We just finished attending a wedding ceremony, my family and I headed here for the reception. Valet was posted at $18/hr, but since the newlyweds reserved the place from 5 PM to close, it was actually $18 flat. I didn't confirm with the manager, so I parked 200 feet away for $45 all day. Meanwhile, one of my cousins argued with a valet until the newlyweds clarified that all guests should've been charged the $18 wedding rate. Inside, the first thing I noticed was the smell of coffee which, it randomly made me think of Mexican coffee. I ordered an espresso and my usual Moscow Mule while waiting for the rest of the family to arrive from SF City Hall. The ladies at my table went with Peach Bellinis and Guava Rum Punches, and we had a couple of refills so, we were getting drunk before the party started. Starters were a wedge salad with clam chowder, and mains were a choice of fish & chips, Petaluma chicken, or salmon. My table stuck with fish & chips and salmon, both were solid. We sat at a window table with beautiful views and fresh air. Tons of photos and videos were taken, and the vibe was lively with a mariachi band playing for three hours. Even the staff pulled out their phones to record, and it honestly felt like they were having as much fun as we were. Hopefully, we didn't get too loud for the neighbors across the street.

So, was planning to go to The Barrel House but, when we came across this place and read about the history, totally changed our minds. Great experience! I loved the interior. It felt like visiting someone's cool house in the '70's I never order fish and chips. Too many calories for something that might be mushy. My judgment was good. This was excellent. Very crunchy and the cod was super fresh. The waiter was fun. We split the Frank Sinatra Festival Cake, flourless chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, cheesecake, and roasted strawberries. What?! Yes, I was really good! Definitely coming back!

I love this place! I had the sea scallops last night with Parmesan Risotto, Cherry Tomatoes, Delta Asparagus, Bacon, Fresh Arugula, HMB English Peas, Chipotle Crema. It was so delicious. Scallops perfectly cooked. We ordered a lovely bottle of wine. We also had the frito mixto and I had a negroni. All fantastic. The ambiance can't be beat. I love the relaxed vibe with reggae playing. The deck overlooking the bay is huge and wonderful. We saw a harbor seal while we were eating. We ate here during Covid in March - it was chilly and they gave us all space blankets. We're always pretty goofy and our servers have always been super fun. The food is great, the drinks are great, the ambiance is amazing.

What a treat to have a day in Sausalito with beautiful weather and beautiful views with friends for a birthday celebration. Our buddy called to make a larger reservation outdoors and fyi, that's the ticket! We had a corner table with the most beautiful backdrop of the water, boats, SF, and clear skies. Such a treat, would highly recommend if wanting the same vibe to call ahead. The Trident is a historic staple to the area, establishing the Tequila Sunrise in 1972..fun fact! The restaurant is pretty large and has a psychedelic vibe to it, with odes to those that frequented this spot like the Stones and Janis Joplin. Loved our waiter (Mify?), he even put a tiny birthday hat on to join our squad in celebration. We ordered the Whitefish Ceviche (recommend!) and Oysters to start for the table, followed by a cup of the Creamy San Francisco Clam Chowder and Classic New England Style Lobster Roll for me. Delicious soup! I'm a big fan of creamy chowders and this one according to the menu is a 60-year recipe and had bacon, yum-tastic. The lobster roll unfortunately didn't do it for me ~ I should have asked what "classic New England style" meant, because I wasn't expecting more of a lobster salad vs. warm lobster/butter pieces. So, that's on me! Although I wonder if anyone else has run into that issue when ordering the lobster roll? I opted for a Caesar salad upgrade vs. fries, but was still given fries anyways. A simple error turned out to be a fun meal add-on I wasn't expecting. Fries were crispy, would order differently next time. My husband ordered the Shrimp Po' Boy and that was delicious! It mentioned "famous" next to it, so had to try it ~ well worth the buttermilk bliss! Something to also note, they have awesome Kid's Meals which come in Bento Boxes (see pic). Plenty of food for the curious eater. Now that I'm taking this into consideration, I have to shout out the spots that give ample kiddo love in creative ways! Well done there! Overall I would def. come back for apps, drinks, live music, the chowder, and potentially try a few other menu items with the outdoor view when I'm ready to open the wallet a bit to splurge on an experience vs. just a meal.

Another Sausalito classic! I've tried many of Sausalito's waterfront restaurants and Trident did not disappoint! Trident is located at the end, with great Bay views spanning from Tiburon, Angel Island, Alcatraz and the city. Service was quick and attentive. We started off with the Frito Misto (MUST get) which is a great starter dish with many seafood: fresh cod, jumbo prawns, calamari with zucchini and yellow squash. You can taste how fresh the seafood was! For entrees, we ordered the Steak Frites, Linguine Alfredo with prawns and Burst Cherry Tomato Pasta with prawns. Look at the size of the dishes! You will leave feeling stuffed! Large portions, decent pricing, good food, you can't go wrong at Trident. The seagulls on the patio made us laugh so hard! They're such cunning creatures, looking around for their new meal and pecking at the pepper jars.

We had a good experience here. The restaurant is vintage with a great view. The server was nice and attentive but the food took an extraordinary amount of time to come out. I really enjoyed the Trident Sunrise cocktail and the Petaluma Chicken, I'll visit again for those alone. My husband said the star of the show on the Fisherman's Catch platter were the baked oysters.

Absolutely incredible experience. We came in the middle of the afternoon for a snack so it wasn't too busy, and they seated us at a cozy table with beautiful views. The clam chowder was perfect and the ceviche was one of my favorites. We also got the fries which were perfectly crispy. We shared a pot of tea which was nourishing for a cold day. So happy we had the chance to stop by here!

We were recommended The Trident by a friend, so we decided to check it out since he said it was really good. We walked in around 2:30 pm on a weekday for lunch and got seated right away outside, which I highly recommend if the weather's nice. The view of San Francisco from the patio is incredible, and there's enough shade to stay comfortable. The service was great. Our hostess was super friendly and checked in on us a couple of times. Food came out pretty fast, maybe 10-15 minutes after we ordered. As for the food, it was good, but nothing mind-blowing. We ordered a few of their popular dishes: the shrimp po'boy, oysters, Trident cioppino, chile slaw, clam chowder, and creme brûlée (which they gave us on the house for my birthday...Very sweet!). I'd personally skip the chile slaw and the clam chowder. The slaw didn't really have any chile flavor, maybe a stray bell pepper or two, and the chowder... honestly one of the blandest I've had. The highlights for me were the shrimp po'boy, oysters, and the creme brûlée. The sandwich was simple but solid. It had crispy shrimp and was in soft bread. Oysters were sweet! The creme brûlée was a classic, well-executed dessert. The cioppino was also pretty good. Had lots of seafood and the garlic bread on the side was perfectly toasted. All in all, it's a decent spot with great views and solid service. Not sure I'd rush back, but I'm glad we tried it.

I had a pretty good lunch at the Trident. Came here with a large group with a reservation. Service was painfully slow, even though the restaurant didn't seemed slammed and there were lots of empty tables around us. At the end we had to get up to leave and pay at the front since we waited for the check so long. I got the burger which was pretty good. It didn't wow me and the price was a little high for it to be only okay. The vibe here is the best part of the restaurant. We sat out on the back deck above the water and had great views of the city across the bay.

The Buena Vista's "World Famous" Irish Coffee
    Tariq M.

The Trident is an absolute gem in Sausalito--with incredible views, warm service, and the perfect Irish coffee to top it all off. Our party stopped in and each had the double Buena Vista Irish Coffee, and wow--what a treat. Rich, smooth Peerless organic coffee, a generous pour of Tullamore D.E.W., and a cloud of fresh whipped heavy cream... it was perfectly balanced and soul-warming, especially with the bay breeze just outside the window. To our surprise, they also served complimentary sourdough bread, which paired wonderfully with the drinks. A simple touch, but so appreciated. Whether you're starting your day or winding it down, The Trident nails that classic coastal charm with quality to match. We'll absolutely be back.

Ambience was relaxing and I loved the service. I really enjoyed the food and views of the water. I recommend sitting outside especially when there is no fog outside.

Beautiful beachfront restaurant with stunning bay views. We sat outside on the covered patio, soaking up the perfect summer weather, and were treated to the unforgettable sight of dolphins swimming by right from our table. The restaurant offers valet parking, which was very convenient since finding parking on the weekend can be difficult. Overall, we had a wonderful family outing here and definitely plan to return. Dishes we tried: Whitefish Ceviche -- 4/5 Grilled Baja Fish Tacos -- 4/5 Linguini Alfredo Rosé with Chicken - 4/5 Shrimp Po' Boy --3 /5 Trident Cheeseburger -- 3/5

We came here with a huge group on a Sunday for lunch and had a great time and great food. It was also a perfect day to take in the view. Someone from the restaurant also shared some history of the place and when the Rolling Stones came there after a show. Had fun drinks all around and I loved my scallops. They took good care of our large group.

We were hungry and in a rush to get to our boat rental and didn't even notice the specials. We got the red chowder, white chowder, soft shell bao tacos, fish tacos, pasta con vongole, and Louie salad for a group of 5. We took everything to go and had it on the boat. Everything was great especially the white chowder, fish tacos, and soft shell crab bao tacos, except the pasta con vongole was too salty. After looking at the pictures we decided we have to come back on Saturday. On Saturday the wait was 50 minutes, and the line went all the way around the fence. So many of the specials including the whole fish, which we went back for, got taken off of the list while we were waiting...tragic. If you're going on the weekend beware!! We ate in at the restaurant this time as we didn't have a reservation to get to. The outside was pretty hot and there's some seating inside and also in an adjacent room that nobody seemed to notice. We were still able to get 2 specials: rockfish ceviche and dumplings. The dumplings were so good - their homemade chili sauce is sweet and a mild spicy that builds. Rockfish was a bit lime-y, but a delicacy nonetheless. I would definitely come back on a weekday to enjoy the specials again!

This is definitely on the more expensive side, but for a special lunch or a first-time visit, we felt it was worth it. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the location made for a memorable experience. The only service issue we experienced was at the beginning of our meal. It took approximately 15-20 minutes before we received water, and guest ( they knew pretty well ) arrived after us appeared to be served immediately by 3 different servants with water and wine. We felt a bit overlooked and unwelcomed during that time. However, I do want to give credit to our waiter, who recognized the delay and apologized, which we appreciated. One additional surprise was being charged $2 for hot water with lemon. As someone who does not drink iced water, I often order hot water with lemon and have never been charged for it before. On a lunch bill approaching $150, that charge felt unnecessary and a little unwelcoming. It certainly wasn't about the $2 itself, but rather the principle of it. That said, the food and overall experience were excellent. I would not take any stars away because this place is truly a gem with delicious food, gorgeous views, and a welcoming outdoor dining area for guests with dogs. Highly recommended, especially for visitors looking for a memorable waterfront dining experience in Sausalito.

Our server apologized several times for the long wait, and that genuinely made a difference. She was attentive, checked in on us, and even brought out warm bread and butter to help make up for the delay. Her efforts did not go unnoticed and were appreciated. That said, the delay wasn't her fault. The issue falls on the kitchen, FOH management, and/or the GM. On a major dining weekend like Father's Day, service and execution should be a priority. If you know it's going to be a busy holiday weekend, staffing, preparation, and ticket times need to be managed accordingly. We've been waiting over an hour for our entrees, and while we're fortunately not in a rush, that's simply too long given how empty the restaurant appeared. The food itself seems to be good, but the wait time is ridiculous and takes away from the overall experience. I would only recommend Salito's if you have plenty of time and aren't in a hurry. If you're looking for a quick or efficient dining experience, you may want to look elsewhere. The server did what she could to make the situation better, but ultimately the kitchen and management let her down.

When we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted. We studies the menu you on the wall before ordering. You order at the counter and then they give you a number to put on your table. When your food is ready, hey deliver it to your table. Both my husband and I ordered the 1/2 rotisserie chicken plate. You have a choice of a salsa verde or romanesco sauce to go with your chicken or pay an extra $1 for both sauces. I chose the both sauces and my husband chose the salsa verde. We also ordered a cup of the cream of asparagus soup, a side of cabbage and kale slaw and a straus creamery chocolate milkshake. The inside is spacious and has a lot of communal seating as well as smaller tables. They have seating on the deck by the water as well. We picked a table and enjoyed our view of the ocean while we waited for our food. Our food arrived hot and fresh. Everything looked so good. The cream of asparagus soup was my favorite of the whole meal. It tasted so good. Next time I'll opt for the bowl instead of the cup. The rotisserie chicken was hot and juicy. I'm guessing they give you the sauce because the chicken doesn't have much seasoning on it. I tried both sauces and didn't care for either one. The salsa verde did not taste good at all. It definitely didn't taste like any salsa verde I've had before. The romanesco sauce had no flavor. It was thick and pasty but tasted like nothing. I should have just added salt to my chicken. I ate the chicken regardless and it was good. It just needed some seasoning on it. Each chicken plate came with salad on the side, which was very good and roasted potatoes. The potatoes were amazing. My husband liked the cabbage and kale slaw and loved his chocolate milkshake. Service was very good here. They bussed our table for us when we were finished. I'd definitely come back again but I would try one of their many sandwich offerings.

Got there around 3pm and was told that a table for two would be about a 30 minute wait, so it was not as bad as we thought it would be, considering that the whole parking lot (which was probably the only downside; it being made of gravel and without distinct parking designations making finding a spot incredible difficult and annoying) was full. The inside vibe was great, with tons of people drinking/eating and having a good time. When we got seated, we ended up ordering just a few oysters and a 3pc fish and chips. The oysters were pretty good and fresh, with a great vinaigrette on the side to pair with them. The fish and chips, however, were the obvious stars of the show. The fish were nice and golden, with a very crisp texture, and more importantly large and generous. The fries were nicely seasoned and plentiful. The fish was really tasty (you can choose the type of fish depending on what they have on hand, and some cost extra between $2-$10. We chose the standard option for the day: Rockfish), easily one of the better fish and chips I have had - just an incredibly simple, but well executed dish. While the tartar sauce was a good pairing, the real standout pairing was Hook Fish's own carrot habanero hot sauce with the tartar sauce and the oyster vinaigrette. I have never had something like a carrot based hot sauce, but it really works by contrasting the spiciness of the habanero with a slightly sweet carrot undertone. Strange, but it gave the classic fish and chips a unique twist that sets it apart from the competition. While eating we saw tons of different dishes fly out the kitchen as well, such as poke burritos, large portions of chips and salsa/guacamole, and fish tacos. After the experience we had that day, we will be forsure making another round back to Hook Fish to try some of their other options. Their fish and chips are a must.

On the 31st, we arrived just before 7pm, there was a 45 minute wait to br seated and we were warned that food would take an extra 30 minutes to prepare but we were allowed to enjoy the beers inside while we wait. We were seated in about 30 minutes which is not bad at all. We ordered food at 7:51pm and the appetizers were good (ceviche+chips and oysters) and came out fairly quick. We kept waiting for our the rest of our food, about 40 minutes from ordering time. I decided to go up to ask the cashier for an update. She then tells me its a 45 minute wait for the food and she would check on it for us. 10 minutes later, my other friend asked the server for an update and he said food is taking longers than usual because their fryer was broken. 5 minutes later, I had realized that the table that sat at the same time as us had gotten their food, finished it, and left. We go back to ask them at the counter and returned with the same response that they their fryer was broken. Another 5 minutes pass, the table that arrived after us had already gotten their food and left. At this point, we have been waiting for an hour for our food. My other friend decided to go up to the cooks and thats when they realized that the ticket was missed so they started the order for us. The food had arrived 5 minutes after and at this time it was around 8:55pm and they close at 9pm. I don't think the time was the biggest factor for my 2 star review, it was more so the fact that we were dismissed 3 times before they realized that we were not exaggerating. And out of the 4 people we talked to, only one person actually checked on our order. This was a sunday night and we had to drive back to either the east bay, the peninsula, or south bay. It was incredibly disappointing because we were celebrating a birthday and it was a place I recommended after having a great experience the day before. They did give us an extra guac and ceviche to make up for the wait but no extra food could have made up for the poor service that we were given and the amount of times we were dismissed that day.

After reading some reviews here I knew it was a small place, so I was pleasantly surprised I could get a reservation during our trip to Sausalito. My husband and I had recently enjoyed some caviar for the first time but we are no experts, and I was a little worried that he might not get enough to eat. Turns out we both left perfectly satisfied. The place is tiny but so elegant. The bar is right in front of the kitchen that is sparkling clean and the chef prepares everything right there. There is a little high top table too and there was a couple there when we arrived, but afterward it was just us and we felt like royalty treated to our private dinner. We aren't caviar experts by any means but Yo did a great job explaining the different caviar flights including where it comes from - turns out the white sturgeon is farmed in the Sacramento Delta. We chose the Menage a Trois white sturgeon flight and it was so elegant. Three kinds of caviar plus all these homemade breads and crackers to enjoy it with. Every bite was amazing and I think we only left a couple of chives. Afterward we picked a couple of other dishes - the Chawanamushi and the Dungeness crab ravioli. Both were exquisite- in flavor and presentation. For dessert we had the sweet potato - Yo described it as a ganache - which I couldn't really picture but it was a very accurate description. It came with asian pear and was just the perfect finish to our meal. I had a couple glasses of French bubbly with my meal - normally I can't do more than one glass of champagne but it was crisp and yummy and paired well with everything we ate. When we were finished we got our check in a cute sturgeon pulp science fiction book. It was the final thoughtful detail to a wonderful evening. Chef Lance is a real artist and he really thinks through the ingredients and the flavors. Everything was so delicious and creative. I hope we get to come back again someday.
