato and chorizo is great) and the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken are tasty. They also have pizza. Admittedly, I'm an east coast snob when it comes to pizza (I've yet to love any pizza I've had in California) but it is cheesy and the crust is good (and not ridiculously thick). Bonus? Great for a bite to eat while strolling through campus at Stanford (yes, my mortal enemy's campus). I recommend the tostada salad. This thing is huge plus has a healthy portion of sliced steak on top. The dressing is a bit oily so I usually just grab some salsa verde and throw that on top to add some spice and tanginess. It will fill you up and not drain your wallet! Also very tasty is the turkey burger (which I alternated between the beef entrees to "try" and stay healthy). The burger is very tasty and you can toss some jalapenos on to give it some zing. The food is good for a campus joint and the prices are not too bad. Cozy seating with abundant wood, TVs, and tons of people will make it a good place to hang out with friends. First, let me clear the air by saying that I am an alumnus from the best public school in the world. If my overbearing (no pun intended?) pride for the school across the Bay from Stanford is too much for you, I apologize because you'll miss out on my pretty positive experience at the Treehouse. The Treehouse is a very popular dining spot at the heart of the Stanford campus. It's conveniently located near the Quad and next to the big student store. If you are looking for a variety of unhealthy food options such as burgers, fries, and nachos this place is for you. It even has tacos and rice bowls. If you are vegetarian, there are also options too. And interestingly, this place even has Indian food too. Normally, I wouldn't even step foot on the Stanford campus for food, but my coworker was having her going away party, and so we all decided to grab something at the Treehouse. Warning: if you are a nonstudent trying to drive here for food, I encourage you to rethink your decision. Please try to walk to the Treehouse because parking is a pain in the butt. Unlike Berkeley, Stanford is notorious for permit parking spaces EVERYWHERE and EVERYONE drives! Also, don't come to the Treehouse if you are in a rush because everyone comes here during lunch time (can take around 15-20 minutes for your food, not including waiting in line to order). Before coming to the Treehouse, I heard a lot of good things about their nachos and was pretty stoked. My coworkers got a few orders of them and so I decided to get a Philly Cheese Steak. Food took an extremely long time to come out, but I understand why since there's so many people ordering from the Treehouse. Food eventually came out after around 15-20 minutes of waiting and we all sat outside. -Philly Cheese Steak (8/10). I really enjoyed the Philly Cheese Steak. For around $8.67, you get a pretty big sandwich that has bell peppers, cheese, onions, as well as big slabs of steak. The meat was pretty juicy and the cheese was delicious. The sandwich could have been a bit crunchier though. What I enjoyed the most was that they also gave you a side of fries. The fries were a tad flimsy, but I wasn't complaining with the serving size. -Treehouse Nachos (8/10). People weren't lying when they said the nachos here were good. Each order comes with a very big piles of nachos. You get an insane amount of melted cheese, as well as a bunch of beans and a huge slather of guacamole. I'm pretty sure you'll be satisfied by just ordering nachos without anything else. Overall, I was pretty impressed by my first experience with Stanford dining. No offense to my fellow Golden Bears, but the food at the Treehouse was definitely better than most of the dining options I've encountered through my four years at Cal. For example, you definitely get more bang for your buck with the Philly Cheese Steak here compared to the one you could get at Berkeley's Golden Bear Cafe (do they even have the Philly Cheese Steak there anymore???). The only real downers about the Treehouse was 1. that their water cups seemed to have holes? I asked for multiple water cups and each one was leaking water; and 2. if you sit outside, you may be pooped on by a bad pigeon like I did-they need to invest in some shade. Other than that, I give the Treehouse a "nice-su, you can take your parents here and they'll be happy!" This place serves decent junk food on a student budget. Plus, there's so many options here that you may end up missing class trying to figure out what you want. I hate to say it, but Stanford campus might actually have okay food. I love this place. It was the only mexican food show in town. I've always ordered the chicken nachos. It's similar to the chicken nachos you would find at Baja Fresh. Their chicken burrito is good too, but I've always ordered the chicken nachos. I knew they had pizza, but I've never tried it. It didn't look spectacular. Treehouse is located in the middle of campus. This is a great place to study, sleep, and watch TV in between classes when you don't feel like going back to the dorm. This is my favorite eatery on-campus so far, but take that with the giant asterisk it comes with. I work nearby and you can order ahead, which is super convenient and means that I end up eating here 70% of the time when I don't bring my lunch. Faves: the burrito bowls are massive, and the pastor shrimp bowl is to die for. I love the marinade they use and you even get pineapple mixed in! Basically, stick to the Mexican food her. They also have Diet Dr Pepper in the soda machine (*praise emoji*) and the mango lassi is so good when you have a sweet tooth and want a bougie brunch snack. Not-so-faves: I got a bunless chicken sando and the cut of the meat was...interesting. Maybe it was a chicken thigh or something, because it had a decent amount of fat and darker meat than I expect with a chicken sandwich. Would not order again. Also, very skeptical of the Indian food here, though I'm sure eventually my curiosity will win out and I'll try it. I would suggest looking at the menu online, because it's all over the place and scrawled on the wall in typical Stanford style, which looks nice but makes it impossible to read. The order-ahead is also solid gold, but there is usually a decent amount of confusion re: order #s and who got what. The Treehouse is the place to go for good food and good times! It's located in the Tressider Memorial Union building close to the bike shop and FedEx Office. They have plenty of food items to choose from whether your ballin on a budget or your very hungry! There is plenty of seating inside and also you can enjoy your meal outside as there are some tables around. My recommendations are: 1. Chicken Quesadilla 2. Carne Asada Nacho Fries or Chicken 3. Tacos! The combo comes with 2 tacos and you don't want beans you can ask for more rice 4. Thai Chicken Burrito 5. Slice of pizza Depending where your coming in from the campus, the nearest parking is the Tressider lot, usually from Monday-Friday parking is enforced from 8a-4pm, and any other time it's free! Mainly people use bikes and other modes of transportation to get around the area. Will try other items if I ever get the chance to visit but I'm totally a fan of their food and great service! read more

The size of the menu here really took me by surprise. I took forever to decide what I wanted to order. In the end, I settled for the Cardinal Burger--a pretty basic burger (exciting, I know). Prices here are pretty cheap and I think I paid less than $7 for the burger that came with fries. It wasn't anything special though. I found the burger to be SUPER greasy. My bun was soaked through with oil before I was halfway through. Fries are meh as well. Not super impressed by this place, although given the size of the menu, I'm sure if I came back again I'll be able to find something I like. A bunch of people in front of me ordered the bowls (teriyaki chicken or something) and those looked delicious! So we'll see. Overpriced low-quality fake mexican food. I've tried getting lemonade twice and the concentration has been way off both times. The food is way too greasy. It's a step up from the axe and palm, but a very small step. The tables are usually dirty and the whole place smells funky. The Treehouse is great at what it should be. This is a mainstay for college students who need affordable food options. Their strengths are: tacos, burritos and pizza. Don't come here looking for a salad (CoHo next door is a better place for that). I can't vouch for the Indian food offerings as I've never ventured that far. But it's a great affordable place if you are at Stanford for any reason. Favorite meal eaten here: two carnitas tacos $2.50 each, served with chips and free reign of the salsa bar. The reason to come back again and again is the happy hour! Popular with graduate students and university staff alike, you can score a pint of good local beer (they rotate offerings often) for $3/pint and $8/pitcher from 3pm to 7pm. The food here is good but the service is bad. I was a student at Stanford for 5 years, so I had the chance to eat here on several occasions. I am not exaggerating when I say about 20% of the time, my order is very late (more than a 30 minute wait) or somehow doesn't make it to the kitchen, so I have to ask the cashier, at which point they go back and tell them to make my food. I'm pretty tired of having to ask several times to get the food I've already paid for, so that knocks this place from a 4 to a 2 for me. The food is pretty good though. read more

I was surprised how much I liked my turkey burger here. The meat itself wasn't the best I've had, but the brioche bun was awesome and the fries that came with it were perfectly skinny and greasy, and it was less than $7. It's a little sad to realize that this is the only spot on Stanford campus that stays open after 6pm or so... I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food in general, but given the scarcity of good and cheap lunch options on campus, the Treehouse is not a bad deal. Their menu is pretty extensive: burgers, salads, burritos, tacos, enchiladas and more... and the prices are reasonable (although they have been increasing over the years): $5-$7 range for most items. The quality isn't exactly the best, but it's not too bad either. Among my favorite items are the veggie burger, the thai burrito (which has pineapple and a spicy sauce... yum), and the chinese chicken salad (a little pricey but big and tasty).
