Personally I feel four Tiger Tacos here is the best deal for lunch/dinner anywhere on campus. (It's $5 if you have the 10% off coupon, available in Stanford directories). It coems with free chips (at least in the evening, when I usually order) and the salsa here is quite fresh and actually good. Filling and satisfying. The many times I've been here I would say this place is decent. I do like their pizzas, but most of the other items on the menu are way too greasy. every time my old roomie and bff comes into town, she insists on treehouse nachos (better known by the now ancient moniker of "hippie nachos") and pitchers of beer. this place is cheap, open late, and the quality of the ingredients is superb. freshman year, the only heavily bearded guy in my dorm would come here and speak in bombastic spanish with the guy behind the counter and buy the rest of us pitchers because he looked 45. he was also the dorm's pot and ex dealer and one time had to chuck his $250 bong and weed out of his window when the administration was supposedly coming to bust him. the next day, he was on his hands and knees scrounging around for his weed in the bushes outside his window. now, that tangent is not to say that the treehouse is lax on carding. i still get carded when i go there now. but i am saying that if you're stocky, have a big ol beard, and speak in ludicrously melodramatic spanish (like the radio announcers), you might just be able to slip by them. read more

I've been here over a bajillion times and, as a vegetarian, can vouch for its great vegetarian Mexican food. Their breakfast burritos are my favorite hangover cure. Their Vegetarian Plate is also good. The veggie burgers tend to fall apart on me, but I'm a perpetually messy eater. Treehouse Nachos are perfect if you like sharing, though those perfectly fried chips come with almost every order. I love their guacamole and their green sauce with tomatillos, but lately they haven't been putting in as many tomatillos as they did a couple years ago when I was a frosh. But still a great place for dinner-- just don't come during the height of lunch or dinner or you'll be waiting for a while! read more

Treehouse is solid, and I think it's better than its counterpart, Ray's. I've never had anything that I loved, but I've also never had anything that I really didn't like. If you're just getting pizza, you can wait in a separate line where you order your pizza, they'll heat it up for you if necessary, and you can go straight to the front of the cash register. Since I'm not a huge fan of tomato sauce, I like the focaccia-style pizza a lot and that's what I usually order. Otherwise, I get the pad Thai, since it comes with a huge pile of noodles that I can eat for several meals. As others have mentioned, Treehouse serves a huge variety of food, with Indian being their most recent addition. None of it is authentic, but the taste and cost are both reasonable. Happy hour is a good deal; pitchers are $9, single beers are $3-4, and wine is $5. Beware of the red wine as it's not very good, but the white isn't always chilled. Great tex mex (yes, texans will probably question my use of that name). Portions are great for the price and all their burritos/tacos are so flavorful. Now they even serve pizza which they have a separate line for. Sometimes if I come in and there's a line out the door for burritos, I break queue and head for the pizza which is quickly served. The focus on the mexican food in the reviews is surprising; its very standard, bordering on mediocre. The burgers and fries are really damn good though; not just for a campus eatery. I enjoy the BBQ burger here almost as much as the Counter, which is supposedly "upscale" (e.g. recommended by Oprah). They're in an entirely different league than what's served at the new Axe and Palm, a place that actually makes McDonalds look appealing. read more

Even though the food was all right, the service here is absolutely terrible. The first time I called for pizza, they told me to hold for 1 minute and had me wait for 5 minutes so I called again. As so soon as they picked up the phone, I heard whispers and the person immediately hung up on me. And today I ordered a vegetarian curry dish to only get a chicken dish and I AM VEGETARIAN!!! Beer! That's it, that's what brings me back... It's not the hamburger that I didn't enjoy. The Western Bacon Cheeseburger that was supposed to have BBQ sauce on it but instead was drowning in ketchup, so much so that the bun disintegrated before the burger made it to my lips. How about the time we ordered buffalo wings and they served them to me dry, when I asked the cook for some sauce he pointed me toward the salsa. The cheese fries are amazing! However, every time I order them I have to wait 30-45 minutes to get them. This time I waited almost an hour because when I inquired about my order it was left on the counter where no one could see. I got my fries and they were cold and hard. Not happy with this place. Ordered one of the only vegan things on the menu, the sweet potato kale burrito, which was supposed to have black beans, kale, sweet potato, guacamole, chickpeas, and brown rice. I bite into the burrito and it's literally a kale salad (dressing and all) with a few cold chunks of sweet potato and some black beans. After a few dissatisfying bites, I find a piece of chicken in it. Yikes. Not coming here again, and I've been giving this place my business for 3 years. Burritos are terrible by bay area standards. Pizza isn't great (it's a bit better now that they've started oven-warming the slices when you buy them), but you can get a free slice whenever you want with stanford directory coupons. I signed up for a yelp account just because I couldn't stand hearing Bailiwick M. call it "the best/most authentic Mexican food in the area".
